Part of the story idea (the initial transformation) by Mr. Mergers
Charles regarded the mixture in the salad bowl critically, careful not to touch it or the wet part of the spoon. The old lady (or should that be witch) had warned him not to get into contact with it, that a single drop might be enough to activate the effect. He went on stirring the mixture and presently small bubbles began to rise up, indicating that the potion was ready for the next step. He picked up the picture of the previous year's playmate he had cut from the magazine and regarded it for a long moment, enjoying the invigorating feeling as his eyes took in every detail of the perfect body. From the large and shapely breasts, the endless legs, spread invitingly to the trimmed bush and the waiting sex underneath. Suddenly his pants felt very tight, a lot tighter than any thought of his rather plain wife could ever make them. "Just another hour until she comes home."
He dropped the picture into the bowl almost reluctantly and stirred the potion for a few more minutes. When it had been dissolved, he cleaned the spoon carefully before he put it into the dishwasher. Then he headed to his study to while away the time and get some use out of the money he had forked over for that erotic site.
Charles smiled when he heard their car stop on the driveway. He had planned the day carefully, he and Teresa would be alone today, their daughter Amy would spend the night at Teresa's sister's house. Teresa had agreed rather quickly to their daughter's wish to spend some time with Karen's children when Charles had indicated that this would give them a chance to have some private time together. He wondered if she would have agreed if she knew what he had planned for her. Charles quickly shut down the computer and headed downstairs to greet his wife.
He was unpleasantly surprised when not only his wife but also their daughter and his wife's sister trooped in. "Hello, Terry. What..."
Their eight-year old daughter interrupted him when she ran up to him and presented a furry bundle to him "Daddy, look! I got a kitten!" The cat, less than pleased at the rough handling, screeched and clawed her way out of the hands that held her. A black and white blur disappeared into the kitchen.
A moment later there was a loud crash and more screeches. Before Charles had said more than "Not the kitchen!" His wife and daughter were running there. He followed a step behind.
The remains of the salad bowl littered the floor and the dripping wet cat stood in the puddle, hissing furiously. Amy advanced on her and the kitten retreated into the corner, only to dodge past her. The cat didn't get past Teresa, however, who caught her with a triumphant "Got you!" A moment later there was a big flash and the smell of catnip filled the kitchen.
Charles stared in horror at his wife or at what had been her only a moment ago "Terry!?!"
"Murr?"
Where Teresa had stood a moment before stood a cat-like being. She was very obviously female, the sizeable breasts left no doubt about that. Hardly any skin showed as she was covered in white fur with black spots and long blonde hair adorned her head. The clothes she had worn a moment before were gone however, as was the small kitten.
"Mommy!!!"
"Teresa!?!"
Charles was still frozen in shock when the cat suddenly licked her lips and sidled up to him. "Murr!" She rubbed her body against him, leaving no doubt as to her intentions, purring and licking his face.
"No!" Charles tried to fend her off, horrified by his wife's change, but she was rather insistent.
"Mommy? Kitten?" Amy stared at the cat-like being that had been her mother only a moment ago.
"Charles! What have you done to my sister?"
Half an hour later Charles had finally managed to calm down his hysterical daughter and the only slightly less hysterical if significantly more angry sister of his wife. She had been almost ready to kill Charles, if he had not convinced her that the change was only temporary, she probably would have. Teresa had not said a word during all this, apparently she could not speak in her current state, but she had most eloquently expressed her amorous intentions, purring, meowing, licking and rubbing against Charles. Only his horror at her appearance, and even more the presence of the others, had stopped him from giving in to her advances. It had been close, however.
They decided that their best course of action was to take Teresa to the witch who had sold Charles the ingredients for the potion. It took quite a bit of persuasion to get her into the car. Karen drove while Charles, his changed wife and their daughter sat in the back. Charles had his hands full, keeping Teresa strapped in and out of his pants.
They were almost there when Karen had to stop at a traffic light. Teresa sniffed the air, turned her head and sniffed once more. She growled (it sounded more lusty than angry) and before anyone could react, she freed herself from the safety belt and jumped out of the window. Charles could only stare after her as she bounded across the street, running on all four. She made it across the street, accompanied by screeching tires and angry honks.
Pedestrians and drivers stared at her in shock as she stopped at the high fence, looking for a way to get in.
"That's the zoo!" Charles jelled, jumped out of the car and raced after his transformed wife. Just before he could reach her, she hissed and took off, running along the fence. People scattered before her, some of them screaming in fear. Charles had to watch helplessly as she scrambled up a tree, ran along a branch and jumped down on the other side of the fence, disappearing from his view. He stared after her for a moment, then he took off once more, running towards the nearby entrance.
He slapped a twenty-dollar bill down, picked up his ticket and hurried into the zoo. Shouts and loud animal noises left no doubt about where she had gone. His blood almost froze when the roar of a lion shook the ground. A moment later he reached the lion pen, panting and out of breath.
He could only watch helplessly as his wife and a male lion circled each other, both growling and hissing. Suddenly Teresa turned and presented her rump to the male lion. He stared at it for a moment and sniffed her. His growls of anger changed tone, he licked her rump and mounted her.
"No! Terry!" Charles had to watch as his wife mated with the male lion in front of dozens of spectators. She twisted her head around and licked the lion, giving every indication of enjoying herself. A lady with a small boy in her arms looked at Charles very strangely.
Charles noticed the hut and the animal handlers who were watching the proceedings with great curiosity. He ran there and banged on the door. After a moment the door was opened and one of the men asked "Do you know anything about that?" He didn't have to specify what 'that' was.
"Yes."
"Ok, come in."
Charles entered the hut. He looked at the two men and pleaded "You have to do something! You have to get that lion off Teresa! Please!"
"Sorry, no can do." Said the second handler.
"You don't understand... that's my wife!"
"Your wife!" They both exclaimed and stared at Charles. One of them said "You don't understand either. I wouldn't go out there if that were the president's wife. I don't have any desire to get mauled. We can't interfere before they are finished, it's simply too dangerous."
"Your wife?" The other one asked and shook his head. Then he grinned "Quite a hellcat you've got there, eh?"
"I..." Charles sputtered, his face glowing red "She... she doesn't normally look like that..."
He chuckled "So an evil wizard turned her into a cat?"
"Something like that..." Charles admitted "Actually, she drank a potion... It wasn't supposed to do that."
"Really?"
Charles explained what had happened, leaving out a few details about exactly what the potion was supposed to do. He did tell them that they had been on their way to the person who had sold him the potion to try to get an antidote. After looking at the cat-like creature a little closer, they admitted that she didn't really look like any animal they knew and that she did look somewhat human.
"Well, whatever. There's not much we can do at the moment." He grinned at Charles "Except watch the show." With that he turned back to the window and the two rutting felines. Blushing furiously but unable to look away, Charles joined him.
Charles was just about ready to punch the snickering animal handler who stood on his left when Teresa and the lion both roared out their passion. He forgot about anything else, his fists balled in impotent rage. He had to wait a few more minutes while the two felines cuddled and licked before the animal handler judged the lion calm enough to try to separate them. The handlers left Charles in the hut and entered the pen. After a few minutes one of them managed to coax the lion away from Teresa and the other one led her to the hut. She got up on her feet just before entering the building.
"Terry!" Charles hugged his changed wife and after a moment she returned his affection, licking his face and rubbing her muzzle against his. She seemed much less frisky than before, if nothing else, mating with the lion seemed to have calmed her down.
"It seems she knows you." He looked at the pair for a bit, then he asked "What do you want to do now?"
"I... I'd like to get her back into our car so we can get her cured. Preferably without causing more panic or something."
"I see..." The animal handler thought a bit, then he asked "Where is the car?"
"I don't know... But I can call Karen and ask her." Charles took out his cell phone.
"Ask her to come to the back entrance, it's closer and there are few people around."
"Will do." Charles found that his phone had turned itself off yet again. He promised himself that he'd buy a new one soon. When he switched it on, he found several messages waiting for him. He figured it had been Karen, so he didn't bother to listen to them but called her right away. Karen was very anxious about what had happened to Teresa but he managed to reassure her and directed her to the back entrance.
They wrapped Teresa in a blanket and led her away. A lot of people stared after them, but they shook them off by using a few employee-only shortcuts. They had to wait a minute for Karen, then they ushered Teresa into the car. Charles thanked the animal handlers profusely and they drove off.
They managed to make it to the woman who had sold Charles the potion without further problems. At first she was a bit surprised when she heard what had happened, but after a bit she got an idea what they could do about it. She disappeared into her kitchen for a bit and soon returned with another potion.
"This won't hurt her?" Charles asked.
"I'm pretty sure." She poured it into a bowl and put it on the table. It smelled of catnip and the transformed female began to lap it up eagerly, purring in pleasure. "The potion counteracts other magic. Since the other potion is supposed to wear off on its own anyway and this should speed things along a bit. This potion is not very strong, I hope it is enough. I also put a sedative into it."
"Murr?" Teresa looked at them in confusion, then she curled up and fell asleep.
"Are you sure she will be fine?"
"Quite sure." She said "But to be honest, nothing like this has ever happened before, so I can't be completely certain. She should turn back in a few hours."
"If she doesn't?"
"Here is a second dose of this potion, give it to her if she hasn't turned back by... say 8 PM. If she still hasn't turned back by tomorrow, we'll have to try something else. I suggest you take her home now."
"Ok. Anything else I should know?"
"The sedative should wear off in about three or four hours. If we're lucky, she will turn back before then." She considered Charles and gave him a lopsided grin before adding "She will need you when she wakes up."
"Yes? Well, I can imagine. I hope she doesn't freak out."
"Well... let's just say that the 'transformation' part of the potion usually wears off a lot sooner than the 'love' part. If you get my drift."
"Oh." Charles blushed deeply "I think I do."
"Good. Her memory of what happened while she was transformed will probably be very hazy, so I don't think that she'll be traumatized or anything. Please go now. And call me and tell me how things turned out."
"I will."
Charles carried his peacefully sleeping and purring wife to the car and they drove home. Karen and his daughter left soon after. He sat on the bed, his wife's head on his lap, waiting for her to wake up. He had a lot of time to think about what had happened. After a while he got drowsy and was almost asleep when there was another flash. When he looked down, his wife had turned back. The kitten was lying next to her, also peacefully asleep. The only thing that was missing was her clothes.
Not that she would have kept them on for long. When Teresa woke up a few minutes later, she was terribly hungry. Not hungry for food, though. Charles' clothes soon flew across the room and they didn't leave the bed until almost midnight. And then only to answer an urgent call of nature and to grab a few snacks. When they fell asleep a few hours later, Charles was surprised how pleasantly his wife snored. "Actually... she's purring..." He was too tired to worry about it.
They got a very big surprise nine months later.
