#3 of My days with Alex

Our wolf has a talk with his boss...

Hello again everyone. Next chapter is perhaps a bit early, but I wanted to write something today so I put this down on paper. This one didn't turn quite as long as I originally wanted it to, but I think it'll do. As usual, don't forget to comment, vote, fave etc. Especially comments will help you telling me what I should improve on and all that jazz. :) Have fun!

"Hey Robert, I need a word with you."

My tail flopped down and my ears folded a bit as the Doberman spoke to me. I was clutching my lunch that I had hoped to get to eat alone from any disturbances, wondering what I had done to have the boss want to see me. We usually only spoke during our weekly meetings on Fridays when we went over how whatever projects my team was working on were going along.

"Uh... Sure, Mr. Hendrickson."

I stepped into my office and my boss followed. I noticed him give my lunch a look and I was half expecting him to tell me to go eat my lunch at the shared break room, like you were supposed to. To my surprise he didn't say anything though and, feeling a little bit better about the situation, I placed my ass on my office chair and offered him the visitors chair in front of my desk.

"So... what is it that you want to talk about, sir?"

Sir... It felt weird to me to call someone by such a title. I usually preferred to just use people's names or nicknames or anything else but such formal language. Well, unless I was perhaps doing a bit of roleplay in bed with a partner, then I'd be more than happy to call my partner "Sir" if that's what he wanted. But that wasn't the case right now, which was painfully obvious.

And, perhaps, a bit unfortunate.

Oh god, that's not something that should've been going through my mind right now...

"Do you like your job here?"

I perked my ears up a bit as my boss spoke to me again. He was looking at me curiously and I gave him a quick, reassuring smile.

"Of course I do, sir. Otherwise I wouldn't have stayed here for four years."

He gave me a pondering look this time and stayed silent for a few moments, making me feel just a slight bit more uncomfortable.

I wasn't afraid of my boss or anything like that since he was alright most of the time. But, he was my boss and the one deciding if I got to stay here or not. So I couldn't help to feel a bit nervous whenever I was talking to him, no matter what we were talking about.

"Well, that's not exactly what I meant."

I titled my head just a bit to the side and looked questioningly at him.

"I meant, how do you like your current position as lead developer?"

It took me a few moments of thinking before I could come up with a response that I thought he'd be satisfied with.

"Well..." I started and put my paws together for a moment as I thought.

"It's not much different, to be honest with you. I have more responsibility to make sure everyone gets their work done, but other than that it's more or less the same."

I hoped I had given an alright answer as I looked into his eyes and smiled a bit, for good measure. He nodded a bit and looked as if he was pondering about my response before he opened his muzzle to speak.

"Well, the reason I'm asking is because I got a call from Davis today, and he won't be coming back for at least another year. Gotta go through a bunch of various therapy because of the accident. And someone needs to keep the position filled till then."

I couldn't help but flick my ears a bit at the news and my tail gave a few lazy wags. Davis was the usual lead developer that I was filling in for. He had been in a car accident and had apparently gotten quite a lot of injuries.

"And if you feel you're up to it, I was thinking I could change the paperwork so that you're officially the lead developer for your team rather than just filling in."

He flashed me a slight grin and I smiled back at him. So far my promotion to lead developer had been an unofficial one, since I was just filling in.

"Well, sir. I'd be fine with that."

I didn't really know what else to say in response. I had expected there to be some really bad news or something like that when he wanted to talk to me, but this... well, it wasn't bad at all. An official promotion also meant that things would look a bit better in my resumé if I'd want to look for a new job.

"Perfect! Then we got that settled!" he said with a smile and then reached his paws out to me for me to shake.

"I'll bring the paper work for you to sign later."

I shook his paw and nodded. I then watched as he got up and headed for the door to go to whatever boss business he had next.

A sudden rumble in my stomach reminded me that I still hadn't had my lunch, and I felt myself blush a bit as I noticed his head turning to me again.

"Don't spill anything over the keyboard, or your paycheck will have to pay for the new one."

He left my office while laughing a bit to himself and I rolled my eyes a bit. My attention then quickly turned to my still abandoned lunch and I licked my lips as I started freeing it from the plastic prison that was the only thing standing between us.

It was almost four p.m. and I was preparing to leave for the day. All paper work had been signed, I had finished all of today's coding work and everyone else in my team was done for the day too.

I stood up and stretched my body, feeling a bit stiff after having spent, as usual, most of the day in front of the computer. I was feeling a bit tired, which was also the norm on Mondays. I couldn't wait to get to leave, do my usual Monday shopping and then get home and just... do whatever. Maybe get a quick nap before, or after, dinner.

I turned my computer off as the time finally said "four p.m." and I gathered any belongings and started heading out.

"Going home, Robert?"

I turned my head at the familiar voice, and I saw that Jack, too, was heading home. I gave him a smile and nodded, my tail wagging a bit at the thought of getting home.

"Yup, the day's done and I got no more work for today."

I waited for him to catch up with me and we then walked together towards the elevator that would get us out of our work floor.

"You sure missed out on the asian food, it was pretty damn good!"

He flashed me a grin and I gave him a chuckle.

"Well, maybe next time. Didn't want to have to spend more time here than I'd normally have to."

This time it was his turn to chuckle and he kept grinning at me as we reached the elevator and he pressed a finger at the button that would call it here.

"What, you don't like it here? Maybe you don't like us?"

I rolled my eyes at him, as he knew perfectly well that I liked it well enough at this place.

"You know I do. Just don't like to spend more time here than necessary since I could be out, doing other stuff."

The elevator doors opened and we stepped in.

"Like ogling guys at the gym or hitting on people at the gay bars?"

It was no secret to Jack that I was gay, and he liked to tease me a bit about it. Not because he was trying to be mean or anything, that's just the way he was.

"Maybe. Or maybe I have some private stuff to get done."

I didn't bother to come up with something witty in response. I was feeling tired and just really wanted to get home.

He gave a laugh at my response and smirked.

"Hah, yeah right. Like I've never heard that one from you before. I bet you're gonna hit the gym and give longing looks to the guys in the shower."

I rolled my eyes again.

"You're just jealous because I've never given you those kinds of looks."

He raised an eyebrow at this and laughed a bit.

"Jealous? Nah, I'd prefer to have a hot girl give me some longing looks. Although... I guess with the right clothes and a wig you might..."

"Oh don't even go there..."

I growled a bit at him, not really to threaten him but just to show that I really didn't want to discuss this. Well, at least not with him.

He laughed again and gave me a pat on my back.

"Who knows, maybe you would look good in drags?"

I pressed my face into one of my paws and groaned. It wasn't the first time he had made that joke, but it always made me groan and feel a bit embarrassed. I just couldn't imagine myself dressing up in women's clothing... unless I had a loving boyfriend that really, really wanted to have a weird fantasy fulfilled or something. And even then...

A beeping noise and the elevator doors opening told us we had reached the garage level, and we stepped out of the elevator and started heading towards our cars.

"Well, see ya tomorrow then, Jack."

I snorted a bit but waved my paw at him..

"See ya."

I unlocked my car and went inside. I turned on the engine and then started heading towards my next stop, the grocery store. Thinking about the grocery store made me remember that Alex worked at a grocery store, and as I drove out of the garage I played with the thought that maybe he worked at the one I usually went to.

"Fat chance" I said to myself. There were a bunch of grocery stores in this city and he could be working at any of them. The chance of me bumping into him was probably pretty slim.

Half an hour later I was back home and had just got done putting the stuff I bought in their respective places. I flopped down on the couch in my living room and yawned a bit before turning on the TV and just taking some time to relax.

I hadn't even had time to flip through a handful of channels before I felt something in my pocket buzz and the ringtone on my cell phone started playing. I quickly fished it up from my pocket and checked the name of the caller.

Sean.

"Robert's" I said as I hit the answer button on my phone and put the speaker by my ear.

"Hey, whatsup Rob."

"Hey Sean."

Sean was my older brother. He was three years older than me, making him twenty-eight, and he usually called on Mondays to check how things were going. He was also usually the only one to call me Rob.

"Nothing much, really. Just taking some time to relax before dinner."

I scratched my belly a bit after responding to his question.

"You?"

"Not much, just waiting for my shift to start."

He worked at a retirement home a couple of miles outside the city.

"Evening shift huh?"

"Yup!"

"That sucks."

He chuckled a bit at my words and even though I couldn't see it, I knew he was smiling to himself.

"It's not so bad. And someone needs to help the senile folks when they wake up in the night and don't know where they are."

This time it was my turn to smile. My brother was a pretty nice guy and he cared for others, even those he didn't know. I had always liked that about him. He was someone you could trust and he would always be there when you needed someone to talk too.

"Well, I guess you're right. Must suck cleaning up every time they mess themselves in bed though."

I could hear him laugh and I gave a chuckle as well.

"Well, it's not glamorous. It's part of the job though and you get used to it."

I nodded a bit to myself and lazily flipped through my channels. As usual, there was nothing but crap on.

"Had a good weekend?"

My ears perked a bit at the question he gave me and I could feel all those good memories come back to me once more. Pictures of Alex on top of me, under me, between my legs... well, pictures of Alex in general filled my mind. And naturally, I could feel some sensations within me wake up when I remembered the more... dirtier, details.

"Uhuh. It was... great."

I shifted a bit in my seat and tried not to think too much about mine and Alex's various bed activities. I'd have to wait with those kinda thoughts at least until I wasn't talking to my brother anymore.

"Oh? Care to tell?"

I could hear the curiosity in his tone and I thought for a few moments before responding. I, of course, wanted to leave out the details of that Saturday night, but since that was mostly what I was thinking off it was hard not to.

I cleared my throat a bit before speaking again.

"Well, I met this tiger Alex at a café at Saturday and..."

I stopped myself, trying to think about how to word the next sentence.

"And?"

He sounded a bit impatient to hear the rest, and I scratched my head a bit and thought about how to put things.

"We ended up spending the day together and... well... we ended up here. You can figure the rest out on your own."

I heard him groan a bit at my last sentence. I guess the thought of two guys going at it wasn't the most pleasant one to him, despite having a gay brother. And I didn't blame him. The thought of him going at it with his girlfriend was... well, something I'd rather not think about.

"Well I'm glad for you, Rob. About time you found someone new."

I rubbed my neck a bit and looked up at my ceiling, memories of my old boyfriend coming to me. There had been some other guys after him, but they had all just been ordinary one night stands. None of them I had actually spent a whole day just talking too. They had just been random guys from the bars that wanted something up their tail or their muzzle, and I had been happy to provide.

I stayed silent for a moment before shaking my head a bit to clear it of the memories.

"It was only a weekend though, it's not like we're together or anything."

"Did you get his number though? Or did you give yours?"

My whole body tensed up a bit as I remembered that he had, indeed, left me his number.

"He gave me his number."

I breathed a bit faster, feeling a bit nervous now. I don't know why though, really. My brother was usually easy to talk with about... well... anything.

"That means he'd like to meet you again. You should call him."

I pondered my brother's words for a few moments. I guess he was right since Alex had probably not left me his number if he didn't want to talk to me again. And, honestly, I liked him well enough after our weekend together to maybe want to see him again.

"Maybe I will. Not gonna promise anything though."

I heard him chuckle and then I could hear some kind of rustling from his end of the conversation.

"Well, I'd like to hear more later. I gotta run though, shift starting in a few minutes."

Now I could hear what sounded like a jingle of keys, and judging by the footsteps he had started walking.

"Alright, have fun cleaning up old people's... mess."

He had probably jabbed me playfully at my ribs if he could've. He just settled with another chuckle though.

"I'll try. Talk to ya later, Rob. Bye!"

"Bye Sean!"

I put the phone down on my living room table and let myself think about Alex some more. He was a nice tiger, that's for sure. He had both a nice personality and was physically nice. Although, nice isn't perhaps the word I'd used. He looked... well, hot. Maybe I just had a thing for stripes, but he was a really good looking tiger. Both handsome and sexy, especially with his clothes off...

And he had left me his number. Would be a shame to at least not try to see if I could... get something going with him. And even if we didn't get anything more serious going, at least maybe I could make a new friend. Hell, maybe even a "friend with benefits", as many furs often likes to call it.

But for now, I had to get my dinner going. My lunch had been a bit on the small side, and my stomach was letting me know. Even though the thoughts of Alex made me start to feel rather happy inside my pants, the hunger was starting to come over me. I had the whole evening to do something about... that, anyway. Didn't need to hurry.

I'd also have to think about calling Alex.

"After dinner" I told myself as I got up and walked towards my kitchen.

I flopped back down onto my couch and allowed myself to belch rather loudly. The dinner had felt... fucking great, despite it's simplicity. I wasn't a master chef, but I could cook well enough for myself and guests. Today I had just settled with some simple pasta with Bolognese sauce, with a nice cold soda to swallow it down. Usually I drank milk or juice for dinner, but today I thought I'd treat myself to some soda just because... well, why not?

I had brought my laptop with me to the living room and I now sat there, sprawled out on my couch and lazily surfed the web. There wasn't much out of the usual to check though. Some twitter stuff, people complaining and creating drama over the silliest of things on facebook... the usual stuff. It did give me a good laugh though to see some people lash out at each other over stupid things, especially on places like facebook where everyone could see it.

I spent maybe an hour or so just surfing the web before slowly getting a bit bored. I was also starting to feel really tired, which felt a bit weird since it wasn't that late. Was around seven p.m. and I still had a few hours to kill before going to bed.

Well, it was Monday after all so it as actually not so weird that I felt tired. It was always the same on Mondays. The rest of the week worked alright, but Mondays... ugh. And feeling a bit bored just made it even worse.

This comfortable couch didn't make it one bit better.

Not one... bit... better...

I woke up forty something minutes later, having fallen asleep in the couch. I woke up by the sound of something hitting the floor. Luckily, it was just the TV remote and not my laptop. Apparently I managed to push the remote off the couch in my sleep.

It had been a nice nap though. I think I even had had time to just start dreaming. Dreaming about a certain tiger...

I stretched my body and yawned a bit before turning on the TV again. There was still just crap showing. Sometimes I asked myself why I even kept the damn thing. They only showed the same re-runs or the same kind of TV shows all of the time. Sometimes they showed something new like... I don't know... Game of thrones. But most of the time, it was just the same re-runs.

And since I didn't have anything else to occupy myself with, my thoughts went to the tiger once more.

I don't know why he had made such an impact on me. Maybe it was just because the memories were still really fresh or maybe it was because somewhere deep inside me I felt lonely. I don't know. He hadn't been the usual one nighter though like the previous ones before him, that's for sure. This time I had actually spent a good bit of time talking and learning things about him.

And... that's probably why he had made an impact on me. It hadn't just been the usual go some place together, fuck and then leave. We had talked quite a lot, we had even shared dinner... It was almost more like a really successful blind date or something.

And now, since my thoughts were drawn to him yet again, I picked up my phone and went through my saved numbers to find his.

And there it was.

I stared at it for a bit, wondering what to do next. My brother wanted me to call him, and I admit that I wanted to. I was afraid it would seem a bit weird to Alex though, since I didn't know how Alex felt about all of this. Maybe Alex just thought of it as little more than a nice time in bed between two guys. Nothing more, nothing less.

He had left me his number though...

"Oh, fuck it."

I took a deep breath as I decided to send him a text message, rather than call him. I felt that that wouldn't be as weird, if Alex thought that the guy he had sex with decided to contact him the next day was weird. My fingers tapped away as I tried to write, often erasing everything since I couldn't decide on what to write. After a couple of minutes I decided that the easiest way was to make it fairly simple.

"Hey Alex You gave me your number so I thought I'd text you and see whatsup. So, whatsup? Robert"

I looked over at the message a couple of times and then took a deep breath before I finally hit the send button.

Now all I had to do was wait and see what would happen.

There we go! Remember the votes, comments and all that. Next chapter will be approximately the beginning of next week, but might be sooner (or later). Toodles!
