The Why of Werewolves

Sometimes you just need to shove aside the pretensions, and try and get to the root of why you want something.

This was my attempt.

No, not how they treat you--not even what they think of you...

Just, to not understand, that joy! How to show them?

How your pants tent like an erection, tail bursting free,

As your frame doubles, triples in size... Maybe... maybe with a bite?

Thick, warm cozy fur! No more a naked worm, no need to hide your skin!

Muscles rippling, no matter your gender!

Fantastic, engine of flesh, ripping, snorting; hungry!

Not that it was foreign--no!

We always could have embraced this!

We were free!

Now, this cavalcade of excuse-makers and teatotalers

They want to call this farce facade freedom?!

They say that slaughter is the mark of a lower creature--

Or yet worse, a demon--

How then are THEY--WE any better?!

Throw down your arms, throw away your clothes!

Become a WOLF tonight! Know family,

Know FREEDOM!

Abandon all the rest--

All the prattling politics, world wars,

Inundation with toxins,

Coy marketing schemes--

Charlatans and liars, hollow vanity

Binding us in chains--

A deep breath, skin sloughing off.

Alleviating the poisons in one long stooping shit.

Ahhhhhhhhhh.

Again... I'm alive. Alive!

Useless things left behind, all things made anew once more.

I tear asunder the curtains:

It is morning once again.

I revel in my wild dalliance--

Man's best friend.

_Another one_. _Here, in the dorm._ It was Anna--I think. She was no longer recognizably human, beyond her curves, and the red bra that was hanging half-off her breast, leaving the other exposed--where a young wolf creature suckled. Was that her...
