Can't Keep My Eyes Off of Him (Part 7/8)

Dylan awoke to loud noise. "Hrm...Wh-What...?" he groaned sleepily. It was still dark outside, and the only light in the room came from the bathroom, shining through a closed door. He looked down. Sometime during the night, his manhood had retracted back into its slit, and he and Xavier were detached. He noticed the otter sleeping soundly next to him. He grunted, apparently disturbed by the same noise that awoke his dragon mate.

"What was that?" Xavier asked, in a rather raspy voice.

"Um...sounded like a car door," the dragon mumbled.

"Oh...what time is it?"

Dylan rolled over to check his alarm clock, which was still unplugged. He groaned, stood up, and stumbled over to his desk. He blindly slammed his claw down onto the table until he found his cell phone. He flipped it open, to discover that it was turned off. He groaned again. He started slapping the table once more, until he found his watch. Still dark, he pressed the light-up feature, and find that it was five in the morning.

"Too early!" he said harshly.

Xavier gave him a puzzled look. "It's five, darling," Dylan explained.

"Oh...Hey, don't you have to pick up your mom and sister at five?" Xavier asked.

"Nope, they're coming by taxi, and should arrive right about...now..." Dylan said nonchalantly, until the realization drew the color out of his face.

Xavier figured it out immediately, and almost fainted. "That's twice in a row! Why does my time with you always have to be walked in on?!" he yelled. "What do we do?!"

Dylan started panicking. "Okay, I got it!" he suddenly said, "Let's clean up really quickly. My mom won't have any problem with us being together, but seriously...I don't want her finding out we had sex..." Dylan said, making a gagging noise to emphasize his point.

"Good plan. I like it," Xavier said with a smile.

Dylan ran to his bathroom to grab a towel, threw it to Xavier, and grabbed another for himself. They started cleaning up the evidence of their loving last night, although it was only a few hours ago. Sounds of squealing tires were heard as a car drove away. They could hear chattering outside the window. The front door was opened and closed.

"Dylan! I still don't have any clothes!" whispered Xavier urgently.

"Oh sorry," said Dylan with a smirk, tossing him a pair of gym shorts and a T-shirt.

Soon, the bed was made, books were scattered to give the illusion of studying, and they were both wearing clothes. The room looked neater and any evidence of their love making was either cleaned up or stuffed in the closet.

"So..." said Xavier with a small smirk, "do I look sexy in your clothes?"

"Very," replied Dylan with a grin, kissing the otter on the forehead.

"Dylan!" someone shouted from across the hall. "Get down here and help us with our luggage! If we're not sleeping, neither can you!"

The dragon and the otter quickly opened the door, stumbling down the hallway toward the kitchen. There, stood two female dragons. One was blue with deep purple horns. The other was teal with horns and spines colored green, and had a lollipop in her mouth.

"Danielle!" Dylan yelled at his sister, "Why do you have to be so loud? We were studying!"

"Psh. At five in the morning? I'm not as stupid as you, you know," said the teal dragon with a grin.

"Hi mom," Dylan said, giving her a quick hug.

"So Dyl's, did you have fun while we were away?"

"Yeah... so much fun," Dylan said sarcastically.

"Any wild parties? Have you already lost your virginity?!" his mother jokingly accused.

Dylan scoffed. "Yes!" he secretly thought to himself.

Suddenly, Danielle removed her lollipop, pointing with a claw toward Xavier standing shyly by the hall. "Who's he?" she asked in a taunting voice.

"He's my boy-" Dylan started. "He's my friend," he said quickly, covering up his earlier statement. He knew his parents wouldn't have a problem with it, but he didn't want to expose them just yet.

"H-hi...I'm...Xavier..." the otter said quietly.

"Oh he's cute!" Dylan's mom exclaimed, extending her claw for a paw-shake. "I'm Sandra," she said matter-of-factly.

They met in the middle with a quick shake, and Xavier quickly let go.

Danielle removed her lollipop again, brandishing it to point at Xavier's leg. "There's white liquid running down your leg, you know. Did you spill white-out or something?"

Xavier squeaked, so Dylan quickly lied, "Yeah, we were doing a project"

"Oh Dylan, I need to talk to you really quickly," Danielle said, grabbing his arm.

"Uh...okay...Xavier...you can stay here with my mom..." Dylan said slowly, going with Danielle down the hall.

Xavier stood in the corner with his teeth clenched, trying to fake a smile to reduce the awkward atmosphere. With a smirk, Sandra pushed him to the table and forced him to sit down while she poured him a cup of tea.

"Okay, your room?" she asked, directing them both to the room at the end of the hall.

"Sure," he said. Then he remembered all the musk that was probably still there. "Wait no!" he shouted. "Your room!"

"Fine..." she said, leading him to her own room.

She closed the door, to the suspicion of the brother. "Dylan..." she started, "So, you know how I went to visit my friend out of the country?"

"Yup," he replied. How could he forget?

"Okay, so her name is Liza. And as it turns out, we both figured out something"

"Uh...you figured out what?" Dylan asked, still skeptical.

"That we both have feelings for each other" she said simply.

"Oh. Okay. Wait. What?!"

"Listen. I really like her. I might even love her. She's graduating from college next year, and if we really hit it off, we might find an apartment of our own here"

"Oh. Okay. Sure...Why are you telling me this?" Dylan said. He didn't mind that his sister liked other females. He was just feeling guilty that he hadn't told anyone about his relationship with Xavier while his sister was open about hers with Liza.

"Because I'm telling mom later, and I don't want you to be too surprised, 'kay?"

"Um... okay. You know, both of us are fine with this..."

"I know, I just want to tell you guys, because really, how can you truly be in a relationship if you try to keep it a secret?"

Dylan winced a little, trying to figure out what to do.

Dylan and Danielle returned to the kitchen, where Xavier was finally relaxing, engaging is a mostly one-sided conversation with Sandra. The two siblings took the other two seats at the table. "Guys...I need to say something really quickly," said Danielle.

"Ya-huh?" inquired Sandra.

"Okay, um..." Danielle closed her eyes, and said it as fast as she could. "SoMeAndLizaAreDatingAndIThinkILoveHerAndWe'llBeMovingInTogetherNextYear!" She opened one eye.

Sandra raised one eyebrow. "Interesting... so I guess all three of you like the candy vag!" she exclaimed merrily, clapping her claws together.

Dylan and Danielle groaned and rolled their eyes simultaneously. They were used to their mother's crass language and constant jokes, be they funny or not. Xavier was not so lucky. He had been drinking out of his teacup to avoid catching anyone's eye in the awkward moment. When he heard the two words "candy vag" he spit it out all over Dylan and started coughing. Dylan cast him a sarcastic "Really?" look and wiped it off with a towel next to him.

Sandra was laughing hard. She banged her fisted claw on the table to illustrate this. Finally, she recovered. Dylan realized that now was a good time to make a confession of his own. "I need to tell her," he told himself. "Another chance like this may not come again!"

"Actually, I don't," Dylan said out loud with a straight face.

"You don't what?" Sandra asked, still snickering.

"Like the candy vag," Dylan replied calmly.

Sandra was left speechless, while Danielle started cracking up. Their mother gathered her wits again, and sported a surprised yet forlorn look. "Wow..." she said. "Taking advantage of your sister's confession like that to make a joke...I'm really disappointed in you, Dylan"

The dragon's mouth dropped. He was telling the truth! He decided to support his claim with something he'd been itching to do ever since Xavier started shooting shy glances at him. He turned to the otter, and locked lips with him. Xavier's eyes flung open in surprise, but he decided to close them to complete the effect.

The kiss only lasted a few seconds, but it was sufficient to convey the point. Danielle wolf-whistled. When they broke apart, Xavier was substantially blushing, and started drinking tea again to hide it. Sandra tried to redeem herself with another joke. "I hope you two had fun last night," she said, raising her eyebrow and a corner of her muzzle. Xavier spit out his tea over Dylan again.

Dylan stuffed his things into his bag, watching Xavier to something similar. "I'll drive us both there," said the otter. Dylan smiled and nodded.

"Xavier!" a voice across the hall shouted, sounding worried. Xavier rushed to the kitchen to see Sandra standing with a phone in her claw. "I'm sorry," she said immediately, looking forlorn.

"What for?" he asked, puzzled.

"I just called your parents, and told them you were here..."

"Oh..." said Xavier, looking down at the floor.

"They said they would come and drop all of your things off at our house..."

"I-I...but they...I thought they..." Xavier faltered.

"I'm sorry, honey. You know what? I'll be your parent, if that's okay with you, of course" Sandra stated with conviction.

"R-really?" asked Xavier, with tears in his eyes.

"Really. You can stay with us. Seriously, you'll just sleep in Dylan's room, as long as you don't creak the bed too much!" she said with a naughty smile.

"Thanks Sandra!" Xavier said happily, hugging her.

"Call me mom," she said with a small smile.

Xavier left to find Dylan already waiting in his car with his car keys. He quickly grabbed his things, and slid into the driver's seat. "I love you brother!" he said jokingly, kissing the dragon quickly on the muzzle. It didn't take long to explain. Xavier had never felt happier in his life. He never thought that his parents really accepted him, and this was proven to him just two days ago. He knew it hurt, that the people who raised him didn't want him anymore. But his heart had love that was compensated to him more than he could ever need. He now had a loving mother with a sense of humor he didn't quite understand, a cool sister, and a wonderful brother that also happened to be his mate.

Well, I suggest not thinking of them as brothers, really...(unless you're into that sort of thing)
