#2 of Chances

The bell rang making Fyren's ear drop, as everyone started to pack up to go to their second period, the husky looks over at the tiger. "So I guess I will see you later", the tiger grinned and offered a handshake which Fyren happily accepted. "Heh yeah, I will see you later", with that they left their first period and walked through the crowded hallways towards their next class. As Fyren follows the numbers on each door of the hallway, he feels a slight pressure on his shoulder making him turn around. The sight of the gorgeous wolf in front of him made him wag his tail unconsciously, which the wolf noticed, "Ha ha, happy to see me?". Fyren nodded as he looked up at the wolf, which made the wolf hesitate 'He is dangerously cute...' the wolf pointed at his watch on his wrist signaling that they're going to be late for their second period.

Looking down at his schedule Fyren reads out loud, "Weightlifting...?"

The wolf laughed as he imagined the smaller canine lifting weights. "Haha, really? Well that's the class I am going to too; it's over at the field house next to the track field."

The two walked out of the front building towards the sports field. Along the way, Fyren noticed a few larger figures walking the same way 'They must also be taking this class'. "We have to change first... you can't lift if you don't have shorts on."

"But I don't have any shorts to change into..."

The wolf smiled and patted the dogs back. "Haha no worries I have an extra I can lend you."

Walking into the locker room, all eyes turned towards Fyren making the dog blush slightly. Chase walked into the room first followed by Fyren who followed closely behind. As he followed the black wolf, his ears picks up some of the conversation between the guys. "Hey, think that's the new kid" said one bigger canine to a rather muscular fox.

Reaching towards a unoccupied locker, Fyren gets ready to change into Chase's gym shorts. As he pulled his jeans down past his knees, he heard a sharp whistle followed by laughter. Ears burning with embarrassment, he quickly pulled the borrowed gym shorts on and quickly ran to his wolf friend. With only one growl, Chase silenced the locker room. "Let's go to the weight room", Fyren nodded and quickly followed the large wolf. As they walked into the weight room, Fyren looked around at the various exercise equipment. "They somehow look like torture devices..." Chase chuckled as he pats Fyren at the back, "It's not that bad, we can start you with light weights first".

As the room starts to fill up with more people, the coach walks in. "Ok guys let's get ready! Incline, work about seventy percent of your max, three reps, let's go!" The couch looks over to Fyren. The coach, walking over to Fyren looks over the husky for a minute before talking.

"You new?" the husky nodded. "You don't look like you can do much... You can start with some light weights" the husky mentally rolled his eyes at that. "Hey Chase! Since you not doing anything how about you work with him today?" the wolf nodded and dragged the husky off to the benches.

"Hehe let's see how much you can lift first"

As they approached the bench with a bar on the rack, the wolf laid the husky down on his back against the covered bench. "So just lift and we will work our way up until you hit your max" The husky nodded and did one rep easily.

"Ok good, how about we add 10 pounds on each side" The husky nodded again and did one rep. The husky looks up at the wolf above his head, his ears folded back as he feels the wolf's eyes on his body. 'Now that I think of it, I should pretend I couldn't lift too high, wouldn't want too much attention'. After a few more weights added, Fyren immediately dropped the bar onto his chest making the wolf lift up the pole for him. "Hrmm... So you can lift 85 pounds at max. Not too bad, though I don't get how you can throw me and still only lift 85 pounds". Remembering the incident from this morning the husky blushed slightly "I took martial arts..." the wolf seems to buy it so the husky lets out a sigh of relief.

"Well Fyren, you can lift with Mike, he lifts just a little more then you but it's not too much of a difference" the couch said as he jolted down something onto his clip board. Looking over to where the coach is pointing at, he notices a skinnier looking feline. As Chase walks off somewhere, Fyren walks towards the feline, looking at the cat he notices that the cats a tabby. "Hey..." The cat looks over at the husky and grins, "Well it's good to know I am not the weakest one around here anymore". The husky blushed as everyone started to do their stuff; the wolf gave a glare towards the cat and growled a little "Be nice". The cat immediately fell silent.

Weight lifting went by quickly, the room filled up with the smell of sweat by the end of the class. At the sound of the coach's whistle everyone moved out to get changed. In the locker room, everyone pulled off their sweat soaked clothes and changed into dry clean ones, the smell of deodorant filled the air as everyone sprayed themselves off. "So how you like weight lifting?" Chase walked over to Fyren with his shirt off, showing off his well-developed body. Fyren blushed as he looks at the wolf, pulling his jeans back up he hands Chase his gym shorts back "Thanks for letting me use this".

"No problem dude, I always bring an extra to school so you can just ask me"

Fyren said thanks to the wolf again as the bell rang just after. Chase and Fyren walked back to the front building in silence, not knowing what to talk about. 'I should really try to strike up a conversation...' Fyren opened his mouth to say something but stopped still not knowing what to say. The wolf looked beside him noticing the husky wanting to say something but fell silent instead. "Fie you ok?"

The husky gave a confused look towards the husky then looks around, seeing no one else he pointed to himself "Fie?"

Chase chuckled as he ruffled the husky's hair "Hehe yes, that's you".

The two separated when they reached the front building. As Fyren walked down the hall full of people, he couldn't help but smile and giggle at what Chase called him 'Fie... like pie, hehe I never had a nickname before'. As the husky was absorbed into his thoughts he bumped into someone. Feeling something wrong, Fyren took a step back, dodging a slash across his torso from a knife. The husky growled as he noticed that the people around him froze as if time stopped moving forward. Looking forward he sees a dog from what he could tell. The dog dressed in black clothing wielded a nasty looking blade on his right hand. The blade reflected the light and from what Fyren could see as a magic rune on the side glowing bright red.

"Ah... That's a powerful item you have there. An ignis rune?"

The dog growled in reply and dashed forward, the blade in his hand consumed in flames as he draws near the husky. Reacting quickly the husky turned head and ran quickly out to the nearest exit, 'the barrier around the school seems to stop time, but damage can still be caused to the people inside, time stopped or not. Have to move away.'

Running out of the building, Fyren turned left towards a secluded area behind the building. Knowing there shouldn't be people around, the husky turned to fight. The canine caught up quickly and pointed his blade at Fyren, sending a ball of fire towards the husky. Quickly dodging the blast, Fyren feels the heat as the ball of fire passed his head and explodes on a tree behind him, quickly reducing it to ashes. "So why are you here? Did the elders finally find an excuse to kill me?"

"Fyren Easter" the dark dog replied "You are deemed a traitor against the Guild; you are ordered the immediate surrender of your life".

Fyren sighed as he looks at the dog, "Why can't they just leave me alone?"

The dog barked and charged towards Fyren, preparing a killing blow. "Jeez, making mountains out of molehills..."

Swinging the blade at the husky, the blade passed though the husky's body, making the dog let out a confused yelp. Fyren looks amused and unfazed as the blade passed right though him, leaving no wounds "By the time I am finished with you... You will not be able to trust your own mind". The dog growled and swung again, only this time he felt his blow connect, or he think he did. Fyren's body seem to shatter like glass as the blade passed through, the dog stared in shock as he watched the pieces shatter. As he looked into the pieces, images start to swarm into his head, all at once he sees his greatest fears, his past sins, torture, and demons that seem to growl and shriek right next to his ears. Inside his mind the dog ran in a unending hallway of darkness, eyes on the walls visible to the dog; looking at him as if laughing at the now nearly broken dog as he ran desperately for some sort of peace. Seeing a light at the end of the hallway, the dog laughed, the laugh cracked and broken. As he passed into the light he closes his eyes and prepares himself for salvation. As his opens his eyes he finds himself bound on a table, the demons; scales all of a dark color smiled evilly beside him. The dog screamed as he felt a demon pry off his finger nails, "Stop! Stop this please! Just kill me already!"

Outside the dog's mind, the husky smirked as he watches the dog on the ground. The smell of the dog's urine reached Fyren's nose making the husky smile cruelly. Crouching down he sees the dog tremble, mumbling the words 'kill me, kill me' repeatedly, already in tears the dog claws at his head not able to stop the things that's happening in his head, all these things brings pleasure to the husky as he watched making him shiver. "Poor soul..." Fyren reached for the blade the dog had before and quickly and casually plunged the blade into the dog's heart, putting the dog out of his misery.

Standing up, Fyren looks towards the school. Noticing the birds flying around the building, he knows that the barrier is dispeled. "Good thing I left... Never a good thing to expose a dead body in front of people"

"Now the body..." Fyren looks at the blade he held and then pointed it towards the corpse. Five minutes later the body and the area around it is burned to ash. Holding up the blade, the husky studies the rune closely. Dragging his claw hard against the odd glowing rune, the blade cracked and the rune stopped glowing. "Just a enchantment on the blade... easy to dispel". Throwing the blade on top of the pile of ashes he walks away, hearing the bell ring the husky perks his ears "Crap class is about to start!"

The husky ran towards the building leaving the pile of ash and the broken blade behind.
