I didn't know what to say. What could I say? Everything that I have known about Kyle was a lie. Kyle, or whatever his name is looked at me with his sad eyes waiting for my reaction. I didn't have one. I was just confused by everything going on. I did the only thing that my body could do.
"What?" I asked. I knew what he said, I didn't need any clarification, but that was the only thing that I could think of saying.
"I'm sorry that you have to hear it this way," the otter said, "but I need you to hear me out right now."
A part of me wanted to walk away from him right then and there, but a bigger, more curious, part of me wanted to get some answers. I nodded and he led me to the bench and we sat down. A moment of silence passed as I waited.
He began, "First of all, my real name is Logan, Logan Franz."
"Is Cole actually your brother?" I asked.
He answered, "Yes, Cole is actually my brother, but his real name is Robbie."
"So, uh, Logan," I said. That name seemed so weird to say to him, "What happened?"
Logan took a deep breath and looked down towards the concrete beneath us as he recalled his past. "It all started about three years ago. Our family lived in Houston, Texas in the backside of the city. My father was a heavy drinker and my mother was an addict. I had to care for Robbie as much as possible. I had been planning for me and Robbie to run away from home when, one day..."
***************
"When are you going to do it?" The light colored cheetah asked as he made a left turn at the intersection. The cheetah's name was Sam; he was Logan's one-again-off-again boyfriend.
"I don't know." Logan answered, "I haven't found a good place for Robbie and I to live where my parents wont find us."
"Just be careful when you do," Sam said, "I know we've had our problems, but I'm worried about you and Robbie."
Logan didn't say anything to this, he just glanced out of the car window watching the other cars and buildings pass by. Nothing else was said until they reached Logan's apartment complex. As soon as the car came to a stop, Logan unfastened his seatbelt and climbed out of the car. He said goodbye to Sam and Sam drove off.
The cloudy sky blocked the sun a bit and made everything look like it had a shade of grey coloring to it. Logan pushed open the front metal gate that served as some sort of crap security to it. It creaked as Logan opened it and as it closed. Logan made his way up the stairs to the scratched up door that read 2B. Logan pulled out a key and inserted it. With a little pit of persuasion, the key turned and Logan turned the knob and stepped inside.
The place looked like a typical rundown apartment. They had a couch in front of a twenty-inch television that was about ten years old. Possessions were tossed around the place and it always had a funny smell to it. There was nothing really special about the place. It wasn't absolutely shitty, but it wasn't a dream place either.
Logan took about two steps in when he heard his father yell out, "Logan, come here into my room now."
Logan rolled his eyes, as he expected to hear his father yell and blame him for things that happened that day even though there was no way it was true. He stepped into the bedroom and didn't see his father. All he saw was Robbie sitting in one of the kitchen chairs. The fur below his eyes were wet obviously from crying and he had a defeated look on his face.
Just as Logan was going to run over to Robbie, the door behind him slammed shut. With a jump, Logan turned and saw his father with his paw on the door. His father, wearing black shorts and a white tank top, had a scowl across his face.
"Is it true?" his father asked in a serious tone.
"Is what true?" Logan asked unsure of what his father was talking about.
"Don't play games with me!" his father yelled, "your mother told me that you're a faggot. Is it true?"
Logan didn't answer. He looked at his father and let his father find the answer out on his own. His father's eyes narrowed and took a step closer to his son.
"You ungrateful bastard! With who? It's that Sam fag isn't it."
"So what?!" Logan yelled, "You never gave a shit about me, why do you care?"
Logan's father raised his paws and grabbed Logan by his shirt and shoved him against the wall. "Don't you fucking talk to me like that boy."
Logan grimaced in pain from colliding with the wall. Logan looked at Robbie who still remained in the chair with his paws behind his back. The tears returned to Robbie's eyes as he watch his older brother beaten by his father.
"Why is Robbie even here?" Logan asked.
"Because I'm teaching him a lesson. A lesson that teaches what happens to fags like you." Logan's father said as he stepped closer to Logan. He grabbed Logan and threw him on the bed. "I'm going to straighten you out, literally." His forceful paws grabbed Logan so that he couldn't move. "So, you like up that ass don't ya, well I'm gonna make sure you remember this."
Logan felt his father's paws rip his shirt off and then grab his shorts and pull them off as well as Logan realized what his father was going to do.
"No!" Logan yelled, "Please don't do this!"
Logan felt a punch in his right side after yelling this as his father said, "Shut the fuck up you fag! This is what you deserve."
Logan's heart started racing as panic took over, he couldn't find a way out of the inevitable. He looked behind him and saw his father lower his shorts showing his erect cock in the air.
Logan tried again, "Dad, please don't-"
His father pressing his manhood against Logan's virgin hole cut him off. Logan tried his best to resist, but his father's strength was too much for him. His father pushed himself in. Logan shouted in pain as his father penetrated him. Logan felt a paw on his head as it was shoved into one the pillows muffling his shouts.
"Shut up will ya? Wouldn't want to disturb the neighbors," his father said.
Logan could do nothing but lay there helplessly as his father pushed all of his length inside of him. Logan managed to turn his head and saw Robbie crying and keeping his eyes closed.
"Open you eyes Robbie!" their father shouted and Robbie slowly opened them, "I want you to watch me do this so that you will remember what will happen to you if you follow in your brother's pawsteps."
Logan's father continued to thrust into Logan. Logan's insides were hurting from being stretched so forcefully and the knowledge of his own father was raping him made the emotional pain even worse.
"Hopefully, every time you're with a guy, you think of this," Logan's father said, "and then you'll stay away from other queers."
Logan closed his eyes and tried to think so something else. Something that would take his mind away from what was happening, but no matter what thoughts came to his mind, it was never enough to drive away reality.
Robbie and Logan made eye contact for a second. Robbie looked so scared sitting there unable to move or look away as his father continued thrusting into Logan. Logan wanted to reassure his brother and tell him that everything was going to be all right, but he didn't believe that himself.
The door to the bedroom opened and Logan didn't see who it was, but he found out when he heard his mother start to yell, "What the fuck are you doing?! Get off of him! That's our son!"
"Get out of here bitch!" his father yelled throwing an object that Logan couldn't see. It crashed into the wall. "I'm teaching him a lesson."
"Mom!" Robbie cried, "Make dad stop!"
Logan heard rushing pawstep behind him and then heard the door shut as he guessed his mother ran out with Robbie. At least he won't have to see this anymore.
"Fuck 'em. They don't need to be here. You're my bitch now," his father said as picked up speed.
Hearing those words from his father's muzzle and the pain that wouldn't go away from his father having his way with him made Logan feel completely hopeless. Logan buried his face in the pillow and cried. He stopped resisting what his father was doing. All he could do was pray that it would stop.
"Say that you're my bitch" his father commanded pounding into Logan with even more force.
Logan remained silent.
"Say it!" his father said with more force and accompanied by a smack in the back of Logan's head.
Logan's spirit was completely crushed at this point. He just wanted to feel as little pain as possible. He lifted his head a little off of the pillow and said, "I-I'm your-"
Just then he was cut off. The door sprung open and about five to six officers stormed in. Logan's father's grip got stronger onto Logan's midsection, but a couple of the officers pulled him off of Logan and forced him to the ground, immediately pawcuffing him.
Logan fell forward onto the bed and curled up as he heard his father's arguments to the policemen. He turned around and saw the room filled with a bunch of strangers in police outfits. Logan put his paws over his groin to hide his nakedness from the various furs in the room. One of the officers picked up Logan's shorts and handed them to Logan who quickly grabbed them with shaking paws and hastily pulled them up to his waist.
The officer knelt down next to the bed. "Young man," the officer said, "are you alright?"
Logan shook his head, "No, my f-father, he r-raped me."
"It's okay now," he said, "It's over, you're safe."
Logan wrapped his arms around the stranger and cried into his shoulder. Everything that just happened completely traumatized him and he let it all out. The officer didn't move; he let Logan recover as much as he could.
The arresting officers led Logan's father out of the apartment as he yelled, "Burn in hell you faggot! You're no son of mine."
Once his father was out of sight, the officer that Logan was still holding onto got up and led Logan slowly out of the apartment. Logan stared off in space as he let his body go into autopilot down the stairs and out of the building to an arrangement of police cars and an ambulance. Logan was halfway to the ambulance when he heard, "Logan!"
Logan looked over and saw Robbie running over to him. They embraced as soon as Robbie got close enough. The moment they shared then was unlike any other; neither of them wanted to let go. Once they let go of each other, Robbie started tearing up again.
"Logan, I'm so scared." Robbie said through the tears.
"I know Robbie," Logan said, "Me too, but it'll get better."
Logan didn't really believe the words he said. After what just happened, he felt like things were spiraling out of control and that somehow, it was his fault. Maybe if he weren't gay, then none of this would have happened. Just then he saw the police car with his father in it driving away. That's when it hit him; it wasn't his fault at all. The only blame was his father's and now he was gone. For however long was unsure though.
"Promise?" Robbie said wiping his left eye.
"Promise."
***************
"Oh my God," I said. "Kyle, I mean Logan, I'm so sorry."
I put my arm around him to try to comfort him the best I could. The tears in Logan's eyes made his eyes glisten, but he seemed to maintain himself. He sniffed a couple of times.
"I'll never forget that day," he said, "I still have nightmares. Sometimes I wake up yelling and covered in sweat." The tears came out of his eyes slowly. "I was a nervous wreck for the next couple of days. I'd have uncontrollable fits and it scared my brother, and seeing him so scared made me even more depressed. After a week passed, I was asked to testify against my father..."
**************
"Could you please state your name for the record?"
"Logan Franz" I said.
The goat, the prosecuting lawyer, walked up to where Logan sat, "Could you please tell the court of the events that took place on the date of April the twelfth, two-thousand and eight?"
Logan leaned forward closer to the microphone, "I came home that day from a friend's house when I was called into my parent's bedroom. I entered the room and saw my brother Robbie in there. That's when my dad confronted me."
"What did he confront you about?" the goat asked.
Logan was scared to answer, but he knew he had to tell the truth if it meant that his father would be locked up. "He found out that I was," Logan paused, "that I was gay. He said that he was going to 'straighten me out' and that Robbie was had to watch it so that he would know what happens to gay people."
"Then what did he do?"
"He threw me on the bed, ripped my clothes off and-" Logan paused as he closed his eye and choked up a bit. The room was silent as they waited for Logan to continue. "He raped me, my father raped me and made my brother watch."
Logan then put his face in his paws and cried. After a moment passed he looked up with his eyes red and he started breathing heavily as he continued, "he wanted me to call him his bitch as he hit me" Logan's sobs made it hard for people to hear him clearly, but they knew what he said.

Logan's father was incarcerated. Logan hoped that his father would be locked up for a long time. A sentence had yet been administered, but Logan didn't care. At the moment he and Robbie had to meet with some of the officers at the station. Neither Logan nor Robbie knew why though.
They entered the station and were led to one of the meeting room. Inside Logan and Robbie saw their mother sitting in there. She had obviously been crying. Once Logan and Robbie entered the room, she ran to them and gave them a big hug.
"I'm so sorry for all that's happened," she said, "and I'm sorry my addiction has put you through this rough time, but I'm going to make this right."
Just then, a vixen in a black suit walked in and set a folder with paperwork inside on the table. She walked over to Logan.
"My name is Ms. Waltz," she said, "I'm a representative of the Witness Protection Agency."
When hearing the words 'Witness Protection Agency' Logan blinked a couple of times, he looked at Robbie who didn't seem to understand and then to his mother who began crying again.
"I know this is hard to hear," Ms Waltz continued, "but your mother decided that it is best for you to enter into the program for your safety. I will leave you to say goodbye to her." She then turned around and headed back out of the room and closed the door behind her.
"What does she mean?" Robbie asked Logan.
Logan was still in disbelief, "It means, that we are leaving and are getting new identities. It also means that we have to say goodbye to Mom one last time."
Robbie's eyes flung open. He ran to his mother and hugged her. "I don't want to leave you."
Their mother hugged back crying slightly, "I'm sorry, but I can't take care of you anymore, this is what's best for both of you."
She let go of Robbie and then hugged Logan. "I want you to take care of Robbie," she said, "I love you guys so much, which is why I have to do this."
"I know this is hard," Logan said, "but thank you Mom."
The three of them shared one last embrace before their mother walked to the door. She stopped at the opening and looked at Logan. Logan looked back and gave a soft smile. His mother returned the smile and then stepped out into the hallway, never to be seen again.
Ms. Waltz walked in and closed the door behind her. She took a seat at the end of the table and instructed Logan and Robbie to do the same.
"We've already packed up your stuff," she began, "you will be put on a plane and flown to your new home in Virginia. You will be living with a loving otter couple there who are aware of the situation and are going to be your new parents." Ms. Waltz turned to me, "your new name will be Kyle Grey."
******************
"So then we flew here to Virginia and started our new lives," Logan finished.
I sat there with my paws clasped together as I listened to Logan finish his story. Once he finished, I took a deep breath as I thought about all that he said about his horrible past.
"So," I said, "what should I call you, Logan or Kyle?"
"Call me Kyle," he answered, "It gives a separation from the past. Plus I still have to be Kyle to everyone else."
I nodded in agreement. I felt Kyle's paw on my shoulder, and saw that he gave a small smile. I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him. The kiss told Kyle that I was here for him and that he was safe with me.
Once we separated, Kyle seemed to ease up a bit, but then got a serious expression back, "you understand that no one, and I mean no one, can know about this. I wasn't suppose to tell you, but if the news gets out to the wrong people, then Cole and I will have to be relocated."
"I understand," I said as I stood up, "come on, let's go check up on Mike again."
Kyle stood up and took my paw in his as we headed back into the doors of the hospital.
