Synopses

Inexplicably, 98% of the worlds females vanish overnight without a trace. Dr. Carol Sparks, a wolf working in a genetic research lab, is one of the few remaining women on the planet. When geneticists worldwide are commissioned to find a way to accelerate reproduction in the living females, Dr. Colby Driver (a polar bear co-worker and parallel biologist to Dr. Sparks) and several other scientists at the lab turn against her to use her as the only readily available test subject.
Dr. S is bound and gagged, and later strapped to the Science Bench 4000 lab table to be experimented on by Dr. Drivers division. She is infused with Dragon DNA to raise her bodys tolerances for future tests. A few days after the burning sensation fades away, Dr. D (who has always been very envious of Dr. Ss work) takes advantage of her immobility in the worst way. (Yes, I went there)
That night, Seymour Drew, a young tiger and Dr. Ss lab assistant, returns to work (after attending a funeral for his sister some states away) to find his mentor tied down in her own lab. He un-gags her and he explains everything thats happened, up to and including Dr. Ds unsatisfactory behavior. Drew opens up Dr. Ds audio lab reports to get a better idea of whats going on. Dr. S isnt worried about getting pregnant because she wasnt in heat, and so Drew cleans her up and goes back to patrolling the lab.
4 days later, Dr. Ss abdomen has begun to expand visibly, to the surprise of everyone. That night, Drew theorizes with her that the dragon DNA has somehow altered her reproductive system, causing her to react productively to Dr. Ds misconduct. The DNA has also changed her body in other ways, and drew spends each night -tending- to her.
Only 15 days after Dr. Driver did that-, the result is shown, as Dr. Sparks produces 4 oddly patterned eggs. They are placed in an incubator while the entire science team nerd-gasms over the implications of the infusion process. Seymour promises Carol hell keep watch over the eggs, as she is the most intrigued (being a scientist herself.)
5 days later (again), Drew notices the eggs moving and rushes to untie Dr. S. The eggs are unable to hatch by themselves, so the two help by pulling apart the shells. The four cubs quickly imprint on both scientists and Drew decides to set up a chamber where they can be watched without risk of wandering away. Dr. S is completely infatuated with the tiny -and adorable- creatures, wanting to stay with them until morning. Both of them spend the rest of the night playing with and studying the cubs.
