Paws of Fire: Tiger in Town - Chapter 9
#5 of Paws of Fire: Tiger in Town
Chapter 9: The Plan
It wasn't long after the two lovers relieved their tensions that the military had found them. Loud stomps approached them as several men surrounded the small space between the building and the semi-trailer. They had their guns pointed at them, having just enough light from the fires around them to see the two fugitives huddled together in a loving embrace.
Uraku looked around them, his eyes glowing a dim red as he prepared to free himself and his lover from the surround, but Daniel quickly put a hand on Uraku's shoulder. "No...do as I do. Trust me." Daniel held his hands up, showing the surrounding soldiers he was harmless before he got down on the ground, sprawling his body out and letting himself be easily detainable.
Uraku grunted, his paw was halfway out to bringing out his giant sword before Daniel stopped him. The tiger had a defiant glare in his eyes, but the certainty the human gave was just enough to get the tiger to obey. Uraku slowly raised his paws up high before laying his nude body face down against the ground next to Daniel. He growled irritatedly.
Daniel understood Uraku's annoyance. They could easily have broken free from this small group of soldiers. Uraku's power ensured that if they wanted to be free, they could be. However, Daniel now knew that running from these soldiers was foolish. In fact, being captured may in the end HELP them.
Daniel had a plan...a plan that he had so much confidence in that he was willing to be captured by an angry military.
The soldiers immediately rushed at Daniel and Uraku, one of them sitting on top of Daniel and bringing his arms behind his back to cuff him. Daniel gave no resistance to the swift efforts of the soldier. He nodded to Uraku, showing the tiger a confident smile in hopes of keeping the tiger from changing his mind. He looked above Uraku, almost laughing as he saw someone bringing a cage around the side of the semi-trailer.
Uraku looked where Daniel was looking, growling quietly in annoyance. "Don't you dare put me in a cage, filth..." Uraku was about to raise up a fight to avoid humiliation before Daniel quickly said, "Sirs...he listens to my every command, but he doesn't take kindly to cages. Perhaps if you let me go in there first, he'll feel more inclined to follow me."
The soldier that cuffed Daniel helped him stand up, glaring at him defiantly. "Why should we listen to you, murderer!?" Daniel looked into the soldiers eyes with a smug look before shifting his eyes to the tiger. Uraku understood what was going on, quickly swiping at one of the soldier's feet and knocking him back against the semi-trailer. The other guards held their guns up, ready to defend their fellow soldier as Uraku raised his paw to give a deadly blow to his target. Daniel shouted, "Stop!"
Uraku suddenly stopped, turning around and looking at Daniel with a fake look of curiosity. Daniel glanced back at the soldier that questioned him before he started walking alone toward the cage. The other soldiers stared at him awkwardly, shocked by his ability to control such a strong beast.
Daniel nodded at Uraku, 'commanding' him to follow him into the cage. Uraku glared around at the soldiers that all pointed guns at him now. He sighed, lowering his head as he entered the cage with his mate. The soldiers quickly shut the cage and locked it up with several locks. The soldiers were frantic about it...so frantic that Daniel started laughing loudly. They could have left it unlocked, and he still wouldn't leave the cage.
"One...Two...THREE!" The soldiers counted before the cage was lifted up suddenly, the two of them being transported into the back of a large van. The doors were shut behind them, and the light from the fire was gone. They were together in utter darkness.
"What are you thinking, Daniel? We could have escaped...why do you want them to capture us? Aren't we the powerful ones that can't be stopped?" Uraku said this while he reached behind Daniel to easily sever the cuffs from his wrists using only his raw might.
Daniel shifted around, looking for the chest of his mighty tiger mate so he could crawl up against him and rest his head on Uraku's heart. His stroked the tiger's chest with his hand idly. "Well, for one...I like how we're all alone from everything now. We're not going anywhere, either, because this vehicle won't drive until they make some repairs to it. The EMP made sure to that."
Uraku slid his paw under Daniel's shirt, stroking up and down the human's backside as he listened to him. "And...?"
"And there's more, of course." Daniel chuckled, coughing as he relinquished the information Uraku really wanted. "Basically, I know what's happening now. I know how our world is going to end. An EMP was set off by an enemy of this country to disable all the electrical power here. You can imagine it as a device that disables all magic in your world." Uraku looked puzzled, but nodded understandingly after the reference to magic. "Go on..."
"It's obvious to me that after this country's enemy's disable a great source of power, they would send in nukes that would go unchallenged by any sort of nuke interception system. I'm not scientist, but given the kind of technology in the world today, I'm sure there's a system in place to track incomming bombs and intercepting them somewhere out of harms way."
Uraku growled lowly. "What are you talking about?"
"The nuke is what we call the destructive power that Aveyi described to you during the tournament when you asked about this world. It can annihilate a large area of land, along with everything with it. If it's not obliterated, then it's incinerated further out, then if it's not incinerated, it becomes a deadly poisonous radiation even further out."
Uraku still seemed dumbfounded, but tried to summarize what he understood. "So basically...this country's enemies crippled their defenses to secure a track for this nuke?" Daniel patted him on the chest. "Yes! They launch the nuke from very far away and set a course for it to somewhere around here."
Uraku shifted around a bit. "How can you sound so calm, Daniel?" He didn't sound so much disappointed in Daniel's tone as he was surprised. "You say everything you hold dear is about to be destroyed, and yet you're so nonchalant about it."
Daniel snickered lightly. "Because even as we lay here in utter darkness, locked up, I know we can save the world. I don't have a full plan just yet, but the thing is...I just know the two of us together can achieve anything. Basically, the greatest of brains and the greates of brawn are in this cage. What can't we do?"
Uraku grunted, throwing his head back against the floor of the cage. "Someone's full of himself." Daniel chuckled. "Sorry...I just never felt so confident in myself. After that change I went through, things just made sense more easily. I can't explain how this feels..."
Uraku started to laugh a little bit. He rolled his head side to side as if he was shaking it. "You're something else, Daniel. Alright, I'll go along with whatever you have planned. I'll be your little pawn." Daniel could sense the goofy grin Uraku was giving. The tiger shifted around so that he was laying on top of Daniel, his arms on either side of the human to alleviate a small amount of the weight. Daniel could almost see the loving look in the tiger's eyes in the darkness. "So, master...what shall I do now?"
Daniel reached up with both hands to scritch behind the tiger's ears before bringing his muzzle down closer to him. Daniel was breathing a bit heavier, his heart fluttering with passion as he felt the closeness of the one he loved. "Now I need you to kiss me...and make it a good one."
The tiger obeyed, tilting his head and locking lips with Daniel, rasping his tongue against the other's in a gentle manner while he rubbed his mighty chestfur up and down against Daniel's chest. He growled quietly and for a long time, the tremors echoing through Daniel's throat and sending shivers through his smaller body. Daniel was cooing happily to the sensation, tugging at those tiger ears to beg to be ravished by that tiger tongue.
The kiss was suddenly broken as Uraku jerked away, gasping lustily. "No...don't get me riled up again...it's too cramped in here." Daniel laughed lightly. "Fair enough, kitty. Perhaps we should just sleep until we arrive at our destination and are brought out. I wouldn't mind cuddling with." The two of them shifted around until they were on their sides, Uraku spooning Daniel, almost able to encircle him in a barrier of warmth and fur. Daniel squirmed happily, feeling not a care in the world in the protective embrace of his mate. He reached into his jacket, pulling out the book, 'Paws of Fire', and hugged it close to his heart.
"I wonder what the others are up to." thought Daniel.

A few hours had passed before the van hit a bump somewhere, tossing the two lovers in the cage. The ruccus woke Daniel, but Uraku still snored quietly. Daniel opened his eyes, noticing a faint green light in the van now. It seems the military got the van working again.
"Now's my chance" thought Daniel. He opened the book, flipping to the part where he left off to see what his friends were doing now.
