#2 of Kit and Tsuki Request

In Secret Love We Drown

By: Rakuen Growlithe

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon. This story was requested so it's not really mine either but I did write it and decided on most of the details.

AN: Really hope this lives up to what you expect. I have found I dislike the submission on this site. Why can't my series and chapter have the same name? But I do like the new keyword selector.

As consciousness gradually returned to Kit as he woke the next morning the first thing he noticed was the warm weight on his chest. He stroked Tsuki's sleeping form, smiling as he remembered what had happened the night before. The next thing he noticed woke him completely; he could see Tsuki! Kit's heart raced as he moved his eyes and saw his room, the light shining through the curtain in his room and his dark-furred mate sleeping on his naked chest. He could scarcely believe it. For the first time in five years he could actually see!

"Tsuki!" he cried ecstatically, shaking the sleeping pokemon.

Tsuki woke up hearing her master...no, she corrected herself... her mate. She looked at his beaming face and was struck by the fact that his eyes were no longer enshrouded by shadows.

"Tsuki, I can see!"

Kit sat up with a start forcing Tsuki to jump off. His heart and thoughts were racing too fast for him to really grasp anything. Questions and thoughts overwhelmed him in a never-ending stream.

'How did it happen?'

'Will I recognise everyone?'

'Tsuki's so beautiful!'

'Will I lose her now?'

"Kit? Is everything okay?"

His mother's concerned voice entered his room but failed to bring Kit out of his overwhelmed state. Tsuki was still totally alert however and quickly pulled the blanket over Kit enough to cover his private parts and leapt to the floor.

"Kit? I heard you saying something. Are you okay?" asked his mother as she looked into his room.

Kit looked at her making her inhale in shock. He looked at her, not toward her but directly at her.

"I c-can see!"

His whole body trembled as he said it and realised he was cured. He was normal again. There was a dull thud as the book his mother was holding dropped to the floor as her hand went limp from shock. She ran forward and hugged him tightly, tears streaming from her eyes.

"That's wonderful!" she sobbed, "I'm so happy for you," she looked at him and kissed his forehead before calling his father, "Honey! Come here now!"

Seconds later Kit's father appeared in the doorway, brought so rapidly by the urgency in his wife's voice.

"Darling, Kit can see again!"

Kit's mother punctuated the sentence with another tight hug. Kit's father stumbled forward uncertainly to see Kit's eyes, unclouded by Tsuki's dark energy. He placed a hand on Kit's shoulder and gave him a comforting squeeze.

"I knew you could get better. I knew it..." affirmed the dad, even his usually controlled features softening with emotion.

Tsuki stood silently at the side of the bed, slightly jealous at all the attention Kit was receiving before she could give him any. He was her mate but she hadn't had a chance to express how happy she was for him. Eventually when the tears of happiness had worn off Kit's parents left him alone, telling him to get ready to see the doctor to make sure everything was okay. Tsuki watched them leave and close the door before jumping up onto the bed and rubbing her softly furred body along her human mate's soft skin, purring happily. Kit's hand moved unconsciously and began to stroke her as he had many times before.

"I'm cured... I can see again..."

Tsuki mewed happily and nuzzled up Kit's neck, smelling her scent upon his body, and gently licked his cheek. He sighed and kissed his pokemon mate on the lip then got up weakly to get dressed.

Kit stood outside his house, squinting as the bright morning sun entered his eyes for the first time in five years. In his hands he still held Tsuki's harness just in case his sight disappeared as suddenly as it had returned but he had completely forgotten those thoughts as he saw the world again. The sight of his brown eyes shining in the sunlight and radiating the curiosity of new-born chilled filled Tsuki's heart with joy and hope for their future. Just as Kit's sight had returned she was sure everything would make their love perfect.

"Come on, Kit," scolded his father, "We should have been there already. We're going to be late?"

"I'm coming," called back Kit, standing up from the small flower he'd spotted growing in the gutter on the side of the road.

All around Kit saw thing's he'd previously been unable to see and even if he had would have been unlikely to spot. That tiny white flower with its head just poking above the leaves in the gutter was only the latest of his stops.

"Relax," said Kit's mother, wrapping her arm around her husband and squeezing him, "Let him enjoy himself."

His father just sighed. Tsuki gently pulled Kit's shirt, signalling he had to keep moving. He silently said goodbye to the lonely plant and smiled at Tsuki. He found it cute how she still mothered him even tough he could see now.

"I know," he whispered, running his hand through her pelt, marvelling at the white shimmer of the light on the black fur.

Kit jogged, flanked by Tsuki to catch up with his parents once more, only to stop mere second later to gape at the mysterious patterns light a puddle was throwing on a nearby wall.

"Bob's Pet Supplies"

"Antiques Were Us"

"Silph Co."

"Dr Seymour. Optometrist"

Kit read every sign slowly as they passed them as his long-forgotten skills were being used once again. His mother opened the door to the optometrist's private room and ushered Kit and Tsuki inside. To Tsuki the whole place was familiar as she had guided Kit in there countless times before but it was the first time Kit was seeing the place. Tsuki sensed his nervousness and stayed even closer to him, shivering in bliss as Kit's hand stroked over her back and along her tail.

"We're here to see Dr Seymour for Kit Ribose," declared Kit's father once he was standing at the reception, "I phoned this morning."

The receptionist shuffled through her appointment book, "Ah, yes. Here it is. Please go inside. Dr Seymour is waiting for you."

"Thank you."

"Did not arrive! Really needs attention!" exclaimed Dr Seymour as he wrote the words on a small piece of paper.

"Excuse me," said Kit's dad, "We're here."

The optometrist looked up, startled to find people in his room.

"Oh, Mr Ribose. I'm sorry."

Dr Seymour stood up and shook hands with Kit's father before sitting them all down and, after scratching behind Tsuki's ears, looked at Kit.

"So, I hear you're able to see again," commented Dr Ribose, as he peered at Kit's eyes.

This had happened before but it is two entirely different situations; being stared in the eye when you are blind and having it done when you are able to see.

"Y-yeah. Since this morning," answered Kit awkwardly.

Dr Seymour 'hmm'ed and brought out his ophthalmoscope and examined Kit's eyes closer. There was no trace of shadows inside the eye; it looked exactly as an eye should. Everyone waited with barely concealed impatience to hear the doctor's conclusion.

"Well," started Dr Seymour, making everyone sit up anxiously, "Somehow the energy has left his eyes. I doubt there is any chance of it reoccurring without him taking another hit. However," and he quieted them down, "I'm very curious as to how this happened as I've never heard of anything like this personally. I will consult with some colleagues of mine and hope to be able to inform of the reason for your son's remarkable recovery."

Kit's mom pulled him into a tight hug as his father shook the doctor's hand.

"We're extremely grateful for your help," stated Kit's father, "We cannot properly thank you for all the help you've given us."

As Kit was lead off by his mother, with Tsuki following behind, Dr Seymour held Kit's father back, "I really hate to ruin this happy occasion but there is something you may be able to help me with."

Kit's father's eyebrows raised and he nodded he was willing to listen.

"I know how hard it must be for a blind child, unable to fend for themselves and completely dependant on their pokemon. It's sweet in a way and I've seen incredibly strong bonds form between guide-pokemon and their charges."

Kit's father just nodded, not sure what the doctor as trying to get to.

"It's for that reason that it pains me to ask this but Kit no longer needs Tsuki. I know it will be hard but it takes a lot of hard work to train a guide-pokemon and there are not enough for all the blind people. Tsuki's trained and it would be a shame to waste all that effort when she could help other just as much as she's been able to help Kit."

"Are you asking me to give Tsuki away!" exclaimed Kit's father.

"I know it's hard-"

"You know how much she means to Kit?" shouted his father angrily, "I can't tear them apart like that."

"I have to ask. Just imagine what Kit's life would have been like without her help."

Kit's father fell silent.

"He struggled even with her. How much more would he have struggled alone? There are children like him who desperately need someone to help. Someone who can guide them; a light in the darkness. Would you really deny them that one fraction of joy? It might hurt to help others but can you live with yourself to just leave them to suffer alone?"

The silence stretched out through the room, seeming far longer than it actually was.

"I'm not forcing you to do it. Please just consider it. I have other patients to see now."

Kit's father wordlessly let Dr Seymour escort him into the reception.

"Next please," called Dr Seymour.

Kit's father looked at his family, his wife and Kit were talking to another woman waiting to see the doctor, Tsuki was held tightly in Kit's arm, nuzzling his cheek affectionately. Then he saw a small girl with bandages over her eyes get up and try walk to Dr Seymour's room unaided. The mother was too lost in conversation to notice and the blind girl walked straight into the corner of the reception desk. She fell down crying hard, her bandages growing wet with tears at the bottom and red at the top as blood trickled from a small cut in her forehead.

"Elisha!" cried out the mother, picking her up and hugging, "It's okay. Don't cry. It's okay."

She then hurried into Dr Seymour's room as he beckoned her with a small plaster.

"He struggled even with her. How much more would he have struggled alone? There are children like him who desperately need someone to help. Someone who can guide them; a light in the darkness. Would you really deny them that one fraction of joy? It might hurt to help others but can you live with yourself to just leave them to suffer alone?"

Tsuki and Kit separated from his parents in order to make their own ay home and at the same time spend some time together. They wandered along the roads until they reached the park. The whole place was dense patches of dark green bush and tall trees spread wide above the ground, casting speckled shadows upon the open patches of grass. This park was where Tsuki had accidentally blinded Kit but the sad thoughts about the time had been left behind and the two new lovers cuddled up together under a tree. Kit glanced around to make sure they were unseen by others then pressed his lips against Tsuki's muzzle. Her purr of pleasure as her tongue extended into his mouth sent a shudder through his body as the kiss grew deeper. Kit cold feel as Tsuki edged up his body until her paws were hooked over his shoulders. He ran his hands firmly over her tough body, hugging her enlarged breasts to his chest and leaving small, damp milk marks.

"I'm so glad I have you," whispered Kit as he drew his face back, "For everything you did for me. Looking after me, saving me and loving me. I want you to know I love you too and I won't let anything come between us."

Tsuki's heart melted at his affectionate speech and she mewed back her own devotion, cuddling up tightly and nuzzling his neck. The two lay together in the shade completely uncaring of the time until they noticed the shadows growing darker and headed back home.

"Then he asked you to give up Tsuki?" asked Kit's mother.

"Mhm," grunted Kit's father.

The two were sitting around the table discussing what to do about Dr Seymour's request.

"Obviously it's not my first choice," said Kit's father.

"Of course not; the two of them are so close. It would break his heart."

"But on the other hand she was so good for him. I don't want to imagine if we didn't have her to look after him."

"That would have been awful," agreed Kit's mother.

"If we can prevent another family feeling that same grief shouldn't we?"

"I... I don't know..."

"We can always get Kit a new pokemon, that's easy, but to get a fully trained, not to mention experienced, guide-pokemon, that's something else entirely."

"I know. If it wasn't for Ryan we might never have got a guide-pokemon."

"We'll have to discuss it with Kit. He's not going to like the idea but maybe he'll understand," finished Kit's father, "I'll get us some coffee."

He stood up to see Kit standing behind them, large tears threatening to fall from his clear brown eyes.

"Y-you c-can't take Tsuki... I hate you!"

"Kit!"

Before they could do anything Kit ran to his room, closely followed by Tsuki.

"They can't take you away," sobbed Kit, "I won't let them!"

He held Tsuki tightly in his arms as though he was never going to let go with his face pressed up against her own. He could hear her whimper and whine as she tried to calm him down and comfort him but her attempts didn't ease his fear of losing her. Kit winced and tightened his hold on Tsuki even more as his dad knocked on his room door.

"Kit. Let's talk about this," offered his father.

"No!" he then whispered an apology to Tsuki as his voice hurt her sensitive ears, "I won't let you take her away from me!"

"We won't, son, we were just discussing it. We wouldn't do something like that without talking to you."

Kit's father waited on the other side of the door for a few minutes for an answer before sighing.

"Dr Seymour only asked because there are other people Tsuki can still help. We'll leave you to decide though. Don't worry. We won't ever try to take Tsuki away from you."

Kit sobbed quietly, small tears running over his mate's short, black fur.

"I won't do it... I love you too much," Kit assured Tsuki.

He then parted his lips and let his tongue gently slide over her cheek in the same way a male umbreon would have.

"What's the matter?" sighed Kit, "If only you cold talk to me."

He was lying naked in bed, hugging Tsuki. It was late at night and the only light in the room was the soft glow of Tsuki's yellow rings. She just mewed sadly. Kit' dick was hard but Tsuki had no interest in sex and he'd noticed her interest had been decreasing. She didn't play as much either and only seemed to want to quietly cuddle with Kit.

"Are you sick?" inquired Kit, "Your temperature is fine though. And you look okay."

He sat up stroking her body which had been getting fatter for the last few weeks.

"Maybe you're just eating too much. You're almost overweight. I can't even afford all the food with my pocket money."

He continued to stroke her and think about his problem. He didn't know what was happening to her but he wanted to help.

"I think we'll have to go see a vet," he decided, "That sound good?"

Tsuki nodded, she too had no idea what was wrong with her and was secretly scared it was related to her enlarged breasts as the other pairs had also begun producing milk. Kit lay down and pulled the blanket over the two of them, their heads resting on opposite sides of his pillow. He pulled her in close and kissed the glowing ring on her forehead.

"Tomorrow we'll go and have you examined..."

Tsuki nuzzled him and wrapped her paws around his torso, purring lightly with her eyes closed.

"You'll be okay, I'm sure of it," he added, just as much to reassure himself as her.

"I'm taking Tsuki to the pokemon centre after breakfast," Kit informed his parents.

"Is she still not feeling well?" asked his mom, placing a plate of buttered toast on the table, "I hope it's easy to fix."

"Me too," replied Kit.

He reached into the cupboard for Tsuki's pokemon food and put it in her bowl. He felt upset every time he fed her that way and made up for it by feeding her treats at other times during the day. Tsuki didn't seem to mind much though and thanked Kit, licked his hand once and began to eat. Kit then sat down and took some toast. His dad was seated opposite him at the table, reading the morning mail.

"Is there anything of interest there, Dear?" asked Kit's mom as she took her seat.

"It's mostly bills," moaned back Kit's father, "But there is one here that's good news."

"What is it?"

"Ryan's got some free time and he'll be coming home for a few days next week."

"That's great!" exclaimed Kit's mom, "He hasn't been home since Kit's eyes cleared up; he'll be so excited. Isn't that great, Kit?"

"Mmm," nodded Kit with his mouth full.

Tsuki also liked seeing her old trainer occasionally and this would be the first time Kit could actually do things with his brother.

Maybe, thought Kit, we'll go to the arcades again.

Kit stood in the examination room in the pokemon centre. Next to him was a stainless steel table upon which Tsuki was standing; a brown haired new veterinary surgeon was examining her.

"So what did you say you've noticed with her?" asked the vet, sliding his hand over Tsuki's tail.

"She eats a lot more and she's been getting fat and she doesn't have... isn't as active as she usually is," answered Kit, cuddling Tsuki's head that was nuzzling his chest.

The vet wrote writing down on the clipboard.

"Okay. And how long has this been going on for?"

Kit thought about it.

"Um... about three months... It started a bit after I started to see again..."

"You were blind?" inquired the vet, intrigued that Kit was now seeing perfectly.

Kit nodded, "She hit me with a Shadow Ball along time ago and I couldn't see till recently."

"Ah. Perhaps she took the energy back in... Maybe that's what happened. Did you two do anything stressful before... no. You couldn't if you were blind. Sorry."

"Y-yeah..."

"Anyway I can't see anything wrong with her. Let me just scan her a bit. It won't hurt her."

"Okay."

When the vet turned to set everything up Kit sneaked a nervous kiss to Tsuki's muzzle, worried about her since they had been doing something stressful before he regained his sight. Tsuki could sense his worry but couldn't calm him down as she was rather nervous herself being examined by a stranger. She licked his lips softly to assure him that she was there and gave a hushed murr as his fingers brushed against her cheek.

"Okay," began the vet, making Tsuki and Kit separate in a flash, as he approached holding a small scanner, "Let's see what's wrong with her."

He clicked the machine on and the hummed quietly to itself as it scanned Tsuki with various rays and displayed the results to the vet.

"I thought it might be," smiled the doctor, "You can relax it's good news. She's pregnant. She's going to have kits."

"Wh-what!" exclaimed Kit, "That can't be right!"

"You might not believe it, kid, but pokemon do lot's of things we don't notice. I think she snuck outside some night and had some fun."

"B-b-but..."

"I don't want to alarm you, but the babies don't look like normal eevee to me. Maybe I'm just tired... Been up too long. I'm sure they'll be perfect."

Kit didn't know what to say. So he stammered out something, helped Tsuki down to the floor and left in shock.

Kit and Tsuki had sneaked home and were cuddled up on his bed together. Tsuki was happy she was having her mate's kits but she knew he was scared. She placed a paw on his chest and lay slightly on top of his chest and began to lap up his salty tears while purring comforting words to him. She watched him smile faintly and move his hand to stroke her head and up her long silk ears.

"What can we do, Love," he whined, "They're going to find out. We're going to be in so much trouble."

Tsuki's ears drooped and she laid her head beside his.

"I'm sorry. I'm upsetting you too now. I'm just so scared..."

Kit burst out crying into Tsuki's fur from the stress and fear. She embraced him close with her paws, nuzzling and licking his face. A tear rolled down her own cheek to the tip of her muzzle and dripped onto the bed.

"I heard from Dr Seymour about a possible reason for your eyes healing," said Kit's dad.

"When was that?" asked his Kit's mom.

"Oh, yesterday he phoned. I was very busy and almost forgot."

"How could you forget something like that?" scolded Kit's mom, "You should be ashamed."

"It's just a theory," defended Kit's dad, "We'll probably never know. Dr Seymour said that when Tsuki's attack hit Kit the energy entered his eyes and was stored there blinding him."

Kit just nodded, already knowing that part. He felt Kit rub her head against his legs under the table and he reached down to stroke her. He held no grudge, after all if it wasn't for her attack they wouldn't be together and he knew he loved her.

"Get to the good bit," encouraged Kit's mm, "I want to know."

Kit's dad grinned, "Well some researchers found it odd that human's and pokemon are separate species. Isn't it odd how there are pokemon and then only humans are separate?"

Kit, his mother and Tsuki all nodded.

"So they began to research and look for any similarities between humans and pokemon. It turns out that humans are in fact pokemon! Of course we don't have their elemental abilities. They have theorised the closest pokemon to a human is ditto."

"Ditto?" asked Kit, "We're nothing like ditto."

"You expect me to believe I'm related to a pink blob of goo?" exclaimed Kit's mom.

Kit's dad raised his hands to block them off, "It's not my theory. They state Ditto's only ability is to store pokemon and become an almost exact copy whereas humans have the ability to copy attacks."

"That's ridiculous!" scoffed Kit's mom, "Utter baloney."

"They have supporting evidence," shrugged Kit's dad, "Trainers who develop the same psychic abilities as their pokemon or became incredibly in tune with a certain element. Most people can't obtain control over the power though but if they have stored energy at certain times it can come out."

"If you say so," sighed Kit's mom, hoping he'd forget the topic, "But how's that got anything to do with Kit?"

"Hmm. I was getting to that. Scientists have a girl on record that was burned by a houndoom. As you know that fire will never go out and will constantly burn the victim. Well, one day the girl's family was attacked and somehow she used a flamethrower on the attackers and after that event the burn disappeared. Dr Seymour thinks maybe Kit was under a lot of stress and released the dark energy as an attack somehow."

"Uh...," Kit moaned dubiously, "I don't think so."

Secretly he wondered though. Mating Tsuki had been the most stress for his body he could remember since being blinded. Did he release the energy at some time?

"Not very likely. A nice story. But not very firmly based in reality," declared Kit's mom, discounting the idea.

"Oh well," sighed Kit's dad, "It's a good story. The scientists even believe humans and pokemon are able to interbreed on extremely rare occasions. There seems to be the need for a large release of energy though."

"Ugh!" shuddered Kit's mom, "That's the single most disgusting thought I've heard... and at the breakfast table too."

Kit and Tsuki winced simultaneously at the comment and Kit felt a burning sadness in his heart.

"Kit, will you get the door please," called out his mom, "It's probably Ryan."

"Sure," mumbled Kit, getting up to go to the door.

Tsuki wasn't with him because she was extremely close to giving birth. Kit still hadn't told his parents she was pregnant as he was sure they would link his eyesight to her pregnancy and kick him out of the house. He unlocked the front door and opened it to see his brother standing patiently there.

"Hey, bro," greeted Ryan.

"Hey," mumbled back Kit, opening the door fully.

"Something wrong?" asked Ryan, "You seem down."

"Nothing's wrong," lied Kit, not making eye contact, "Everything's fine."

"You sure? Cause-"

"Give mommy a hug!" cried their mother as she grabbed Ryan tightly, "I haven't seen you in ages. How're you."

"I'm fine," replied Ryan, trying to get out of the hug.

"He's here, Dear," Kit's mother shouted to her husband.

"Who?" came back the reply.

"Ryan!"

"Oh!"

Soon Ryan and Kit's dad appeared too and shook Ryan's hand firmly.

"We've missed you, son. Did you get our message that Kit can see again?"

"So eye see," punned Ryan throwing his mother into hysterics.

"Oh you're so funny!"

"That reminds me," remembered Kit's dad triumphantly, "You'll never get this one. What did the one cannibal say to the other while they were eating a clown?"

Ryan smirked, "Does this taste funny to you? Gotta try harder."

"Damn," cursed the dad, "Someday."

"Not likely."

"I've gotta go check on Tsuki," said Kit, excusing himself from the mini-reunion.

"You never said what was wrong with her," observed Kit's mom, "What is it?"

"Something wrong with Tsuki?" asked Ryan concerned.

"...She's pregnant," sighed Kit.

"Isn't that good news?" asked Kit's dad.

"Y-yeah..."

"Well congratulations!" exclaimed his mom, "Isn't this a great surprise?"

Ryan saw Kit's unhappy expression though, "May I come with?"

Kit just 'mmm'ed and led Ryan away.

"Dinner will be ready soon," called their mother as they left, "I'll call you then."

Tsuki raised her head as she heard people enter the room, smiling as she saw Kit and her old master. Her whole body was hot, heavy and uncomfortable as the kits inside her wriggled about. She let out a moan and both brothers were instantly at her side, soothing her.

"Is this why you were so nervous earlier?" asked Ryan.

Kit nodded, tears building up.

"Don't worry, she'll be fine. You know the father?"

Kit bit his lip, tasting fresh blood, nodding again as his eyes burned.

"Who is it? Don't the neighbours a few houses down have a flareon?"

"I-it... it's me!" cried Kit, unable to hold it back any longer.

"Wha!?"

Tsuki whined and tiredly rested a paw on her distressed mate.

"I love Tsuki and we had sex and it healed my eyes and she's pregnant and mom and dad are going to hate me!"

Tsuki wished she could do something to help but she could barely move from pain in her body. She watched Ryan pull Kit onto a hug and stroke his hair.

"It's okay. They won't hate you. They're your parents," he assured Kit, "And I don't hate you either."

Tsuki yelped as a shot of pain ran up her spine as the first Kit began to leave her womb. Ryan laid Kit, who was still crying hard, on the bed next to Tsuki and turned to help the umbreon give birth.

"Just push it out, girl," said Ryan evenly, "You can do it. Come on."

Tsuki shuddered at the intense pain but could feel the kit's body slowly moving out of her.

"That's good," encouraged Ryan, "Keep it up."

He held his hands under Tsuki and slowly the tiny eevee/human cub came out to lie in them. It trembled a bit then began to give a high-pitched cry that cut through Kit's wailing and made him sit up straight.

"Here, take it," ordered Ryan, placing the cub in its father's hands before going to catch the next one.

Kit looked down through his tears at his blurred baby. It almost looked exactly like an eevee but there were slight differences he noted. Its forepaws were stubby hands and the body was a bit longer than a normal eevee. As he ran a finger over its moist fur he could feel the bones were joined in a position halfway between an eevee and a human. Further tears began welling up but tears of happiness. He was a father, he and Tsuki had children. Nothing in his hands ha ever felt so precious to him and he gently cupped them around it and held it close so nothing would ever take it away. Tsuki strained her neck until her head rested on Kit's head and she continued to bring their children out to the world.

The End
