Cyber Furres Ch 2
#1 of Cyber Furres
Warning: 18+ Gory Stuff
-There was the sound of beeping and liquid gurgling and the rush of air through a machine.
-There was the smell of burnt flesh, bone, and metal.
-There was the taste of blood.
-Then there was light.
-There was no pain...
Tobias' shriek became the focus of the room as he awakened for the second time in the lab like room. That of his body which was not shattered or broken struggled against the supports that held him into place on the wall. He tried to move his muzzle but it was bound by some kind of plastic casting. There was a sharp gust of air in his mouth when he tried to inhale through his teeth, failing to realize there was a huge gap where his pearly white canine teeth use to be. The heart rate monitor jumped when he looked down to see his once athletic body lying mangled on the suspended medical block, his arms and legs looking like bags of skin with clumps of dust inside. Due to some miracle, he could not feel any pain. He couldn't feel much of anything despite that most of the insides of his crotch were either missing or hanging on the outside.
The lights dimmed around him, allowing his eyes to focus. As his heart rate slowly dropped and he became calm, he noticed the right side of his vision seemed slower to adjust, taking in numerous other factors going on in the room. Then, as a shadowy figure approached, Tobias tried to lean forward, suddenly shocked and frightened by the tugging of wires that held him there. Turning his head as best he could, fear shot into his eyes when he saw that these wires were implanted into his head, two large flaps of his skin and pieces of his skull pulled open by a pair of metal pincers. For the first time he felt pain in his jaw as he tried to demand what was going on. He whimpered hard and went back into silence, clenching his left eye as a tear ran through the red and white fur on his cheek, a pair of clamps holding his jaw in place.
"Please try to remain calm Tobias... I'm here to help..." Tobias didn't move after the kangaroo in the white spoke about helping him. Opening both his eyes, he thought to himself, "Is he a doctor?" He suddenly looked around when his very thoughts were projected through a speaker. The kangaroo nodded, "Yes, I am a doctor. My name is Dr. Flare. I am a professional in cyber-organic technology...and I wish to help you, Tobias." Tobias looked the roo over as best he could before thinking, "Why doesn't it hurt, doctor?" The roo thought for a moment before motioning towards his computer, "At the moment, you are connected to my computer. Essentially I've bypassed many of your nerves to prevent any unnecessary pain. The only discomfort you should feel is above the neck..."
The husky felt his mind moving sluggishly, "How am I staying alive?" The doctor stood up and moved towards the husky, motioning a hand over a few tubes and wires that were directly injected into his body, "With a very thorough life support... they are directly sustaining your internal organs." The shattered male's eyes narrowed, "Can you...fix me?" The doctor nodded, "That is my intention, though you must be awake during the final procedure." Tobias eyes widened, "Why?" Flare seemed distraught as he explained, "Unfortunately if you were not conscious, your body might reject the process. My research shows that it will be at least ninety percent pain free..." Tobias tilted his head in question, suddenly regretting it as he felt more pain, "And the other ten percent?" The doctor placed his paws together, "No more than a few shocks I hope..." They stood there, eyes locked for some time. "Will it take long?" Tobias asked, reluctantly. "It is a gentle process, a few hours at the most..." Tobias cut him short, "Okay...Doctor."
There was not much talking after Tobias had given Doctor Flare the okay. His heart rate raised a little as the table adjusted, leaning the red husky at more of an angle as some kind of a machine with various instruments hovered over him. He very much wanted to grip the table as a machine with an eye like head passed over his damaged arms, a green laser forming a checkered pattern over his shredded flesh and grinded bones. As far as he knew, the thing was only scanning the remains. Suddenly the largest computer monitor nearby blinked to life, bringing forth the digital image of Tobias' ruined limbs. What was scanned on the inside truly looked like a brick wall about to crumble into dust. The statistics looked grim as they spread across the screen. Finally they flashed, "22% Recovery. Void!"
Tobias' heart jumped as the green lights in the laser scanner faded to a deep red. As a focused beam of red seared across the flesh on both his arms, the energy pausing as it passed over his mid sections, he watched as the damaged pieces of his limbs were cut and cauterized before simply collapsing to the floor. "Please remain calm Tobias. Your limbs are simply being replaced with synthetic ones!" the Doctor reassured the husky. "You could have told me this before you cut them off...wait..!" rang over the speakers. He could only watch as the same was done with his right leg from the top of the knee and down. Even though he couldn't feel it, he couldn't stop his body from jerking with fear.
The husky tried to put himself out of the world as he was rotated and scanned by the eye. His measurements and deformities appeared on the screen, creating an outline of his damaged and pickled self. The machine had claimed both his arms above the bicep and his right leg from the knee down. He bellowed as the clamps around his muzzle slowly started to open his jaw, another scanner like device which reminded Tobias of a green desk light running it's scanner along his fracture jaw where much of his teeth were missing. The computer speakers gave a notification, "Doctor Flare, developmental process shall take approximately twelve hours. Do you wish to commence with bonding materials and facial reconstruction?" Doctor Flare reached his paw over the keys of the large work station and hit the enter key.
Tobias flinched as the machines swirled around him, various mechanical arms reaching down. Two arms grasped at the remainder of his arms, putting pressure on his skin until there was a sharp hissing sound. When they pulled away, he noticed he had two metal bands where the lasers had detached and cauterized his arms. Another device then lowered down. It looked like a baton with a bunch of little neon lights on it, although when it turned on with a sharp glow, he felt a sharp pinch for the first time, making his body twitch. He actually watched as his flesh and muscle sank into the bracers, seeing raw nerves from his body poking out at the other end like a couple of computer wires.
He was so fixated on his arms; he was not prepared to react as the machines suddenly inserted a large, metal ball a similar metal bracer attached to his knee cap. Tobias desperately wanted to scream and slam his fists into something as it felt like a knife was being jabbed into his thigh. It quickly faded away, like someone flicking off a switch. Eyeing the Doctor, he thought loudly, "What was that?" Doctor Flare coughed before turning back to his monitor, "Five of the ten percent..."
After the ball and socket of Tobias' knee was inserted, the Doctor slowly stood up, "So far you are doing excellent Tobias. And after some close examinations, the computer suggests that I put your mind into stasis during the reconstruction of your jaw." The husky seemed somewhat agitated but he understood that this wasn't going to be a picnic. "Stasis? Like going back to sleep? Is it going to hurt when I wake up?" Doctor Flare looked away for a moment, "Most likely..." There was more the husky felt like he had to ask, but as the doctor flicked a switch, it was similar to a TV shutting off. Two little lines came together in the center of Tobias' vision and he quickly shut down...
More to come?
