My Story
The Group of regulars looked over at the wolf, sat in the corner of the tavern, wih his feet crossed upon the table, his upper body concealed in shadows, and the midnight blue tips of his otherwise jet black fur relecting the light. "He's been coming here for little over a week now, and we still dont know where he comes from or who he is" one of the group members, a large copper scaled dragon whispered to the others. the others around him nodded there heads in agreement "you reckon we should just ignore or try and find out who he is?" a panther in the group commented, looking over his shoulder to stare at the wolf, seeing two yellow eyes appear from the shadows staring directly at him and quickly jumping, meeping and staring down at the drink in his hands. after a few minutes in silence, they group jumped at the sound of music playing from the direction of the wolf, as the song played a slow, soothing tune, the group felt relaxed slightly and calmed, looking about the room they saw that the other patrons felt the same effect from the music. "how is he doing that? its so....unusual" a femal cougar purred softly. after admiring the music for a few minutes, after the copper dragon and his saphire coloured friend and the final member of the group, a wolf himself had exchanged a few words the wolf sighed. "fine ill go talk to him then" the wolf slowly stood up and nervouysly walked over to the shadowy corner, feeling immediately panicked as the music stopped and those yellow eyes fell on him "d-do y-you m-mind i-if" the wolf in the corner kicked a chair out not taking his eyes off the approachin wolf and leaned forwards into the light "not at all, take a seat"
as the group looked at the wolf, they saw his fur tips were all a midnight blue colour, some shades were darker on his forehead and shoulders making patterns and symbols on his fur, looking at his back they could see the hilt of a sword, with a large blue crystal held in place by steel claws. the wolf from the group slowly sat down and rested his arms on the table "so...w-we were...erm...wondering....just...who are you?...and whats your story?" the other wolf chuckled heavily and put the bass guitar in a case before sliding it under his chair, and grinned to the group "i wondered when the curiosity would snap you" he turned to the wolf opposite him "you want the full story or quick rundown?" the mysteriously wolf shook his fur while waiting for an answer, as it shook, the tips of his fur turned to a silver hue making the group stare baffled before it returned to its midnight blue sheen. the female cougar stared and quickly commented "full story! starting with that!" she said indicating his fur. the mysterious wolf chuckled and grinned "thats always the first question, but first things first, my names Dalthios, ive heard your names so no need to introduce yourselves, since birth my fur tips have changed colour to reflect my emotions, nobody knows why and if youve all got a drink ready then ill start" the wolf looked to each member of the group move slightly closer and pull a chair to the table "very well" Dalthios grinned his glistening white teeth shining bright
"shortly before i was born, my mother and father were cast out of our home and forced into exile, because they had a different belief to the rest of our people, when i was born they were living in a small wooden hut, while my older brothers and sisters were trying to find material to make better housing, from then till age 3 i remember nothing but i fi did that would be concerning" Dalthios chuckled lightly "but i know that as soon as i could walk and hold something in my hand firmly, my father taught me how to fight, with sticks and paws of course but taught me nonetheless, by age 7 i could beat all of my brothers and most of my older sisters but Davilia was always too fast for me. Anyway, while my father taught me how to fight, my mother taught me about her beliefs and about the God and Goddess who she did and i now do worship, and how through meditation, mental power and prayer we could call upon there help and could gain minor control over the elements" Dalthios paused to take a swig of whiskey from his tankard "thats why we were exiled from our village, apparently we were heretics for worshipping a spirit other than there 'god', the dragons of our village threatened to kill us all but the other villagers persuaded them into exiling us...for a while...on the day of my 8th birthday, my father presented me with a katana...this katana" Dalthios reached over his back and drew his sword, placing it on the table for the group to see, besides the strange hilt and wirds in a foreign language the group didnt understand it looked like any other katana the group had seen "when he presented it to me, i immediately rushed to the combat area we had made for practicing and stayed there for hours until i heard a scream....Davilias scream..." Dalthios closed his eyes and looked down, his fur tips shifted to a pale white colour, and the group guessed that white indicated fear or pain, the colour of his fur returned and he opened his eyes, sighing before continuing "when i got back home, the dragons from our village had come to kill us, my dad saw me and signalled me to hide...i did as he asked....shortly after i heard him scream, in a language only our family knew: no matter what you hear, you must hide and survive Dalthios....shortly after that, i heard a fire crackling and my entire family screaming, i couldnt bare to just sit there and not see what was happening so i turned around and peeked..." a tear rolled down Dalthios' cheek and there was a long pause before he continued "i saw them all hanging from a branch with there hands and feet bound, as the dragons breathed fire on them, burning mt father, my mother, my brothers and sisters alive, burning my family and my home to ash and laughing as they suffered...i shot back behind the trees and started crying...i made a prayer to my goddess and god...i cant remember what...but i know that a storm cloud formed n the sky as i muttered, and i know that rain downpoared heavily...i felt lightheaded as this happened, obviously using the elemental manipulation my mother had taught me about...the effort made me fall unconscious, when i awoke i stumbled out and saw the skeletons of my family hanging from a tree...i cried for a day but on the second i stopped, and my fur tips changed to red, i ran back to the village with my katana in hand and burst from the forest growling wildly, most of the villagers fled from me, but the dragons came out grinning at the fact the missing child had come to them...i dont know what happened after that, i blinked and there bodies were on the ground bleeding....dead...i was panting heavly and my katana was perfectly clean, but was glowing a shade of blue, simmilar to the crystal, the dragons bodies had been cleanly cut and the katana had no marks of even the slightest resistance from there scales, as the villagers came out...i fled" Dalthios took a few long gulps from the tankard and wiped his muzzle dry "after that, i just kept running from place to place, using my instincts and my prayers to the God and Goddess to survive.
eventually i stumbled upon a hidden temple, i was an academy for teaching martial arts of all forms to students, they took me in and enrolled me, but after 6 years i had mastered all of the courses and could beat any senior in fight, the academy said i was the most gifted student they had ever had and upon beating a master trainer from the academy presented me with a gift" Dalthios reached into his fur and pulled out a small barbed shruiken before stabbing it into the table, an area of 3ft around the shriken turned to ice, freezing the other wolfs paw to the table "shruikens of quick-ice" Dalthios pulled the shruiken from the table and it defrosted instantly, the wolf pulled his handpaws to him and rubbed them nervously, making sure no harm had come to them "they then sent me to an extremely secretive training camp, normally only reserved for kitsunes, i studied there for a month, learning may techniques and abilities, but when i refused to hand over my katana and shruikens, they kicked me out, after that i wandered around the world...
one problem arose though, while i was training, i was distracted, while i wandered i thought about my family and the dragons who killed them" dalthios looked to the two dragons "you will probably not wish to hear this, but if you do i will warn you now that if you attck me i will defend myself" dalthios placed his hand on his katana to prove his point "i eventually fell into a rampage when i saw a group f dragons picking on an old wolf, i attacked them without warning and killed them all, i didnt realise i was near a town of dragons and the guards came out to apprehend me or kill me, in my rampage....i killed the guards....i ran into the town and killed anybody who stood against me...i only stopped when i saw a female cowering hiding two children, when i saw the young dragon males eyes i froze...he was staring at me with complete fear...i immediately camled down and staggered backwards, merely saying: im sorry, im so sorry. before i fled the village... a oarty came after me and set everywhere i went on fire...after what happened to my family....fire terrifies me, when i see fire, i look into the middle and see my family burning alive all over again...i eventually made it to a village and ran through hoping to escape, the dragons were so furious they attacked the other village, i had no choice but to kill them, i wasnt going to let others suffer for what i had done and so i defeated them...the village praised me and called me ahero...even though it was me who put them at risk in the first place....apparently the village hated dragons almost as much as i did, tey made me a suit of armour from the dragons remains and presenteed it to me as a gift...i hated it....i held it only when they presented it to me then immediately but it in a bag and havent looked at it since...i can never get rid of a gift unless i present it to someone else, but who would want a suit of armour made from a dragon? its sickening...
after then, my hate for dragons is next to none, but im still uneasy around them..around you" dalthios nodded at the copper and sapphire dragons who hadnt reacted to the story "im always scared theyll attack me, or attack someone or ill attack them....but i havent in the last 6 years so thats pretty good...anyway...after then i moved around from town to village to city to hamlet...until i found this place...and im hoping i can finally settle down and live my life like a normal person" dalthios sighed and sat back into the shadows, from this close the group could see his outline laying back with his hand behind his head. the copper dragon moved slightly "how many dragons did you kill?" dalthios closed his eyes for a few seconds "28 and i seriously injured another 16" the sapphire dragon shuffled unesily
"Dalthios im sorry for what my brother and his friends did to you and your family" the group looked confused from the Dragon to Dalthios "it wasnt your fault Grelta...and im sorry for what i did to your home town...if your people still want there revenge they are welcome to it" Dalthios sat forwards again waiting for a reply "Dalthios my home town had agreed to destroying you and your family, they deserved everything they got and if they do try to attack you i will stand by your side" Dalthios grinned and leant forewards "well that settles the past and the present now doesnt it?" Dalthios tilted his head in question, and turned to face the bartender "and for the future drinks all around, on me!"
