#1 of The Rich and The Poor

I know I have alot to explain for so please hear me out. I have been very busy with school and work and it doesn't allow me much time to work on my stories. Now I also know that I haven't completed my Public Enemies story and I promise you that read it...I WILL GET BACK TO IT! I've just had this story on my mind for awhile and I want to write it out so please don't think I do this just to torture you. Oh yeah and also as some of you posted in my PM ...i'm not dead -_- So please enjoy this new series I'm working on!

"Prince Yuuta I must say your looking quite dashing today!" A snob noble horse said holding a glass of the finest wine across Topal

"Oh...thank you Sir Conrad. I really thought since this party was a special occassion I should wear the best unifrom I had." I said slightly bored with the same compliments I have gotten before.

I am prince Yuuta Michaels. I am the only son of the powerful Michaels lineage which owns a thousand acres of land. The Michaels are a proud, long, and power line of tigers throughout the ages and I was a great example of their continued blessing.

I am a tiger with healthy orange fur and black strips around my back and chest that was physically perfect to my training. Every boy of the Michaels was not only taught how to be a king on day, but also a warrior. I loved my families history and nothing will ever put it in the dirt. Not while I breath!

The Michaels territory owned 3 villages. 2 of them were mostly farming villages and held little importance beside their crop which was the main income for our kingdom. But the capital of Riften was much different then the other 2 villages we had. It was a blooming city seeing great times ahead of themselves with a crime rate in the lowest in years....well at least in the top district.

Riften was divided into 3 districts, first was the top-town where all th nobles lived and would mostly just boast about how much money they make and all that other silly nonsense. The second was called mid-town where the common folk would work. There mostly blacksmiths, traders, alchemists, and healers. And lastly and most hated of all....low-town where all the flith and rabble go to roll in their own flith. They are mostly farmers and beggars with no use in this city and would be better off leaving and tearing down their poorly built and disgusting houses for firewood. I only say these horrible things because-

"So Yuuta is Castiel giving a hard time at school still? I heard he nearly beat you in the 50 meter race!" Conrad said getting a bit tispy with all the wine he was drinking....he was a slob but a rich slob.

"Castiel is a pig of a human and should learn his place in the world...I've told you this a million times Sir Conrad but then again when you get drunk I think you hear nothing what anyone says." I said annoyed not only by Sir Conrad but by the memories of Castiel...stupid peasant!

Castiel was a human. He had brown hair probably because he rolled in dirt or the sewers and the flith must have gotten into his eyes because his eyes were also brown. He was a vegetable farmer in the city and has know gotten the poor idea that he can beat me in school, he is sadly mistaken.

It may be wierd that the most noble children of Riften must share the same school with the poor of low town. 20 years ago each district had their own school. The high-town school ,though, was bought by a rich knight who tore it down and rebuilt his mansion there. The low town ,which was amazingly still standing, stood no more as the foundation was bound to collapse on itself in the matter of time. Luckily the mid-town school was left untouched and thats where the children go to get their education in their lifes.

Riften may be a peaceful place now but we always train our kids for the day it may not be peaceful. The mid-town school is not only an education school but a training school where kids learn how to fight with swords and axes and how to properly use armor. It also had the basic classes of History and math and such....And like all the Michaels before I was clearly the top of my class.

"I doun't knowu-I hearf that Castiel lost by only af stef!" Conrad said clearly drinking to much. Why was I even bothering talking to Sir Conrad?

"Castiel will soon learn his place. I just have to beat him down and show him how little he is to me, but he is like a cockroach no matter how much you step on him he gets back up still being a pest." I said growing in anger.

It was all true...he was always annoying me ever since I first met him when we were 11. Every race, every test became a contest to see who was better then the other and I won each time! If he got a 99 on a test, I got 100 if he ran a mile in 3 minutes I ran it in 2 mintues and 59 seconds. It is no surprise that the others are no where near our rivalry towards each other....somehow our contests become the talk of town and it seems to them to be the great battle of Me, Yuuta the rich and Castiel the poor.

Sadly the teachers don't allow me and Castiel to swordfight or box each other for fear that we might literally kill each other during the fight...I find it offensive that they think that little urchin could really hurt me! I just have to keep beating him down until he learns his lesson.

"I'ma togually wifth yoer Yuotpa I-" Conrad said still drunk on the chairs we were both sitting on.

"Conrad you need to get some sleep please servants escort Sir Conrad back to his mansion" I said and 3 servants picked the heavy horse up and dragged him out of the main hall where the party was taking place while I left alone with my thoughts on the chair.

Castiel and I were the same age....18 prime fighting age. Hopefully that little peasant gets sent off to some war in another territory so I can finally get some peace and rest in school. I knew Castiel hated me as much as I hated him, that is the one thing I will not doubt about him were complete opposites.........The rich and The poor.

These parties are so boring most of the time. I think why I like talking to Sir Conrad once in awhile is that he is the life of the party and will do something no one expects, the rest of them just talk and are boring as can be. My father and mother were sitting on there thrones while I looked at them with envy and amazement...one day I'll be as strong and proud as my father...and I sit on that gold throne over my people...it will be such an honor that day. I can only keep down pigs like Castiel for now to make sure he doesn't get any stupid ideas.

I saw my father motioning his hand for me to talk to him and I left my seat passing by all the nobles who sounded the same even though they were different species. I bowed down as soon as I was at my fathers feet and he chuckled.

"Still humble to be around me son? This throne will be yours one day! You can just walk up to me whenever you want." My father said with a proud smile.

"I must be humble father. I want everyone to know that the last day I was one the throne and passed my throne to my children was a great as the first time I sat on it." I said standing up and so did my father giving me a hug.

"Oh son....I'm so proud to have such a great boy to continue my line. You are the future of the Michaels line and you make me prouder every day. I love you Yuuta my son." My father said getting a bit teary.

"I love you too dad. But is there something you want? Why did you call me over?" I asked

"Son you must have heard of the contest taking place in school tomorrow yes?" He asked as I just remembered what happened in school today.

"Yes father it is the captain recruitment tests!" I with my tail swingging side to side.

I may act humble and proud all the time but my tail is the one who protrays my real emotions. I've had this little problem since I was a lad and no matter what I did I couldn't stop it from moving about so I just allow it to do whatever it wants and thankfully I think its learned how to lie about emotions too. It can act casual while I'm secretly mad and that.

But this was more important! The captain recruitment tests! What an honor it will be to be one of the 7 out of the 1000 kids that go to that school to be choosen as future captains. While I may be a prince it was still tradition that every Michaels pass the test to show his worth.

"I know for a fact you'll pass son. So tell me....what do you think of Castiel?" He asked suddenly ruining my happy moment as I gave a big sigh in disappiontment.

"Father he'll never be a good captain. I'll put him down during the tests so that-" I said before

"I meant as a soldier...is he a strong warrior as i've heard?" My father asked and I almost didn't want to believe the words I was hearing.

Castiel?! A good warrior?! That little peasant gets acknowledged in my fathers mind?! No I can't allow that to happen! But....I can't lie to my father.

"If you really need a warrior dad...I suppose you call on Castiel...but really dad there are much better recruits in Riften." I said biting my tongue with the words that tasted like acid in my mouth....saying Castiel...was a warrior....just horrible times we live in.

The party went swiftly after that. I went to bed early as always but it would be needed for my tests tomorrow. As soon as the sun was up I got out of my fancy and great large bed filled with sliky and fancy pillows and blankets and got dressed in my casual clothing. Commoner clothing wasn't all that bad, it was loose fitting and flexible which would be needed for my tests.

I walked down high town that was littered with guards and went down to mid town. The area had numerous people walking about and going about their business as I went over to the massive school that stood out against the other surrounding buildings...the school itself was a nice reminder of war for each part of the social class.

For the rich the school was considered poor and useless even though I didn't think of it as that. I looked at it with the reminder that war is hell and the rich must realize that the enemy will not care for your gold. The poor people of low-town looked up to it as the possible glory and honor they could win in war. And for mid town...well...it was nearby and it didn't interferred with their busy lives.

I went over to the classroom and sat down on my desk waiting with excitment for the tests to become a new captain! My tail was darting about happily as the students entered the classroom one by one. I gave my hellos to the rich and the mid-town residents who I supposed deserved some respect. I ignored the low town rabble until-

A human with brown hair and casual but a bit torn clothes came in looking around at the class until he finally made eye contact with me and we both shared an intense staredown. I heard Castiel give a huff and went over to his seat as I continued a low growl almost wanting to attack him right there....but I'll have my chance.

I long to dig my claws into his chest and make him suffer for all the times he thinks he was better then me. I want the others to watch to show them that anyone that challenges me like Castiel will meet the same fate but I was not immune to the law...I would be put in jail if I did that...and no Michaels have ever gone to jail before.

We all started to talk and chatter about the each others weekend until the teacher and heavily armed guard that was a captian of the town guard stepped in each holding a big stack of papers. The papers dropped on the teachers table and made everyone look up at the two.

"Good morning students, as you know it is the captains recruitment tests today! Know I hope you all got a good nights rest and are prepared for this?" The teacher asked.

"Always.." I muttered lowly to myself.

"Students remember now that there is no shame in not passing these tests. There have been many example throughout history where a warrior becomes a king. Now before I bore you with the examples I must inform you that there will be 3 tests. First is the written test." He said holding up the paper.

"Every captain knows each law and knows who made that law. Every captain must be ready to think of a new plan and be the most intelligent of the group to get him and his guards out of any situation alive." He said proudly as I knew he never lost a man in his 20 years of being a captian.

"Second is the warrior fight. Obviously in order to be a warrior of anykind you must know how to fight. We had some accidents last year that we will not repeat this year." He said looking at me then Castiel....

Last year during some tests well...we had a little tussle. I obviously won the fight I got a black eye while....well he got a black eye too...but his was much worse! Everyone else said it looked like a tie. I hated Castiel...he was a stupid human not learning to know his place. Fighting a tiger and a prince whos been fighting all his life....how stupid could a person get?

"The warrior tests will be all sorts of weapons used against dummies. The weapons are sword, claymore, mace, and a warhammer. We will have healers nearby if there is an accident." The captain said

"Then finally the racing competition. Every captain must be ready to run to any where in the city with a seconds notice. This is one of the most important things about being a captain. Good luck future warriors now take the written test and I'll be waiting for the first person in the fighting ring." The captain said leaving the room and I jumped out of my seat and rushed at the stack of papers.

I placed my hand on the first paper but then nearly on my hand was a human hand. I turned my head to see Castiel only about a foot away from me. What force was holding me back from killing him right there I'll never know. I roughly grabbed the paper.

"I got the first paper again...as usual." I said taunting his speed as I heard him give his own growl as he picked up the second paper in the stack.

I immediately started to answer the questions I knew from heart. The test that was suppose to last an hour only took me about 20 minutes as I got back up and placed it hard on the table looking at Castiel only to see him once again only a foot away from me...He must have completely the test at nearly the same time as me....but once again I was faster.

"Why do you even try you peasant?" I said with a smirk and going out the door.

"Shouldn't you be wearing tights you ugly pussycat?" he said and I just wanted to punch him right there...the second I have the chance...I'm going to make him suffer.

I went over to the fighting ring and noticed 4 dummies in the ring 2 were made of hay and two were made of stone. I went over to the captain who was amazed yet unsurprised to see me be the first one to complete the writing test.

"Well Yuuta I'm sure you know what to do...first grab the sword" He said pointing to the weapons stand and I saw the fine blade. I picked it up and out of the corner of my eye I noticed Castiel entering as well...my anger built up as I approached on of the hay dummies and heard the timer said.

"Ready? GO!" He said as I unleashed my fury on the poor hay man.

With single slashes and swings of my sword I cut off the dummies arms then his head and I finished him off by cutting off half of his torso. I continued this rampage with each weapon against each dummy until the ring was left with nothing but bits of hay and pebbles of stone....all the time I was imagining it being Castiel who I was cutting and smashing to bits. Sweat dripped off my body as I looked up at Castiel who only keep a glare at me as I glared back.

"You look tired prince...maybe you should leave fighting to the real warriors." He said as I growled loudly at the mockery. The captain already getting ready to stop a fight between us.

"Sure you know any good warriors because I don't see any here! Maybe the flith has gotten into your eyes." I said back as I went over to the race track.

I heard Castiel unleashing his fury on the dummies as I walked down the hallways to the running area...he sounded...angry...He-No! I am stronger! I have always been stronger! I have more strength and speed then he could ever dream of! He was an ugly human! Despite having alot of girls being around him....girls must be blind.

I waited by the race track as they told me that they needed 8 people in order to race. Not surprisingly Castiel was the second to enter the track as we continued to growl and hated each other for all we stand for. He thinks hes so tough...if I could box him I would make him sorry for the pain and annoyances in the past. Castiel looked a bit tired from the warrior course but he kept his head high ready for the racing track that covered half a mile of the city we live in.

Finally after another hour 6 other students arrived to the track all looking like they've been put through hell and they still had the racing track to deal with. We all lined up with sadly me and Castiel lined up with each other as I smelt the flith of low-town from him. Both of us growling at each other ready to claim the first place in this race.

"Ready students? On your marks! Get set...GO!" The timer said as I dashed down the race track leaving everyone in my dust. I almost wanted to slow down as I turned my head and noticed.....Castiel! He was nearly about next to me! Maybe a step behind but now it was time to get serious. Both of us were dashing like crazy down the track as neither one of us held the lead for long.

My legs started to burn like crazy and so did my lungs as I forced my body to run down the half mile to beat Castiel. Sweat was pouring out of both of us and the air was filled with each others scent...which disgusted me. At last we neared the finish line with the guard who were watching amazed by each others speed.

At near unison we both got through the ribbon and nearly immediately we started argueing who won it as we were panting.

"I win you fat tiger!" Castiel shouted

"Like hell you did you bastard!" I shouted back

"I only hear a bunch of shit coming out of you mouth!"

"You son of a bitch!" I said before I tackled him to the ground and I unleashed a few punches to his cheek. I felt my face burn and sting with pain as he punched back. We were at each others throats before the captain broke us up and I noticed blood coming out of Castiels mouth. I smirked before I tasted something in my mouth.....my blood...

"You dare hit a prince! I'll fuc-!" I said ready to fight on before

"If either of you start the fight again your tests will not be counted and you both will fail!" The captain said both annoyed and angry about all the fights we've been in before.

"Like hell they should! He attacked me! Hes a mindless animal! Put him in jail!" Castiel argued before the captain who was a bull pulled on his hair and my fur making us both shout in pain.

"I said enough...I can't believe you two! You would think you two would be best friends by how much you fight each other but instead-........forget it...go back home the test is done" He said dropping us both to the ground and we only gave each other death glares again and went our separate ways.

I arrived back to the castle washing out the cut in my gums punching the stone walls very hard angry that I should have finished the fight there....I'll make him suffer...he probably won't even make the captains list....and what the hell was the captain saying? Me? and Castiel?! Friends?! I'd rather be in jail then put up with another second of the little freak.

My tail puffed up at the memories before as I hated every moment I met Castiel...that absolute worthless human...he should just rot in the streets like the rest of them! I knew that it was to late now and the only thing I could do was train some more and then go to bed. I went into the training room my father built for my and went over to the punching bag. I removed my shirt showing my excellent pecs and 8 pac abs...a body Castiel wishes he had.

As I thought about Castiel I punched the bag furiously. Right hit, left hit every single kind of punch you could deliver before I just started tearing my claws into the poor bag wishing that Castiel was in it......Thats it....after the test results come in.

I'm challenging him to a fight....and I'll make him sorry that he ever lived!
