Passionate Escape Chapter 1
Keith grinned as he crossed the bridge that led into Panama City, Florida. He had gotten his first look at the vast ocean in what were most likely years, being that he lived so far away from it. He found his attention was grasped by the wondrous, sparkling waters at the most inopportune times, almost slamming his car into the backside of another vehicle whilst his gaze was focused elsewhere. There were boats out on the bay, some pulling water skiis behind them while others just powered through the waves. He had remembered how much he wanted to own a boat as a youngling, loving the thought of cruising through the tides in a luxurious yacht while onlookers admired from the shore. He chuckled to himself; kids had such silly dreams of bravado and glamor. His life had taken a much different turn, bringing him into the hectic world of corporate interests and endless documents that needed but one signature and a hell of a long time to read. The pay was good but he had grown quite bored of the repetition and monotony of the same actions day in and day out. He wanted to add a little spice to his life for a few days, so he figured the beach would be a decent place to start. Tropical weather had always helped him to clear his mind, not to mention visits to a certain someone in the area. He was looking forward to those the most.
His blue Camry pulled into the parking lot of the Neptune's Kingdom hotel, a luxurious five star establishment. Money was no issue, as he raked in more than enough from his job to indulge every so often. He slipped on a pair of black shades as he exited his vehicle, locking the door with the simple click of a button as he strode off towards the entrance. He breathed in the air, noting the traces of sea salt and rotting seaweed that he had come to expect. The aroma was oddly calming, familiar, and welcoming. He had many good memories in this city, staying here had helped him sort out many difficult situations in his life. He had stayed at this hotel many times before; it was a habitual retreat for him. The quality of its premises and services was also a strong draw, being one of the best places to enjoy a vacation with the family or in solitary. He thought to the upper room he had reserved on the 13th floor, it had a marvelous view of the ocean as the sun was setting or rising. Such simple pleasures he found to be the most enjoyable and lasting, something almost symbolic to him. The door slid open as he approached, revealing a long red carpet with golden trim along the sides that lead to the interior lobby, therein containing a golden chandelier with a silver finish. The inside was slightly darker than a usual hotel, with many sets of smaller lights used to set an overall mood. Keith reveled in darker environments, where his natural night vision came into effect. His eyes seemed to glow green as light sources reflected off his irises, attracting the curious gazes of a few residents. He approached a desk, immediately recognizing the anthro Doberman behind it. She threw a glance his way and grinned, tapping her well-trimmed claws along the wooden surface of the large desk's surface. He crossed his arms along the top, swaying his tail behind him as his eyes locked with hers. He remembered her quite well, as she had been the clerk for the hotel over the years that he had visited this place. He could smell her blueberry perfume before he even entered the building, an aroma he was all too familiar with. She immediately bounced up and leaned close, sniffing his slightly alien-esque scent. She had never gotten quite used to his particular scent, as he had only stayed there two weeks at a time whenever he went on vacation. He flicked his tail and tilted his head at her, waiting for her to continue.
"I must have lost track of time, could have sworn it usually takes you a bit longer to get here." she said as she leaned down on both elbows, clasping her hands together. He smirked and arched his back slightly, causing an audible crack as undid a kink in his muscles. He sighed loudly in relief and leaned in a bit closer.
"I booked an earlier flight and slept most of the trip here, was quite pleasant. Wanted to get here as soon as I could." he trailed off as he looked into her eyes for a few moments. Memories came flooding back. "Didn't want to keep you waiting any longer."
Amy blushed a bit, folding her canine ears back to more easily sell her embarrassment. She remembered what a smooth talker he was, able to impress her easily with his words. He knew what she liked to hear, and he loved watching those cute ears folds back. They both giggled for a few solitary moments before he put his hand atop hers, the smile of a reunited lover upon his muzzle. She wagged her stubby tail instinctively, rubbing her other hand over his arm. They were glad to see each other again; it had been many months since they had last physically seen one another. They had been keeping contact via phone and instant messengers, helping to tide them over till they would meet again.
"I have some news for you." he said as he gazed at the scar below her left eye. The cause of that blemish made rage build inside him, that something so horrible could happen to a lady like her. He averted his eyes and looked down as she turned her head a bit.
"Can it wait till tonight dear? It's been a pretty busy day, don't want to keep anyone waiting." she flicked her eyes to indicate that others were behind him. He turned and frowned, seeing that a small line had formed behind him. He shuffled in place and leaned forward once more, nuzzling her snout affectionately.
"Then may I have the keycard for the room miss Amy?" he asked innocently, watching her grin and nod. She turned back to her computer and began accessing his information, checking his credentials and early reservation payments. He had paid for the room two weeks beforehand; he liked to make a habit of getting things done early. Amy had gotten used to him completing things earlier than usual; she'd always call him an overachiever. He viewed it as avoiding procrastination, something he did quite a bit of when he was in college. After she checked all his info she got up to fetch his card, walking through a nearby door. Keith noticed that her body seemed a little more toned than last time, as if she had been exercising more often. He felt a familiar urge within him as he watched her walk off, a primal lust he was all too familiar with. It had been so long since they were last together, and it had been hard on both of them. He had resisted delectable temptations time and again, wanted to focus on her and on making their relationship last. Those many lonely nights were worth the few passionate ones he was able to share with her from time to time. He had a feelings things would be a little different this time.
He ascended the finely carpeted staircase up to the elevator, clutching the keycard tightly. He wanted to get acclimated in his room and change into more comfortable attire, namely shorts and a t-shirt. He had grown absolutely sick of proper business suits day in and out; here he would have a more open taste in clothing. He wanted to appear professional when he arrived at the hotel, but he couldn't give two shits about how he was dressed after that. This was his damn vacation, and he was going to enjoy it any way he saw fit. Lights gleamed off the surface of the golden elevator door brightly, as did anything else made of fine metal in the vicinity of the numerous lights and large chandelier. He clicked the down button and smiled, remembering how long it took for his vision to adjust when he first came to this place. The gleaming surfaces threw off his night vision momentarily whenever he entered the building. It was quite unique and literally blinding at first. First impressions were important to the Kingdom, and its blatant display of wealth did not disappoint. The air was thickly scented with various spice-like essences, culminating into a pleasant and relaxing overall scent to the interior. Keith associated the smell of spice with something else, and someone else to be exact. His mind flicked to her, remembering sensations and pleasures that had been not felt by him for so long. His groin stirred, causing him to move his concentration to other things. He blinked and chuckled as he realized the elevator door had been open for several seconds, his deep contemplation nearly blocking out the effect of all outside stimuli. He shook his head and quickly stepped inside with a few others who quickly ran into the small space. He let them push in their floor numbers first, politely greeting them. He had manners even to strangers, a trait that had gained him many friends in life and also helped him receive a couple promotions where he worked. The door closed after he casually pushed in the 13th floor button. A ding sounded as the elevator began ascending, moving a little faster than he remembered last time. He closed his eyes and leaned against the back wall, letting the possibilities of the coming days wash over him. The stop at each floor awoke him from his thoughts, watching the people he just met fade out of his life as they stepped out. Soon he was the only one left as the elevator took him to his destination. He made a mental note to go back to his car and retrieve his bags, for now he simply wanted to get to his room and take a long nap. The final ding sounded and the platform came to a halt, the doors opening to reveal a magnificent view of the city before him. He knew that it would be even more breathtaking at night, and he couldn't wait. With a drawn out yawn he stepped off and headed to his room, his thoughts beginning to scatter as exhaustion took hold.
