Human Experimentation: Redux: First Impressions Suck

We return to the room where Isaac, John, Greg, Amy, and the new group member Haiden were. Just waking up Haiden is new and even more unknowing than that of Isaac or the Crew.

PS: Word to the wise... If you don't like the way I portray death, you shouldn't be reading this. Please leave now if any graphic violence involving blood and grey matter offends you. If it turns you on... Please... never say ANYTHING TO ME.

They all looked at Haiden, the bunny, whom we thought was Chloe up until she woke up. "So you're name is Haiden." John asked, eyeing the voluptuous bunny.

Haiden looked at him with wide eyes because of his gaze, "Y-yeah... Who are you guys?"

Isaac chose this moment to intervene before John could start hitting on her, "We're a group of friends who ended up as mutated animals in less than a day... I think." Isaac smiled and held out his had so that she could get up, "I am Isaac, this other wolf who's very stupid is John."

He lifted his arms and pointed toward Greg and Amy, "The hyena is Greg, and the... Ocelot....? Yeah, Ocelot! Is Amy." He shifted his weight while Haiden took his hand, "And now we're in here not knowing what the fuck is going on."

Haiden looked at him with wide eyes. "So you guys are friends?" she then looked at her new footpaws, "I don't know what happened to my friends. I had two of them with me... One's named Fiad and the other is Skaroth. Weird names but they're really nice people."

Isaac nodded looking around wondering what was going to happen to them all. In his mind he realized that there were eight people that he had to think about as they did whatever they were meant to.

Chloe had been in a lot of stuff since she woke up. She had been taken in by two guys named Fiad and Skaroth and was currently walking through halls with her hands drenched in sweat. Pieces of dirt were underneath her claws in her new more furry hands. She looked at the one on her shoulder and saw a glint of sadness in his eyes.

She looked down at the new rifle she had gotten and wondered how it got to this.

"Get her up! I don't care who she is but she's with us on this." A snarl came out in the darkness of Chloe's view.

A set of hands that felt furry touched her shoulders and next came a violent shake. Her eyes opened in dramatic fashion and she saw a dog looking creature. "You ok?" It asked gruffly, "Say something!"

Chloe opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. The creature saw this and yelled out toward another creature standing in what seemed like a doorway. "It's a Mute!"

"Whatever, just get her on her feet!" It snarled back. "We have to get moving now! We were about to ditch her, but now it seems like she's an asset so get her off her ass and move!" The creature didn't wait and took off through the door.

"Ok mute, My names Skaroth and that was Fiad. We're getting out of here. Do you want to get out of here too?"

Chloe nodded and Skaroth smiled, "Good now flex your hands and show me what claws you got. You're a Tiger by the look of it so you should have them."

Chloe did what Skaroth said and flexed her hands. Two sets of vicious looking claws came out, one on each hand. She smiled and her tail went crazy, happy that she actually managed to accomplish her task.

Skaroth saw it and grinned, "No time to be happy now. We got to go."

Chloe nodded and went to her feet, following Skaroth as he left through the door that Fiad went through.

They were running through corridor upon corridor, each time finding more corridors, none of which containing anything but lights and further corridors.

"Fiad, are we going anywhere?" Skaroth asked out, "Because right now we seem... Lost?"

Fiad whipped around and smacked Skaroth across the face, and Chloe gasped and help up her hands to try and tell Fiad to calm down.

"I can get rid of you easily mute, he's just questioning me." Fiad snarled.

Out of the corner of Chloe's eye she could see that Fiad was actually as scared as both her and Skaroth, and without thinking she hugged Fiad.

Fiad went rigid and stiff, not knowing what to do. Skaroth saw this and said as kindly as he could, "No need to freak out Fiad. Even mute there can see that... We're just trying to get out of here and live."

Fiad remained rigid but then relaxed as Skaroth's words got to him.

"There they are! Get them; Delta's are supposed to die here. Make sure that they DIE." A few armored soldiers were down the corridor pointing at the three. They leveled their rifles out and fired.

"Run!" Skaroth cried as the bullets whizzed by. Fiad grabbed Chloe and pulled her into a side corridor, and Skaroth went into the opposite corridor. The soldiers broke off into two groups and followed the three.

The heavy boots of the armored soldiers rang out clearly in the hallway, their heavy footsteps echoing louder as they got nearer. Fiad pulled Chloe into a side corridor in the side corridor they were in. He made a "Shh" movement with his fingers and told her to stay.

Fiad stood exactly next to the incoming corridor and waited momentarily, like an animal stalking prey. As if on cue a soldier stepped into his grabbing distance, and he reached and flung him toward a wall. The soldier's rifle fell away from him and near Chloe. Fiad continued his assault, beating on the armored man, but to no avail. Fiad's punches were doing nothing more than staggering the soldier, so he took his teeth and bit on a portion of the man's exposed neck. His raccoon teeth bit into the flesh like razorblades through cardboard. He pulled and tore the flesh from the man's neck, leaving a hole, but not tearing a single vein.

The man screamed out in pain and his teammate rushed over to the corridor. He saw what was happening to his fellow man and leveled his rifle out aiming at Fiad's exposed back. He pulled on the trigger and a bullet fired.

The bullet fired but just milliseconds before Chloe had fired off a round from the rifle that was dropped by the soldier in Fiad's grasp, the bullet hit the other soldier's gun and his aim was immediately jostled. The bullet from the soldier's gun went out the barrel at a different angle, hitting Fiad in the right leg instead of his spine.

Chloe was scared and her finger went nuts over the gun's trigger. Bullets leapt through the air, all of them hitting the soldier and making holes in the armor. The clip was emptied and Chloe flipped the gun, using it like a bat. She hit the other soldiers head as hard as she could and there was a sickening crunch in the room.

The soldier Fiad had attacked was bleeding out, mumbling, "I don't want to die... I don't want to die..." over and over again. Fiad had wished to hurt the soldier but not this badly, so he bent down, grabbed the other soldier's gun, and fired into the man's head. His brains coated the insides of the helmet and his whole body went limp, hitting the ground.

Before Chloe could gaze at the dead bodies, Fiad grabbed her and pulled her away. "Come on. We need to find Skaroth. He's probably waiting for us."

Chloe nodded and offered her shoulder to Fiad, who gratefully took it and limped away with Chloe, who quickly bent down and took the gun that Fiad used.

Skaroth met them in the hallway they were walking down originally, though his fur was a blood red around his Jaws and hands. Chloe nodded knowing what the soldiers had said, "Deltas are supposed to die here!" The words echoed in her head, pounding at the walls of her skull. She had thoughts running around in her head however, "I'm now a Delta... Does that mean I was a failure or something more sinister?"

She shook off the thoughts as she got to Skaroth who looked at the two with sad eyes, "I think... I'm a monster. Look at this," he held up his arms showing the blood and a few gunshots, "I can't feel these at all. The bullets never hurt me, but I was enjoying the blood of these guys as I killed them."

He looked at Fiad, "Am I still human Fiad? Or am I a mutant freak?"

Fiad stared right back and replied in an almost whisper, "I don't know... We got to keep moving though so let's keep going down this hall. We might even find a way out seeing as the soldiers came through here."

Skaroth looked at the ground, "Y-y-yeah... Maybe."

With that they set off down the hall.

They came to the end of the hallway which was rather quite long and found five doors. All of them looked white and plain and had no writing on them.

"Guys, what do you want to pick?" This is probably life or death seeing as we've face four men armored heavily with guns." He chuckled a bit and coughed as his leg continued to slowly bleed out.

Chloe felt the need to pick the third door so she motioned towards it, catching Skaroth's eye.

"You sure mute? He looked at her with wide eyes, and she returned them, pleading that they open that door, "Ok then. You ok with this Fiad?"

Fiad just shrugged, "I'm slowly dying so I don't care. If mute thinks so... I guess we can."

Chloe's eyes started sparkling and she motions for Skaroth to take Fiad momentarily. Skaroth did and chloe held the gun at the ready as she started for the doorknob.
