Legend has it when two untainted, pure hearts meet in friendship or in love, a extraordinary filament is compelled to their souls, a magic so dominant, two inquiring lovers forged amulets out of this astonishing feeling. The amulets permitted lovers to do their fates, to accomplish their destiny, even if it meant separating one another. The amulets jewels would smolder brightly, until one of the lovers passed away, then the jewels glow would expire, letting the other know of his or her fate.
Mankind censed to show they could wield such an amulet, no pure souls remained, the amulets died with indulgence, waiting for two pure hearts to galvanize it once more.
" Takace! Takace! Wait up for me!" yowled out the shuddering lips of a energetic cat girl, she was maybe seven or eight years old, her hair a dazzling flaxen gold color, her eyes racing a bright lavender, she wore a bluish tunic and brown leather boots, her furry tail dragging after her in the dirt.
Takace slowly turned around with his male friend to his left, his streaming crimson man fell over his left russet muddy eyes as he looked to Yumai, his short burgundy and white tabby hair blew gently in the breeze, he wore a white shirt and brown pants, matching his brown boots, his bushy burgundy tail rested on the ground.
" Gosh Takace, why do you have to tell Yumai every where that we go? How can we do guy stuff with her around?"
Takace turned looking at his friend, smirking slightly as he spoke to the boy chubby cheeks, black curls crowding over his face and olive eyes, poking from the curls were hidden wolves ears, his fur was silver, " Kindle, what is so wrong with Yumai?"
" She is not a male! Come on Takace, she is not one of us..."
Takace remained waiting for Yumai, " Regardless to what you say, Yumai is my best friend Kindle."
Kindle rolled his eyes walking ahead, " Never mind you Takace, I am off to play with Waine and Shoppe, there the only guys around here left. You and Yumai can have your own adventures."
Yumai finally caught up as Kindle left, " Where is he going?"
" He is going to play with Waine and Shoppe."
" But I thought today you two would play..."
" That was until you showed up."
Yumai frowned slightly, " What is so wrong with me?"
" Absolutely nothing, Kindle is just a brute, don't listen to him. He is upset because I play with a girl, you're my best friend though."
Yumai rolls her eyes, " Kindle is so weird." She sighs, " So what are we going to do today?"
" Do what Kindle and I had plan, snoop around Warlocks cottage and see what we find..."
Yumai looks a little apprehensive, " Isn't that dangerous?"
Takace chuckles softly, nudging Yumai's arm, " Your not afraid are you?"
" No, just smart, what if the warlock catches us?"
" We run, like we always do."
Yumai turns around facing where she came from, " But that is if were running from Farmer Shane or people like that, this is a person with magic powers. My mother warned me about him, she says he is dangerous and mean and hates kids."
Takace places his paws on her shoulder, " Your mother is just messing with you, so you don't go there."
Yumai looks at him, " Why would my mother mess with me?"
" To make sure you don't meet him. He could be a nice guy..."
Yumai turns to face Takace, " He could be a mean guy too..."
Takace removes from his pocket a dagger, " That is why I have this to protect you."
Yumai's eyes widen, " Takace! Where did you get that?"
" From my father's mill, I didn't steal it so don't worry."
" So your father knows you took it right?"
" No, because my father would let a child walk out his mill with a rare dagger. I took it, but its okay were related."
" Related?" she raises an eyebrow, " You think that will solve this crisis here?"
" What crisis?"
" You stole from your father, he is going to see it as theft, not as your borrowing it, because he doesnt know you have it!"
Takace slowly turned around leaving Yumai behind, " Kindle was right about you females."
Yumai's mouth gapes slightly walking after him, " What is that?"
Takace looks back slightly, a grin growing on his snout, " That girls are such a bore, such a let down when it comes to adventure."
" I am not thank you very much a let down!"
Takace turned stopping in his tracks as he looked down at her, " Really now? How do you plan to prove it?"
Yumai stood there for a moment pondering, her ears flickering to sounds, " By taking you to the warlocks cottage and exploring."
" Really now?"
Yumai nodded, " Yes! What are you waiting for? Lets go...."
Yumai hestitated a bit as she scampered off into the darkness on all four paws, with Takace following, she had to prove herself.
The cottage was humble, colored in the shades of soft pallid and emerald, flowers trumpeted all over the cottage, making the warlock inside seem as a pleasant and gentle being, because that was what he was. He was misguided as evil because he knew witchcraft and the arts of a mage, but he was truly a nice person. He saw the good in people.
Yumai crept up slowly to the cottage, seeing no true threat around, so she proceeded forward. Takace a bit worried shouted out, " Yumai are you sure about this?"
Yumai stood up on two legs and looked at Takace, " Oh so is the big boy suddenly afraid of a warlock?" she tantalized on not knowing the warlock was now standing behind her, " Are you afraid because I am doing your job and I am a girl? You wanted me to go with you to this cottage and now I am here and seeking adventure and your not doing anything. So how about you stop being mean to me when I am worried and go on with this adventure."
Yumai turned around bumping into the warlock, staggering backwards she bumped onto the ground. Yumai looked up seeing a large Griffen before her dressed in golden layered with azure silk robe, sprouting from his back was his large feathery black wings, his feathers were black in color.
Yumai gulped as the warlock spoke, " I am the great and mysterious Fernazza the Warlock of Griffons..."
Takace had no intentions of interupting him, but it happened, " The same Fernazza from the legend?"
Fernazza didnt move his body, he turned his body gracefully to gaze at Takace, " Yes, I am the Fernazza of the Legend of Zion."
Yumai raised her eyebrow slightly, " Legend of Zion?"
Fernazza cleared his throat as he spoke in a blundering voice, " The Legend of Zion was based long ago, in the creation of this city..." he slowly eases to sit down on a rock, notioning the kids should follow, and they did, " Two people, Zerlexa and Herick, two cat people, Zerlexa was a princess and mage of erudition, she wanted to posses a city of great knowledge, wisdom and rich aspects, but to do so she needed the love of her husband and endorsement of her kingdoms counsel. Herick was a knight who planned to protect the city, so he wished to recruit an army that none have seen, but he did not want to leave the side of Zerlexa, because without one another, they both melted into self-piteous excuses of living people." Fernazza cleared his throat, swirling his hand around in three tiny circles as a strange blue aura formed three glasses of water, he handed two out to Takace and Yumai, " Zerlexa and Herick decided there faultless city would never be created so they went to the Elves of Zion, who forged them two magical amulets, that would glow if one or the other lovers died, so they could part, always knowing if the love of the other remained or not." he guzzled down his water, " After Zerlexa and Herick died the amulets were handed to the warlocks to decide who would obtain it next, my rein of holding the amulets is now."
Yumai just finished her drink as she spoke, " How can you obtain this amulet?"
Fernazza looks to Yumai, " Only that which heart desires it, that of pure hearts, a love, a bond between two people that will never die."
Yumai looks to Takace, " Can Takace and I have the amulets?"
Takace looks over to Yumai, " What?!?!?"
Fernazza looks to Takace and Yumai, " Young love, so pure and innocent, and you two actually show the bond of never dying, that is what drew you here today. Today you obtain what is rightfully yours."
Takace was slightly smarter then Yumai as he stood up and said, " The amulets are only given to those who are going to separate one another. I do not plan to leave Zion and neither does Yumai."
Fernazza looks at Takace, " As you think no one will rob you of this place?"
Takace and Yumai watched as the warlock stood, pulling two golden necklaces from his robe, a bright red jewel dangled from the end. Fernazza bowed to them and started to head off, " Alaways keep them on..."
Fernazza was gone.
Takace looked to Yumai as she looked back, both of them putting on there amulets, both starting to shine bright red. Takace smiled as he and Yumai started to head home, " That was a little weird, the whole him seeing us being separated."
Yumai laughed slightly, " That is true. We will always be together."
The extinct silence after her chime grew uncanny, only in the outlying background a muffled gallop was heard, and calls of screaming, a fire stench rid the air. Thieves! Thieves were attacking Zion.
Yumai looked to Takace as Takace hissed out, " Thieves in Zion! We better go hurry and help out!"
Takace turned around to run towards Zion, Yumai grabbed his arm, " Wait, what can we do for Zion?"
" I dont know, but it will be something! We have to help Zion!"
Yumai let go of Takace, watching him run, only to hear the silence get broken by the cry of a horse, a horse darting out in full metal clanking, swiping up Takace right before Yumai's eyes. Yumai ducked slightly into the darkness, as she watched Fernazza's words come true. Takace was kidnapped by the Thieve's guild.
