Author's Comments

I've never written anything involving anthromorphic wolves or anything with homosexual themes before. I'm not a professional writer, I just do it in my free time, so all constructive criticism is welcome :D

As it stands this is a rough draft, but I have a bad habit of not revising anything until more of the project is finished, so there still may be some lingering grammatical errors, unfinished thoughts, and minimal details, so please bear with me :P

Allan's fur trickled watery liquid into a puddle surrounding where he was standing...or at least attempting to stand. He knew who he was, he remembered his life up until the point they came for him. He had no fur back then, and judging by what he could make of his body, a considerable amount of time must have passed since then.

The glass capsule he had just emerged from made a strange vacuum sound as it flushed the excess chemical solution from it's bowls. Some of the strange smelling liquid seeped into his eye and out of reflex he drew his hand to his face. It was only when his "hand" made contact with the short fur on his face and then suddenly realized his digits now more resembled that of a dog's paw did reality finally ground itself within him. He.....was no longer human.

The room was dimly lit, the white walls, floors, and ceiling doing the best they could to reflect the single light source in the center of the room. His vision had not yet fully recovered, but just in front of him he thought he could make out the outline of a doorway. He tried to take a step, and then decided he should wait a few more minutes before attempting anything that required coordination. A few moments pass that feel like hours, and he finally closes the distance between him and the door.

Placing his hand on the handle, he momentarily examined his hand....er....paw before pushing it open. This was going to take some getting used to. He let out a weak yelp as the much brighter light of the main facility stuck his eyes. No sooner had he covered his sensitive organs of vision, he felt something between his legs. Startled he jumped and looked down. What he saw was his own tail tucked between his legs.

"When the hell did that happen?" he mumbled to himself, in a manner no one would have been able to understand anyway.

He closed his eyes momentarily and shook his head, as if shaking his own thoughts away. He knew he would have time to examine himself more closely, for now, he really needed to know where he was, and how much time had passed since.....that day. He shook his head again and then began scanning his surroundings.

He had just stepped into a circular shaped room, everything white and featureless, aside from the many, many doors that followed the curve of the room. A bit surprised at the emptiness everywhere, he decided to see what was behind a few of the other doors. Walking over to the door immediately to his right, he pulled it open and felt his stomach turn into knots as his eyes met the blank stare of another anthromorphic creature like himself, floating gently within the confines of it's capsule.

The expressionless tone on the creatures face never changed as he stood there staring. He was both awed and horrified when he realized that there were probably capsules like these behind every door! But why? Were there really so many people who were willing to sign their lives away? These, he knew, were not just people off the streets either. The company did a complete background check, genetic testing, and immunization procedures, so each had to have a decent source of income before being allowed to join the project. Allen waved his paw in front of the floating anthro, not really expecting a response before turning around and moving to the next room.

Sure enough, the next room also contained a creature, this one covered in grey fur.

"Werewolf." He whispered to himself again, this time in a manner someone listening closely might have been able to understand.

Yes, that's what they were he mused, as he moved from room to room examining the creatures within. Not the classical type of course, this was no magical curse or virus. This was genetic engendering at it's finest. There was just one thing that kept bothering him though...... Where were all the scientists?

He thought back to the day he signed the waver and they submitted him for the procedure, there were people everywhere. Scientists, engineers, doctors, surgeons, everyone you'd expect to run such a facility.

As he stared blankly at the room, lost in thought, another question bubbled into his mind..... How could he get out of here? Allen had to force back the surging emotion of panic and forced himself to think about the situation from a logical standpoint. There obviously had to be an entrance and/or exit, he just had to be clever enough to find it.

His first thought was to check each and every room, but not wanting to have to stare at all the floating bodies blankly staring back at him, he decided it wold be best if he began his search from the center of the circular room. As he cautiously approached the middle of the room, the texture of the floor changed causing the claws on his padded feet to clack with each step.

The noise drew his eyes to his feet, then up to his lower body. He wondered how badly the transformation would have hurt, had he not been unconscious for the entire ordeal. The pain would probably been unbearable, looking at his elongated lupine legs. They now only bared the slightest resemblance to the human legs they once were.

As he stepped even closer the center of the room, the floor reacted to his presence, a cloaked spiral staircase appeared for a few seconds and then faded back to invisibility. Allen wasn't sure what to make of the display, was this place supposed to be a secret? And since when were there cloaking fields? He only knew what it was from reading science fiction novels and TV shows. Again, the wonderment of how much time had passed poured into his mind again.

With arms outstretched, feeling for the invisible railing of the staircase. He made a beeline to where he remembered seeing the first steps and was relieved to just barely be able to see the shape of the steps through the efficient camouflage. He walked slowly, cautiously, and with an amount of grace that made him smile. Allan was beginning to enjoy his new form.

As he stepped off the last step, the floor reacted to him again and dropped the cloaking field from around the staircase again. Allen sighed when he realized that the complex must be entirely sustained by automated systems. It was the only logical conclusion he was able to come up with anyway.

The door, which he hoped would serve as an exit, was sitting in the wall just about 15 feet away. The realization that everything could be automated called up images from survival, science fiction movies were the building slowly killed off the people within. Realizing he was just being paranoid, but not wanting to take any chances anyway, he slowly stepped towards the door, glancing around the room every time he put weight on the pads of his feet.

A strong burning sensation built itself up within Allen's chest as he found this paranoid stroll to be something like torture to himself. But he was only a few feet away now, and wasn't about to get himself mutilated by defense systems just because he knew there really were no killing security systems.

Five more steps, then four, three, then he heard a faint click and distant mechanical rumbling from behind him. A moment of bemuse passed as his ears, which he figured must also resemble that of a wolf, twitched and rotated to the sound of the disturbance. The mechanical noises persisted somewhere behind him and his paranoia got the better of him. He spun around aggressively but, still not used to his new limbs, lost his balance and landed face down on the floor.

In an almost comical manner Allen crawled back to where he knew the stairs were and focused his improved hearing on the sounds. Just as suddenly had they started, the mechanical whirring came to an end, followed by a scratchy plop.

Someone else had awoken! A lupine grin spread across his face as he realized how stupid he must have looked. But he knew that he was also grinning because the thought of finally getting to see another living being in this ghostly place filled him with warmth. It took him a moment to find the first step again, but once he had he quickly scrambled back down to the large circular room.

"Hello!" He shouted hoping the other would hear him.

He didn't hear a reply.

"Hello!" He shouted again, a bit louder, and listened carefully, straining his hearing.

"Is someone out there?" Came a quiet and muffled voice. Or at least that's what he thought the voice said, really it was nothing more than garbled gibberish.

Allen jogged in the direction he hoped the voice had come from.

"My name is Allen!" He announced in a loud, but not shouting voice, "What room are you in?"

"This one!" Shouted the voice, or at least that's what Allen figured it said. The voice was still to garbled to tell even weather or not the it's owner was male or female.

The voice was considerably louder now, in fact it sounded like it was behind.....this door. Allen reached for the handle and gently pushed it open in case the anthro's body was in the way. He peaked his face in was greeted by a warm toothy smile from the dark colored, soaking wet, lupine sitting on the floor.

"Al-len?" The dark furred creature asked, slowly, trying to speak as clearly as possible.

Allen nodded in reply, smiling an even bigger grin than he already displayed. It was soooo nice to hear another's voice speaking to him.

"I'm Jack." The sitting lupine replied in a much clearer and lest constrained tone. He must have finally gotten used to speaking through his muzzle. Allen knew it was a bit tricky, but really not much different than speaking with a human mouth.

"Well let me help you up Jack." Allen squatted down and leaned forward, wrapping his arm around Allen's upper torso below his armpits. As he did this his eyes caught sight of the sheath between Jack's legs.

Allen felt himself blush and he turned away uncomfortably, not realizing Jack couldn't see his skin change to a bright shade of red through the fur covering it.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked looking somewhat nervous.

"Oh...." Allen stammered nervously as he finished helping Jack to his feet, "I just realized that we are naked. I hadn't realized it before."

Jack looked down at his wet self, then over to Allen's, examining him from head to paw, stopping his scan momentarily to consider his genitals. Allen felt himself blush again when he realized what Jack was doing.

Jack finally brock his stare, and the silence. "Fascinating." He commented looking into Allen's bright green eyes. Making Allen feel even more uncomfortable since he was still helping support Jack. "It really doesn't feel like it does it?" He mused.

Allen sensed from the vague fluctuation in Jacks odor that he was becoming aroused. When Jack himself realized this, and understood that Allen knew it too, he pulled away. Jack hadn't meant to be turned on, he just hadn't had contact with another person in such a long time that his body wasn't sure how to react to it. He nearly fell over again as he pulled himself from Allen's support, but despite his uncomfortable feelings Allen jumped quickly and caught Jack again.

Allen shut his eyes, "It's alright," he assured his friend, well he assumed they were friends now. "It'll probably pass."

Jack nodded affirmatively, now determined to keep his emotions under control.

Still unsure of what to make of the information he was receiving from his improved senses, he could have sworn that he picked up a worried sensation wafting from Allen. Not wanting to deal with the slight attraction he had just previously felt towards the other male, he decided a subject change was in order.

"So, where are we?" Relieved to see Allen's face change from what he assumed was worry to one of thoughtfulness. This place certainly didn't look like the multi-leveled medical facility he lost consciousness in.....however long ago it took for all the physical changes to take effect. "And how long have wee been here?" He added.

"I don't know." he confessed. "I looked around a bit, but it seems that this place is entirely automated."

The corners of Jack's eyes dropped slightly in disappointment. Noticing this, Allen decided he should throw some more information his way.

"I do know that there are lots of us here though, this room is one of many. If you're feeling up to walking I'll show you."

Jack nodded in reply.

Allen proceeded to show his new friend around the part of the facility he was familiar with. Opening several of the doors and examining their contents. Every room contained a single anthromorphic lupine each in a slightly different phase of transformation from human. At a crude guess, he estimated that there were about 150 different rooms. Once Jack had seen enough of the subject's room Allen lead him to the hidden stairway in the middle of the circular room, explaining that it lead to a smaller empty room.

"That's kind of weird!" Allen exclaimed as the stairs re-cloaked themselves. "It's almost like this is supposed to be hidden."

Allen twitched his ears and looked at him sideways.

"I mean, of course it's hidden, but I meant that it's supposed to be hidden from someone other than us."

"Uh, huh," Allen mused.

Jack scratched his head, wagging his tail when he realized how good that felt, thinking of how to better explain what he was thinking.

"Ok, we know that this room obviously goes nowhere." He pointed around the room with both hands, "so we're supposed to find the stairs. But you said that there was another empty room up there..."

Allen followed Jack up the invisible stairs, chuckling as he tripped a few times before figuring out how to detect their presence. Once in the smaller, barren upper room jack quickly walked to the door. Allen blushed secretly at how foolish he felt for his previous paranoia.

"Come over here." Motioned Jack.

Allen obliged. He stood next to Jack and mimicked the way he was facing.

"So what am I looking for?" He asked, though he thought he already had a good guess. He didn't want to steal any of his friend's thunder, so he played along.

"Nothing." Jack said simply.

"I'm supposed to see nothing." Allen's face curled at the lips, but he did his best to keep his voice flat.

"Yes. That way if someone who is not supposed to know of the contents of the lower lever opens this door," he patted the door with his paw, "he won't see anything. This will just be an empty room keeping the lower level a secret."

"So Sherlock," Allen joked with a grin, "what sort of big bad security system do you suppose awaits us on the other side of this door?"

Jack looked taken aback. The thought of a security system had somehow failed to cross his mind. He gave it a long moment of careful consideration, leaving Allen standing there with nothing better to do than stare at him as he waited for a response. He scratched his head again, once again pleased by the delightful sensation it gave him. Allen felt a warm feeling bubble from his stomach and into his chest, and he began wondering why it was beginning to feel warm.

Allen loved how expressive Jack was. From the way he expressively used both hands to convey his thoughts to the way he fidgeted with himself as he lost himself in thought. Allen was never one to use many gestures in conversation, in fact you could tie his hands behind his back and he probably wouldn't even notice. After studying his friends movements though, he figured it was something he would try to cultivate in himself. If anything it might make him a bit more interesting.....and that was important since his monotonous nature was one of the key reasons he volunteered for this genetic procedure.

Jack snapped his finger, or at least he would have if he still had them. Instead their was a dull swishing sound as the pads on his modified digits rubbed against each other. Allen snapped out of his ogling and realized Jack was looking remorsefully at his paws.

"I'm really going to miss that." He said, making the snapping motion with his digits but only getting that dull swish again. "I guess there's going to be a lot to get used to."

Allen nodded.

"So about security!" Jack was quickly back to his positive disposition. "I would guess that there would be nothing more than passive surveillance outside this door and in most of the facility. If they wanted to keep this area hidden they wouldn't want to give it away by placing sentry turrets around it or anything."

Allen nodded again, captivated by the well though out breakdown he'd just heard. He couldn't help but notice that sparkle in Jacks eyes as he passionately explained his thoughts. Suddenly it was feeling warm in the room again and a slight tingle manifest itself between his legs.

He nearly yelped when he realized what was happening. He quickly glanced down to make sure his member was still sheathed, and after breathing a quiet sigh of relief looked back at Jack. Jack was quiet, just staring at his friend with the most puzzled expression on his face.

There was a silence as Allen blushed again, thankful his fur covered it up.

"Are you alright," Jack asked sounding increasing concerned, "your ears are turning red."

"What!" This time he did yelp and quickly shot his paw to his ear. He felt carefully with the sensitive pads on his digits and realized that the fur near the tips of his ears was probably just barely thin enough to see his skin through. And if the fur on his ears was a white-grey color as he suspected, then the red from his blushing would definitely be noticeable.

"Yeah, I'm alright Jack, I just bit my tongue."

Jack knew he was lying though. Somehow he could smell the results of Allen's emotions, and right now he smelled....uncomfortable maybe.....no, embarrassed, he was embarrassed. But what was he was embarrassed about? He hadn't noticed anything strange just before, then again he was in mid thought, so he really wasn't paying attention to what his nose was telling him.

His thoughts drifted back to the look Allen had given him when he noticed they were naked, this looked very much like that look. He glanced down at himself to make sure he wasn't aroused without his knowledge, feeling a surge of alarm at the though, he didn't want to scare Allen out of their short friendship because he couldn't control himself. To his relief though he wasn't horny, or even partially aroused.

For a moment he wondered what his cock looked like, realizing he hadn't actually seen his own member since acquiring this new body. Would it be like a dog's, or more like a human's. He intended on finding out later in a more private setting.

"Well, shall we find out?" Allen asked putting his hand on the door.

Jack, relieved for the change in subject, smiled again and gave an eager nod.

"No time better than the present!" He added with a chuckle.
