Part Twenty

The first full day of the expansion project saw a lot of activity. I was in the shop bending and welding the arches for the greenhouses as the girls were setting the upright posts and getting the beds marked. It was rather enjoyable to see the way the girls managed to handle the rear tine rototiller, the beast had quite a lot of power, but to their credit both Mel and Sherry managed to control the powerful machine and after less than half an hour they were plowing into virgin ground transforming it into productive farmland. It took about ten minutes to chew a thirty inch wide by thirty foot long plot and when opening up new plots they needed at least four passes to get them ready. Seeing they had things well in hand, I was free to return to the shop and get the arches fabricated. By three o'clock that afternoon they had managed to not only till up the plots but set the anchor posts for the first two green houses.

The arches were set every four feet with a center ridgepole connecting them together to help with snow load. so each greenhouse had ten arches plus two end spans that were framed in wood to hold the doors, not unlike quonset huts.

Covered in six Mil greenhouse plastic that lasted anywhere between six to eight years. As the sun was heading to the horizon we had finished the first two.

“My god, we Did it!” Sherry whooped at seeing the end result of their direct efforts.

“Yup we did, two down, ten more to go.” I said. “I am going to have to order more material, but now that you see just how 'easy' it is to build these, why not step inside and see how it looks?” I asked with a grin as my morphs entered.

“Whoa! it's starting to get warm in here already!” Mel squeaked. as Sherry slowly walked along the center path of freshly tilled earth, her arms out to her side just reveling in the amazing accomplishment. Then, she started, to Dance! it was a joy to behold. Like some primitive fertility goddess, she danced her joy in the new creation.

“It should easily maintain about eighty nine degrees in hear from now on. We may need to add an additional layer of plastic and a blower to create a thermal barrier, but I know from personal experience these green houses maintain this kind of temp even when there is two feet of snow on the ground, so we shall be able to maintain production. Think of these greenhouses as giving you at least an additional month or two of growing season but we may need to open things up in here if it gets over ninety five.”

“Wow you mean it can get that hot in here in the winter? it sounds almost like a sauna.” Mel said.

“I kinda like the idea of coming into some place warm if I am tramping out in the snow.” My Mousey smiled.

“Oh yeah, I can't properly express just how much contentment I am feeling right now, in my old life, I never could imagine the simple joy of creating food from the soil... I mean sure, I love salads like anyone else, but I never knew the satisfaction I would derive from actually growing and harvesting the greens myself. After seeing the farmer's market, and learning just how many wonderful people share in the lifestyle, I will never look at shopping in the stores the same way again. Living out here, we Never have to worry about what we are going to eat..._ Ever! _ That is an unexpectedly amazing feeling for me... I never knew about. I actually never thought about where the food I bought at the stores actually came from.” My Skunkette said. Looking around the new garden beds I could see her visualizing what we may plant in these brand new beds and the crops that we could harvest.

“That is what is known as 'Food Security'. Very few people understand it, or even think about where their food comes from; a lot of people just think 'You get it at the store', but where does the store get it? No, if there were ever an interruption in the constant delivery of fresh food to the 'distribution centers' also known as Stores then there would be riots in the streets. It is said civilization is only six meals away from chaos. But that is why we are way out here in the pucker brush, far from the maddening crowds. If everything should go to hell in a harvest basket, we would be just fine. Over the years I have slowly built this farm into an island of self sufficiency. It is by no means complete, but for a while it has been just me here... almost gave up when I lost Bree... But after a long night of soul searching I couldn't abandon my customers. They rely on what we grow here, and with the farmers market that will be more so. If we decide to reactivate the CSA program, then those customers will have to come to the market to pick up their weekly produce boxes. And it will give them an opportunity to see what else is available.” I said.

“Wow, that is a great idea, Master Kev. I had never paid a visit to a farmer's market, but that outing really opened my eyes to a wider selection of food choices. I'll admit, being a city morph, I never thought about it. Perhaps it's because I am 'just' an entertainment model, or..” I placed my fingers against My Skunkette's lips, pausing her mid thought.

“Never limit your potential just because you were created for a certain sector of society. I think this experiment proves beyond the shadow of a doubt, that you can become more than your 'Programming', yes?” I asked. My morph smiled with a nod.

“Yes, Master. And thank you, from the bottom of my heart.” she said and hugged me. Mel joined in a moment later.

“So, Dinner tonight?” I asked as we made our way back to the house.

“A nice stew would be really tasty,” Mel asked.

“...or maybe some Gnocchi?” Sherry put in.

“Ooh that would probably be faster and oh so tasty! Can I change my vote?” My Mousey asked. I chuckled.

“Gnocchi it is then, besides, you can bring an offering to Bree, she used to Love my Gnocchi.” I said with a smile remembering just how my beloved reacted. This time the memory wasn't a sad one, but a warm memory of happy times, times I have found once more.

“I think that would be an awesome idea Sir, and thank you. Do you wish to join us Sir?” My Mousey asked.

“No, I think this should be a 'girls night out' if you will, I miss her, but I still feel her in my heart. She is no longer alone, for you both have joined her and I feel a lot of contentment from that knowledge. Just tell her that I love her, and miss her and can't wait to try the crossing thing.” I said as we stripped out of our clothes in the mud room and I got my apron from the pantry going into 'Chef Mode' as my morphs helped where and when they could, every meal was becoming a congenial cooking class for them, and a fun time was had by all...

After a glorious meal, Mel went up to her room, got the tall glass candle, lit it, said a prayer, then came back down stairs. Sherry had a portion of Gnocchi in the sage brown butter sauce on a small plate to bring as an offering. I hugged them both as they made their way up the low hillock to Bree's grave.

The gorgeous full moon sailed high in the sky as they approached. Mel set the candle in the center of the blue flowers planted in profusion and Sherry set the plate on the carved marble headstone... taking a seat next to Mel.

“On this night, and in this place, We who come to thee in love, and compassion, call to thee, Breeanna Taylor, come... On this night of the full moon, come, move therefore and appear to us, your sisters of the bonding, for we wish to commune with she who loved our master. Come to us Breeanna, across the veil that separates life from death, We bring a gift from the masters hands, lovingly crafted to honor thy memory and the love you shared... Come to us Breeanna Taylor and be welcome here.” Mel intoned then lowered her arms sitting in the pose of meditation as the night sounds died away. Sherry felt a prickling along her spine gasping as a feather light touch seemed to caress her cheek. A mist slowly rose up from the grave to coalesce into the form of a lovely Raccoon morph made of softly glowing Myst and moonlight. She smiled down at her visitors as she settled into place the glowing candle illuminating her from within.

“Welcome to my resting place, sisters of the contract...” She said in a hollow voice looking over at the wide eyed purple Skunkette. She reached a ghostly paw to comfort her.

“Fear not, sister Cheryl, for I know you bring much joy to our Keven, My name is...Was, Breeanna Taylor. In life I was to Keven what you are to him now, and it brings my spirit great joy to know that he is no longer alone. For the blackness in his soul that resulted from my... untimely departure, is fading away thanks to the love and compassion of two remarkable morphs that sit in communion with me this night has given to him.” she said caressing the shocked Skunkette's cheek.

“Th-Thank you, mistress Breeanna. You do me great honor... a-and we bring you an offering of the master's Gnocchi in s-sage brown butter sauce. K-keven said it was one of your favorites....” She stammered.

“Thank you, beloved of our master. And you are right it is... it was, and you both are very thoughtful to share it with me this night of the full moon... Know that you are welcomed into this place with love and trust and all the joy I can muster. For I have witnessed first hand your good works, and it pleases me greatly.” The Raccoon said with a loving smile.

“And Mel... Welcome and great joy unto you for honoring me this night. For you are a special creature among your kind, and I am grateful that we have this chance to commune together once again.” The ghostly Raccoon beamed at the mouse morph. As she bathed her in spectral radiance, Mel seemed to take on a glow of her own, churring in pleasure.

Turning to the offering plate she reached out, as they watched, the pillowy Gnocchi levitated off the headstone, floating away from the plate then vanished into Myst one at a time.

“Oh these bring back such memories of pleasure, thank you. It has been such a long time... Now, let us discuss the glory of Craggin Moore that I see. Tell me, what did you think of your excursion to the Farmer's market? I loved my time there, it was where I met the master.” Breeanna beamed at her guests.

“Oh my God! It was awesome!” Sherry squeed. Bree chortled musically as the girls swapped stories about their experiences.

“You lived such an amazing life Bree; it saddens me greatly to hear how you died, but I am, grateful that you still exist for us to get to know you, and I will try my best to pull off that naughty little trick you told me about.” Sherry winked at the specter.

“...Given from what I've seen of your sexual prowess Sherry, you have more than enough skill to pull that off, just remember, there is no such thing as too much lube!” The raccoon winked back.

“You... You mean you were watching when he was plowing me on the railing last night?” Sherry squeaked as a blush danced across her cheeks.

“I may have been laid to rest, but I remember well the feelings that human can bring out in a morph. It pleases me that you have pledged your life to him...Keven is a good master. He never beat me, well, not in anger at least.” the Raccoon chuckled, “But now that I have crossed over, I have chosen to remain to help maintain the harmony of Craggin Moore. With luck, when the veil between the worlds is at it's thinnest, You two can bring me across for the span of that single evening. I can once more partake in the joys of the living... If, you would be willing to help in that quest?” the ghost asked the purple Skunkette.

“Of course! Bree, Yes, for Mel knows way more about the inner workings of the soul than I ever will, but now that I have met you, I want you to experience life again. For master Keven truly saved me from a fate worse than death!” Sherry exclaimed.

“...Worse than being beaten, raped and butchered?” The Raccoon asked with a touch of frost, looking at the Skunk with an arched eyebrow. The Skunkette swallowed hard at the sudden chill in the air.

“Um... yeah, honestly, I felt that might eventually be my fate as well. It played out in my nightmares more than a few times. Mel can tell you the way she would comfort and console me after a bad night.” Sherry shuddered then gave the Mousey a loving look of gratitude.

“Truly, you chose wisely sister. For there were forces set in motion to take away all choice from you, including the choice to continue to live... The one you called Mr. Champagne Room would have brought you a death in ways that are far too grim to discuss with the living this night... For it is said that the Dead know things that the living do not... And this is truth. We see things that are obscured to the sight of the living, yet the one thing that the dead know all too well is the simple fact that it is Better to be alive...” Breeanna said, reached out, placing a finger between each morphs breasts.

“From this point onwards, until you draw your last ragged breath in this life, know that we three all share a connection. A bond that transcends the veil of death itself.” She intoned and sank her paws into the girls chests. Breeanna's ghostly hands gripped their living, beating hearts. Both morphs froze, pulled into that nether realm between life and death, their eyes wide, as a pulse of energy flashed from the Raccoon's heart Chakra, racing down her arms and passing into their very souls. A single heartbeat later, an answering pulse raced up the ghostly arms to blossom within the phantasm's chest. As she slowly removed her paws the girls breathed once more.

“W-What was that?” Sherry asked rubbing the spot that Bree's paw had touched. “It felt like the touch of death!”

“A gift. A blessing. A bonding of our own. In a way, it was...For now every joy you share a small portion I shall know, every orgasm you experience, shall strengthen me, to aid in the crossing ritual.”

“I freely accept this bond and gift, to one who has gone on, yet remains with us all in our hearts. For I can now truly Feel our connection Breeanna, and I am grateful for it..” Mel declared.

“And I as well, my beloved heart bonded Raccoon sister, may our joys and passions strengthen you as you maintain the harmony of this place where we live.” Sherry vowed as the three of them shared a heartfelt connection that would alter their lives forever... as the full moon bathed the countryside in it's silvery glow
