They finished off the last of the sandwiches and both let out a content sigh. Silver licked his lips with his forked tongue and Sky withheld a small giggle, he found it funny for some reason. He was rather shocked at his own behaviour. He usually didn't feel this comfortable with someone he had just met, let alone a dragon!
He grabbed the plates and quickly took them down stairs and loaded them into the dishwasher. When he returned he noticed Silver's face brighten up when he walked in, he tried to hide it but couldn't do it very well. Sky smiled, this was one of the first times in his life he was actually sincerely happy, and not just faking smiles. It felt great! He sat on the chair next to the bed were Silver was sitting.
He felt like he had known him all his life, a good friend, when in fact he knew nothing about him. So he took some initiative and asked him a question. "Ummm... Silver?"
"Hmmm?"
"Uh..I was wondering, how old are you?"
It wasn't the greatest question but it was a good starting point and it was all Sky could think of to say. He wasn't the best conversationalist because he didn't really have anyone to talk to.
"Well I'm 15 in human years, how old are you Sky?"
He was shocked to hear he was the exact same age as him? He had suspected that Silver had been around his age but he thought he was older. Sky told him that he was also 15 and he appereared shocked. He guessed he had his suspicions of his age too. He found it rather funny; they were quite alike and even had the same thinking patterns. It's as if they were one being.
Silver was admiring the boy who he know knew was his age. It came as a bit of a shock to him. He thought he was a little older. He then realised he was staring and blushed a little. He felt like he and Sky were friends even though they had just met, well he assumed it was what friendship felt like because he actually hadn't had any friends before. He wondered if Sky had lots of friends, and what the boy was like in general.
He than realised that he had forgotten to ask about his current situation! Like who saved him? And how he even got to the human world? How would he get back!?
So he turned towards his human friend and gazed into his beautiful eyes, he found himself getting lost whenever he looked into the dazzling blue beauties. He blushed again, why did he keep doing that? He shook his head and looked back over at Sky as he asked
"...Sky? I was wondering..... How did I end up here anyway? For a start, who brought me here?"
Sky took a while to process his question. He chose his words carefully and tried to make it sound plausible. But it was difficult, would he even believe it if he told him? He trusted Silver greatly even though they had only known each other for a few hours. So he tried his best to explain it to him without over-complicating it.
"Well.... It started this morning. I was in here and a strange. Warm light suddenly appeared and when I re-opened my eyes, there was a strange, armoured man standing in front of me holding you. He introduced himself as Light and explained that you had been injured badly and needed medical attention, but he couldn't do it himself. So he asked me too look after you for a while." So I accepted and then he thanked me and left. After that I just treated your wounds and changed the bandages a few times, and then you woke up a little while after that."
Silver looked down and noticed that his bandages were quite fresh and neatly applied, and he could smell some sort of cream all over his skin. He assumed it was an ointment that treated burns. He was surprised by the story but most of all, that a stranger would take him in and help him so readily, treat him as a friend. Silver truly admired him, he was kind hearted and friendly, and put others before himself.
He felt himself blushing as he spoke to the human,
"...Thanks a lot Sky....It was really nice of you to help me in my time of need and I'll be forever in your debt."
He could see that he was blushing too as he looked at him and replied,
"Its no trouble! Really! I'm just glad I got to help you out!"
Silver smiled, he was so polite and nice. He felt truly happy he had met Sky, though their time together so far has been brief, it felt as though he had known him for his entire life. He was the only person that had even been nice to him.
"S-Sky... are we friends?"
This question caught him off guard, he had thought as him as a friend when they had first met, I guess that's because he hasn't had a friend before, or known anyone who was nice to him. Sky thought they were friends, so he nodded and answered with a big smile,
"Yeah! Well I think we are."
He saw him let out a sigh of relief and a big, happy dragon smile spread across his face. It was the kind of smile that made it impossible for anyone around it not to smile back. This was the first time Silver had ever felt this happy and it was great! Sky could see his eyes were changing, before they were quite dull but now they were bursting with emotion and life, this, added to the dragon's large happy grin made it impossible for him to stop smiling. They were both so happy they finally had a friend to talk to. To share the good and the bad moments in each others lives.
Silver wanted to stay in that moment forever, smiling at his new friend and feeling upbeat but his bladder had other ideas and began to pester him to relieve himself. He tried to get up and go find a bathroom but when he tried to get up a sharp jolt of pain shot up his arm and caused him to fall, but Sky leapt forward and caught him before he face planted the floor.
"Thanks."
Silver stated as Sky moved his arm over his shoulder for support and began to help him up. This is when Silver suddenly became aware he was completely naked except for his boxers. He felt really embarrassed and noticed his friend was blushing and avoiding eye contact. Silver told the boy that he needed to go use the bathroom and he just nodded as they began to move.
They hobbled out of the room and slowly made their way toward the bathroom, taking it easy so it didn't strain his injuries. They got to the door and Silver slowly walked in while Sky waited outside.
It was a fairly standard bathroom, well at least to humans. To him however, the room was modern and strange. They did have this stuff back in his world but it wasn't as advanced and modern as this bathroom, it fascinated him how similar and yet how different their worlds actually were. He made his way over to the toilet, leaning on the sink and wall for support and relieved himself.
Sky was outside the bathroom quietly thinking to himself about recent events. He had his first friend and he should be ecstatic. But strange thoughts and feelings kept popping into his mind and they confused him, especially about Silver. He couldn't figure them out and just ended up ignoring them, but they wouldn't leave. He continued to try to decipherer these feelings unaware that Silver was facing the exact same mental dilemma...
