It was an odd feeling, being both scared shitless and curious. It was definitely something Liolyn didn't experience everyday. Rarely was it both. He's felt it twice before: receiving his first kiss and first meeting Kadell.

He found it ironic that he had the same feeling when he first saw his lover's sister.

True, he wanted to meet her. She was important to Kadell and he obviously loved her. But at the moment he really wished that he didn't.

For there he was, straddling his sweat slicked and come covered lover after a fabulous ride. He probably looked like shit and a mess. That and his tail was doing that annoying thing where it puffs up to twice its width.

It made him look like an oversized rabid squirrel.

But all that aside, Gira was extremely attractive just like her brother. She had long, pearl white hair and streaks of silver starting mid length and whisking down. Her gray eyes showed intelligence and strength with a hint of seductive promise. A very good combination, if Liolyn did say so himself.

He really hoped that his body didn't because he was naked and Kadell would kill him if he saw an erection.

Gira's calm voice filled the cave. "Good thing I didn't bring you nephew. He so desperately wanted to come, too."

Kadell seemed frozen with either fear or mortification. Liolyn could clearly see a blush creep up his face and thought it was cute. Unfortunately, this thought led to other inappropriate thoughts which would lead to something very, very bloody.

He slowly reached behind him and dragged a fur blanket around his waist to cover where they were connected, hoping to spare his lover and himself some dignity.

Now, Liolyn was attractive and he knew he looked like a walking, talking orgasm and had no problem prancing about naked but he never wanted to be more dressed than he did at that moment. He wasn't sure if he liked this new conservative Liolyn. He was taking the fun out of life.

During his musings, Liolyn didn't even notice the she-wolf crossing the large cave until she was a mere few feet away from them.

He flinched back as she held out a hand. "I'm Gira, Kadell's younger sister. And you are?"

Gold eyes darted from the hand to her face and back. He took it.H "I'm Liolyn. Are you going to maul me?"

"Not unless you deserve it."

"Well, I feel better already."

She let go and Liolyn tightened the blanket around his waist. He really wished he could wipe the come off Kadell's stomach without her noticing.

"So..." Liolyn started, unease creeping up on him. "How long have you been here?"

"For five minutes. I had to get over the shock of a cat demon riding my brother like he was a vibrating dildo-"

Liolyn didn't know if he should feel embarrassed, ashamed, or insulted.

"-and my brother moaning like a whore in heat."

Liolyn smiled brightly. "I like you. Let's be friends."

At that moment Kadell snapped out of his shock induced coma. He started, looking at Gira like he was about to die and basically threw Liolyn off him in his haste to scramble off the bed in search for clothes.

Liolyn hissed in pain as he crashed to the blankets. He groaned loudly, the violent exit of Kadell's cock stinging more than it was suppose to. He sat up, glaring and looking like a cat just thrown in water. He wrapped the fur more securely around him, grumbling about ungrateful wolves.

Gira continued to stare down at the cat before crossing her arms. "So, Liolyn, what brings you to the northern lands? It can't be for the weather."

Liolyn looked up at her. "Honestly?"

"Honestly."

"I came here looking for a wolf demon to fuck and be fucked by."

Kadell squawked indignantly as he threw on pants. "That was not what you told me."

"Ulterior motives, my living dildo, ulterior motives."

"You fucking bi-"

"So I guess you found it." Gira cut in. "Will you be leaving soon?"

Liolyn smirked, eyes raking down Kadell's body. "Only half, my fiendish friend. And I won't leave till spring. The winter's too harsh for me to travel all the way down by my lonesome self."

Gira examined him. "I want to talk to you alone before I take my leave. Is that alright?"

"Perfectly."

"Fine. Kadell!" She rounded on her brother. "What were you thinking?!"

Kadell glared at her but still seemed to cower. "He was half dead when I found him. I couldn't just leave him there to die."

"No! That part is fine! I'm glad you saved Liolyn. It's the part about you screwing him that's the problem."

"It's part of our agreement." Liolyn chipped in.

Both siblings rounded on him.

"Liolyn, please."

Kadell flushed. "SHUT UP!"

Gira turned her attention back onto her brother. "Kadell, you are in temporary exile already, why do you wish to provoke Raklyn? He's just looking for an excuse to throw you out for good! Once you're gone then he'll be the alpha male!"

"You could challenge him."

Gira took a few steps forward, her voice desperate. "But it is not my place. It is yours, Kadell! It is in your blood! You were the one that father wanted to leave his position to, not Raklyn. He is not fit to lead rats!"

"I don't want the position, Gira. I am unfit for such a responsibility."

"You say that, but it's not true. You are a born leader, Kadell. I mean, come on! During the war you were one who-"

"Stop it." Kadell growled threateningly, patience coming to an end. "Now."

Gira immediately backed down, knowing she was pushing Kadell in a corner. "I'm just saying that the pack needs you. If you come back they will support you."

"And there are those who would support Raklyn. The pack will split and there will be a war over the mountain. I won't let blood spill for something so meaningless."

Gira snarled. "YOU ARE JUST SCARED! If Nali was alive still you wouldn't hesitate for a second in taking down Raklyn."

"But he's not and I have no quarrel with Raklyn."

"But my son is." Gira looked like she was going to cry. "Doesn't that mean anything to you? Do you still have a heart, Kadell? Don't you still love your nephew? I will not let him become one of Raklyn's pawns." She whispered. "I am not blind to what he does to those who foolishly follow his lead."

Kadell didn't speak and silence seemed to echo through the cave.

Gira broke it. "You should not have been exiled. What you did was nothing compared to what he does behind closed doors."

Kadell eyes met her pleading ones before looking away. "But I did and I am not above our laws."

Gira growled angrily. "You're not the only one! It happens all the time. You were just caught."

"It doesn't matter."

The she-wolf glowered at him before sighing wearily. "You will not challenge Raklyn?"

"No."

"Not even for your nephew? Is Zaren not worth your concern?"

"Only if he is in any real danger. Raklyn is smart enough to not mess with my family."

"And Derek?"

"Derek is a spoiled brat and Raklyn little lap dog. He wouldn't touch his own blood."

"What about for me? As a favor for me?"

Kadell stared at her before turning away and putting on a shirt. He pulled on his boots. "You want to talk to the cat. I'll leave you in peace." With that he left.

Gira trembled in vexation. She roared angrily and kicked a nearby object.

Liolyn didn't move, not daring to provoke her. He learned more about Kadell today than he could in a month.

The she-wolf took a deep, calming breath before exhaling slowly, turning to the cat demon. "So, Liolyn. It's just you and me."

Liolyn nodded. "Can I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"Why is Kadell out here in a cave instead of with you?"

Gira stared at him thoughtfully before her own private revenge on her brother got the best of her. "He was accused with attempted rape by one of the teenage wolves. Unfortunately for Kadell he was walked in on with his hand down the boy's pants and his free hand pinning the boy's wrists above his head. The boy was smart enough to kick him off and run to the discoverer, weeping and trembling. The evidence was just too strong and the fact that Kadell didn't deny it didn't help."

Liolyn probed. "Did he really try to rape him?"

"I don't think so. Kadell isn't the rapist type. He takes what is pressed on him, as you probably already know. But Raklyn made this big speech about it and it riled up the wolves. Kadell's lucky to have his limbs and I doubt he would have fought back if they tried." She scoffed. "If he acted like the alpha male he is then he'll be with the pack and Raklyn dead or licking his boots. It's a good thing that the pack is split almost equally between the two of them. If all were on Raklyn's side... I shudder to think of the consequences."

Liolyn remained silent and Gira glowered at nothing. "You know what's really screwed up? When a male tries to push himself on another male who has rejected him, it is rape. But if a male backhands a woman and mounts her while she screams for him to stop, it is called reproduction. It's a messed up system and should be rewritten. Kadell should step up and do something."

"Did someone try to do that to you?" Liolyn didn't know where this morbid curiosity came from.

She turned to him and gave him a soft smile. "Did you know Kadell wouldn't let anyone touch me until I was well into my fifties?"

Liolyn shook his head negatively.

"That's because he knew of females who had that occur to them even though they were mated. He wouldn't let that happen to me so he made sure the male who was the strongest and most trustworthy mated with me. Good for him that I already loved such a man. Kadell trained him for a decade before actually allowing us to continue in our relationship." She sighed. "There have been attempts but thank god for Adrex and Kadell. After both were done with those wolves, they could never reproduce again."

Liolyn smiled. "Somehow I'm not surprised."

Gira's eyes inspected him again. "Do you love my brother?"

Liolyn choked on his own saliva. "What?"

"Right now my brother needs comfort, Liolyn. He needs love. He's in a dark place I fear he may never claw out of. He needs a light to guide his way, arms to fall into. He needs warmth and comfort. He needs support."

The cat demon spoke softly, eyes cast down. "What makes you think I can provide that?"

"Because what I walked in on was not just fucking. Never have I seen my brother look like that. With Xinala, he was very... well... she said that he never had any passion for her. It was like get in, get out, and move on. But when he was with you... I have never seen my brother be so tender, so passionate. For the love of god, Liolyn! His eyes were such a bright silver it was blinding! He looked at you with such longing! He was showing emotion, dammit!"

Liolyn's eyes were wide. "What?"

"He likes you, stupid! He really likes you! This is not just a need to hump. No. He looked happy. Now tell me, cat demon... do you like him?"

Liolyn couldn't find his voice. He made a weird high pitched noise before nodding dumbly.

"Then don't fuck this up. And do not break his heart. It's just beginning to mend."

Liolyn nodded vigorously before swallowing hard. "Can I ask you a favor?"

"Sure."

"Can you bring me lube and some... devises."

"What kind of... devises."

"I'll make you a list."

And he did. A very long one. Gira arched up a brow when she read it before folding it up and tucking it away. She placed her hands on her hips. "Alright, Liolyn. I'll see what I can do. But if I do this you must do something for me."

"Anything you desire, my sex goddess of presents."

"Convince him to throw Raklyn from power, stand up to him, anything. Just get him to do something."

"... I'll... I'll see what I can do. I don't think he'll listen."

"I think he will. Don't underestimate yourself. I'm sure you can find a way to convince him."

Kadell sat on the bolder that obscured the entrance to his sanctuary. He couldn't hear them, not that spying was his intent. He just didn't know where else to go. Cooled sweat made him sticky and colder and Liolyn's semen still remained on his torso. If he did go hunting there was always that chance he would be found by another wolf and that would just be bad.

Gray eyes didn't move from their unblinking stare at the horizon as the female wolf exited the cave.

Gira gave him a small smile. "Hey there."

Kadell's eyes flicked to her and went back to staring. "Hey."

"Are you mad?"

"No. Just annoyed."

Gira hopped up to where he was, sitting so that her back leaned against his shoulder. "I didn't mean to be blunt about everything. I'm just scared, Kadell. You're not there and it's almost unbearable. We are starving, brother. There's no food and what little there is you manage to get it first."

"You're not, I hope. I leave food behind for you. Don't you get it?"

"I do and I give it to Zaren and Dari." She sighed. "Dari's cub died, Kadell."

Kadell suddenly stiffened, his breath catching in his throat. But his niece's pup was fine last time he checked. "How?"

"Starved. She had him late, remember? She was still breast feeding him mid winter and she didn't have enough weight to maintain the amount he needed to drink."

Kadell scrubbed his face with his hands and groaned. "How is she?"

Gira's eyes fell. "How do you think she is? You remember how I was one I lost my first cub." She sighed again. "At least she's still alive, I made sure of that. But the thing is... Raklyn said that it should have been her that died, not the pup. It hit her hard and her mate has fallen under his control. She may be pregnant again soon."

Kadell shook his head. "No... if what you're saying is true, she won't. She won't have enough weight to sustain the child. And if that weakling mate of hers does anything, tell me." He grinned evilly. "I'll take care of it."

Gira chuckled. "You always do. Adrex is keeping him in line for the time being but he can't protect us all. He's not strong enough to take Raklyn down. He's not a direct descendant."

"But you are, Gira. You can kill him, I made sure of that. Why not do it yourself?"

"Because I can fail, Kadell. I have a pup to take care of and even though I may be a full blood like you I still can't take down Raklyn. He's too strong."

"You still could. Do something first, then talk to me."

Gira growled deeply before settling back against her brother. "And there's something else I need to tell you. The pack knows about Liolyn."

"And?"

"They're out for blood, especially those who survived the war. Derek came back with a few scratches and Moku looked horrible. He said that the cat demon attacked them and they barely made it away." Gira looked at her brother. "Do you know that the three others returning didn't have a scratch on them? Funny, huh?"

"Hilarious."

"Did he attack them?"

Kadell gave her an unreadable smile. "I really don't know. What do you think?"

Steel colored eyes rolled. "I didn't think so. Well... I'm off." She stood, brushing the snow off her clothes. "I'll give everyone your regards."

Kadell stood also as Gira leapt off the rock. "Tell Dari I will try to see her when I can."

"Will do."

With that the she-wolf was off, disappearing into the forest.
