Chapter 2

"We don't like spies around here" said one of the wolves "do we, brother?"

"No we don't" the other wolf answered with a snarl "especially not humans"

"P-please" Rob begged "please don't hurt me. I promise I won't say a word, I'll never come back."

"Too late, human!" the first wolf growled. "Now, what should we do with him Loki?" "Let's eat 'em!" Loki suggested quickly "no, you idiot!" the first wolf responded accompanied by a snarl "sorry, Thor, I'm just so hungry" "Let's bring him to the Alpha", Thor suggested and Loki agreed. Loki grabbed Rob by his shirt with his teeth and dragged a very scared human out to the rest of the pack.

"What do we have here?" the Alpha boomed

"We got us a human" the brothers answered simultaneously

"Bring him to me" the Alpha ordered and Rob was dragged slowly to the paws of the big wolf, his heart pounding faster than ever before in his life. He was plopped out of the wolf's mouth like he was a dead deer. "Thank you, Loki. Now, what's your name, human?" the Alpha asked commandingly "R-rob, my name is Rob" Rob answered nervously. The Alpha chuckled menacingly, "that's cute but I don't really give a shit about your name! I want to know what you are doing here, on wolf territory?!" "I w-w-was just p-passing through, I saw you guys and I just wanted to hear what you were saying, then I was going to go home" Rob answered honestly. The wolf noticed the fear in Rob's eyes and grinned "well, you can't do that anymore".

"W-why?" Rob asked with more than a hint of fear

"Because I said you can't!"

"Yes sir" Rob responded submissively

"hmmm, nice try" the Alpha said "I am called Hugo by everyone except newcomers, such as yourself. You will call me 'Master', understand?" Rob nodded "and you, human, will be referred to as 'pup', understand" Rob nodded again, "yes, master"

"Good. Meeting dismissed!" everyone left and Rob started to leave when Hugo called him. "Yes, master?"

"Where do you think your going, pup?" "To find a place to sleep, master" Rob responded. "Again, cute. All newcomers spend the night with me in my private den" Hugo stated, which Rob was grateful but confused.

"Thank you, master, but why?"

"Because I can" Hugo answered with a smirk. He got down to Rob's level and started in the opposite direction of the rest of the pack "come with me, for it will be dark soon" Rob obeyed without a sound.

They walked in silence for ten minutes before they came to a big cave, which Hugo indicated was his "private den". The wolf went in while Rob wanted for instruction, at which the wolf chuckled, "are you afraid, pup?" Rob shook his head "then come in" again, Rob obeyed. The inside of the den was dimly lit from some unseen light source and it was a considerable twelve degrees warmer inside than outside. That combined with the lighting gave the place a certain cozy, even romantic, feeling.

"This is a nice den, master" R ob finally spoke. Hugo smiled at the complement, "thank you, pup". Rob also noticed something missing, he still didn't see an Alpha female, which puzzled him greatly.

"hey master" he said

"yes, pup" Hugo responded

"may I ask of something" the wolf nodded "where is the Alpha female?"

Hugo didn't answer, he didn't even speak, for several seconds, "I-I don't have one" he answered quietly. "Why not, master?" Hugo didn't respond again "just haven't found the right one yet? Did she die? Are you gay? Is..." the wolf interrupted "yes" Rob stared in confusion and then it hit him "you're gay, master?", he nodded "oh my God, so am I". The wolf's ears perked at this and he lifted his head up "you are, pup?" "yes, master!" Rob answered excitedly. The wolf's tail started wagging slightly, showing he was happy too.

Hugo explained that they were looking for a new member for the pack "because having only nineteen pack members is just unacceptable, we want a nice round number. But you already know this" he teased.

"I know" Rob said with a slight blush "sorry about that, master".

"You are forgiven, pup" Hugo said "by the way, what were you doing spying on us for?"

"I wasn't spying, I was just watching. I have been fascinated with wolves ever since I was a boy and to see an entire pack of them was just too good an opportunity to pass"

"Interested in wolves, huh?" Hugo asked with a smirk "you wouldn't want to be the new member of our pack, would you?"

"Oh yes yes yes! A million times yes!" Rob answered with no hesitation, "I thought you might. Well, in that case you need to get your sleep, pup."

"Why, master?" Rob asked

"Because any new member needs to pass a training regimen to join". Rob nodded and started to fall asleep, as did Hugo.

"Good night, Master"

"good night, pup"
