"Staff Sgt Jackson reporting sir."
"Ah. Jackson, Please sit."
I sat down in the chair in front of me.
"Do you know why I called you here?"
"Um, Something about a classified mission sir."
"Correct, I want your men to check out some fires going off, probably terrorist, but it's under the radar for now, if you can. Find the source and stop it."
"Yes Sir."
I took the folder on the table and walked out. I got back to the tent and started to read the report. Jesus, the satellite camera's can pick up the fires. Those terrorists got a lot of oil to burn. I looked up and Corporal Lee just walked in.
"We got a classified mission."
" Oh, great that's going to be fun, be ready for anything then."
" Ya, get the rest of the squad, get ready in 15."
He winked and walked out. I grabbed my M4 Carbine, and my Kevlar armor and helmet. My Cpl. got the rest of my squad, and they got ready.
"Alright listen up." They stopped doing what they were doing to listen. " This is a classified mission, no Intel, I would suggest staying on your toes alright."
I walked outside and got our Humvee's started. We saddled up and moved out.
-o-
We were driving there when I heard a gunshot hit the side of the truck. I heard the truck gun open fire and stop a couple of seconds later. I thought, was that a misfire or something? And if it wasn't who had the balls to shoot at a armed convoy. The thought went passed my mind and we kept towards our objective. I could see the smoke from a mile away and I knew that was our target.
"Keep your eyes open, and your guns ready." Private Parker said. He turned the safety off his M249 SAW and checked his ammo.
We parked the truck and I told the gunners stay on the guns. I walked out and check the fire. I was surprised to see that there was a good 40 tons of oil on fire. Right then something landed in front of me and my squad. I looked up and couldn't see the target because of the smoke and dust, but the silhouette was scary enough, it was taller then all of us by a good 10-20 feet.
"OPEN FIRE." I yelled. I heard both Humvee guns and all of our guns open up. I looked up and saw a breath of fire come towards me. It hit me and I felt the burning start. I started to scream and pat the fire out but that didn't work at all. I kept trying, the burning hurt so fucking bad. A thought ran through my mind, I grabbed my M1911 out of my pistol holder and pointed it to my head and fired. The last thing I heard was gunshots. The last thing I saw was a white light.
