Dimitri was chosen to command his country's first FTL capable ship in the Xian war, for his cool head under pressure, and his ability to adapt to new situations. His love for ''the motherland'', and his intellect.
As a member of the Fleet, in the Xian war, he was quick to point out alternative solutions people may not have thought of, and now, in Admiral Karen's fleet, he is often both a voice of reason in chaotic fleet meetings, and a hot blooded advocate for eliminating the Xian threat for good.
Dimitri was not always so fortunate. He started out a young boy in the streets of St Petersburg, struggling to make ends meet. The military proved just what he needed. He fought his way through several terrestrial conflicts, and that experience helped in his selection to command the Vassilev.
During the Xian war, he demonstrated his skill once more, never hesitating to do what had to be done. He even flew CAP with Maya and Karen on occasion.
Alleigance: Dimitri loves "the motherland" but he is enlightened enough to admit Admiral Karen knows best.
Orientation: Hetero, Married to Princess Mayali of the Canid Empire, but has had a fling with others including Admiral Karen on occasion. (normal, Canid marriage is not monogamous).
Kinks: Anal, other than that, pretty much vanilla. Mayali has made him a fan of anal gland musk, but that is only a specific case.
dreams: To see the Xians defeated for good.

Quirks: Not a fan of the chinese, and those feelings caused a lot of tensions early in the fleet. Came to accept captain Cheng after one of her soldiers took a bullet for Admiral Maya, buying her time to pinpoint the Xian sniper pinning them down.
Originally had misgivings about working with the Confederacy as well, but quickly discovered that Confederates are not self centered self important fools like the yankees were.
Oddly enough, Dimitri was one of a handful, not surprised by the Mammilians' arrival, /or/ the Xian threat. He had never imagined just how complex it was of course, but he had always felt there was life amongst the stars, and since he was very young, he had dreamed of seeing new worlds, meeting new faces.
Loves: Princess Mayali, Canid anal gland musk (Mayali's), The Motherland, Exploration, Battle, Canid Food, Strong Drink, Long Missions, Deep Space.
Hates: Xians, Dishonest people.
Worth mention: Dimitri is in his early 30's, physically fit, but slightly heavy for his height, (muscle mass), very professional when on duty, but also very personable as well. a good balance.
Additional faults: Sometimes too quick to bring the fight to the enemy. Was twice wounded in action in the Xian war, saved by the marvels of modern Canid medicine, and still he is always eager to go ''all in'' in any engagement.
