Darkness Rising, an EDD Continuation. Chapter One.
A lot of shit has happened in the past couple of months. However, none of that is of great concern to anybody. In the season finale of the first book of this series, Ariel was sent to hell, and Eric was brought back to life. This is the season premiere of the second book of this series. Most of what y'all were used to in the first book, will have changed in this book. Now that I'm done with that, I'll give you the standard warning: This book has several depictions of violence, the supernatural, and gore. If you have a problem with this, I got two words for ya: hop off. Now that I'm done with this here author's note, please enjoy this story.

2 minutes after Eric Carballo left the funeral.
As the pastor, a black human male, watched Eric Carballo walked away from the cemetery, he let an evil grin form on his face.Perfect, Ariel's lover is gone, and I have the right amount of bodies here for what I plan to do, thought the pastor. The evil grin still on his human face, the pastor took out a small book, turned it to a page labeled 'Spell to Summon Death,' and started to speak the Latin words on the page. As the pastor spoke, the furs and humans around him, turned to gaze in his direction, slightly confused as to what was going on. It was when the pastor finished speaking, that everybody realized that something was wrong. One by one, every fur, and human started dropping to the floor, dead. Once the last human dropped dead, the pastor turned around to look at the bodies. As soon as he turned around, it was evident that the pastor was possessed by a Demon, as his eyes were now a dark orange. Nodding in satisfaction at all the dead bodies, the Demon took a step back, and waited for what he knew was going to come. As it turned out, the Demon didn't have long, because five minutes later, a black robed figure was standing right in front of him. Looking at the sight before him, the Demon grinned, opened his mouth, and said, "Well hello, Death." Death slowly took the hood of his robe off, and looked at the Demon, a literal flame in his eyes. "Why did you kill all these people for? Huh Demon?" The Demon just smirked, and then raised the book his was currently holding in his hands. "This here book states that a large amount of people dying in a cemetery, during a funeral, will summon you. The book also states that you have to do me two favors." said the Demon.
At those words, Death started gritting his teeth, completely angered that he had to once again, grant somebody favors. With a look of hatred on his face, Death slowly nodded his head, and started speaking. "What do you want, Demon?" Snickering, the Demon walked up to Death, and silently whispered the answer to him. As Death listened to what the Demon said, his eye sockets widened in shock at what he was being told. Once the Demon finished, he took a step backwards, and regarded Death with a grin. "Well Death, you gonna do it?" asked the Demon. Not believing what he was agreeing to, Death nodded his head. "I'll do it Demon. But you will have to wait a year for your second favor." The Demon smiled, and nodded his head, not caring how long he had to wait. Seeing that the Demon was fine with his terms, Death touched the Demon's forehead, and quickly granted his wish. A moment later, Death vanished in a puff of black smoke, leaving behind the Demon, and the casket containing Ariel's body. Once Death left, the Demon turned towards Ariel's body, and started running his fingers through the boy's hair. Hope you're having a fun time in Hell, Ariel. You'll be missed. With that thought in mind, the Demon turned away from Ariel's body, and started walking away. After walking fifty feet, the Demon suddenly vanished in a puff of gray smoke. Just before the smoke cleared away, it seemed to configure itself into letters, spelling a single word. The word itself, simply said 'Lilith.'
Location: The Cemetery Ariel is buried in. Brooklyn, New York. Time: 12:02 a.m. Date: September 21st, 3029. One year later.
"Let's go guys, we have to prove to the rest of the class that we're not pussies." shouted Troy, a 17 year old Dalmatian, to a group of 2 kids standing by a fence. The kids, a human by the Tony, and a horse by the name Jared, rolled their eyes, and hurried after Troy. As the boys walked around the cemetery, they kept looking over their shoulders at every sound they heard. Troy smiled as he led the boys to a certain tombstone. It's gonna be fucking funny to see the reactions on everyone's face when I scare 'em in five minutes, thought Troy as he continued walking. After about another thirty minutes of walking, Troy stopped in front of a tombstone marked 'Ariel Perez.' With a small laugh, Troy walked behind the tombstone, and took out a small device. Placing said the device on the ground; Troy walked back in front of the tombstone, and placed his right hand in his right pocket. A moment later, Tony, and Jared were standing right next to Troy, and looking down at Ariel's grave. Jared was the first one to speak up. "So what makes this grave so haunted again?" Troy looked at the horse, and let out a laugh. "Supposedly, if you touch the grave, Ariel will come out, and kill you." said the Dalmatian. Jared and Tony looked at each other, and then back at Troy. "See ya in the morgue." the both of them said in unison as they turned and walked away from the grave. Troy's eyes widened at what he just heard, and saw. "Fine, fuck you guys. I'll prove that I'm no pussy." shouted the Dalmatian. The horse and human ignored Troy, and continued walking.
Pissed off at having been shrugged off, Troy walked over to where he placed his device, and bent down to pick it up. As he was doing so, Troy failed to notice a clawed hand burst through the soil over Ariel's grave. Oblivious to what was going on behind him; Troy picked up his device, and turned around. As soon as he did, he immediately wished he hadn't. Standing right in front of him, was a demonic figure, dressed in a black trench coat, and wearing a black eye patch over it's right eye. The figure smirked at Troy, and then grabbed the Dalmatian's skinny neck. As Troy struggled against the grip of the figure, he noticed that the figure's uncovered eye was strange in appearance. Instead of the sclera being white, they were a dark black. However, it was the pupil that really scared him. Instead of being circular, they were in the shape of a hexagram, and were a pale white. As Troy looked into that eye, he could've of sworn that it was staring right into his very soul. Before the Dalmatian could say anything, the demonic figure looked at himself, and grinned. "I love what Death and Bloodlial have done to my body." whispered the figure to himself as he fingered his trench coat. Suddenly, the figure placed his other hand on the back of Troy's neck, and quickly twisted both of his hands in opposite directions. The movement quickly killed the Dalmatian. With a grin that revealed fanged teeth, the figure let Troy's dead body fall to the ground. Just before he left, the figure fingered the name on what was once his tombstone. My name is Ariel, and I'm back with a vengeance, and as a full blooded demon. The world had better watch out. With that thought in mind, Ariel thrust his arms out to the sides, and unfurled a large set of Demonic wings. With a grin on his face, he bent his knees, and jumped up into the air.
Location: Brooklyn. Time: 11:04 p.m. Date: September 29th, 3029.
Eric let out a small sigh as he drove his car into Brooklyn. _Man, I can't believe it's only been a year since Ariel died here._Slightly saddened at the thought, Eric quickly looked at the computer telling him why he had to come back to Brooklyn. The words on the computer screen stated that a Dalmatian had been killed inside a cemetery, after visiting hours. It also stated that a grave had been disturbed at the same time that the Dalmatian had died. Turning away from the computer, Eric stopped in front of a Marriott hotel, and turned the engine off. Stepping out of the car, Eric walked into the hotel's lobby, and walked right up to the check in desk. The night clerk, a rat fur by the name of Tim, looked up as the lion stepped in his line of sight. "Can I help you sir?" asked the rat. Eric nodded slowly, and asked for a room. Looking the lion over for a moment, Tim nodded his head, and took out a key card. Typing in the information that Eric provided once the rat asked him, into the computer, Tim handed the lion the key card, then went back to playing a game on his computer. Rolling his eyes at the service that he was being given, Eric took the key card, and headed back outside to park his car.
Over an hour later, Eric was lying down on the bed of his hotel room, and let out a sigh. This is going to be a hard case. Working in the same place that I last saw Ariel might just do me in. That thought in mind, Eric sat up, and walked towards the bathroom, his tail swinging lazily behind him. As the lion walked into the bathroom, a sudden flash of white light filled up the room. A moment later, a black panther wearing a black suit, appeared in the middle of the room. The panther turned his head towards the bathroom door as it swung open, revealing a shirtless lion. "Hello Eric." said the panther. Eric, who had not seen the panther when he walked in, looked up at the sound of his voice, and quickly reached for the knife in his pocket. Seeing what the lion was going for, the panther raised his paw, and released a stream of energy. Almost immediately, Eric felt the energy hold him in place, and preventing him from moving. "It would do you no good to attack me with a knife. I'm an Angel, so it would not affect me. By the way, I go by the name Matthew." Eric looked at the angel with wary eyes, and then checked to see if he could still talk. Once he was satisfied that he could, the lion immediately started cursing. "If my fucking knife can't hurt you, then why the fuck did you decide to hold me back? Oh, and can you let me go you lousy ass assclown?" With a smirk, Matthew released the lion, and sat down on the bed. As he watched the Angel's every move, Eric grabbed his shirt from the bathroom, and slipped it on.
Once the lion finished putting on the shirt, he waited patiently for Matthew to start speaking. The Angel didn't waste any time. "About a year ago, when your lover sacrificed his soul to save you, a portal was opened in the same cemetery that you buried Ariel in. On the day of the funeral, the pastor killed every single mourner, excluding you, as you had already left." Eric's eyes widened at the news that he had just heard. That fucking pastor was a demon?!?!? Well, that's the last time I ever hire a pastor for a funeral. Seeing that the Angel was speaking again, Eric quickly went back to listening. "....The act brought Death to the cemetery. The demon possessing the pastor asked for two favors, and recently, her second favor was just granted. This demon that I speak of is called Lilith, and she is currently looking for a way to open up the gates of hell, so that she can get Bloodlial onto this earth." At those words, Eric slowly nodded his head, looked to both his right, and his left, then passed out. Matthew watched with grim amusement on his face as Eric slumped to the floor. Looks like I should've broken the news to this kid, a whole lot slower than I did. Rolling his eyes, the Angel walked over to the lion's unconscious body, picked him up, and placed him on the bed.
Location: The abandoned Amityville Horror House. Time: 12:29 a.m. Date: September 30th, 3029.
A flash of lightning lit up the night sky as Ariel walked around the Amityville Horror house. The Demon boy smiled as he heard the thunder crash in the distance. I just love the sound of thunder in the night time, thought Ariel as he walked by a bedroom. Just as he was thinking about just walking past the room, Ariel noticed a mirror in the room. Wanting to see the changes to his body, Ariel stepped into the room, closed the door, took off his trench coat, and stepped in front of the mirror. Wearing nothing but a tight black t-shirt, a pair of black jeans, and a pair of black Air Jordan's, gave Ariel a good estimation of his overall appearance. Ariel smiled at the demonic way his eyes looked, and then lifted the eye patch he had placed over his right eye. The smile on his face got wider as he looked at the hexagram that had been carved into the flesh surrounding his eye. Opening his mouth, Ariel ran his tongue, now transformed into that of a snake's, along the fangs that had replaced his teeth. If this doesn't let me bag a chick tonight, I don't know what will, thought Ariel with a small laugh. Closing his mouth, Ariel ran his clawed fingers through his now gray hair, and let out a sigh. You know what, the fangs, the snake tongue, the demonic eyes, the gray hair, the clawed fingers, the hexagram carved into my flesh, the addition of more muscle tone, and of course, my wings, they're really just gonna be a burden. That thought in mind, Ariel grabbed his trench coat, put it back on, and placed the hood over his head.
"Awww, now why would you cover your body back up? You were making me wet." said a female voice. Eyes widening, Ariel turned around, and was soon facing a beautiful tigress. Raising an eyebrow, Ariel made to walk over to the tigress, when he suddenly realized who it was. "Lilith, what are you doing here? And why the fuck would you talk about me like that?" Lilith laughed at Ariel's question, and then gave the Demon boy a quick hug. "I just enjoy seeing the look on your face, each and every time I do so." Ariel smirked at the reply, and then waited for Lilith to get to the real reason why she had visited him. Noticing the look on Ariel's face, Lilith sighed, and then started speaking. "Listen, I'm gonna need you to kill an angel for us. His name is Matthew." Once she finished speaking, Lilith looked at Ariel to see whether or not he would agree to do what she had just asked. The Demon boy gave the mission a quick thought, then nodded his head in agreement. "I'll do it, but I'm going to need a weapon." At that Lilith smiled, and then took a small box out of her pocket. Opening the box, and taking out the contents, she motioned for Ariel to get closer to her.
Ariel quickly obliged, and held out his right hand. "What I'm about to give you is a weapon that you should have had when you left your grave. This is a gun that is magically enforced with demonic energy. It is connected to your mind, and will change into whatever weapon you want. It is capable of killing Angels, and demons. Protect it with your life." With those words, Lilith pressed the gun into Ariel's hands, and then disappeared in a puff of smoke. Ignoring Lilith's exit, Ariel looked down at the gun in his hands, and willed it to turn into a sniper rifle. With a few *clicks,* the gun had changed into the sniper rifle Ariel wanted, and had a magazine of seven bullets. Smiling, Ariel turned to leave the house, when he noticed a piece of paper on the floor. Picking it up, and reading it, Ariel's smile grew wider. A moment later, he himself vanished in a puff of smoke.
Location: Marriott Hotel. Time: 1:32 a.m.
Eric let out a snarl as he felt a paw slap him hard across his muzzle. Quickly getting up so that he could face the person who assaulted him, Eric once again found himself held down by angelic energy. "You know, I really wish you wouldn't be so hasty in attacking me. Using all this energy is starting to get extremely annoying." scolded Matthew. Eric let out another snarl, pissed that the Angel had him bound again. "You're an Angel! My claws and gun won't hurt you! Why do you insist on binding me?!?!" At this, Matthew actually let out a small chuckle. "Okay, maybe I do it cuz it's funny." With those words, Matthew cut off the flow of energy, allowing Eric to move again. Growling, Eric sat up on the bed, and glared at the Angel, who just looked at him with nothing but a smile. Seeing that he wasn't fazing the Angel, Eric turned away with a huff, and started getting ready for bed. As he did so, Eric flicked his ears when he heard Matthew start talking again. "I have some bad news for you. That Dalmatian who was killed? Well he was killed by another demon who wasn't Lilith." Still getting ready for bed, but not wanting the conversation to be one-sided, Eric quickly spoke up. "If it wasn't Lilith, who was it?" When the lion didn't get any response, he turned to look at Matthew, and immediately noticed that the Angel had a nervous look on his face. Furrowing his brow, Eric walked over to Matthew, and placed a paw on his shoulders. "Come on man, who was it?" asked the lion.
Looking up at the lion, Matthew opened his mouth to speak. "The demon who killed that Dalmatian, was none other than-" Unfortunately, just as Matthew was about to say the demon's name, his head snapped backwards, and he fell to the ground. Immediately concerned, Eric went down on one knee, and was about to grab the Angel's shoulders, when a bright yellow light suddenly filled the room. As he quickly moved to shield his eyes, Eric realized that Matthew had just died right in front of him. How the fuck did he die? He was just about to tell me the name of the demon, when he suddenly fell over. Just as Eric finished that thought, the yellow light vanished, and left behind a very confused lion, and Matthew's slowly bleeding corpse. At that moment, Eric knew immediately that Matthew had just been shot by a sniper. Eyes wide, Eric quickly moved to grab his stuff, not wanting to stay in a room with a dead body. Just as he gathered the last of his things, Eric heard the sound of metal slicing through the air, and then a strange ticking sound. Looking towards the source of the sound, Eric let out a gasp when he noticed the feathered end of an explosive arrow. Moving quickly, Eric left his hotel room, pulled the fire alarm, and exited the lobby. Just as the doors closed behind him, Eric heard, and felt the arrow go off. The lion was thrown off his feet as the shockwave ran through his body. Getting back up on his feet, Eric looked up at the room he had been staying in, completely shocked. Who the fuck could have done something like that? They just killed a bunch of people! Still in shock, Eric's brain didn't could comprehend that he was in danger of getting in trouble when he heard the sound of approaching sirens of emergency vehicles.
It was only when he felt his hands being placed behind his back, and getting cuffed, did his brain finally reboot, and not a moment too soon. "You are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. If you give up that right, anything you say, can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you, at the expense of the state. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?" stated an officer, a fox who went by the name Leroy. Eric numbly nodded his head in confirmation. That was all the officer needed, and he was soon placing Eric inside a squad car. As the officer closed the door, Eric looked out the window towards the Marriott. The lion started gritting his teeth as he thought about the many ways he was going to get his revenge on the monster responsible for what happened.
That's the official end of this chapter. I'm not revealing any spoilers about chapter two, so don't bother asking. Anyways, as I have already stated, a lot of things that were the norm in book one of Evil Doesn't Die, has changed in the second book. Oh, and Darkness Rising is the continuation of Evil Doesn't Die. With that thought in mind, Ariel thrust his arms out to the sides, and unfurled a large set of Demonic wings. With a grin on his face, he bent his knees, and jumped up into the air.
Location: Brooklyn. Time: 11:04 p.m. Date: September 29th, 3029.
Eric let out a small sigh as he drove his car into Brooklyn. _Man, I can't believe it's only been a year since Ariel died here._Slightly saddened at the thought, Eric quickly looked at the computer telling him why he had to come back to Brooklyn. The words on the computer screen stated that a Dalmatian had been killed inside a cemetery, after visiting hours. It also stated that a grave had been disturbed at the same time that the Dalmatian had died. Turning away from the computer, Eric stopped in front of a Marriott hotel, and turned the engine off. Stepping out of the car, Eric walked into the hotel's lobby, and walked right up to the check in desk. The night clerk, a rat fur by the name of Tim, looked up as the lion stepped in his line of sight. "Can I help you sir?" asked the rat. Eric nodded slowly, and asked for a room. Looking the lion over for a moment, Tim nodded his head, and took out a key card. Typing in the information that Eric provided once the rat asked him, into the computer, Tim handed the lion the key card, then went back to playing a game on his computer. Rolling his eyes at the service that he was being given, Eric took the key card, and headed back outside to park his car.
Over an hour later, Eric was lying down on the bed of his hotel room, and let out a sigh. This is going to be a hard case. Working in the same place that I last saw Ariel might just do me in. That thought in mind, Eric sat up, and walked towards the bathroom, his tail swinging lazily behind him. As the lion walked into the bathroom, a sudden flash of white light filled up the room. A moment later, a black panther wearing a black suit, appeared in the middle of the room. The panther turned his head towards the bathroom door as it swung open, revealing a shirtless lion. "Hello Eric." said the panther. Eric, who had not seen the panther when he walked in, looked up at the sound of his voice, and quickly reached for the knife in his pocket. Seeing what the lion was going for, the panther raised his paw, and released a stream of energy. Almost immediately, Eric felt the energy hold him in place, and preventing him from moving. "It would do you no good to attack me with a knife. I'm an Angel, so it would not affect me. By the way, I go by the name Matthew." Eric looked at the angel with wary eyes, and then checked to see if he could still talk. Once he was satisfied that he could, the lion immediately started cursing. "If my fucking knife can't hurt you, then why the fuck did you decide to hold me back? Oh, and can you let me go you lousy ass assclown?" With a smirk, Matthew released the lion, and sat down on the bed. As he watched the Angel's every move, Eric grabbed his shirt from the bathroom, and slipped it on.
Once the lion finished putting on the shirt, he waited patiently for Matthew to start speaking. The Angel didn't waste any time. "About a year ago, when your lover sacrificed his soul to save you, a portal was opened in the same cemetery that you buried Ariel in. On the day of the funeral, the pastor killed every single mourner, excluding you, as you had already left." Eric's eyes widened at the news that he had just heard. That fucking pastor was a demon?!?!? Well, that's the last time I ever hire a pastor for a funeral. Seeing that the Angel was speaking again, Eric quickly went back to listening. "....The act brought Death to the cemetery. The demon possessing the pastor asked for two favors, and recently, her second favor was just granted. This demon that I speak of is called Lilith, and she is currently looking for a way to open up the gates of hell, so that she can get Bloodlial onto this earth." At those words, Eric slowly nodded his head, looked to both his right, and his left, then passed out. Matthew watched with grim amusement on his face as Eric slumped to the floor. Looks like I should've broken the news to this kid, a whole lot slower than I did. Rolling his eyes, the Angel walked over to the lion's unconscious body, picked him up, and placed him on the bed.
Location: The abandoned Amityville Horror House. Time: 12:29 a.m. Date: September 30th, 3029.
A flash of lightning lit up the night sky as Ariel walked around the Amityville Horror house. The Demon boy smiled as he heard the thunder crash in the distance. I just love the sound of thunder in the night time, thought Ariel as he walked by a bedroom. Just as he was thinking about just walking past the room, Ariel noticed a mirror in the room. Wanting to see the changes to his body, Ariel stepped into the room, closed the door, took off his trench coat, and stepped in front of the mirror. Wearing nothing but a tight black t-shirt, a pair of black jeans, and a pair of black Air Jordan's, gave Ariel a good estimation of his overall appearance. Ariel smiled at the demonic way his eyes looked, and then lifted the eye patch he had placed over his right eye. The smile on his face got wider as he looked at the hexagram that had been carved into the flesh surrounding his eye. Opening his mouth, Ariel ran his tongue, now transformed into that of a snake's, along the fangs that had replaced his teeth. If this doesn't let me bag a chick tonight, I don't know what will, thought Ariel with a small laugh. Closing his mouth, Ariel ran his clawed fingers through his now gray hair, and let out a sigh. You know what, the fangs, the snake tongue, the demonic eyes, the gray hair, the clawed fingers, the hexagram carved into my flesh, the addition of more muscle tone, and of course, my wings, they're really just gonna be a burden. That thought in mind, Ariel grabbed his trench coat, put it back on, and placed the hood over his head.
"Awww, now why would you cover your body back up? You were making me wet." said a female voice. Eyes widening, Ariel turned around, and was soon facing a beautiful tigress. Raising an eyebrow, Ariel made to walk over to the tigress, when he suddenly realized who it was. "Lilith, what are you doing here? And why the fuck would you talk about me like that?" Lilith laughed at Ariel's question, and then gave the Demon boy a quick hug. "I just enjoy seeing the look on your face, each and every time I do so." Ariel smirked at the reply, and then waited for Lilith to get to the real reason why she had visited him. Noticing the look on Ariel's face, Lilith sighed, and then started speaking. "Listen, I'm gonna need you to kill an angel for us. His name is Matthew." Once she finished speaking, Lilith looked at Ariel to see whether or not he would agree to do what she had just asked. The Demon boy gave the mission a quick thought, then nodded his head in agreement. "I'll do it, but I'm going to need a weapon." At that Lilith smiled, and then took a small box out of her pocket. Opening the box, and taking out the contents, she motioned for Ariel to get closer to her.
Ariel quickly obliged, and held out his right hand. "What I'm about to give you is a weapon that you should have had when you left your grave. This is a gun that is magically enforced with demonic energy. It is connected to your mind, and will change into whatever weapon you want. It is capable of killing Angels, and demons. Protect it with your life." With those words, Lilith pressed the gun into Ariel's hands, and then disappeared in a puff of smoke. Ignoring Lilith's exit, Ariel looked down at the gun in his hands, and willed it to turn into a sniper rifle. With a few *clicks,* the gun had changed into the sniper rifle Ariel wanted, and had a magazine of seven bullets. Smiling, Ariel turned to leave the house, when he noticed a piece of paper on the floor. Picking it up, and reading it, Ariel's smile grew wider. A moment later, he himself vanished in a puff of smoke.
Location: Marriott Hotel. Time: 1:32 a.m.
Eric let out a snarl as he felt a paw slap him hard across his muzzle. Quickly getting up so that he could face the person who assaulted him, Eric once again found himself held down by angelic energy. "You know, I really wish you wouldn't be so hasty in attacking me. Using all this energy is starting to get extremely annoying." scolded Matthew. Eric let out another snarl, pissed that the Angel had him bound again. "You're an Angel! My claws and gun won't hurt you! Why do you insist on binding me?!?!" At this, Matthew actually let out a small chuckle. "Okay, maybe I do it cuz it's funny." With those words, Matthew cut off the flow of energy, allowing Eric to move again. Growling, Eric sat up on the bed, and glared at the Angel, who just looked at him with nothing but a smile. Seeing that he wasn't fazing the Angel, Eric turned away with a huff, and started getting ready for bed. As he did so, Eric flicked his ears when he heard Matthew start talking again. "I have some bad news for you. That Dalmatian who was killed? Well he was killed by another demon who wasn't Lilith." Still getting ready for bed, but not wanting the conversation to be one-sided, Eric quickly spoke up. "If it wasn't Lilith, who was it?" When the lion didn't get any response, he turned to look at Matthew, and immediately noticed that the Angel had a nervous look on his face. Furrowing his brow, Eric walked over to Matthew, and placed a paw on his shoulders. "Come on man, who was it?" asked the lion.
Looking up at the lion, Matthew opened his mouth to speak. "The demon who killed that Dalmatian, was none other than-" Unfortunately, just as Matthew was about to say the demon's name, his head snapped backwards, and he fell to the ground. Immediately concerned, Eric went down on one knee, and was about to grab the Angel's shoulders, when a bright yellow light suddenly filled the room. As he quickly moved to shield his eyes, Eric realized that Matthew had just died right in front of him. How the fuck did he die? He was just about to tell me the name of the demon, when he suddenly fell over. Just as Eric finished that thought, the yellow light vanished, and left behind a very confused lion, and Matthew's slowly bleeding corpse. At that moment, Eric knew immediately that Matthew had just been shot by a sniper. Eyes wide, Eric quickly moved to grab his stuff, not wanting to stay in a room with a dead body. Just as he gathered the last of his things, Eric heard the sound of metal slicing through the air, and then a strange ticking sound. Looking towards the source of the sound, Eric let out a gasp when he noticed the feathered end of an explosive arrow. Moving quickly, Eric left his hotel room, pulled the fire alarm, and exited the lobby. Just as the doors closed behind him, Eric heard, and felt the arrow go off. The lion was thrown off his feet as the shockwave ran through his body. Getting back up on his feet, Eric looked up at the room he had been staying in, completely shocked. Who the fuck could have done something like that? They just killed a bunch of people! Still in shock, Eric's brain didn't could comprehend that he was in danger of getting in trouble when he heard the sound of approaching sirens of emergency vehicles.
It was only when he felt his hands being placed behind his back, and getting cuffed, did his brain finally reboot, and not a moment too soon. "You are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. If you give up that right, anything you say, can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you, at the expense of the state. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?" stated an officer, a fox who went by the name Leroy. Eric numbly nodded his head in confirmation. That was all the officer needed, and he was soon placing Eric inside a squad car. As the officer closed the door, Eric looked out the window towards the Marriott. The lion started gritting his teeth as he thought about the many ways he was going to get his revenge on the monster responsible for what happened.
That's the official end of this chapter. I'm not revealing any spoilers about chapter two, so don't bother asking. Anyways, as I have already stated, a lot of things that were the norm in book one of Evil Doesn't Die, has changed in the second book. Oh, and Darkness Rising is the continuation of Evil Doesn't Die.
