#36 of Poetry

This was a sophmore English assignment. We were required to write a poem about ourselves. Here it is.

Places of Me

The silent ssshhh of black

Need not make its way back,

For to mine eyes it appeals.

The taste of savory red meat

Playfully swims in the pool

Of summer's hottest day.

Its ways have made it

Into my taste.

Yet this taste I feel I have so rare.

Yet my favorite place,

My place of residence,

Is hardest yet.

Residing in safety

Discussing,

with best friends trusted;

Or is it residing

Within mine self?

Someday I will find

The place that is this place of mine.

_The Senses_ I feel so blind I can't see what to expect Nothing to nourish my sight If seeing is believing, Where to see the beliefs? I feel so silent No sound is present The words have vacated No understanding Is left. I feel so deaf ...
