This is my first attempt at a furry story, please give me some feedback and let me know how I did, or if you'd like to suggest/request some characters or something. All I need is one person to e-mail me, and I'll write more. Oh, there's no yiff yet, but there is something that happens later in the story that's pretty good. ^^; So, nobody under 18 view this. But, if you are, and you're still going to, that's all on you.

Chapter 1: Dixon's Abnormal Night

It was just a another lonely night for Dixon. He sat at the club bar, drinking his Bailey's on the rocks, kicking his feet a bit on the barstool. The Cheetah was -very- bored. He gazed around the place, hoping to spot somefur he knew, or had at least seen before, to no avail. Dixon shook his head at the bartender as the rather cute(but married) Husky asked him if he wanted a refill. He rested his head on his paw and sat about like a bored person does when they're bored.

To describe this male doesn't take much. He's your pretty basic Cheetah, right down to the spots and facial markings common among the species. He was dressed that night in a long, baggy-pants-looking skirt(Meaning that it fastens around the waist), that almost touched the floor, made of black vinyl or leather(he couldn't tell), some acid-green Converse All-Stars, and a fishnet shirt over one of those shirts that has semi-cutoff sleeves and shows all his tummy. There was a collar around his neck, too, which was quite thick and had a steel plate riveted in the front, which had a d-ring attached to it, which had a solid O-ring attached to it(Solid meaning there's no seam). It jingled whenever he moved. His hair was back in a ponytail, medium brown with jet-black tips about an inch long.

Anyhow, as he was sitting around all boredlike and such, he wasn't much paying attention to stuff around him. He was more involved with wondering what was in that jar behind the bar. He was wrapped up so much so that he didn't notice when someone sat next to him until he called to the bartender, "'Ey bruv', get us another drink!" He said it firmly, but with a British accent that made the statement sound less like an order and more like he was asking at the bartender's convenience. Dixon jumped a little and turned to face the source of the voice, a 5'5" German Shepherd. The Cheetah downed the last of his drink and arched his back a bit, quite a few pops and a happy purr being heard. He patted the bar in front of him gently, a polite way to ask for another drink, he thought. The bartender certainly didn't seem to mind. He felt eyes upon him and turned to see the Shepherd gazing at him from one seat over.

He tilted his head slightly, "You alright?"

Dixon groaned softly, the Cheetah taking a few seconds to register he had been spoken to, "Ugh... If quite drunk and feeling like I just got chewed up counts, then I guess so." He smiled and nodded to the bartender as he handed him another Bailey's. He sipped it and set it back down.

The Shepherd giggled quietly at the Cheetah's reply and got his drink, as well, and got up to leave, but just as he was about to step away from the barstool, he shrugged and set his drink back on the counter and sat back down, spinning around on the stool once, turning to face Dixon, "I assume simply because you're here that you're gay."

The Cheetah smirked softly and nodded, "That would be the case." He rested his head on his folded arms now, feeling very much like a nap would be a good thing.

The Shepherd nodded, "I also assume that simply because you look it, you're about stone drunk." The Cheetah nodded this time, almost drifting off, with a, "Mmm-hmmm..." Dixon spun the barstool around so that he was facing away from the bar, but still lying partially on it, not particularly wanting to fall asleep here. Cool air met his sweat-drenched face and neck, and helped wake him up slightly. He opened his eyes and reached into his pocket for his cigarettes, which were in a brushed steel case with a sterling silver rose-vine-looking thing wrapped about a victorian cross(the ones with four equal-length sides) inlayed in the front center of it. He popped it open and withdrew one of the mentholated cigarettes, holding it with his lips by the end of the filter. Dixon closed the case and reached in his other pocket for his prized System of a Down Zippo, with which he lit his cigarette. Just before he put away the case, he looked to the Shepherd and took a long drag from the stick, inhaling, blowing the smoke upward and smiling to the dog.

"Care for one?" Dixon held the case out to the Shepherd, who accepted it quite happily, opening it and also lighting up a cigarette(With Dixon's lighter). Dixon stuffed the things back in their respective pockets and enjoyed the minty flavor of the cigarette, the music from the club muted slightly by the large transparent wall between it and the bar. He decided to take command of conversation by turning his head to the Shepherd and taking a small breath, "Come here often?"

The other male jumped a bit, not expecting to be asked a question, "Oh... Well, not really... This is my second of third time here, actually..."

Dixon smiled and nodded, taking a sip of his drink, which he was now balancing on his lap. He took another long drag from the cigarette, exhaling thick smoke in the form of several smoke-rings, then nodded, "I think I might've seen you before. You dance a lot?"

The Shepherd grinned and blushed a bit, looking away for a second and nodding, "Yeah... Every time I've come here." Dixon nodded, and the Shepherd made another comment, "I saw you earlier... I came to get a drink up here. I thought you had passed out."

Dixon giggled at that and shrugged, "Well, when you have 12 drinks, that can happen." The Shepherd nodded and smiled. Dixon sat up on the barstool, turning to face the as of yet unnamed Shepherd directly, "I assume simply because you're a sentient being that you've got a name. Might I hear it?"

The Shepherd smiled and nodded, extending a paw as he said, "Name's Alex." Dixon held out his own paw, shaking the offered one as he nodded, "Pleasure to meet you, Alex, I'm Dixon."

Alex nodded and shook back, "Pleasure to meet you, as well." Dixon nodded, taking another drag from his cigarette, glancing at the bartender from the corner of his eye, who was looking right at the Cheetah and the Shepherd. He giggled and got an idea, "Say, you like to dance right?"

Alex jumped at the enthusiasm with which Dixon burst out, but replied, "Oh yeah."

Dixon grinned and pointed in the general direction away from the dance floor, "They've got DDR here."

Alex gaped for a second and hopped up, "Let's go."

Dixon giggled and grabbed his drink, taking one last drag from the cigarette before stubbing it out in an ashtray on the bar and walking with his new friend to the arcade, away from the loud music and people.

As they found the machine, right in the middle of the rather large arcade, where you could see from anywhere in the whole place, they both stepped up and inserted coins(Dixon had supplied them, seeing as how it was his idea). They had more than enough to quickly get back in the game if they ran out of credits. A dixie cup full of about $50 of quarters, actually. Anyhow, they chose a standard dance song, and began. The fast-paced rhythm and sound of their feet hitting the beat pad were all that was going on now, everybody quitting their games and wandering over.

Dixon was the best person he and all his friends knew at DDR. He was surprised that Alex was about his match. After they had finished their fourth or fifth song, they decided to kick it up a notch or two, selecting a "Difficult" song. Dixon just grinned as they started, their feet hitting the beat pad at the exact same time, making for an odd feeling of euphoria around the two. Dixon felt it probably more than anyone, having met his last boyfriend at a DDR tournament. He looked to Alex, who he realized was looking right back at him. Apparently, they didn't need to look at the song because each had apparently played it more than enough times to have it memorized. They smiled at each other and went back to the song, as the difficult part was coming up. The chorus of the song was labeled by almost everyone as the hardest part of the particular song they were on, and no one disagreed. Dixon chose to look like he was doing more of an Irish step-dance than anything else, and Alex had chosen more of a breakdancing style, turning around and using his hands and such. But when the chorus came, both the Cheetah and the Shepherd knew only one way to do it. They did it absolutely flawlessly, even putting in a slide and doing it backwards, facing away from the screen, then going back to it. It was an extraordinary sight, to say the least. The song had many odd holds and combinations, including several which you had to use a hand for, but each fur got through the song perfectly, having no bad marks whatsoever, and tying for the top spot. Although they had the same scored, Dixon was listed first because of his name, but they both had "1" by their names on the scoreboard, and the same points. After that, everyone in the place cheered, and the two walked off to a nearby table where the bottom of Dixon's skirt lay. It was one of those zip-off ones that you could take apart and such. He had out his cigarettes and his drink sat next to them, lighter there, too. He took two out, handing one to Alex, "You were absolutely incredible! I've never seen someone match me for score on DDR."

Alex grinned, putting the cigarette between his lips, whipping out some matches and lighting it, "You, as well, and I'm the top scorer in the UK at just about every arcade in my area." He shrugged and Dixon lit up his cigarette, taking a seat and offering the other to Alex, "Well, I guess that's a good thing."

Alex smirked, "Indeed."

Dixon had propped his feet up on the table, which was a bit low, and he unknowingly gave Alex a pretty good view up the skirt to his black thong, which only barely held and hid his junk. Alex blushed and giggled at Dixon, pushing his feet off the table, to which Dixon tilted his head, "S'there a problem with me having my feet up?"

Alex snickered, "Only if you don't enjoy flashing me."

Dixon looked down and grinned, pulling the straps of his thong up a bit, so they showed past the waistband of the skirt, "Like what you saw?"

Alex smirked, "Maybe." Dixon giggled and took a drag from his cigarette, the Shepherd doing the same. They exhaled at one another, the smoke clashing and swirling like a big cloud. Dixon reclined a bit in his seat, one knee being lifted, his tail covering his naughty stuff effectively. Alex smiled, "Well, ready to get back to it?"

Dixon shrugged and nodded, "Let's do it."

Well, the night had been an extremely fun one, the pair of furs showing all other what DDR was supposed to look like. They played "Flight of the Bumblebee" like nobody's business, missing maybe, MAYBE, one or two steps. They even made money just for playing Beethoven's Fifth. Eventually, though, people began to grow tired and such, and many left for either the bar, the dance stage, or to their beds. Dixon and Alex were extremely tired and sweaty from the rather heavy DDR playing, and were taking another break at the table, "Beethoven's Fifth is totally the hardest song on DDR."

They were arguing about which song was most difficult.

"No way, I say Flight of the Bumblebee." Alex had a bit of trouble on that song, although he didn't miss but one, he didn't get a lot of points. Anyhow, each had a cigarette and a bottle of water, and were dripping with sweat.

"Well, whatever. You did good." Dixon extended his paw to Alex, smiling.

"And you, as well." Alex extended his own paw, shook Dixon's briefly and smiled back. They finished their cigarettes and Dixon looked at the time, "Jesus Christ! D'you realize that we've been playing for about 3 hours?"

Alex giggled, "Y'know what they say, time flies, and all." Dixon giggled some, nodded, took a sip of water, took one last drag on the cigarette, and stubbed it out, "Well, I hate to say it, but I need to get going home..." He stood slowly, stretching his legs straight and lifting his arms high over his head, arching his back and tilting his head back. Alex looked at Dixon's skirt for a second, blushing some as the holdy part of the Cheetah's thong showed again. Alex stood and nodded, "I s'pose I should, too..." They looked at each other for a few moments, eyes tracing carefully, memorizing every detail. Dixon reached over to the zipped-off skirt bottom and stepped into it, purposely flashing Alex as he lifted each knee with a wink, and zipped the garment back together.

Oh, I forgot to describe Alex fer ya's... Well, he's 5'5", very lithe-yet-muscular, and was garbed that night in some black jeanshorts, a cutoff t-shirt, and a pair of Vans. He looked like a punk skater, and his hair was gelled up in jet-black spikes. Anyways...

Dixon stepped over to Alex and put a paw on his upper arm, rubbing a bit, almost sad to have to leave. Alex looked that way, too, but smiled a bit to lighten the mood. Dixon moved close to the German Shepherd, the paw on that arm pulling him close, his spare moving around the male's back. He leaned forward slightly and placed a tender, sweet kiss on Alex's lips, keeping it PG. Alex was a little surprised, but responded positively to the Cheetah's arms and the kiss, and kissed back gently, both pairs of eyes closing for the duration.

Dixon was the one who broke the kiss, slowly, and he looked up at Alex, nibbling at his lower lip, "Alex, I had a really fun night tonight."

He almost whispered that, but Alex replied, "So did I."

Dixon smiled and rubbed a paw over Alex's back gently, pulling him close, "D'you think this could be considered our first date?"

Alex smirked and replied, "Only if you think it could."

Dixon wrapped his tail around Alex, pulling him into a full hug, the Cheetah's chin going over Alex's shoulder and vice-versa. Alex hugged back warmly, and Dixon whispered into his ear, "I really like you, Alex, but I don't want things to move too fast, y'know?"

Alex just nodded a little bit, "I completely agree."

Dixon smiled and pulled away from the German Shepherd, a paw running over his abs before he parted completely, "Be here tomorrow at 6:00."

Alex smiled and nodded, "It's a date."

Dixon giggled, "Indeed it is."

Alex waved to the Cheetah, who left through the arcade entrance, into the bar, and most likely out onto the dance floor and out the front door. Alex sat down at the table, seeing the cigarette case, bottle of water, and lighter sitting there.

"Shit." He picked up the objects and rushed out the door after Dixon.
