A flying saucer painted red and black with black windows speeds through space with the sparks of her rocket thrusters going full blast. "Since when have the buggers not been making nasty noises?" Scarlet asks indignantly with a shake of her head. "Half the time I'm embarrassed that I'm Terran myself. But I bought Fenryx Zavaj, ever hear of him? Damn trader put a premium on the wolf for some odd reason."
"black furred wolf with red hair?" Brom asks. "Sounds like a crack gunner Earth was training to be a major force in their army but he was lost in a training exercise on Mars. Guess he ended up in the slave pits."

"Dirk Dodger tried to catch you?!" Brom asks at full volume. "And Fenryx shot him down?" Now he starts laughing. "Oh, that is just too rich! I'm putting that in the Chronicles. It's too good a story to leave out!"
"Sounds like a plan," Scarlet giggles as Fen comes up from the hold, "When's the next guild meeting?"
"Not for a while but it'll be on Titan, not here," Brom says as Fen hands a clipboard to Scarlet. "I'll send Whirlitzer around with your payment and to collect."

"My robot is on its way," Brom says over the radio phone, "I hope it won't disturb you too much. Blackstar out."

The shot would have killed the camel as the patrolman's aim was dead on except that the wolf brings his blade to interpose and angles it so that the energy bolt harmlessly hits the ceiling.
"So this is where you got to," Dirk Dodger growls as he switches to a cavalry saber, "You're betraying your training with this betrayal."
:Your people left me to die," Fenryx growls back, "left me to rot. I spent months in a Martian slave pit until I was bought..."
"Your class was recorded as slaughtered," Dirk rationalizes.
"Did you recover any of the bodies?" Fenyx challenges: "Or just the human dead?"
"You're out of line, Private!" Commander Dodger thunders.
"I'm no longer a soldier," Fenryx growls as he swipes furiously at Dirk Dodger with his sword, "And I doubt your kind is really welcome here."

When Dirk Dodger can see again he is surrounded by Saturn Syndicate with clubs including a couple of dwarves and at least one bear.
