Chapter Nine.

Stowaway

When the morning came Evin awoke feeling great, and he could see that Rika and Dawn were still in their extremely advertising position. All attempts in just getting there seemed impossible for them, because only the richest people seemed to be able to afford a ride, and they were anything but rich. Evin scouted and looked for any way they could get on, but the security guards were all over the place to keep anyone who might hitch a ride without permission off the ship.

Evin took the others aside and told them to go back to the pokemon center and wait for him there, this also included Dawn taking all his pokemon including Rika with her, but he did keep Spazz with him without his pokeball for what he had planned. He was determined to at least have a look at the island before moving on, and wasn't going to take no for an answer. The others weren't sure about what he had in mind, but he told them it would be fine and that he would meet them in a few hours.

Once they were gone, Evin told Spazz the plan, and once he was done explaining they both went to another dock and slipped off into the cold seawater below. Evin then held on to Spazz as they then went under water and found the bottom of the boat that was about to leave for the island and emerged on the other side well out of sight of anyone.

Evin then had Spazz use ice beam on the side of the boat to make a place for them to sit on, but the ice was so slippery that Evin had to use his knife as an ice pick to hang on. It took Evin a few minutes to get into position along with Spazz, and luckily for them just as they got into place, the engine on the boat started up and they heard the last call being given. Then after a few more minutes the boat began moving.

The boat moved so fast that it was a lot of work just to stay in one spot where he and Spazz hung on, and Evin constantly worried that the ice might come off the ship before they got there. But before long his worries were silenced, and they could now see the small island ahead.

Once the ship docked at the island, they slipped back into the water and snuck around to the far side, where they started climbing up the rocky wall face. Evin shivered a bit as he walked around dripping wet while he and Spazz took in the view as other people were led around on tours.

Eventually Evin started looking for the mechanism that would open the secret door he was looking for, and after a small while of looking, he found it. After pushing the brick in, he heard the gateway open, and it was fortunate that there were no people there when it did, for right after activating the button, a slab of stone noisily grinded up into the wall. Evin and Spazz then cautiously advanced into the tunnel and started walking in dark silence, where the only sound was the sound of Evin's wet shoes.

Evin could feel something that was extremely playful and intelligent ahead of them with his mind, but also could feel the weight of age within its consciousness. This told him his theories of Victini being here were right, and Victini now sensed him as well and hid itself in fear of being found. Evin had formed a plan to win over Victini's trust before he had left the city, and pulled out a plastic bag of a few poffins Dawn had made for her pokemon, that she had given to him when they packed that morning after he had asked for some.

When he and Spazz reached the end of the tunnel that was far under ground, Evin fended off a psychic probe, the probe was powerful, but then so was he, and he probed back a little. He could defiantly tell it was the pokemon he was looking for, because of how hard the probe had been to block, and he could also sense an over whelming amount curiosity coming from the invisible pokemon. He then called out while holding a poffin in the air, and stated that he meant it no harm and that he was a friend.

It took some time for his patients to pay off, but then as Evin had once seen in the movie, the poffin floated into the air out of his hand and they heard Victini's voice for the first time as the poffin was devoured into nothing in front of them. Communicating with his telepathy and voice Evin asked it why it stayed down here in such a place for so many years.

The room was like a playpen, but he couldn't fathom why an immortal pokemon would ever stay in such a place forever. Then after he asked his question he felt the psychic probe enter him again, but this time he let it, and it showed him its last human friend who had asked it to stay there. And this was so that its power could never be used for evil again, and then it showed him a brief glimpse of the destruction it had once caused, which was immense.

Evin sent his own probe in response and showed it all his experiences he had had since being brought to this world, minus the sexual activity. Then expressed his desire to one day send a message to his parents and relieve their worry of him. He also went on to say that it could help the world tremendously if it joined his quest, and that he needed Victini's help to accomplish these things.

Victini became visible and Evin finally saw its curious face looking him over, and could feel its concern for leaving its safe haven behind, though he also detected a hint of wanting to rejoin the world, that it had long ago left behind. After what seemed like an hour, which was only about fifteen minutes Victini finally happily agreed after a few more poffins. Evin was astounded when he got his first close look at it after never knowing if legendaries could have genders. Because it turned out Victini was in fact female, and she now happily hugged his face as she joyfully agreed to join his cause.

He plucked her off his face with both hands she happily smiled as he said, "Welcome to the team." Then released her and held a luxury ball in front of her that he had purchased just for this specific purpose that day. When Victini touched her head to the ball, she was sucked in, and the ball moved for a few seconds before making the all clear sound

Evin picked up the ball, feeling like he was now much closer to his goals, and let Victini back out. After he did this Victini shivered a little before she sat on his head and happily said her name a few times as if saying she was ready to go. Then they started the long trek up the tunnel and after a while made it to the surface.

Victini gave a happy cry as she saw the surface for the first time in so many years, and flew around with glee. Though her celebration was short lived, because right then out of nowhere, she was attacked by a hydreigon with a blast of dragon breath. Evin heard Victinin's cry as she plummeted to the ground and he just barely managed the catch her in time before she hit the wall of the monument at ground level.

The attack was so unexpected and sudden, Evin had failed to sense the other people or pokemon in the area, but now he could feel their dark minds clearly, and could sense their single minded intent to take powerful pokemon for their own. Evin couldn't help thinking of how crappy the timing for all of this was just then, as he jumped over anther blast that very second.

Using his psychic abilities he threw the big dragon pokemon into the statue that was the island's main attraction, then tried to cripple one of its wings with crushing psychic power, but this failed as another blast of dragon's breath came from behind as a druddigon took a shot at him and burned his right arm. With Evin's concentration disrupted, the hydreigon he had been focused on was freed, and then it unleashed a breath of flamethrower at him.

Evin dodged this one while still holding a confused Victini in his left arm and then called for Spazz to take the druddigon out, so that he could take out the trainers and other dragon. Evin located the trainers, which he recognized as Team plasma, and used his psychic ability to toss them in the water below the island.

Just as he did this though, the hydreigon got in front of him and was about to loss a flamethrower when Victini jumped up and used flame burst while the hydreigon still had its mouth open. This blasted the dragon's ready to go flamethrower back down its own throat where both ignited.

Incapacitated from being backfired, the hydreigon fell to the ground limp, and just after that Evin charged an aura sphere in his now free hand and shot it at the druddigon to help Spazz with his fight. The aura sphere wasn't all that effective though, and the plasma members were getting out of the water to bring out more of their pokemon. But right before they threw their balls, the police showed up. The plasma members stopped what they were doing and called back their dragon pokemon and quickly made their escape into the water before the police could catch them.

The police almost had them though as they chased them by boat, but before they could be caught, the members made it to one of their flying ships and shot at the police as they left. But they also made sure to shoot at Evin too before they left and as he jumped backwards to avoid being shot, he accidentally fell and rolled back into the secret tunnel. Being that Evin couldn't find his balance, he ended up rolling down the tunnel for quite a few yards before he could right himself as he crashed almost halfway down the steps.

Victini joined him just as he began healing his burned arm and the other hurts he had from rolling and other stuff, and just as he finished the police came in and asked him about what just happened. They were astonished to see Victini on his shoulder, but kept their questions brief as he explained how he got to the island in the first place.

The officers weren't too happy to hear the exact way he hitched a ride, but shrugged and said, "Well either way, it was a good thing you were here to stop Team Plasma, so we will forgive your free ride, but we better not catch you doing this regularly. Anyway, you may take the ship back to shore without worry of getting in trouble this time."

Evin was glad he didn't have to get back into the water again as he joined Spazz at the tunnel entrance after such an event. Once the tunnel was resealed, Evin and his pokemon, were escorted to the ship. Soon they were on their way back to the main land, while Victini happily explored the ship, as she was excited at seeing so many people.

When they landed at the dock, Evin got off the boat with some glares from the security guards that he promptly disregarded. Spazz on the other hand glared back at them and wanted to go at them, but Evin just called for him to keep up, and they soon made it back to the pokemon center. Once there, they quickly found Dawn and the others waiting in the lobby, while Dawn talked to Professor Juniper on the PC.

Evin said hi to the professor with Victini still on his shoulder, and Juniper about freaked out when she saw Victini come into view. That was the one pokemon that had always been the Professor's wildest fantasy to be able study. After regaining control of herself, she stated how jealous she was of him right then, and went on to say that destiny did seem to have an ominous interest in him. Then she went on to say that he should be more careful, and told him that the last thing she ever wanted to be responsible for was his funeral.

The thought of this brought a new sense of reality back to Evin, and even Rika sensed how it affected him as he thought about what his limits might really be. Dawn was a bit worried as well, but refused to think of such a thing and said, "He can handle himself Professor; I have complete confidence that he will give these pokemon thieves a real wake up call when we finally cross paths."

Evin was only a bit less confident about Dawn's statement and looked away as he gripped his shoulder, where the shirt was still burned off. He was pretty sure he could control his psychic abilities without the need of Rika's barrier anymore, but he was still human, and he wasn't sure what would happen if he were incapacitated with a grievous wound.

The entire situation was looking so much bigger then he had ever planed for, and the danger only seemed to get worse with every run in, which in turn, made him feel afraid; afraid for himself and everyone with him. All he ever wanted was to send a message to his parents; such a simple thing, and it was turning into the biggest battle the world had ever seen.

His thoughts then turned to how he could end this fighting, but his only conclusions was still his original plan, to gather the legendaries to his cause. He knew arceus was the strongest of the legendaries, but he was doubtful he'd ever get the chance to go after it since it was from another region.

But Reshiram form this region was also powerful; he needed to find it next, or possibly Zekrom, the two of them together could reek more then enough havoc on the warring factions. Evin then had another thought of what he would do, or would have to do if he faced anyone from these teams who had already captured one of the legendaries.

Evin immediately asked that question to the professor, and Juniper was lost in deep thought for a while before she said, "I shiver at the thought of those monsters capturing such an entity of power, but your question is reasonable. Victini while powerful in its own way, still, isn't as powerful as the true legendaries; Victini's true power lies in powering others up and aiding them in battle.

I've been working with your blood for a while now and have discovered a few interesting things. So I will look into plans for a machine that will let you capture another trainer's pokemon for these purposes. I will discus this with the police force, pokemon center nurses, the army, gym leaders, elite four and the current champion Alder.

But we will more then likely require you to take solemn oaths to never misuse the item we bestow upon you, if we can create one that is. I will call you when a decision is made and inform you on the progress of such a machine. Until then, stay safe and try not to get into too much trouble."

With that the screen went blank; Dawn sighed and stood from the chair and said, "I see you managed to get into trouble while you were gone, was that done by Victini?" Evin shook his head and said, "I've just had my first run in with Team Plasma, and I think they might be more dangerous than Team Rocket." Dawn scowled, then she said, "Wonderful! Now we have two teams mad at us! What are we going to do if we keep making so many enemies at once?"

Evin shrugged and said, "It can't be helped, but on the bright side, my hunch was right about where to find Victini, and here she is." Dawn looked up at the small blue eyed pokemon on his head looking down at her, and Victini cheered happily at her and gave her famous victory sign.

Dawn smiled and said, "Welcome to the group." then all the other pokemon with them also happily greeted Victini, which made her happily fly around with joy. After everyone settled down, Dawn recalled all of her pokemon accept Piplup and Evin recalled all of his accept Rika and Victini. From there they went and got Evin a new shirt and restocked their supplies the best they could.

They needed to win some trainer battles on the road ahead though so they could finish restocking their supplies. So without further ado they set off for Nimbasa city. But just as they left the city they were in, the egg in Dawn's possession began to hatch. Evin let Spazz and Aqua out from their pokeballs so they could see their child being born, and within the hour Dawn had her very own little girl Oshawott.

Aqua and Spazz cheered and hugged their hatchling before letting Dawn tap her with a pokeball after saying how cute she was. After that Evin was in the middle of ideas about their next stop, and then told her the plan, which was that they would first go to The Relic Castle before going Nimbasa. This was so they could not only battle a lot of other trainers for the much needed money they needed, but what he didn't say is that it was also to check on another thing Evin remembered from the game.
