Two Worlds: Burning Up (16)
#16 of Two Worlds (Finished)
The doctor cursed as he felt the boy's forehead once more.
...
The doctor cursed as he felt the boy's forehead once more.
It has only been an hour and the boy's body temperature has risen from the last time he felt him. This of course scared him, he never once had a patient in this bad of a condition where he couldn't do anything to prevent the symptom from getting worse. And yet, here he was standing in front of two bodies lying on two different tables with one who was dying, and the other who was in a coma. The boy was the Doctor's primary focus, he had lost too much blood from the stab wound he had gotten and it was proving vital. The boy's clothes had been removed down to the boxers, and still, he wasn't cooling down. The Doctor was beginning to get frustrated.
The Warrior next to the Doctor stood over his Comrade, his motionless body not moving from its position.
"We have to wake him up." The Warrior's voice was hard and cold, as if all emotion has been drained out of him and he was replaced by a new person.
The Doctor looked at the Warrior with worried eyes, his breathing had gone softer and quieter to not make the silence feel anymore awkward, "We can't." Replied the Doctor, his voice was softer now in the silence, "He has to wake up on his own."
"How long will that take?"
The Doctor wasn't prepared for that quick response, it nearly took him a few seconds to register and respond, "I do not know. It can happen at any time... We just have to be patient for a little while longer."
The Doctor knew that was going to be hard for the brawn Warrior standing beside him. Although he has noticed that the Warrior has at least some emotions, it wasn't enough for patience to take over. The room was getting too overwhelmed with many emotions, but they both knew that they had to keep it together. Because if they didn't...
...Someone will die.
Waking up to pain was one of the worst things Kevin could feel as his mind was beginning to come back from the black space he floated in. His eyes were blurry, not to mention they were stinging from the amount of pain that was building up in his head. It must have been the light shining from window, the grey aluminum glow from outside was just enough for him to have a migraine.
Wait a minute... Ceiling?
As his eyes became clear, Kevin managed to turn his head and find himself in his room, lying on his bed. The room was quiet, which probably meant his brother and parents weren't home yet, giving him enough strength to actually bend his lips into smile. Although he realized that this was the first smile he had without actually dreaming, it felt normal to be actually doing it. It was finally quiet enough for him to think alone in his room and just be able to relax, to listen to the soft patter from the rain hitting his window outside.
How long has he been asleep? It felt like he was sleeping for 8 hours because he felt energized and recharged from always crying and worried and thinking about himself being with Demetrius. It all felt like it was off his shoulders now, no more worrying about crying because Kevin was sure he wasted all of his body liquid into crying. But as Kevin moved his legs to reposition them, he felt them immediately become cold and damp.
Propping himself onto his arms, Kevin realized he was still wearing his clothes. They were damp from the rain outside but he was sure that wasn't why they were completely wet. The last thing he remembered was being tossed from a punch Demetrius threw at him, forcing him to hit the sidewalk and fall unconscious in the rain puddles.
But how did he get home? Did he walk home and manage to flop himself onto his bed and just fall asleep?
Kevin felt as if that was unlikely and sighed. There could be only one person who could have brought him home...
The door to his room clicked open silently and Kevin immediately looked over to see who it was. Someone wearing a heavy grey hoodie and baggy black pants walked in with a tray in both of their hands, shifting a bit to use their foot to close the door silently behind him. Or paw, that is...
Demetrius padded softly towards Kevin before looking up with those glacier blue eyes and finally noticing Kevin was awake. He stopped, though, about roughly 7 steps away from Kevin's bed and dropped his ears immediately, his pouting face following after them.
He was quiet but his expression said it all. Kevin didn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out because those eyes and ears just said it all.
"Hi..." Kevin was the first to speak, but it was more like a whisper so he wouldn't break the room's silence. The silence was just getting good but now it all felt too crowded, like as if he was back into the tight locker of suffocation.
"Uh...Hi." He replied in a whisper too, his body actions were as if he were a child getting caught for something he'd done wrong, moving his right foot and looking down at what he had in his hands. Realizing, he held it out immediately and took the few steps to place it on his bedside table. It was a tray of food made for him, bread and carrot sticks with water on the side.
Not much, but Kevin considered it was all he could do since Demetrius has never worked a microwave or toaster before. "Thanks..." He said, sitting himself up into a seating position and quickly regretting it after he winced from the migraine. He brought his hand up to his head and was shocked on how hot it was getting. Was he getting a fever?
Demetrius noticed and spoke quickly afterward, "Ah, here," He moved towards Kevin but stopped about two steps away from him, looking him in the eyes as if he was asking permission to step closer to him. After what just happened, Demetrius was sure to understand if Kevin said no.
Kevin took a few seconds to look into those glacier blue eyes, and then made his mind up immediately.
He nodded.
Demetrius then knelt by the Human, grabbing his pillow and padding it down so Kevin could be more comfortable while he ate his food. But Kevin wasn't hungry. Looking into his eyes, Kevin gave the Husky a small smile for the nice gesture.
"You're getting sick..." He blurted it out so suddenly that Kevin wasn't sure if he even saw the smile.
Kevin looked away and shifted a bit, his damp clothes rubbing against his skin and making him a little cold. Shivering Kevin replied, "No I'm not..."
It was a lie, and Kevin knew Demetrius was already on to him, "I carried you home, Kevin." He said silently, still knelt down by Kevin's bed and now looking at the floor, as if the floor was the only place he could look at, "When I placed you on your bed, my hand grazed your forehead. It was hotter than normal." He shifted his weight and then looked around the room, "We should get you in bed."
Kevin did realize he was only lying on his bed, not inside the covers where he would be warm. Considering, Kevin finally looked at Demetrius who was now looking Kevin in the eyes. "Yeah... I do feel a little sick."
"Then here," he pulled Kevin slowly off his bed and stood him up, "We should get you out of those clothes. They're cold and damp for you to wear, anyway."
Kevin's world seemed to spin a little, which made his balance a little shifty. Demetrius put his hands on his shoulders and immediately sat him down on the edge of his bed afterward. "Sorry," Said Kevin, "I'm just a little dizzy right now. I don't want to move too much right now."
"Well," Demetrius sighed and looked at Kevin's wet clothes, they were cold right now and it made the Husky shiver from it, "We have to get you out of those clothes. Are you able to move just a little?"
Kevin took a minute to answer, lifting his hands to his shirt and lifting it up to try and strip it off, but his head spun too much that he winced and dropped it. Signing in response to Demetrius as a 'no'.
"Then, may I..." He paused but it was more like it was dragged into a question, "May I help you?"
He was asking? This was Demetrius; his now ex fiancée and Kevin knew he could trust him well enough to have his clothes stripped off in front of the Husky. But then he thought of what happened earlier. Demetrius beat Kevin into a pulp that it forced him to become unconscious and unaware of everything until now. But Kevin was sick and worrying about that would have to be another time. Kevin just needed to get out of these clothes and into some panamas.
Kevin nodded and looked Demetrius in the eyes. This let the Husky have permission to reach slowly at Kevin's shirt and lift it up over his head, its fabric still sticking to his skin and it almost felt like Demetrius was peeling it off. Kevin never said anything as he lifted his arms slightly over his head for the shirt to finally come off.
Demetrius couldn't help but smell Kevin's scent as his shirt slipped over his head, the dampness of his scent was a new scent that had his nose twitching as he was trying to identify it. Kevin just pretended like he didn't notice, even if he let the Husky know he noticed, it would probably make it all more awkward which by now was something he didn't want to do. Demetrius took it all in and tried not to get noticed by Kevin, taking small peeks up at Kevin's bare chest before he realized that his hands were already working on the pants button. He was now this far into stripping off Kevin and--
--and what? You would then grab Kevin into a kiss and take off your clothes and get rid of the bulge in your pants? Thought Demetrius as he was now unzipping Kevin's pants and seeing his boxer briefs underneath, Get real, man, your over with him. There is no marriage and there is no way in hell you are going to get involved in this again.
But Demetrius wasn't even sure if he was prepared to handle the next part as he started yanking on Kevin's pants slowly, watching them slid off inch by inch and revealing his thighs and legs. The scent was now beginning to be stronger, and Demetrius liked it.
Now all that was left was the boxer briefs.
Taking a breath, Kevin knew that this was going to be the hard part. Not only was Kevin getting a little aroused--and the bulge in his boxers were beginning to show proof--but Kevin was actually getting scared. The word 'gay' was still screaming in the back of his head, but who was watching? Who was here to tell him it was wrong? Who gave a rats ass if Kevin was in love with the warrior kneeling in front of him? Why does everyone's opinion have to matter?
Kevin knew for fact that in his gut he was surely in love with Demetrius. Aside from the fact that they had a fight and that they went through a Separatism Ritual, Kevin was sure it was a stepping stone in this relationship. And in every relationship, there was always a fight to show the other side to their partner.
Now Demetrius was sliding Kevin's boxers off, leaving Kevin completely exposed. The scent just immediately filled the Husky's nostrils and it reminded Demetrius of the night they made love in the castle. It was their first time in actual physical sex. Not to mention it was Kevin's first time and Demetrius was the one who took his virginity in the first place, so has seen Kevin naked before.
But not in daylight.
Clearing his throat, Demetrius looked away before he would get more aroused with the view, trying to ignore the slight erection Kevin forgot he had. "There..." He sighed and it made it hard to not take a peek at Kevin's body, but Demetrius did and for a moment, he was enjoying what he was peeking at.
Until he saw something he doesn't remember seeing before.
"How did you get this?" He asked, lifting his finger to a large white scar on his stomach, immediately making Kevin force in his breath in a hiss. Looking down Kevin's eyes opened wide and he now remembered what happened before he came to his world.
"I...was stabbed!" He replied. The burning sensation finally leaving as Demetrius lifted his finger away.
"What? Who stabbed you? Kevin?" Kevin's eyes twisted to the back of his head and he fell backwards onto his bed, Demetrius leaned forward with his body and leaned over him, putting one knee up on the bed beside Kevin's pelvic bone to support himself up while he held Kevin's shoulders, "Kevin! Kevin don't black out on me! Who stabbed you?"
Kevin's head tilted to the side.
"His body is burning up again!" The Doctor got some wet fabric and placed it on the boy's body, having him rushing at a pace that the Warrior next to him was beginning to shake from the tension. If a doctor was rushing, than that meant this was serious, so the Warrior just stayed out of his way and tried to help as much as possible.
The Warrior helped the Doctor place the cold fabric onto the boy's body, his hands grazing his skin and feeling how hot his body temperature was getting. It was hotter than anything he felt before. "How is his body burning up this fast, it's only been two hours?" he asked, glancing at the Doctors worried expression before focusing on what was in front of him.
"I've stopped the blood from bleeding out of his wound, now. So he must have lost a lot of blood. He needs blood in order to restore his natural body temperature!" Yelled the Doctor, stopping to look into the Warriors eyes; if the boy were to get blood, then that would mean...
"Are you crazy?" The Warrior stopped as well, his stare was hard now as he leaned on the table to look more intimidating to the Doctor, "Where the hell are we going to find someone in our world who will share blood with a Human?!"
"Well," The Doctor said, imitating the Warriors gesture and having a lot more anger in his stern stare, "call me crazy, if you must, but I think we both know who that certain someone is!"
