Chapter 7 The first challence ''Sigh Finally we are in the city...'' ''Rai.'' ''What?'' Laura saw Rochelle pointing at an sing that said: 'Only three more kilometers to Hagra City' ''Damn it!'' Laura was already tired from running away from that scary voice and down the hill to the city. Laura sat on a rock next to the rock. ''How about we take a break?'' ''Rai!'' Then she jumped next to her and sat. Laura took of her pink backpack and started searching it. Soon enough she took out an candy bar and gave it to Rochelle. ''You must be tired after that fight, take this.'' Rochelle took the candy bar and started chewing on it. ''Silly you, let me open it for you.'' ''Here.'' ''Rai!'' She then started eating the candy bar pretty fast. ''Hey slow down! Its toffee.'' Rochelle did not care, it was delicous. Laura was just smiling and watching this adorable little creature eating, she looked so cute! She really couldnt believe that her partner would be someone like Rochelle, her parents and friends always told her that the first pokemon would probably be a Pidgey or a Rattata. She saw someone walking down the road coming closer to them, she was wearing a white T-shirt and white jeans. (It couldnt! or could it?) The girl was about the same age as Laura and was close enough to recognise. Laura jumped from the rock and shouted to the girl: ''Diana!'' The girl stopped and looked for the one who shouted and the minute she saw her she started running towards her yelling: ''Laura!'' The two reached eachother and started hugging eachother, when they seperated Diana was the first one to talk. ''Oh my god I cant believe its you! How you been?'' ''I've been great! How about you? What brings you here?'' ''Rai!'' They both looked at Rochelle who was showing that she had finished her candibar and was now asking where to put the thrash. ''Just put it in my backpack.'' Rochelle looked at the backpack on the rock and then she put it in there. ''Oh my god shes so cute!'' Rochelle was a little bit startled by the loud yell, she turned around only to see that the stranger came right at her with her arms spread. She fought that she was going to attack her so she immideatly charged up her elecrtic field of power. Diana got scared of the offensive act and hid behind Laura. ''Help! Its going to kill me!'' ''No shes not, Rochelle what was that all about!?'' ''Rai!'' She refused to let her little electric field down. ''Rochelle! She wasnt trying to attack you or anything!'' ''Chu?'' ''You can trust her, shes my friend.'' ''Rai...'' ''Trust me she wont hurt you, I promise.'' Rochelle let her electrisity down but was still cautios. ''Shes scary, is she your pokemon?'' ''Yeah cool huh?'' ''So have you caught any new pokemon?'' ''I got an Sandshrew.'' ''Cool I got four pokemon now.'' ''Cool! Can I see them?'' ''How about we find a nice caffe first and catch up?'' ''Sure.'' And so the girls started walking towards the city while talking about what they have been up to, Rochelle was just stannding on the rock.
[What just happened?] A little while later... Laura and Diana were in a small cafe waiting toorder something and talking about their past, Rochelle was sitting next to Laura. Diana was talking. ''....Anyway the wierd thing is that almost all pokemon are 'shiny'.'' ''Why is that?'' ''Well there was an nuclear exlposion on our region about 60 years ago witch mutated the pokemons genes, you really didnt pay much attention in school did you?'' ''But history is soo booorinnng.'' ''You havent chanced a bit.'' ''Hey Diana what brings you to Hagra City?'' ''The Pokemon Gym ofcourse.'' ''Oh thats rigth, you have to get new badges every year so you can enter the league.'' ''Thats right, hey what about we both go to the gym?'' ''Great idea!'' Then they both stood up and were about to leave when their stomachs started growling. ''What about we eat first?'' After an half an hour or so... There they were, standing infront of the Hagra Gym. The Gym itself was actully in the same building than the pokemon center. The gym is located in the basement while the pokecenter is on top of it. Laura was a little confused. ''Why is the Gym in the basement of an pokemon center?'' Diana looked a little confused to Lauras question. ''Because its the hardest gym.'' ''What!? The hardest?'' ''Yeah its the Power Gym after all.'' Laura was scared, she only had got herself an Sandshrew and an Raichu and she didnt know really any of their moves or what she should about a tactic. Diana somewhat understood her consern. ''Dont worry your first gym battle will be at Mega City not here.'' ''But isnt it very far away?'' ''Yeah but with an speed train you get there in an hour. Come on and see how I battle.'' They both went inside and went left from the entrance and down the stairs to the gym. They were infront of an big door that was apparently locked, Diana pressed an buzzer next to it. After she pressed the buzzer an voice from the intercom said. ''What do you want`'' Diana answered: ''I want to battle Berekka, the Power Gyms Leader.'' An buzz sound came from the intercom and after that the door opened. The Gym battlegrounds were simple, medium sized room being full white but the marking on the ground that showed where the challencer would be standing and the middle part was painted red. A man in an grey clothes with an short brown hair came in. ''Hello Im the referee of this Gym, Berekka will be here shortly if your friend would follow me to the audience stand.'' Laura went with the man to the audience stand that was on their left side. Diana walked to the challencers spot and waited for the gym leader. Soon enough a tall muscular man came in from the other side, wearing black jeans and a black tank top along with an black bandana and black sneakers. ''Is that Berekka?'' Laura asked from the referee. ''Yes he is.'' Berekka went on the Leader spot and just stared at his challencer. The referee shouted: ''The rules are simple, the challencer may use four pokemon while the Gym Leader shall use three out of four pokemon. The time limit is thirty minutes and if the time runs out the challencer aoutomaticly loses.'' The referee sat but Lauraasked him an question. ''Why are the rules like that?'' ''You'll see.'' Then Diana took an pokeball and threw it. The ball popped up and outside came an grey violetish Ninetails with red eyes and blue tail tips. (Could that be Tails?) Then the gym leader threw out his pokeball, out of the ball came an Hariyama that was different color as well. Its hands and feet were violet and its 'tutu' thing was red. Laura asked the referee: ''Why are their pokemon different color?'' The referee looked a bit confused. ''You must be new huh? You see there was an accident a long time ago in our region that chanced the poke-'' He was interrupted by Ninetales's cry. She was ready to fight.
