Hey there, chapter 14 of the Illian tales is coming at you now. Since I've been drilling you with warning for the past few chapters, I'm pretty sure we all get the deal. I (and probably some of you) have noticed that the past few chapters were kind of short in comparison to the others, but hopefully I can fix that with this chapter.

After a full night's rest after experiencing his ordeal with Valecruiz, Markus and the others finally made their way inside the large cave near the Great Scar. As the band of five made their way to the cave, Markus noticed that Eon was unusually quiet today. Feeling that it was mostly his fault, he asked Eon to stay back for a moment to talk with him in private. When the others understood and were far enough away, Eon looked at Markus and said "What's up?"

Markus got unusually tense and said "Eon...is there any reason you've been so quiet lately? By now you would have jumped at the chance to question what kind of things we would find inside the cave."

Now Eon frowned and replied "Markus...it's about what happened yesterday."

"Thought so, look Eon, I'm sorry about what happened...I just..."

"It's not about the whole 'horns in chest' thing, it's just that...when I saw you like that, the way you and Valecruiz were working together, it made me scared."

"Scared, why?"

"Because I realized then that this was no joke, I may really lose my best friend, and I don't want to go through that again."

At this, Markus just sighed and said to Eon "Look...this isn't like back in the old days where Jessica and the two of us would cause trouble around Arcanus. The two of us have grown up Eon, and unfortunately, my fate is sealed, I'm going to lose my soul far earlier than you or anyone else will. Yet, your life is just starting Eon, and there is no point in wasting it worrying about me. Hah, you may even have to start thinking about marriage Eon."

Knowing Markus was trying to change the subject, Eon just frowned and said "Markus, just promise me that I won't have to lose you like I did with Jessica."

At this, a knot began forming in Markus's throat. Knowing that if he lied to Eon, it would just hurt them all later, Markus replied "I can't do that Eon."

"But why NOT?!? You've always had such a strong will, and with these past years it's gotten stronger, as well as other things like your ability to use magic..."

"EON, I may be strong, but Valecruiz is a thousand times stronger than I am. He uses his need to use my magic to keep him going because he knows that if he were to use anyone else, his spells wouldn't work. Whether it be Gree, Izilan, or even Everin himself that put Valecruiz inside my soul, it doesn't matter anymore, it just doesn't. You have to understand that I cannot stop Valecruiz from taking over, all I can do is postpone the day it happens. I thought I had at least three years left, but with what happened yesterday, I honestly don't know how long I have left. Eon, there is something I'm going to say to you, but you must, MUST keep this a secret between you and me and no one else, got it?"

"Markus but..."

Now Markus just snarled as he said "GOT IT?"

"Ye..Yes."

"Alright, good. As soon as Kia has the pup, I'm sending her away."

"What, but why?"

"Because I will not be the end for my mate and my child, that is the one thing I will stop from happening. Eon, I need to trust you to be the one to decide where she stays. It cannot be a place I know, like Terin, Arcanus, or even Scycrain. It must be a place that you and you alone know of. Before you ask, I'm saying this because when the time comes, Valecruiz will have access to everything I know, and if I know him, he will try and destroy everything I can use to fight back."

"Markus...I just don't know..."

"Eon...out of our entire lives, this is the only thing I have asked from you. Please, as my closest friend and dearest ally, do this one thing for me."

"Alright Markus, I'll think on where to keep them safe."

"One last thing Eon, no matter what, you must hold that information closer to you than anything. You must not let Valecruiz know, even if he uses me or my voice to try and persuade you, understood?"

"Yes."

"Good, now, let's catch up to the others."

Within an hour, the group had finally made it to the cave Reign had told them about. As they arrived at the cavern mouth, Kia looked at Markus and said "You think this old man will really be the Trinity Prophet?"

Markus looked down at her and replied "Probably not, but he may have some information on where to find the real one." With nothing more needed to be said, Markus, Kia, Eon and Oz entered the cave while Cyn took off to wait for the others until they returned. As they entered the cave, Markus could only stare in awe at the wonders this seemingly small place brought with it. The rocky walls were studded with multitudes of gorgeously colored gems and jewels, including ores such as Mithril and Crystal Tyrs. The ceiling was illuminated by small cave dwelling insects that glowed a calming blue light every couple of seconds. Finally, the floor was trailed with small shattered pieces of ore and minerals that still had the ability to reflect light in the most wondrous ways.

As Markus and the others followed the multicolored trail, Eon quickly used his SecondSight to look ahead and shouted to the others "Look up ahead, there's a small opening."

Markus began thinking to himself 'How can a small cave like this lead to another room? It doesn't make sense.' As they reached the opening, Markus's question stuck that much harder in his head. The new room was a large room with a sky-lit opening for a ceiling. The walls were still littered with the massive amounts of glorious jewels, but what was in the center of the whole room stunned the whole group. Standing in front of the four of them was a large, wondrously crafted three level fountain. At the base, perfectly refined crystals and jewels were embedded in the stonework, allowing the first level to collect more of the natural light and reflect it upon the world all the better. The second level of the fountain was smaller and thinner than the base, and was only decorated with a few assortments of jewels. Finally, the top level of the fountain was completely bare and from there the water shot up into the air and back down through a small, metal tube. As the four finally were able to think again, Oz turned to the others and said "How could something like this be all the way in here?"

For an unknown reason, Markus replied in a very depressed voice "It's dwarven, that's how the metal tube hasn't rusted yet. They enchant all of their metals and works with spells that cause them to work and shine forever, even long after the creator is dead. In a way, it's their 'little memento' for Illian."

A bit shocked, Oz asked Markus "How on Illian did you know all of that? I never taught you anything related to dwarven architecture."

Markus headed towards the fountain and said "It was the final thing Grimrock was able to teach me before he died."

Now all three of them looked at him in surprise and said "Grimrock?"

By now, Markus had made his way to the fountain and began tracing his right hand along the second level. When he traced his way all the way around the fountain, Markus gave a small laugh of remembrance and said "Grimrock was my companion in my first quest."

Still surprised, the three said in perfect unison "Quest?"

Markus looked at the three of them and said "Two years ago, when I had just fully learned how to use my Evizil powers, the former Alpha Male sent me, Uren and a stubborn dwarf named Grimrock on a quest to find and kill a Shade by the name of Mylarac."

Oz quickly butted in by saying "You mean that old hag who had tried to use the ghosts of Ealar and his fallen comrades to take over Arcanus?"

"The very same. Unfortunately, the day her plan was stopped, she escaped, and so it became our duty to end her once and for all. Anyway, about three months into our journey, it seemed as though we had hit a dead end. One day, we had a break when we heard that bodies from a graveyard somewhere near the town of Werix (Were-ix) were rising once again. Remembering that Mylarac had used the bodies of the dead humans in her attack on Arcanus, we knew it had to be her, and unfortunately, we were right.

When we confronted her, she had amassed a small army of undead, and with there being only three of us, we were really hard pressed. Yet, with Uren's help, Grimrock and I were able to kill Mylarac, which brought the bodies back to their former death. Sadly, the Shade's death came with a price. Just as she died, she threw a poisoned dagger at Grimrock, which nearly killed him on the spot. And as he was about to find his way to the Great Rock, which is their form of a final resting place, he gave me his collection of notes, which included many structures like this one."

Kia now jumped in and said "But what about the book? I've never seen you with it."

"After we returned, I let Uren take the claim to killing Mylarac, which promoted him to the rank of Alpha Male, and then I gave the book back to Grimrock's clan. Needless to say, I might have read a few pages of his book before giving it to them."

Now a bit uneasy at how to handle the situation further, no one spoke. To show that he didn't hold the experience against himself, Markus just let out a small laugh and said "Don't worry guys; I'm long over the feelings I felt when Grimrock first died. I honestly don't mind sharing that kind of thing."

Soon after, Kia responded to what Markus had said by saying "How come you've never told anyone about it then?"

Markus simply smiled and said "No one ever asked. But before we go on, I'll assume we've found our campsite for tonight, am I correct? Kia and I will head out to find any food and wood we can use, while Eon and Oz will search the cave for any other passages, and hopefully that old man we heard about."

With their orders given, the three responded with a "right" and began heading to their designated locations. As Kia waited by the cave mouth for Markus, she began thinking 'How much of his past is Markus hiding from me? Not once in our entire time together has he mentioned anything beyond the point when we first met.' Before she could think further, Markus walked up beside her and placed his arm around her shoulder. Afterwards, Markus and Kia began their search for any wood and food.

While Markus and Kia searched the nearby area, Eon was left with Oz to search the cave. After a very short time of searching the fountain room, Eon noticed another entrance way that looked oddly similar to the one they had entered. Wondering if Oz would know what to do, Eon turned around to face him and said "Think this place was used as a way to sneak between to places?"

"Maybe, question is, why would they need to? The only place south of the tip of the Great Scar is the Vertinan Sea."

"Hmm...well...guess there is only one way to see where it goes." As he finished, Eon began making his way through the new passageway. Not wanting to be left behind, Oz quickly broke into a run to catch up to the young man.

Within an hour of searching the new area, Oz and Eon quickly made the assumption that this passageway definitely crossed the small range of hills the cave started in, but still the one question that hung over both of their heads was why. After another hour of searching, the two finally saw light peaking its way into cave through a small cave mouth. As the two finally reached it, the area they saw beyond was purely stunning. Beyond their cave stood the Vertinan Sea in all of its glory, radiating a wonderful blue color as the bright afternoon sun stood proudly in the sky. What was even more surprising was that after a minute of looking around the beach that kept the sea from coming to land, Eon and Oz discovered a small village north of where they stood. Wanting to check out the village close up, Eon started heading in the direction of the seemingly quiet town. Yet, before he had even made it beyond the cave mouth, he felt a sharp pull against his collar as Oz pulled him back to where he had stood before. Not understanding why Oz had done that, Eon just shouted at him "What did you do that for?"

Oz simply snapped back "Because you were acting like a fool. Markus told us to only check the other passages in the cave, not what lied past them. We still have many other places to look, my young friend, and besides, you have no idea if those people are even friendly. You know as well as I do the Malar have made secret towns in the areas ruled by the Races of Light, and for all we know this could be one of them. If you want to check it out that badly, wait till Markus returns."

Knowing Oz was right, Eon just let out a small grunt of resistance and finally said "Alright, let's head back."

"Good boy."

As the hours passed, Eon and Oz found nothing else of interest in the small windings and detours the cave had to offer. When they knew their searching would be fruitless, they headed back to the fountain room to wait for Markus and Kia. Just as they arrived, the two saw a 6'8 Thrall with a coat the color of snow arrive through the large opening in the ceiling holding an extremely large cow, a bundle of wood, and Kia in its arms. As it landed on the ground next to the fountain, the Thrall put down its possessions and said "How did your search go?"

Oz simply replied "Well Markus, for the most part, it was fruitless, but as I'm sure Eon is dying to tell you, we found one important thing."

Now Markus simply smiled and said "Really? Well it just so happens Kia and I found something of interest also, but we can talk about it over dinner; for now however we need to prepare the cow and start getting a fire going." With that being said, Markus quickly gutted, skinned and dried the large cow as the other three started the fire. As Kia and Eon began piling the wood where the fire would be, Oz took in a deep breath and released it all as a massive streak of fire that instantly ignited the wood. With their fire ready, Markus quickly placed the remains of the large cow over a makeshift stand placed directly over the large fire. As the four waited for the cow to be ready, they began talking about what they had seen.

First, Markus cleared his throat and said "While we were searching for the food and wood, Kia spotted a large host of troops heading this way, they were carrying the banner of Bilamarsh."

Now Oz just nodded his head in thought and said "So Felix finally begins massing an army...he can't be seriously thinking on taking the two Greater Races as once, can he?"

Markus quickly replied "Honestly, I don't really know, what else is interesting is that they have a group of Vicen with them."

Now Eon jumped in by saying "The rat people? What on Illian could Felix be thinking by using a lowlife group of people like the Vicen?"

"Again, I can't honestly say, all we know is that they're searching for something, and it appears they are heading this way. That means we may not have as much time here as we think."

Oz entered the conversation once again by saying "How long till they get here?"

Markus shot back without thinking "At day at the least, so whatever we need here we should get now."

At this, Eon suddenly blurted out "We found a village."

Surprised, Markus's eyes widened as he said "What? Where?"

Oz released a loud draconic snort as he said "Through the large passage behind us. The whole thing leads to the Vertinan Sea, and north of that there is a small village. As far as we could see, there were no inhabitants, but then again we didn't search the place."

Now Markus replied "Good, who knows what could have been living there."

Soon after, Kia jumped in by asking "Do you think that village is what the army is looking for?"

At this, Oz was the one who answered by saying "Maybe, it isn't uncommon during warfare for the armies to search for nearby villages or cities they can control to gain the upper edge."

As the four talked, the sun slowly let its grip on the sky loosen, until finally it sank deep into the horizon. When Markus noticed this, he quickly stood up, brushed off his pants and his vest and said "I'm going to head out for a while, if anything happens, let me know."

Surprised, Kia replied "Where are you going?"

Now sounding anxious, Markus answered "Just need to get some fresh air."

Confused, Eon replied "Markus, there is a huge opening in the ceiling, how much more fresh air could you want?"

Now completely anxious, Markus accidentally snapped back "ENOUGH. Now, I'm sure you can handle yourselves for a few hours, am I right? I won't be long, I promise."

Just as he was about to head out, Kia ran up to him and embraced him in a large hug. As the two stood there, Kia told Markus "I'm coming with you."

"Kia...I."

"No Markus, from now on, I'm going to stay by your side. If you're going because Valecruiz is trying to control you, then let me help you fight him. I've been forced to do nothing but watch as he slowly rips you apart, well no more."

"Kia...alright, if you really want to do this, then hold on." With that, Kia held onto Markus as hard as she could as the two suddenly began soaring through the air as Markus jumped through the ceiling. Because Markus had been in the Thrall form the whole time, it took the two of them only minutes to reach a small group of trees that was at least 5 miles away from the cave mouth. When they had reached the group of trees, Markus put Kia down and finally allowed himself to fend off Valecruiz.

Obviously not happy that he had been forced to wait so long to control Markus's body, Valecruiz attacked in full force. Just moments after Markus let Kia off; the pain of Valecruiz's attack was so intense that Markus was left rolling on the ground writhing in pain and agony. As Markus let out large howls of torment, Kia realized what was happening and quickly rushed to his side. When she made her way to him, she knelt down, held Markus in place and pinned him down on the ground with a large embrace. Now squirming under her, Markus began shuddering as the two large horns made their way to the surface of his forehead once again. As the two of them noticed this, Markus simply yelled out "WHAT AM I??"

Knowing she had to calm him down, Kia made their embrace all the stronger and said as she started crying "You...you...your Markus Snow, Evizil of the Golden City of Arcanus, mate of my life and father of an unborn child."

As Valecruiz began making his ascent to power, Markus started shaking his head and replied "I can't be...none of this is natural Kia, what if...what if I really am a weapon, what then?"

Shocked that Markus was so close to giving in, Kia buried her head in his magnificent white coat and began crying as hard as she could. Through the muffled tears, Markus heard "You are...no...weapon Markus...that of which...I'm sure of. If you...were...were a weapon...I would have...would have never fallen in love with you...in the first...place."

Suddenly, Markus stopped squirming and writhing under her and from the deepest part of his gut Kia could hear large gasps making their way out; Markus had won the struggle. In between gasps, Markus was able to let out "This...is way too...much to bear. How...can Izilan...expect me to fight someone...as strong as Valecruiz?"

I don't know Markus, I just don't know. Just be glad that he stopped, if anything, hold on to that." Yet, just as she said that, Kia could literally feel the pulse Markus's soul was releasing as Valecruiz fought once again, this time stronger than ever. As he started thrashing underneath her, Kia just buried her head in his coat once again and cried out "Markus, you have to fight this, remember, I'm with you now."

As Kia and Markus fought for hours against Valecruiz, Eon and Oz were left alone with nothing to do. After a couple of minutes of being bored, Oz just snorted and said "I'm going to head out for a while; don't do anything stupid, ok?"

Eon stood up in complete surprise and said "Are you serious? Markus told us to stay here."

"Bah, I've got an errand to run, now I'm sure you can fend for yourself, or do I have to force feed you now?"

"No, I'll see you when you get back."

"Good" and with that, Oz was off. Now completely bored with nothing to do, Eon began throwing stones at the large fountain to see if he could make any scratch or dent in it, and unfortunately for him, he couldn't. After an hour of doing this, Eon decided to give up and was just about to head to bed when something amazing shot forth from the fountain. Suddenly, the metal tube in the fountain stopped shooting forth water, and instead fourteen large orbs of light came springing to the surface.

Eon had spent his entire life around magic, but this spectacle was by far the most stunning thing he had ever seen. Between the fourteen orbs, there were seven colors in total. From left to right, the color order went like this: blue, pink, green, orange, violet, yellow, red, and continued in this exact fashion for the seven other orbs. Just when he thought he couldn't be any more surprised, the orbs soon dissipated and revealed a person from each orb. From the blue orbs two large gecko males with scales a hue of bright blue emerged. From the pink orbs two very attractive vixens appeared with fur a color lighter than a rose, as well as a smile that could warm any heart. From the green orbs two dogs arrived, one of which seemed way too lazy for its own good, while the other just emitted a warming welcome that showed that he only wished to bring peace. The orange orbs on the other hand revealed two Evizil, with one of them being way too fat for its own good, where as the other seemed to just stand there with no expression on its face. From the violet orbs appeared two felines with fur as purple as plums and Eon couldn't help but noticed that one of the felines had extraordinary breasts, as least DD cups. As the yellows orbs dissipated, two skunks emerged to take their places. Finally, as the red orbs started to vanish, Eon saw two Millar appear with skin redder than blood itself. As the orbs disappeared and the new figures took their places, the blue gecko on the far right greeted Eon by saying "Hello child, my name is Pridus (Pride)."

Then the vixen next to him said "I am Enverus (Envy)."

From that point, the very lazy dog next to her said "I would be Acedia (Ack-see-da) (Sloth)."

A small grunt came from very large Evizil as he spoke out by saying "I guess you may call me Gula (Gluttony.)"

Next a very erotic purr came from the purple feline as she whispered "You can just call me Lustrin (Lust), sweetie."

From the yellow skunk next to her came a funny little laugh as he said "I would happen to be named Gredus (Greed) if you really care."

Out of the Millar next to Gredus came a stare filled with rage as he bluntly said "The name is Rilus (Rill-us) (Wrath), now don't talk to me."

Now, the blue Gecko that stood beside Rilus stepped forward and said "Child, my name is Liberus (Liberality), and it is good to finally meet you Eonarchanus."

From the vixen next to Liberus came a small squeak and a mumble that said "Just call me Deregus (Dare-eh-gus) (Diligence)."

Now the other green dog stood in full army salute as he barked out "My name is Valen (Valor), sir Eonarchanus, and may I say it is very nice to see you, sir!"

Now the other Evizil let out a great smile and said "Eon, it's so very nice to meet you in person, my name is Kinus (Kindness)."

Now the other feline, who was very small in body proportion to her twin sister, let out a small curtsy as she said "My name is Gene (Jean) (Generosity)."

Next the second yellow skunk came forward and said "The name is Parus (Patience) and you'll have to forgive my good for nothing brother over there."

Finally, the other red Millar smiled and shook his head as he said "My name is Humin (Hue-man) (Humility), and it is good to finally see you in person, Eon."

Now completely confused at what had just happened Eon was only able to let out "You...you're the..."

Now all fourteen arrivals said in perfect unison "We are the Fourteen Bound Ones, created by Gree in the first years of Ill and the fundamental emotions that guide your lives."

"But...but...what are you doing here, talking to me?"

Pridus stepped forward now and said "Eon, do you remember what your teachers taught you about the Fourteen Bound Ones?"

"Uhh...a little...I remember that they use to be actual living beings before they caused too much unbalance to Ill, so Gree had no choice but to bind them together with a spiritual chain that will never be broken. Also I remember that once every century, they come back to Ill to find an avatar who can act in their sake, but they cannot use the avatar to create a massive unbalance to the world."

Now Gene jumped up and down and clapped her hands together as she said "Wow...he's smart."

At this Lustrin let out a great smile and said "Eon...are you interested in sleeping with Markus at all?"

Completely taken aback by the question, Eon accidentally yelled "WHAT? YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS?!?"

In response, Lustrin just crossed her arms and pouted as she said "Hmph, well there goes my shot at getting a piece of that Evizil stud, but oh well...looks like its back to treating women."

As Pridus noticed that Eon was now completely lost in all of this, he simply raised his left hand as a command of silence and said to Eon "Look...we've come to you today to ask if you would become our avatar for 100 years. Now think hard Eonarchanus, this is no joke."

Realizing that he was being forced to make a decision that would ultimately change his life, Eon simply asked "Why me?"

Now Rilus just replied "Because you idiot, you've got the most potential out of this little "group" of yours besides Markus Snow himself, and Gree forbid we enter his head with Valecruiz there."

"What about Oz?"

Now Gredus jumped in by saying "We can't ask the race of dragons to become our avatar after the sacrifice they made during the slaughtering of the Sinan. If we ask Kia, Markus would find out and do something we can't afford at this time, so its all up to you, little Eon."

Suddenly filled with a sense of duty that he suspected Valen was filling him with, Eon nodded his head in agreement and said "All right, I'll do this under one condition; you give me the power to help Markus in any way I humanly can. I realize that Valecruiz is strong, but I won't abandon my only friend left on Illian."

Pridus just smiled as he said "Very noble of you Eon, alright, we'll agree to help Markus fight off Valecruiz as long as we can use your body as an anchor to this world."

Now Eon took out a small dagger from his pant leg pocket, formed a small cut on his palm and held his hand out to Pridus as a sign of acceptance. Knowing what to do, Pridus followed suit and shook Eon's hand, allowing their blood to mix and complete the deal. As they finished shaking hands, Eon noticed the fourteen people become tiny orbs of colored magic as they headed straight towards him. One by one the tiny orbs gently entered his soul until finally, the Fourteen Bound Ones were finally apart of him. As he squirmed and giggled as souls made themselves comfortable, Eon heard Pridus say into his mind 'Thank you child, with your help we can save Illian from Valecruiz.'

At this Eon replied 'No problem, just let me have control of my body for the most part, please?'

Eon heard a large laugh from Pridus as he responded 'As you wish, Avatar' and with that, the voices stopped.

As soon as Pridus stopped, Eon heard footsteps coming from the passageway that led to the Vertinan Sea and as the got closer, he realized they belonged to a female. As the footsteps reached the entrance to the fountain room, Eon was shocked to find a glorious bunny girl standing in front of him. The bunny had large, supplant breasts, as did most of her kind, strong hips, fur as brown as dirt, and overall a body most women would kill for. Suddenly, Eon was surprised as he heard Lustrin say 'Eon, would you allow me to show you what I can bring to the table?'

Fully enticed by the body of the young woman, Eon just thought back 'What did you have in mind?'

'Ah that's the sport, just watch and let old Lustrin work her magic.' When she finished, Eon could see a small purple shield trace around his entire body, which then pressed against his skin and fitted to his build.

A bit surprised Eon asked Lustrin 'What is this thing?'

Now the feline laughed as she said 'This is my Pheromone Shield, it causes the pheromones you males use to attract woman and increases them ten-fold, ensnaring any woman who gets close to you in their web. If you don't believe me, try it out.'

Knowing what she meant, Eon just smiled and made his way to the young bunny woman. As he got closer to her, she finally noticed him and greeted him by saying "Hello kind sir, I was just wondering if you...Oooh...what...what is that?" As she said this, Eon couldn't help but noticed that the young woman was already wet with desire. Giving an inward laugh, Eon just thought to himself 'Thank you Lustrin, I owe you one.'

Now that he knew he had her, Eon gently began stroking the woman's arm and said "What do you mean?"

Now the bunny tensed as her desire increased and soon enough she began panting. Through these Eon heard "This is...so wrong...I'm a married woman...I shouldn't be feeling things like this."

Eon gave a small laugh and said "But why not? If you're worried about your husband, I don't even know him, so it's alright to let yourself go. Now, I'm sure there is some way I can...relieve your tension?" As he said this, Eon slowly began making his way from her arm to the large mounds in her pretty red dress. When he got near them, he stopped and waited for the bunny to make the next move.

Now completely entangled in the pheromones, the bunny grabbed Eon's arm and began guiding him around her breasts. As she did this she was able to say "Oh please...for the love of Gree...take me."

Now Eon gave her a reassuring smile as he said "As you wish, my lady." With this, Eon quietly tore the dress from her breasts down so that her large orbs and her slick sex basked in the moonlit night. From there, he moved behind her and fully took control of her like a puppeteer would a marionette.
