Chapter 2---- Revisiting old Worlds

It was the morning of their departure. They were all sitting on the Island shore when King Mickey came through the portal.

"Everybody packed and ready?" he asked.

"Yeah." Sora said getting the four suitcases.

(Three of clothes, one of items)

"Okay then, let's go. The ship is at the castle through the portal. Donald and Goofy are waiting at the ship hanger, let's not keep them waiting."

With that the four of them went through the portal. Kairi was last, as she kept looking back at the mainland and at the Island shore that she wouldn't see for another year. When they got to the other end of the portal, they saw the ship they would be using. It was large, black and red, and heavily armed.

"Okay everyone, climb aboard. There are places for your suitcases in the passenger area." When everyone boarded the ship the King said "Sora, catch!" and he threw a ring of keys to Sora.

Sora caught the ring and said, "You want me to fly the ship?"

"You took on the strongest enemies and blew them to bits on the Ship Routes. Why notfly it?" The king told him.

"Okay, that's a good point." With that, Sora began walking to the ship.

Everyone else had boarded the ship in the passenger area.

As Sora followed the King into the pilot's room, he marveled at the new weaponry on the ship.

"Lots of new weapons have been developed since I left, huh?" Sora asked.

"Not only weapons, Sora. But standard technology has been upgraded too, which is why I have to show you the new flight panel. It's not what it used to be. It's much more complicated, but it makes flying easier." The King told him, opening the door.

While the King showed Sora the new ship controls, Donald, Goofy, Riku, and Kairi were catching up on what happened in the last year. Once Sora was situated in the pilot's area, he used the intercom to signal the launch. Out from Disney Castle they flew. Their destination was Radiant Garden, which they reached in what seemed to be no time at all.

"We're here!" Sora said over the intercom as he brought the ship to a vertical landing.

Kairi watched through the windows as the ship came to a stop.

"This is where we'll be staying for a year?" She asked as she marveled at the beautiful town.

"Yep, and you didn't want to come" Riku answered.

As everyone got off the ship they stared in amazement at the town's new renovations. A familiar voice greeted them as they walked into town.

"You couldn't stay away could you? So, what do the think of the town's renovations?"

It was Yuffie!

"Yuffie! Wow, I see the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee worked out then, huh?" Sora asked.

"Yeah, you should check out the castle now that we fixed it! It's better than ever! And, that's where you'll be staying! You'll be in the lap of luxury! Now c'mon, Leon and the others are waiting!" She almost always spoke in a musical or excited tone.

As they traveled through the town they stopped to admire the fine work that had been put into it by the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee. After a long walk through the town they arrived at the castle.

"Wow." Donald commented.

"Whoa! Last time I saw this place it was falling apart. You guys did an amazing job on this." Sora was stunned.

"Yeah, well..." she said, scratching the back of her head in embarrassment "Everyone pitched in to help out, let's go inside."

When they got into the castle it was like never before. The ceiling had no holes, the walls weren't peeling or falling down, the windows had no cracks, and the carpets weren't torn or stained.

"Oh........" Speechless, Sora stared in amazement at the new renovations.

"Sora." said a familiar voice.

"Leon!" Sora shouted as he walked up to him to shake his hand.

"It's been a while. What do you think of the castle?" Leon asked.

"It's amazing, how long did it take to do all this?"

"About a year and a half."

They continued their conversation as Cid walked in.

"Hey, is that your Kingdom Model XKG 75 out in the Gummi Garage?" He asked.

"Cid!" Sora was happy to see all his old friends again.

Once they were all together they decided to go into town and show their visitors the new areas or renovations. The markets were larger and the once damaged houses were bigger. Among the new areas included were the Gummi Garage, the garden, and a new park.

They explored the town thoroughly; Yuffie pointed out every detail. Gardens had been added and the cracks in the walkway had been patched. They repaired the Bailey and fixed the hole leading to Villain's Vale. It was a long walk through the town, and they stopped to check out each new shop that had been built or modified. They checked out the new restaurants and Fast Food joints that had moved in.

"Wow, this place isn't the same anymore. It's been completely modernized." Sora said.

"Yeah, the restaurant chains offered to buy land and they were willing to pay more than we wanted. They get great business here." Leon explained.

"Ow, ouch, ouch." Kairi complained "Ow, my ankle."

Kairi accidentally twisted her ankle because her leg went numb from all the walking.

"Are you okay?" Yuffie asked with concern.

"Yeah, but I don't think I can walk that much further." She said.

"That's all right, we've been walking around the whole town for about several hours. We should head back now." Leon said, "Can you make it all the way back?"

"I can try. Ow, ouch. No maybe not."

"Sora, carry your girlfriend, we're heading back to the castle." Leon teased.

"She's not my girlfriend." He said turning slightly red.

She giggled when she saw this.

"Oh, c'mon Sora, it's only a joke." She said smiling.

"I guess." He said as he picked her up.

"Wow Kairi, you're so light."

"Did you expect me to be heavy?"

"No, no." he said, thinking he offended her "It's just, that you feel lighter than a feather."

She giggled again.

"Are you two love birds done, cause we're leaving." Leon teased again.

And again Sora turned red, and Kairi giggled.

"We'll catch up!" he shouted back to Leon, who was already at a distance taking everyone back to the castle.

"Alright, I have cash, do you want to go anywhere?" he asked.

"Okay, let's go to one of the new restaurants. I fell like eating Chinese food."

"Deal." He said, as he started to in the direction of the restaurant.

When they got to the restaurant everybody looked at them in a funny way because he was carrying Kairi. To everyone else it looked like they were married or dating. As he sat her down the waiter came over.

"What can I get for you two?" he asked.

You could hear the Chinese accent in his voice.

After they ordered they talked about multiple subjects until the food came. Noodles for Kairi and Kung Pow Chicken for Sora. Once they finished Kairi waited as Sora went to go pay for the food. When they left Kairi was able to walk but she had a slight limp. Sora decided to give her foot a rest and swept her off her feet, catching her off guard.

"Whoa! Sora!" she yelled in surprise.

"You were limping, and I wanted to give you a rest." He said.

"Yeah, well next time say something first, you really startled me there." She said panting from the surprise and excitement." "Sorry." He said, luckily for him she was looking forward and didn't see that his face was turning red again.

They talked some more on the way back to the castle. Once they were there Sora had to put Kairi down to open the door, and when he tried to pick her up again she insisted that he let her walk. When they walked into the main room everyone was there and talking to each other about the heartless and nobodies.

"Well, well. Where were you two?" Leon asked teasingly.

"We went out for lunch at the Chinese Restaurant." Kairi told him, turning her back at him, a bit upset with his teasing.

"Well Sora, when are you guys getting married?" Leon said.

Kairi grew furious of his taunting. Red in the face, angry as hell, and embarrassed like never before, she walked over to him. Glaring at him for a few seconds, she turned her back as if to walk away but quickly turned around and slapped him in the face. Glaring at nothing in particular she walked around him and sat on the couch on the opposite side of him. Nobody laughed, although Riku hold back a chuckle. Sora was shocked at Kairi's actions, as she had never acted like this before, he watched her and Leon waiting to see what would happen next. As he walked around Leon he watched the red hand mark get darker where Kairi slapped him. He went and sat on the same couch as Kairi, but on the opposite side.

"So, Your Majesty, how have the heartless and nobodies been coming back? I mean, we defeated Xemnas right?" Sora asked, trying to forget about Kairi and Leon.

"Well, somehow, a new force is controlling them. I don't know what it is but it has to be strong to control both forces at once."

"Well, I've got some business to attend to now so I'm going to head out." King Mickey said getting up.

Just then Merlin walked in.

"Merlin!" Sora shouted.

"Yes, yes. I know you're all happy to see me but it's too late to talk--uh... Leon, what happened to your face?" Merlin asked, looking at the now almost maroon spot on Leon's face.

"I was attacked." Leon said, a little annoyed.

"Good heavens, by what?" Merlin was still curious.

"By her." He said pointing at Kairi, whose face was starting to turn red again.

"Wow, strong arm." He commented to her.

"Merlin's right, it's getting late" Leon said, annoyed to the point where he raised his voice "Aerith will show you to your rooms."

"Follow me, everyone." She said as she started to walk down the hall "Now, there's no room service but you do get your own individual rooms, each one with a full size bed and a full bathroom. There's also a fully stocked mini fridge in each room; they only have snacks and drinks, for meals you need to go to the kitchen. You'll be just down the hall from each other so you can visit. Now don't stay up too late, you need to be in bed by 11:00, okay."

"Yes, Ma'am." They all answered.

Sora woke early the next morning with a yawn and a stretch. "8:00" he said, "It's too early to be up."

He showered and got dressed and went to see if anybody else was up. To his surprise when he knocked on the doors Kairi answered hers and was awake and fully dressed.

"Well, you're up early today." She teased "What's the occasion?"

"Very funny." He said sarcastically "Why are you up so early?"

"I'm always up early."

In truth she just didn't want to be left behind, so she got up before everyone.

"Right. When everyone wakes up we can go to the kitchen for breakfast." He said.

"Alright, see you then." She said as she closed the door.

When he got back to his room he noticed there was a note from the King taped to the front of the door. 'I must not have seen this before' he thought. Quickly Sora read the note to himself.

"Sora, wake whoever is still asleep and hurry to the Gummi Garage and wait for me. Your first mission awaits you."

King Mickey.

Sora did as the King said. He woke Riku, Donald, and Goofy. Once all were awake, they grabbed a breakfast burrito from the kitchen and headed for the Garage. Sora and Kairi had a bacon, egg, and cheese (though she skipped on the cheese), Riku had egg and bacon, and Donald and Goofy weren't hungry. The five of them went to the garage to wait for instructions. As the group stood in the garage, the King walked in.

"Alright Your Majesty, where are we going?" Sora asked.

"The first world for us to check out is Twilight Town. We should head out as soon as we can." The King said.

"We might see Hayner, Pence, and Olette!" Kairi exclaimed.

"Alright then lets go." Sora said.

They boarded the ship to launch for the next world, Twilight Town.

With a short flight, and a bit of navigational trouble, They landed in Twilight Town.

"Nothing's changed." Riku commented once they were of the ship.

"Yeah, your right." Sora replied.

"Wow, I've never been out of the 'back alley' where Hayner, Pence, and Olette hang out." Kairi said stunned at the town's beauty.

They had landed near the 'Station Plaza'. Kairi marveled at the station tower.

"Hey, let's go see if Hayner and the others are at the 'Usual Spot'." Kairi asked sounding a bit cheerful.

"Alright, is that okay Your Majesty?" Sora asked.

"Fine by me. Maybe they can fill us in on what's been happening lately. Lead the way Sora" He said.

"Okay, it's this way." Sora responded.

Sora led them all through the 'back alley'. Of course Sora, Donald, Goofy, and the King knew the way to the 'Usual Spot', but Riku and Kairi didn't. After a short walk down the alley, they came across the familiar red curtain hanging behind the fence.

"This is it." Sora said, excited that he was going to see his old friends again.

When they walked through the door and under the curtain, they were disappointed when they say that nobody was there.

"C'mon guys, I'm sure if we wait they'll show up." Sora said.

"Yeah, he's right." Kairi agreed.

"Okay, we can stay." The King said.

It was only five minutes later that Hayner, Pence, and Olette walked in. They were eating they're favorite Sea-Salt Ice Cream and were looking at each other when they walked in.

"Whoa!" Yelled Pence, as he almost dropped his ice cream when he saw everyone.

"Hey! What are you guys doing here?" Hayner said, happy and curious at the same time.

"We came to visit." Sora said.

"As much as I would like to believe that, it looks to me like you all are making an army. There's what, seven of you." Hayner said.

"Kairi!" Olette was excited to see Kairi again.

"Hi Olette!" Kairi too was happy to be reunited with old friends.

"So, how's life been." Olette asked as she and Kairi went and sat down to talk and gossip.

"So, really, why are you here?" Pence asked.

"Well..." Sora began "Do you remember the Heartless and Nobodies?"

"Yeah. Don't tell me that's why you're here." Hayner said.

"Actually, that is why we're here." Sora responded.

"Oh, man!" So what's happening this time?" Pence asked.

As the King explained the situation to Hayner, Pence and Olette were sitting down with everyone else talking about recent events.

"So something else is controlling both forces now!?!" Hayner asked, partially stunned.

"I'm afraid so." The King finished.

"Well there's nothing happening here." Pence said.

"Just keep a lookout for anything suspicious." Sora told them.

"Olette. Can you come over here for a second?" Hayner asked.

"Yeah, sure."

"Olette, they're not here to visit, they're checking the worlds for Heartless and Nobodies. Should we tell them?" Hayner said pulling her away from everyone.

"Yeah we should." She responded.

"Sora" Hayner began "We each agreed with each other that if anything happened involving the Heartless and Nobodies, that we were going to help you fight. We have our own weapons and we've been training for almost a year now. We want to go with you guys.

Before Sora could say anything the King said "Only if you can. Let me see your weapons if you're sure about coming."

Hayner walked over to a long chest buried and hidden by a pile of magazines and opened it. From the chest he pulled out three swords. The first one was wide and about three feet long; he handed it to Pence. The second one was thin and was about four feet long; he handed it to Olette. The last one was wide and long, it wasn't as wide as the first one or as long as the second one.

"Gwarsh, did you make those?" Goofy asked.

"Yep, we bought some supplies from the Weapon Shop

and we each fashioned our own swords." Pence explained.

"Let me see." The King said "Welp, with a little magic you can use these against the Heartless and Nobodies. If you're sure that you want to come with us for a whole year I can add that magic."

"We're sure King Mickey." Hayner spoke for the whole group.

"Okay then, Goofy hold this." The King handed Goofy the first sword.

With some kind of magic, the blade of the sword flashed a bright white.

"Whoa." Pence said as the King handed him his sword.

"Do mine next!" Olette wanted to see the blade flash again.

"Okay." The King said giving Goofy the second sword.

The blade flashed.

"Cool." She said, clapping and jumping up and down like an excited little girl.

"Here you go Your Majesty." Hayner said, handing the King his sword.

The blade flashed.

"Okay, since there's nothing happening here we should head out for the next world, are you three ready?"

"Yes, Your Majesty." They said with a quick bow.

"Let's head back to the ship then." Riku said.

"We're actually gonna fly in a ship." Olette asked.

"Yeah, is that okay?" the King asked.

"Yeah, it's just kind of exciting cause we've never flown before." She said.

"Well that's okay, but before we go you'll need to pack your clothes and anything else you want." The King told them.

"Yes, Sir!" they answered.

Only ten minutes later, they came back with they're bags.

"Are we all set to go?" the King asked.

"Yes, Your Majesty." They answered.

"Good, then let's head out." Sora said.

As they all went to the ship Sora asked "So Your Majesty, what world are we headed to now?"

"We should head to the Land of the Dragons next." the King said.
