Clubbing, Prologue, Chapter 1 & 2
Wow! Now THIS was a fun story to write. It's not finished really, but there may be more to come later. Just another story I thought I should throw up on the site to see what people think about it.
Clubbing
Jake Mars - The main character. Quiet and reserved, Jake is the essential inner child, with a tendency to get lost in his thoughts and over think even the most basic situations. His talents lie in management and wise long term decisions, but dealing with the moment can often frustrate and befuddle Jake. He has wavy brown hair that he keeps short with little to no beard. Jake is shorter than most guys, about five six, and a light weight at only 168 pounds.
Bryan Faolain - Part of an old Irish family of immigrants who brought their unusual curse to America when they migrated there many years ago. Bryan is a giant of a man, seven and three inches, and weighs in at around 367. Bryan is naturally muscular and has no real need to work out much to keep his impressive physique. Bryan pretends to be calm and in control, but inside he is usually an inferno of emotions, mostly rage, and at times his calm veneer is shattered by his true feelings. Bryan has dark red hair that grows wildly if not kept short. He constantly shaves to keep off a perpetually thick beard that would take over his face if not kept in check.
Morison Russo - An old Italian tailor who has mastered both the business and the art of making fine clothing. He is an old friend of the Mars family and has made countless coats and jackets for them. His wife is a master seamstress as well and they both gained fame and wealth in their youth for designing clothes for their wealthy clients. Mori is usually calm and calculative, but he is prone to fits of shouting in his native language. His wife, Nicolette , or Nana is a blustery woman, but unlike her husband is much calmer in times of stress and trouble.
Vicky Hansen - A friend of Jakes through school, Vicky is also quite well off through her family's connections. Unlike Jake, who strives to be self sufficient, Vicky flaunts her parent's wealth and partakes in every luxury or vice their money can buy her. While in truth Vicky is a shrewd young lady, her tendency to act out and be crazy outshines her better qualities.
Garret Dunne - A friendly cab driver who claims to be a friend of Bryan's. In truth they know each other quite well, and Garret is one of the many men in Bryan's tightly knit social group. Garret is told by Bryan to keep tabs on Jake and to make sure he travels safely around town. Garret really is a cabby though and can't be available all the time to drive Jake around. Usually though he is only a quick phone call away and, like all of Bryan's friends, he has a tendency to catch Jake right when he would otherwise get into trouble. Garret has dark, bushy, red-brown hair with a slight curl to it. Garret usually has an almost full beard when others see him as a cabby, but he swears that he shaves every morning.
Prologue
An ocean of bodies writhed to the beat of heavy techno music. Even from the back of the club Jake could feel the steady vibration of the ear splitting musical cacophony. Maybe it was the unending crowd of people, or maybe it was the feeling of being crammed into such a small place with so many people. Whatever it was, he just wasn't feeling that infamous clubbing spirit. When some of his college friends had suggested coming here Jake thought it would help take his mind off his problems, but all it did was make him feel even more self conscious.
One hour into his first clubbing experience and Jake found himself sitting alone at a couch near the entrance. A steady stream of people were coming and going past the muscular bouncers, and through the club doors. It must have been the occasional puffs of fresh air that had attracted him to this particular couch, but the view of the huge muscle bound men working the doors didn't hurt much either.
Jake had known he was gay for years, but he had always been too nervous to ask another guy out. Sure there had been some flirts, and even a few shy romances, but he had always considered himself too old fashioned for a one night stand. His parents had never cared much about Jake's sexual preferences regardless. Jake's dad had been a successful businessman in his youth; after he had acquired enough money to live comfortably with his wife they decided to try and have kids. In truth, Jake had been more of an unexpected surprise than a planned out child.
Being raised in a liberal household taught Jake the value of hard work and strict budgets. Unlike most college students his age he was already working as an online consultant for a large corporation. He made enough to live comfortably by himself, and to pay what school expenses his scholarships didn't cover. It was a lonely life though, and more often than not Jake entertained the thought of finding a nice guy to settle down with. Maybe even for the rest of their lives? Perhaps that was why Jake had agreed to go to the club in the first place?
One guy in particular seemed to catch Jake's eye as he watched the bouncers police the crowds of people coming into, and out of, the club. The guy was oddly tall compared to his fellow bouncers. Judging from the way he loomed over them he had to be well over seven feet tall! He was extremely well muscled too. He had that stereotypical heavy brow and square jaw you would expect on a man that large. The tight blue shirt he wore was stretched over his bulging pecs and biceps with the word SECURITY written across the front. He had dark red hair that looked a little bushy despite being cut pretty short. All in all he was a pretty handsome guy, but he sure didn't look gay.
Jake didn't realize he was staring until the guy happened to turn away from the line of people at the entrance to the club. By some crazy happenstance the guy spotted Jake sitting alone on the couch across from the entrance to the club. Jake quickly looked away and pretended to check his phone. He could barely see the damned thing in all the glare from the flashing lights over on the dance floor. It must have been a pretty bad cover up because when Jake glanced back up to see if the guy was still looking at him he realized he had just blown his cover.
A soft sigh of relief escaped from Jake's lips as an angry person at the entrance to the club distracted the mountain of a man from looking at him. Jake made a mental note not to stare at the bouncers anymore. He didn't want to get the wrong sort of attention.
After about a half-hour later Jake was staring out at the throngs of people writhing to the music. By this point of his evening Jake was entertaining the thought of leaving without his friends, but he thought that would be in pretty poor form, and he didn't want them to worry about him... not that they were worrying about him now, but he didn't want to inconvenience them. "Hey kid" someone said in a very deep voice, "The party is out there. What are you doing sitting by yourself?"
Jake looked up from his view of the dance floor and at whoever had just spoken to him. His eyes settled on a large pair of legs standing in front of him. Jake's eyes traveled up and up as he took in the man standing before him. Blue shirt, SECURITY, large pecs, stubbly beard, square jaw, scruffy red hair, and two surprisingly concerned eyes. Yup, it was him alright! Mr. SECURITY was standing beside Jake's couch looking down at him with a concerned expression.
"I'm sorry" Jake said reflexively and flinched as the words escaped his mouth. He silently cursed as he took his brain off auto pilot.
Mr. Security smiled slightly at the apology, "You're not from this part of town are you kid?" He said in the same deep, sexy voice as before. Jake thought he detected an almost grating quality to the guy's voice; almost like he spoke with a soft growl to his tone.
"Ah... no," Jake said and blushed as he realized he must not look much like the clubbing type dressed in casual slacks and a polo shirt. Thank god Jake had left his tie at home after he had gotten in from class. "Not really I mean... I don't come here often."
Once again Jake got a soft chuckle from the giant. At least he seemed pretty good natured. That probably meant Jake wasn't going to get beaten up or kicked out... at least he hoped that's what it meant. "I thought you smelled too clean," the guy replied, "that, and you don't look much like the type we get in here."
Jake got the 'look' comment just fine, but what was with smelling clean? Was there a dirty smell? Did the guy mean Jake's deodorant? In fact, Jake didn't think he was wearing deodorant, which made him feel a little self conscious. "Um... thanks... I guess"
There was a brief moment where Jake thought he should have said more, but the giant beat him to it. "I'm about to get off my shift in a while," the guy said casually. "I know this great place right across the street if you wanted to get some coffee, maybe something to eat?"
It took a moment for Jake to register what the guy had just said. Had he just asked Jake out... like kinda on a date out? Or maybe not a date, but like some kind of random socializing thing? "Sure...", Jake surprised himself as he spoke, "...that sounds nice"
Did it really sound nice, or was Jake just too surprised to say no? It wasn't every day someone just walked up to him and asked him to go get coffee. On second thought, this was sounding a lot like a date thing or least a come on. Did coffee count as a come on, or was it just convenient bait for later coming on-ing? "Sweet!" The guy said and stuck his hand out all awkwardly, "I'm Bryan"
"Jake." Jake replied as he accepted the man's hand and was briefly shaken by his new acquaintance. When his hand was released Jake fought the urge to cringe. This guy had a grip!
"I'll be right back," Bryan said before he made his way back towards the entrance to the club and then into a door Jake hadn't noticed before. It had SECURITY written on it in the same bold white letters as the shirts worn by the bouncers.
Could Jake even leave without one of the other bouncers seeing him anyways? Bryan looked like a nice guy, but Jake didn't want to make him angry. What if he wanted to have sex? Jake blushed at the thought of what Bryan must look like under his black work pants. "Isn't it a little early to be thinking about that?" Jake said to himself.
"Thinking about what?" A familiar voice asked.
Jake had naturally stood up after Bryan had left, but he wasn't expecting the man to come back that fast. And how had he snuck up on Jake like that. "Oh!" Jake said in surprise, "I was just... thinking out loud," he said and played the comment off.
"Oh, I see," Bryan said and smiled as he put a massive hand on Jake's shoulder.
The sensation of being led around like a child made Jake blush as he was directed through the crowd of people and towards the door. Like mosses parting the red sea Bryan seemed to possess that natural talent for walking through crowds of people without bumping into them, or knocking something out of their hands. Naturally he extended that talent to the man who he was guiding as well. Before Jake knew it they were at the entrance to the club. "Play nice Bryan!" One of the bouncers shouted.
"Knock it off guys!" Bryan said and waved to his co-workers.
The comment seemed to hang in Jake's mind as he was led across the street in an almost dream like fashion. Apparently Bryan was just as good at crossing traffic as he was crowded rooms. It wasn't until the gallant giant opened the door to the small diner across the street from the club that Jake broke out of the trance of being guided by Bryan's touch. "Oh, thanks," Jake said as he walked through the door and into the classical looking eatery.
"I got your jacket." Bryan said as he stepped through the door and Jake noticed that he did indeed have Jake's jacket draped across his muscular arm.
"Oh! Thanks," Jake said as he watched Bryan walk through the rows of booths and scoot into a particularly large booth in the back. How had he known it was Jake's jacket? Now Jake was both embarrassed and confused. Embarrassed because he had absentmindedly left his own garment in Bryan's work place, and confused at how the man knew it was his in the first place!
Jake plopped into the seat across from Bryan and smiled at the middle aged woman who walked up to them from the direction of the open style kitchen that sat across the bar in the front of the diner. "Who's your little friend Bryan?" She asked and gave Jake a pleasant smile.
"This is Jake," Bryan said and gestured needlessly to the man sharing the booth with him. "We met at work." Bryan added.
"Hmm?" The lady said as she scribbled on her notepad, "he doesn't look like the type to be in that sort of place." She said as she glanced up from her notepad to look Jake over.
"I know" Bryan said and chuckled, "that's why I brought him over here."
"You want the usual?" she asked.
"Yup."
"And what will Jake be having?"
Jake was about to speak, but Bryan beat him too it. "I'm thinking he'll want two eggs over easy and a small bowl of chili."
"What to drink?"
"Water with lemon and a cup of coffee."
"I'll have that right up," She said and smiled as she walked away and towards the cook waiting across the bar.
"That's Ruby," Bryan said and smiled at the lady as she started calling out their order. "She always works the late shift here."
Jake was about to make a casual comment when he suddenly realized Bryan had just ordered two of his favorite foods. "How did you know I liked my eggs over easy?" Jake asked.
"Just a lucky guess I suppose," Bryan said and smiled mysteriously. "So what brings a guy like you to this side of town?"
"Well..." Jake said and started to tell Bryan about his night. Talking about the club led Jake into talking about college. College was interrupted by the arrival of food, but Jake found himself talking about his parents after that. By the time the food was gone Jake had started into a rant about his job which turned into an expose on his current situation in life. It wasn't until Jake had pretty much finished his whole life story up until sitting in that very same diner with Bryan that he happened to look down at his watch and catch the time. "Oh my!" Jake said softly as he looked at his watch. The big hand was pointing up at the number twelve and the little fat one was pointing straight at three. "It's sure getting late!"
Bryan smiled like he had done countless times that night when Jake would make a good point and give him a moment to make a comment or ask a question. "I guess we lost track of time."
"I suppose so..." Jake said as he considered the comment. How could you lose track of time anyways? Maybe Bryan had meant to say that Jake had just spilled his whole life story to him in the space of a single late night dinner conversation. Jake was considering if that was a sign of talent, or just plain pathetic, when Bryan interrupted his thoughts.
"I could walk you to your car if you want. It's a pretty dangerous neighborhood around here after dark," he stated and Jake thought he detected a slight increase in the level of growly-ness in Bryan's voice. Maybe it was his imagination.
"Um, no," Jake said softly, "I was supposed to get a ride from my friends... the ones I went to the party with."
"You could come crash at my place," Bryan said innocently. "I live a few blocks from here."
Up until now the entire evening had seemed to be looking up, but now Jake found himself in a terribly awkward position. On one hand he had the amazingly nice man sitting in front of him offering to let him sleep over for the night. On the other hand Jake had the cost of a night cab and the prospect of a very lonely night. It was hard to look up into Bryan's handsome face and not think he was some sort of rapist, or maybe even a serial killer. He did have a sort of dangerous air to him, but he seemed so honest and nice. The skeptic in Jake wanted to say no, but for once in his life the dreamy eyed boy in Jake forced him to say yes.
"That would be nice," Jake said and smiled.
Oh wow, nice, it would be fucking awesome! Just thinking about what Bryan looked like under that shirt was making Jake more than a little light headed. "Well then," Bryan said as he stood up and Jake mindlessly followed suit, "We'd better get going!"
Bryan did that awesome thing where you hold up someone's jacket and help them into it. The whole affair just felt so natural that Jake didn't even notice Bryan pulling out his wallet and leaving a wad of cash on the table. "Night Ruby!" He called out as he walked by the bar and it's two inhabitants.
"You boys stay out of trouble!" Ruby said in a very motherly voice.
"Will do," Bryan said back and jostled Jake as he put his arm around him, "Say something Jake!" He whispered.
"Have a pleasant evening!" Jake said and nodded politely as Bryan held the door open for him. Ruby nodded and did a casual one handed wave as if to say "goodbye strange little man."
Jake shivered as soon as he got outside. "You should have worn a thicker jacket," Bryan said and pulled him close beside him.
The giant was surprisingly warm. His arm wrapped around Jake's shoulder and held him close to his side. As they walked Jake started talking about random stuff like what companies his dad owned and where he had worked as a consultant. Bryan asked the appropriate questions like, dose your dad own the company you work for? And how did you get such a nice job at such a young age? Bryan even made jokes in the right place. They were funny too.
Jake was laughing when they turned off the side walk and towards a generic apartment building. It was a little run down, but there were some obvious attempts to hide the general wear and tear. In a way the place almost had a quaint homey feeling too it. Jake had always wondered what the inside of these apartment buildings looked like anyways. "Wow," Jake said as Bryan unlocked the door to his apartment and led Jake inside. "It's certainly cozy."
Jake didn't see the slight flinch on his host's face as Bryan helped him out of his jacket and hung it on one of those old fashioned peg board things people nail to wall beside their doors. The apartment was a strictly three room affair with a bed and bath situated just beyond the tiny little kitchen. There was evidence of general living left around the apartment, but nothing Jake would have considered messy or gross. The living room had a large couch separating it from the rest of the front room. Instead of a big screen TV situated in front of the couch there were bookcases filled to bursting with all sorts of books. Everything from westerns to biographies were placed on the shelves in what looked like alphabetical order based on the author and then the title of the book. "This is quite a collection" Jake said as he looked through the books and recognized a few authors and names.
"Thanks," Bryan said as he emerged from the bed room with a pillow and a blanket.
"Oh, thanks Bryan!" Jake said as he watched the man situate the blanket on the couch and then fluff the pillow.
"For what... oh this is for me Jake." He said and laughed. "I wouldn't ask you to sleep on my couch when you're my guest like this!"
"Oh," Jake said and blushed. "It's really all right. I don't mind couches." Especially not couches that large. Jake could have fit one and a half of himself on that couch.
Bryan laughed as he reached down and pulled his shirt off over his head. Jake swooned at the sight of his torso as it came into view. Instead of abs though, Jake saw a thick carpet of straight dark red hair layered across Bryan's stomach and chest in a strange pattern. The carpet spilled over Bryan's shoulders, onto his back, and down his arms. Jake thought he could almost comb the hair if he wanted to. The thought made him blush. "I'll be fine out here," Bryan said as he walked over to his guest.
Jake felt his shirt lifting up and over his head, briefly interrupting his view of Bryan's furry torso. As soon as he could see again Jake got an eye full of his host's muscular chest. Beneath the dense carpet of hair Bryan had thick slabs of muscle that caused the hair above them to dip and sway like furry armor over his muscular torso. Jake could almost count the six abs on Bryan's stomach, and maybe another two below his belt line. A particularly dense patch of hair bristled playfully from around Bryan's belly button and down into his pants. It was like a little red carpet leading towards unseen treasures. Jake blushed at his own creative lewdness.
Before he knew it Jake was being led through the kitchen and into Bryan's bed room. Somehow, as Jake looked around the room, Bryan managed to get him out of his pants and up onto the large queen sized bed. "Are you sure you're going to be ok?" Jake asked as he watched Bryan mess with the pillows.
"I'm a big boy Jake," he said and smiled.
Yes you are! Jake thought back.
"I think I can handle one night alone on the couch."
The alone part stuck in Jakes head. He suddenly realized Bryan wasn't coming onto him or anything like that at all. Where was the whole raunchy sex and all that jazz? Jake honestly felt just a little cheated. Bryan did pull the thick comfy covers back for Jake to slip inside. "Sleep tight Jake," he said as he pulled the covers up to Jake's shoulders. "I'll be right outside if you need something."
"Oh, alright." Jake said as he suddenly realized how sleepy he was. That was sure damn fast Jake? So much for being sexy!
"Don't let the bed bugs bite!" Bryan said as he turned to leave and flipped the light out on his way.
There weren't really bed bugs were there?
Chapter 1
A soft sizzling sound, like the sound of bacon frying in a pan, distracted Jake from his light mid-morning slumber. The warmth of the bed, and the strong manly smell of its owner, lulled Jake back into a light sleep. It wasn't until Jake smelled the bacon, along with the pleasant smell of coffee, that he finally decided to get up. There was a large shirt laid out alongside Jake's pants for him to wear on the dresser across from the bed. Jake figured Bryan must have put them there because he didn't really remember what had happened to his pants before he went to bed.
Jake had the fuzzy feeling you get when you go to bed too late and wake up late in the morning. He wasn't sore in the right places to have had sex last night, so he assumed he hadn't been raped while he slept. Jake didn't think there were any drugs that could make you rape someone else and not remember it the next day, so that option was out too. "Morning sleepy head," Bryan said as Jake yawned and stretched on his way into the kitchen. Despite the humble kitchen appliances that decorated the kitchen it seemed that Bryan had good taste in pots and pans. Sturdy was a good word for most everything the man had around his house, but that was probably a good thing when you are as big as Bryan was.
"Morning," Jake said and smiled at the giant as he flipped bacon at the stove. "Bacon and eggs?" Jake asked.
"I cook every morning," Bryan said as he pulled two thick slabs of meaty pork from the pan and placed it on a plate for his guest. Next he plopped two eggs over easy down beside the thick bacon and handed Jake the plate. "What's another mouth to feed?"
"Awe, I don't eat much," Jake said lightheartedly with a friendly smile and a nod of thanks for the food.
"I noticed that," Bryan said and laughed.
Once the rest of the food was done Bryan sat on the other side of the large bar that separated the kitchen from the living room. Jake apologized for taking up Bryan's bed, but his host was too gracious to accept any form of payment for the night. "Isn't there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Jake asked.
"I'm working another shift at Luna's tonight." Bryan said and Jake distantly remembered that had been the name of the club he had gone to last night. "I get off a little earlier, so maybe we could meet up again for another night out?"
"What time should I meet you there?" Jake asked.
"I get off at 11:00." Bryan said and frowned. "But you might want to come earlier than that. I don't want you walking around that area by yourself."
"I'm a big boy Bryan, I can take care of myself." Jake repeated what Bryan had said the night before and took a sip from his coffee. The look on Bryan's face was both cute and priceless as he had his words turned against him.
"I still don't want you to be out alone in such a rough neighborhood." Bryan said firmly. Jake sensed that slight growl in his voice again. Had he struck a nerve?
"I'll be careful," Jake replied.
The morning was spent rather casually. They talked for a while longer about their jobs and work. Jake was surprised to hear that Bryan had been a cop up until a year ago. Apparently he still did small jobs for the local police stations on the side, and used the extra income to support himself. Jake asked if that made him a private detective, but Bryan just laughed at the comment and didn't answer it directly. He did show Jake his badge. In a way it made Jake like him even more. Thinking of Bryan in a sexy cop uniform made him blush.
Eventually the morning was over and Jake apologized for keeping Bryan from his day for so long. There were things to be done before Jake would be able to go out again for a late night so he politely excused himself. Bryan insisted on calling a cab and walking his guest downstairs once it arrived. "So..." Jake said before he stepped into the car. "I guess I'll see you again tonight?"
"Sure thing," Bryan said and pulled Jake into a hearty muscular hug. "Take care Jake," the giant said as he held the door open and shut it for him once Jake was situated.
During the long cab ride back to his apartment on the other side of town Jake started to think about his host. Bryan didn't seem to have many nice things, but it seemed odd to Jake that he didn't wear a jacket. "Could you stop by Morison's Tailoring?" Jake asked the cabby who nodded. It was a mile out of the way and Jake would have to really tip the guy for being so nice.
Uptown was always so nice this time of year. There was a natural ridge around the whole city and most of the more prominent shops and malls were situated along the higher ground. Not only was there a great view of the city down below them, but the real-estate values had always been better up here. Morison's was an old coat shop Jake had visited countless times in the past. He was always needing a new coat made or an old favorite mended. "Jake Mars!" an elderly man announced loudly as soon as Jake walked through the doors.
"Morison Russo!" Jake said excitedly as his old friend and owner of the tailor shop charged forward to sweep him into a hug.
"I was just thinking about that summer coat I did for your father a few months ago," Mori said casually as he put his arm around Jake's shoulders and led him through the shop and towards his office. The tailor paused long enough to turn to one of his associates and say something loudly in Italian. "How did he like it?" Mori asked.
"He wore it to the big business expo in Dallas! He told me that his friends were jealous that he had gotten it so quickly." Jake said and chuckled as Mori seemed to light up at the compliment.
"Fast is my middle name Jake!" Mori said excitedly.
"No it's not," Jake said and laughed, "your middle name is Alberto!"
Mori cursed in Italian, but Jake knew he was just joking. "So what brings you to my shop Jake my boy, and why are you wearing a tent under your jacket?"
Jake laughed and asked if he could buy a shirt from Mori, but the tailor insisted that he take one for free. After removing the shirt Jake handed it to his old friend who regarded it with some curiosity. "It belongs to a new friend of mine," Jake explained. "I want to get him a jacket. Something functional and stylish. Maybe even like those trench coats you see detectives wear." Jake explained.
Mori whipped out his measuring tape and sized up the shit. "You friend is quite large yes? Over seven feet tall, and a good deal more muscular than most men that tall," Mori said as he investigated the shirt.
"You can tell all that from one shirt?" Jake asked in awe.
"That and so much more my boy." Mori said as he plucked a hair from the shirt. "What's this?" he asked curiously.
"It's probably one of his hairs." Jake said casually, noting the coppery sheen to the thick red hair.
"No," Mori said and frowned. "This is fur my boy," he replied. "Canine fur... maybe even wolf." Mori mumbled to himself more than Jake. "This friend of yours, does he have a dog, or work at a zoo?" Mori asked.
Jake laughed, "I don't think so."
"Hmm? Very interesting indeed." Mori said and for once Jake was a little surprised by how he was acting. Mori had been friends with Jake's family for longer than Jake had been around. He was an extremely intelligent and shrewd man. It was odd for him to act like this when Jake was in the middle of asking him to make a coat. "You'll be wanting something leather right? Maybe a red color to match his hair?"
Jake nodded at Mori and let the man brain storm. "Maybe something casual, but sturdy. Fashionable, but functional yes?"
"Rocket launchers and a gun holster might be handy too." Jake said jokingly and earned a glare from his friend.
"When exactly do you need this by?" Mori asked as he opened a small book on his desk and started looking through figures.
"Some time tonight, before ten I would guess" Jake said casually.
"T... ten tonight!" Mori gasped.
"I would really appreciate it Mori." Jake said and pulled out his wallet. "I could even pay you in advanced. How does a thousand sound? That should cover it pretty well I think."
Jake was used to throwing his money around, but honestly a thousand was hardly a lot to spend on a custom coat by Mori Russo. If it hadn't been on such a short notice Jake could have probably paid half that. Maybe he was asking a lot, but he knew Mori thrived on challenges like this. "No, no, no" Mori said as he settled on a figure in his book. "I have the perfect fabric in stock already, and I could get my people working on it right away." Mori said, "I think eight fifty would do."
"Than I guess you're getting a nice big tip then, because I already wrote a thousand on my check." Jake said as he finished filling out the bank note in his hand.
Mori frowned at his friend and customer. "This man must mean a lot to you for you to be spending money on him like this. When were you going to tell me about him?"
"We just met last night." Jake said bluntly. "I spent the night at his house."
Mori gasped and put his hand on Jake's shoulder. "He had better not have hurt you Jake. I'll send my boys after him if he did!"
Jake laughed at the thought of Mori attacking Bryan with his tape measure and scissors. As he thought about it, those scissors did look awfully big. Maybe Mori wasn't the type to be messed with seeing as he kept those things on him all the time... "It's not what you think," Jake said absently. "We didn't even do that Mori!"
Mori grunted his displeasure. "I suppose he deserves a coat for being such a gentleman," he said gruffly, "but watch this one Jake, and you let me know if he breaks your heart. Wait till I tell Nana about this one!"
Jake cringed at the thought of Mori's wife learning about his new friend. She had tried to set him up with some well-to-do Italian boys when Mori had first told her about Jake's preferences. As appreciative as Jake had been of her efforts, he had only attended the dates out of kindness, and not because he was actually looking for a man. "I'm sure she'll have something to say about it." Jake knew she would.
Mori shook his head as he stood and led Jake back through the shop. He was in work mode now, but Jake knew he would want to talk for a while. Mori asked about Bryan and how their night had gone. Jake obligingly told his old friend about the entire night and then the next morning up until now. Mori also noted that Luna's was in a bad neighborhood and that Jake would be wise to heed Bryan's advice to come early. With that in mind Mori doubled his efforts and like magic the coat was taking shape before Jake's eyes.
The fabric was a soft sturdy cotton on the inside, and a rich earthy red leather on the outside. Mori sewed pads onto the shoulders and other places where there would be rough wear and tear on the coat. Jake was glad the master tailor was so efficient and experienced in his craft. Jake figured this coat would have to be tough to be worn by a guy like Bryan. By the time the jacket was half done Jake had exhausted his conversation with Mori and politely excused himself. "You will tell me more about this man won't you Jakey?" Mori said in his fatherly voice he had used on Jake and his own sons back when they had played together in their youth.
"You know I will Mori," Jake said and smiled at his old friend.
"I'll be finished before eight." Mori stated, "You be sure to pick up early and head out before it gets too dark."
Jake nodded and waved to the overprotective tailor. "Oh Mori," Jake said before he turned to leave. "Thanks so much... for the coat... on such short notice."
"It's my pleasure," Mori said and smiled as one of his best customers turned to leave. It was hard for the old tailor to see Jake dating like this. Even though his own sons had been dating girls forever Jake had always seemed so quiet and reserved. It just wasn't like him to go out on a limb like this. Mori just shrugged and turned back to the coat. He would have his work cut out for the rest of the day.
Jake was surprised to find that the cabby was still waiting for him outside. He had paid him before he left to go into the shop and he half expected the man to be gone. "Where to next?" The guy asked as Jake smiled and hopped into the back of the car.
"436 on the corner of Oak and Ridgeway." Jake replied as he buckled his seatbelt. Jake hadn't noticed it before, but the cabby was a young guy around his own age, or maybe he even a few years older. He had thick brown bushy eyebrows that framed his eyes. Jake thought those eyes looked slightly familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on exactly why. The man was quiet, except when Jake would make casual conversation. He must have caught Jake's last name from somewhere because he kept calling him Mr. Mars.
"You heading back out tonight Mr. Mars?" The cabby asked as he pulled up to Jake's apartment.
"Yes," Jake said cheerfully, "After seven, back to Morison's and then to Luna's downtown"
"Ah, Luna's huh?" The cabby replied. "My friend works there. You know Bryan Faolain?"
"Oh?" Jake said as he flipped through his wallet and extracted the cost of the cab and a substantial tip. "I just met him last night," Jake replied.
"He's a nice guy for calling me like this," the cabby said and smiled as Jake hopped out of his car. "You tell him Garret treated you well for me. Eh?"
Jake laughed. "Garret huh? Sure thing sir," He said as the cabby nodded.
"See you at seven Mr. Mars."
In all his years of living in a big city Jake had never had a cabby offer to come back to drive him again. Jake was always a good tipper, but this guy seemed more friendly than usual. He had even told Jake his name! Odd for the usually aloof cab drivers from the downtown area. Quite odd indeed.
The rest of the afternoon was spent getting ready for his date tonight. Jake called a few of his friends to tell them where he had run off to last night. They were both surprised and relieved that he had been alright, but mostly they were curious about this guy Jake had met. "So he was a bouncer huh?" Vicky Hansen, one of Jake's friends from school and the orchestrator of his night last night, said over the phone. Jake held the phone with his shoulder as he looked through his large walk in closet for an appropriately casual, but nice looking shirt. "Gwad Jakey, that's hot! What's he look like?"
Jake proceeded to describe Bryan to the best of his ability to Vicky over the phone. "... but you know me Vicky." Jake said as he spotted the perfect shirt for the occasion. It was a plain light blue button up shit that was meant to be worn un-tucked. It would go great with one of Jake's favorite dark leather jackets. "I don't know how serious it is when you don't even have sex on your first night over at someone's house."
"You're the freak Jake, not him," Vicky said casually. "I would have fucked him to death if only half of what you said about him is true," she joked. At least Jake thought she was joking. Vicky had a way of ruining her men with copious amounts of raunchy hot sex. There were some stories about her around campus, and they weren't always pretty or friendly.
"Well, we have another date tonight so I better start getting ready" Jake said casually.
"Good luck little man! Let me know if you score tonight!" Vicky said lewdly and promptly hung up.
Jake looked at himself in the large standing mirror beside the door to his bathroom. Jake's soft auburn hair was combed and washed with only a soft leave-in conditioner keeping it smoothed against his head. Jake had shaved when he took his shower that afternoon so his face was fairly smooth even a few hours after the shower. Jake elected not to wear cologne, or even deodorant. He didn't usually have problems with body odor. Bryan had told him he smelled clean, which made Jake think he preferred very little smelly stuff on his dates.
Instead of the slightly uptight outfit Jake had worn yesterday he decided to go a little more casual. Jake wore one of the many pairs of jeans he rarely used and a casual shirt that went well with the dark leather jacket he chose. The jacket was one of Jake's favorites and an old one Mori had made for him back when he first went to college. It was comfortable, and it made Jake's green eyes pop. At least that's what everyone told him.
Seven o'clock found Jake debating about his choice of belts. At first he had gone with a plain black belt, but he had decided to instead wear a more fancy silver belt buckle that went well with the jacket. Jake also switched out his watch for a silver and gold Rolex that his father had gotten for him a few years ago. Jake hardly ever wore the thing, but he had to admit that it looked sharp.
It was almost surprising to find Garret parked outside Jake's apartment ready to go as soon as Jake made his way down the front deck stairs and out onto the streets. "You look nice tonight Mr. Mars." Garret said as soon as Jake got into the cab. Did it look a little cleaner in here or was it just Jake's imagination?
"You can call me Jake," He said casually.
"Alright then Mr. Mars," Garret replied as he pulled out into traffic and towards Morison's.
On the way over Jake chatted with his driver. It seemed Garret and Bryan had known each other for quite some time. The way Garret talked about Bryan made Jake think he worked for him or something, but Garret insisted he was just a regular cabby. More than once Garret mentioned the other "friends" Bryan had, but he never named any names.
Mori was gone when Jake got to the shop, but the coat was done none-the-less. It looked magnificent, as usual, and Jake smiled as he watched the shop attendant pack it into a large leather box that matched the color of the jacket. It was pretty normal for Mori to pack his hand crafted goods in such opulent containers, but Jake swore the box looked brand new. Where had Mori found the time to make it, or even buy it? "Thank you for your business Mr. Mars." The attendant said as Jake took the box and nodded his farewell.
"That's an awfully nice box you got there Mr. Mars." Garret said as soon as Jake was back in the cab.
Jake chuckled as he passed it up to the cabby so he could peek inside. "I had it made for Bryan today. Sort of a thanks for being such a gentle man," Jake explained.
Garret whistled as he peeked into the box and promptly handed it back to Jake. "That looks expensive." he said softly. Jake thought for a second he detected a familiar growl to Garret's voice. It reminded him of how Bryan sounded when he talked.
"It was only a thousand," Jake said dismissively and missed the look of surprise on Garret's face.
Garret was politely quiet through the rest of the drive. Jake wondered if he had said something wrong, but when asked Garret just played it off on the traffic. The streets did look slightly busier than usual, but then again it was Sunday night. The buildings got noticeably shabbier as the cab made its way through the city and towards old downtown. Luna's was on the north side of the down town district which put it up right up against some pretty rough neighborhoods. Jake normally didn't go downtown like this, but he had to admit that there was a sort of excitement in the air. It was like walking on a razor's edge, with both sides of the blade promising possible danger. "You take care Mr. Mars." Garret said as he pulled up to Luna's. "Give me a call if you ever need a cab. I'll always be right around the corner if you need me," he said and handed Jake a business card.
"Will do." Jake said and passed Garret the cost of the total ride and a generous tip. "I'll be sure to put in a good word with Bryan. He has such reliable friends!"
Garret chuckled as Jake got out of the cab. "Just make sure you don't wonder around much Mr. Mars," he said through his window before pulling back into traffic and driving away. Jake decided he liked Garret even if he seemed a little strange. There was just something about the man that seemed off. It was the same thing that reminded Jake of Bryan, but he still couldn't quite put his finger on it.
Chapter 2
Inside Luna's was nothing like it had been the night before. For one there was no line at the door, and the loud music and bright lights from the night before were gone. A soft, almost casual, sound track permeated the club as Jake strolled past the bouncer who nodded him in as if he knew him. Last night Jake had missed the bar altogether due to the sheer number of people crowding the club's dance floor. But now it seemed to stand out on the back wall of the club. Jake made his way over to the bar and placed the rich leather box on the counter before he climbed up into the seat. "You must be Jake," the barkeeper said as he looked up from the glass he was polishing to glance at the only person sitting at his bar.
Jake was a little surprised that the guy knew him. Also, why did bartenders always polish glasses? Was it something to do with working at a bar, or did they just get bored sitting back there with all that alcohol and not being able to drink it. "Um, yea," Jake said and blushed as he looked at the guy.
In a word Jake would have said the guy looked handsome. He had a slightly shaggy brown-reddish goatee and thick stubble on the rest of his cheeks and chin. His eyes had a bright piercing quality just like Bryan's and Garret's. Could this be another of the 'friends' mentioned by Garret? It would make sense that Bryan would tell his buddies about Jake considering he had spent the night at his house. "I thought so," the man said as he broke a smile and turned to a bouncer sitting in a chair on the other side of the club. The man nodded and stood up as he turned to walk into the door beside him. It had the words STAFF ONLY written on it just like the door in the front of the club that said SECURITY. "Bryan said to let him know when you showed up. Maybe he'll stop worrying about you. Now that you're here."
After a few moments Bryan emerged from the door along with the other bouncer. He had a big goofy smile on his face as soon as he saw Jake sitting at the bar. Faster than Jake would have thought the giant rushed over to the bar and scooped Jake up into a rib cracking hug. "Jake!" He said as he squeezed and took a deep breath of the man in his arms, "I missed you!"
"You saw me less than seven hours ago!" Jake said and laughed as Bryan put him down and scowled.
"I couldn't get you out of my head," Bryan said softly and noticed Jake turning to the bar to get the brown leather box. "What's that?" He asked and tilted his head slightly as he watched Jake retrieve the box and then hand it to him.
"Just a little thank you gift for being such a gentleman," Jake said as Bryan opened the box and looked inside.
"Oh Jake..." Bryan said as he pulled the coat out. "You shouldn't have... this is... it's just." Bryan stuttered as he gingerly unfolded the custom made trench style coat and watched it fall open.
"It's handmade," Jake said casually. "A friend of my family is a master tailor and he couldn't say no when I asked him to make it for you." Jake explained.
Bryan pulled his arms into the coat and marveled at how perfectly it seemed to fit. "This is so nice," he said as he appreciated the rugged, yet elegant style of the leather. "I can't take this Jake," he said and looked first at Jake and then at the bartender. "It must have cost a fortune!"
"Only a thousand." Jake noticed the bartender scramble as he fumbled with the glass in his hand, almost dropping it once the words escaped Jake's lips. The commotion distracted him from the shocked look on Bryan's face.
"A... a thousand?" Bryan said in shock.
"Yea!" Jake said and laughed. "I paid nearly two grand for the jacket you saved last night! That was part of a collector's set my dad wanted made for his anniversary a few years back. I figured since you kept up with it so nicely that the least I could do is buy something nice for you."
"I... didn't know," Bryan stuttered, "but thanks," he said.
Jake was pleasantly surprised at how shocked Bryan was. It was nice to see him acting so out of place compared to his usual manor. "You're welcome," Jake said and turned to the bartender. "I think I might have something to drink... maybe a long island ice tea?"
Bryan wore the coat the whole time he talked with Jake at the bar. He had regained his usual authoritative and confident expression, but Jake couldn't help but admire how rugged the coat made him look. As they chatted Jake imagined Bryan wearing a uniform under the coat and talking to a cop like the detectives on TV. "My break's almost up." Bryan finally said and almost looked sad.
"I'll wait around the club until you get off" Jake said and took a sip of his drink. It was slightly stronger than he usually liked it, but the blend of alcohols was nearly perfect.
"See you in a little bit" Bryan said casually and bent down as he planted a kiss on Jake's cheek.
Jake was too stunned to do more than smile as Bryan turned to walk away. "He's been talking about you nonstop since he got here at two this afternoon." the barkeeper said and broke Jake out of his stunned stupor. "I'm Connor by the way," the barkeep said and offered his hand to Jake.
They shook briefly and started a casual conversation that lasted for a few hours. The club started to get busy at about nine. As more and more people poured in a feeling of unease gripped Jake. He almost felt better just knowing a few of the people who worked around the club though, but as more people came Connor got busy serving drinks and was unable to talk much to Jake. "Hey there handsome," an obviously drunk guy said as he leaned against the edge of the bar beside Jake. "Why don't you let me buy you a drink while we get to know each other better?" He said lewdly and leaned uncomfortably close to Jake.
The man smelled strongly of alcohol, particularly cheap whisky, but also of cigarettes. "I'm here with a friend" Jake said and leaned away from the guy.
"Where's your friend then?" The man asked.
"He's working," Jake said bluntly. "Over by the entrance."
It must have taken a while for the guy to process the information, because he paused for at least a minute before he spoke next. "So you're dating one of the bouncers huh?" He asked and smiled. "I bet you like em big, eh kid?"
Jake blanched at the man's rudeness. "I think I was just leaving actually." Jake said and stood up from the bar. He placed a twenty on the bar under his glass before turning away from the drunken man.
"Hey!" the guy shouted as Jake stood and left, "Hey I'm talking to you kid!" Jake hurried towards the front of the club and checked his watch. It was very nearly ten on the dot and he figured Bryan would be off in a few moments. Jake made his way to the entrance and stood around the couches for a while before he heard a familiar voice call out to him over the din of the crowd. "Hey punk!" The drunk man from before said as he pushed through the crowd, "hey, don't you walk away from me!"
Jake groaned as he looked away for somewhere to escape to. The closest rout away from the man was the exit door so Jake just hurried through the groups of people walking into the club and out into the cold night. Jake had remembered to keep his jacket nearby and he casually slipped it on as he emerged into the cold night air. One of the bouncers looked up from a group of kids trying to talk their way into the club just long enough to notice Jake walking out of the club.
It took a few minutes for the drunk guy to get through the crowds and out of the club. Jake kept hoping Bryan would show up and save him, but he was nowhere to be found. A quick glance down the road confirmed that the diner they had eaten in last night was only a block or so down the road on the opposite side from the club. Bryan, Garret, and Mori's warnings echoed in Jake's head as he looked down the darkened side walk. A quick glance behind him at the exit and the drunk man emerging from the doors made Jake decide to take his chances on the street.
He made sure to put his hands in his pockets and look down as he started walking away from the club. Jake was only half a block down the street from the club when he felt someone roughly reach out from behind to pull him into an alleyway. "I thought I told you to wait up you little faggot," the drunk man said and Jake knew it was him from the smell of his breath. "Too bad for you kid. I thought I might let you go if you showed me a good time, but me and my friends need some drinking money so I think I'll just settle on that watch and your belt buckle please.
Jake had just disappeared into the alleyway when Bryan emerged from the club. He looked around frantically as he burst through the doors. "Looking for that kid?" The bouncer asked and Bryan nodded to his co-worker. "He went that'a way," the man said and pointed down the street in the direction Jake had been walking.
"Thanks man," Bryan said and nodded to the other bouncer as he started in the direction of his missing date. Bryan took a deep breath and smelled the unmistakable scent of the missing young man, but also someone else. A soft growl rumbled up and out of Bryan as his keen ears picked up the slightest sound of someone talking half a block down from the club.
Jake hurried to pull his watch off and then his belt. He handed them to the drunk guy who smiled and passed them to the guys behind him. "That's a fucking Rolex man, and this buckle is fucking solid silver." The shadowed man replied as he accepted the goods from his drunken counterpart.
"Give us the jacket, and your wallet." Drunk man said.
Jake pulled his jacket off and handed it to the man. "My wallet is in the front inside pocket," he said and held his hands up.
The three men laughed as they handed the rest of the goods to the same guy. "Go take care of this," drunk man said and nodded to his other friend. "We'll have some fun with this little rich boy before we let him go," he said and grabbed Jake roughly.
Jake watched as the man with his things made his way out of the alley way and onto the streets. Not only did he have Jake's wallet, but he had his jacket too! Jake really liked that jacket! The watch was one of many Rolexes, and the buckle was nothing special, but the jacket he would miss.
There were bigger things to worry about right now though. Particularly the very hard bulge that the other man was rubbing against Jake as he pulled him up against him. "Where's your bouncer friend now you little prick?" He asked roughly and placed a dirty calloused hand on Jake's shirt. With one hearty rip the man tore open Jake's shirt, scattering the buttons and ripping the fabric to shreds. "I'm going to really enjoy this," the man said and pushed his disgusting tongue out to lick Jake's exposed neck.
Jake cringed as he smelled something new on the man's breath. It was like a pungent rotting odor that made Jake gag. Why didn't I listen to myself? Why did I ignore those little voices in my head? Jake asked himself. If he could have seen the man he would have noticed his elongated fang-like canines as they pushed out past his other teeth. But Jake didn't see them in the darkness of the alleyway. "Fuck!" the third man said and interrupted his friend. Something huge, like the size of a truck, grabbed the other man and promptly sent him flying past Jake and his captor into the darkness of the alley.
The man holding Jake could see just fine in the darkness, but Jake could only see the outline of the massive shape in the faint light from the street behind it. It had a distinctly humanoid shape, but obviously was much larger and much more muscular than any human could ever be. It's arms alone were as thick as Jake's whole body and apparently covered in thick shaggy fur. Jake could barely make out the pattern of the fur in the silhouette of the monster, but he could clearly see the two angry yellow eyes and the glint of light on the creature's very large fangs. Jake felt a cold chill of fear as the monster snarled savagely at Jake and the man holding him.
Drunk man made a strange hissing sound as he shoved Jake aside and lashed out with his hands. Jake hit the wall hard, but his eyes were glued to the drunk man as he apparently tried to claw at the furry monster between himself and the street. Once again the light from the street illuminated just enough of drunk man's silhouette for Jake to make out his wickedly long finger nails. Had he had nails like that when Jake saw him in the bar? Jake thought he would have remembered something like that if he had seen it.
The drunk man raked his claws across the face of the furry monster extracting a loud yelp and then a snarl from the monster. Jake wanted to watch the fight, but his eyes were forced closed as he began to silently prey for mercy. What the hell was going on? The two figures looked like monsters fighting in the dark of the alley! Where the hell had monsters come from? Less than thirty minutes ago Jake had been looking forward to another enchanting night with Bryan, and now he was cringing in dirt and trash as he listened to two monsters fight it out beside him.
When Jake finally opened his eyes he realized drunk man was fighting to get past the monster, and Jake was either abandoned or forgotten where he had fallen against the side of the building. The fight ended when drunk man leapt past the monster and into the street. He made the crazy hissing sound again as he took off down the street in the direction of the club. Jake was left alone in the darkness with the furry monster. It briefly turned to him and tenderly reached out to grab him.
Jake fought back the urge to scream in fear. It probably wouldn't help him much anyways. If he was going to die than at least he could die with some dignity! The monster seemed more concerned with Jake's shoulder where he had hit the side of the building and fallen against it. It must have been bleeding, or at least badly bruised judging by how much it hurt. A soft whine was the beast's only response to Jake's cringe of pain and fear as it touched him. As soon as the monster seemed satisfied that Jake wasn't injured it turned and in one leap it was half way up the side of the building. Eventually the monster disappeared from sight leaving Jake alone in the alley.
For a moment he couldn't move at all. Jake just stood there and held his shoulder in pain as he stared out at the lights across the street. A bright flash of lightning broke his vacant stare and the boom of thunder propelled him out of the alley and into the street. Jake's feet brushed by something as he walked out of the alley and he absently looked down in the darkness at a familiar leather coat. It can't be... was it Bryan's jacket? There beside the torn up coat was a familiar leather box as well! Now Jake was sure it was Bryan's coat, but how had it gotten so torn up?
Jake gathered the coat up and stuffed it into the box. The cold sting of rain forced Jake to look first at the distant lights of the club and then across the street at the diner. He picked the diner just to be safe.
The rain was just starting to come down hard as Jake pushed through the door and into the small restaurant. "Holy Jesus!" Ruby said and dropped the coffee cup in her hands when she saw and recognized Jake. "Is that you Jake?" she asked.
Jake nodded as he stumbled into the diner clutching the box to his chest. "God above boy!" Ruby said as she grabbed a few dish towels and rushed around the counter.
It wasn't until he was seated in the booth from the night before, and slightly dryer than he was when he first came in, that Jake caught his breath. He kept staring at the wet brown box as Ruby asked him over and over again if he was alright, or if he wanted to call an ambulance, or the police. Jake shook his head no at the thought of police getting involved. Sure he had been mugged, but how do you tell someone you were attacked by a rapist monster in an alleyway. You didn't tell them, that was what you did!
Jake was sipping his second cup of coffee when a commotion at the front door distracted him from the cup. A huge man in a police uniform walked through the door with an even bigger guy behind him. "Calm down Bryan! Ruby said he was here!" The cop said as he scanned the empty restaurant and spotted Jake in the corner.
Bryan roughly pushed past the police officer as he surged through the restaurant and towards his date. The look on Bryan's face was one of mixed rage and concern. He looked briefly at Jake's bloody shoulder and then at his still wet hair and torn shirt. Jake thought he was about to shout or something, but right about then Bryan spotted the box on the table and his expression changed. "I'm sorry Jake," he said and Jake swore he heard a rumbling growl in the man's voice. "Are you alright?"
Jake nodded bleakly and looked at the objects in Bryan's hands. In his right hand was a ragged, but familiar leather jacket. In his left hand was a soaked wallet. "Give the poor kid a break Bryan." The cop said as he walked up to the two. "He's obviously had a hard enough night without you making things any worse."
Brian actually growled as he turned to the cop. "Mind yourself," he said roughly and the cop held his hands up in self defense.
"I was just saying!" He said as he slipped past Bryan and towards the booth. "We'll need to fill out a police report, and maybe something for whatever else those guys took from you Jake." He said in a matter-of-fact voice that reminded Jake of how Bryan spoke.
Bryan deposited the wet jacket and the wallet on the next booth over from the one Jake was sitting in. He surprised Jake when he slid into the booth beside him and pulled him up against him. "You're cold," he said gruffly and watched the cop as he pulled out a note pad and a pen and joined the two at the booth.
"Now, I need you to tell me everything Jake. Start at the beginning of the night and lets go from there." The cop said.
It took nearly an hour for Jake to explain everything that had happened. He left out the part about the two monsters fighting in the alley. It was odd when the cop asked Jake if he had seen anything else or left anything out, but it was the look he gave Bryan and the slight smile that made Jake question the cop's motives. Jake was a little less surprised when the cop finally introduced himself as Sean Duffy and professed to be an old friend of Bryan's. How many 'old friends' did Bryan have?
Next up was Bryan, who told his side of the story more to Jake than the cop. He had been leaving the club when he saw the man with Jake's jacket. Apparently they had fought, which explained the ruined coat to an extent, and in the end Bryan had chased the guy until he had dropped Jake's jacket and wallet back, but not the belt and watch. Everything except the shredded coat seemed to make sense. That and the fact that none of this explained what the hell had happened in that alleyway. In a way though Jake was almost glad that nobody had seen the monsters fighting. He didn't want to have to explain that to anyone.
Bryan apologized over and over again for the ruined coat. Jake almost felt bad for him. It wasn't until Bryan stood up that Jake noticed he didn't have the same pants or shirt on that he had been wearing before. Jake just ignored it though, and pushed the thought to the back of his head. "I'll take it by Mori and have it mended along with my own jacket." Jake said and reached out for the box, but Bryan got it before him.
Sean gave them a ride back to Jake's apartment. Once again Jake was surprised that Bryan and his friend knew where he lived! He had never told Bryan or the cop his address. Jake pushed that thought too from his head as he was guided up the front steps of his deck and to the door. Jake quickly unlocked the door and led Bryan inside.
As usual he missed the expression of awe on Brian's face as Jake walked into the front room and switched the light on. Jake's front room was quite striking to those unaccustomed to the sheer size of his apartment. The front of the apartment was a huge open room with a loft over the kitchen in the back. The front wall was two stories tall with a huge open window that let in the light of the moon and stars, but also provided natural light to illuminate the house during the day. Bryan could have fit his whole apartment up on the loft alone. That didn't include the huge kitchen underneath, or the massive living room that served as Jake's front room. Jake had two different furniture sets and two TVs on either side of the room. Both couches looked like antiques and the other furniture looked expensive as well.
Bryan was equally amazed by the loft and the kitchen that it extended over. It looked like a small library up there with shelves lining the side walls and a comfy window seat complete with pillows on the back wall. Below the loft was a kitchen the likes of which Bryan had only dreamed of. If there was an appliance out there that was even remotely related to cooking it must have been in that ocean of a kitchen! Even from the front door Bryan counted no less than three different ovens and at least two ranges. Bryan had to pause and ask himself why someone with such a nice place would even think about sleeping in an apartment like what he had?
Jake strolled casually into the apartment and put his tattered jacket and Bryan's coat box on a sort of throne looking chair with a mirror on the back of the seat. Either it was the fanciest coat rack Bryan had ever seen, or it served some other purpose. Regardless, Jake didn't seem at all concerned with the state of his clothes or the look of shock and awe on his guests face. Bryan jumped slightly when the door shut behind him automatically. Jake chuckled at him before he spoke, "It does that if you aren't hasty in coming or going" Jake said cheerfully. "Well this is my place!" Jake said and turned in a circle as he gestured to the massive building around him. "It's not much, but it's home"
"Right," Bryan said as he looked around the place again.
"Are you going to stand in the doorway all night?" Jake asked and smiled at Bryan.
"Oh," Bryan said and stepped into the room and out of the entry way. Jake showed him around his apartment. Beside the huge middle room were two large wings that opened up into multiple other rooms. There was the huge master bedroom and the bath attached to it. Bryan swore he could fit his whole bedroom just in Jake's bathroom! The right wing of the house had two smaller rooms. One was an office/study and the other was a neatly arranged guest room. "I guess I'll be staying here tonight?" Bryan asked when he looked into the bedroom.
"Actually, I was hoping you wouldn't object to sleeping with me," Jake said softly and blushed when Bryan turned to look at him with a perplexed expression.
"It might help me feel..." Jake trailed off as he spoke. Less afraid of a giant wolf monster breaking into my house and eating me? He couldn't say that to Bryan. The man would think he was insane! "I'd feel safer if you would stay." Jake said and wished he was better with words.
"Is that a request or an invitation?" Bryan asked coyly.
Jake could honestly say he wasn't expecting Bryan to ask that way. "I guess it's both," Jake said and tried to look sexy. "I've never shared my bed before, or even had sex for that matter."
Bryan looked shocked, "But you're so... hot!" he said in shock.
"Promise to be gentle with me?" Jake said playfully and shrugged.
Bryan actually growled as he pulled Jake against him. "Do you really mean that Jake?" He asked. "There's no going back once we do this," Bryan said and tenderly held his dream man against his muscular body.
"What's that mean?" Jake asked in both mild curiosity and concern. He silently hoped Bryan didn't have AIDS or something terrible like that.
"Well," Bryan said and looked away from Jake. "If we have sex tonight... it would make you the one for me," he said and seemed to want to say more. "I knew when I first smelled you at the club that you were the one Jake, but I didn't think you would like me this quick. Especially after what happened tonight."
"You... smelled me?" Jake asked in confusion.
"Oh god yes," Bryan said and pulled Jake into a hug as he buried his face in Jake's neck and took a deep breath. "I smelled you long before I spotted you on that couch Jake." He continued. "I knew you were special then, and I know you are special now," Bryan explained.
"Special how?" Jake asked seductively.
Bryan smiled and struggled to form a comeback. "One of a kind, unique, special! Maybe even... perfect" Bryan said as his voice dropped down and he pushed his lips onto Jake's. The heat of the man's passion, and the raw sexuality of his kiss, melted Jake's playful defense in a heartbeat. "I'm not like other men Jake" he said softly as their lips broke apart. "I'm a monster"
"I thought you promised to be gentle" Jake whispered back. He was hoping Bryan was just being sexy and not seriously warning him about his sexual discrepancies.
"I would never hurt you Jake" Bryan said tenderly, "but what if you see something... weird?"
"Explain weird" Jake was trying to see where Bryan was taking this.
"Could we do it with the lights off? Just this one time?" Bryan asked. "I promise I'll explain it better in the morning"
"I promise I won't freak out" Jake said slyly. He was honestly intrigued by Bryan's request. Why would a hot stud like Bryan want to have sex with the lights off?
Thirty minutes later Jake found himself waiting, naked, in his bedroom with all the lights turned off. He had insisted they both shower before they did it. As he waited in the pitch black of his bedroom Jake heard Bryan turn the shower off and step out onto the floor. Jake would have LOVED to peek in at the giant, but he had promised to play by Bryan's rules tonight. The man flipped the lights out in the bathroom before he opened the door and made his way out into the room.
Even in the dimmest of light from the window Jake could make out the massive outline of his first partner ever. Bryan didn't look weird to Jake, but then again he couldn't see much of the man's anatomy. "Can you even see?" Jake asked.
"Perfectly" Bryan said in a low and distinctly growly voice, "and I like what I see"
Jake spread himself out on his massive California king sized bed. He had always thought the bed was a bit much, but now he was almost glad for the oversized mattress. Bryan started off by crawling onto the bed and towards Jake's exposed, and very aroused, manhood. Jake was a bit large for a guy his size, but then again thirteen inches was large for a guy Bryan's size! That didn't stop him from closing his mouth over as much of Jake's cock as he could take. His lusty movements worked Jake closer and closer towards his first ever blow job. Bryan almost smiled at the innocent gasps of pleasure coming from the man in his hands and mouth. Jake was cute even when he was being serviced like this!
The pressure, and pleasure, built slowly at first, but Jake was having problems holding himself back. He had jacked off before, but it was nothing like this! The heat, the intimacy! Bryan was either a natural or he had experience he wasn't talking about, because he was obviously an expert at this. Jake hollered as he lost control of himself and began to shoot his load into Bryan's mouth. The man didn't flinch like Jake expected. In fact, he seemed to almost savor the taste of Jake's seed in his mouth. "That... was amazing!" Jake said as soon as he had caught his breath. So far he hadn't seen anything weird at all!
"I'm glad you liked it," Bryan said and effortlessly flipped Jake over. "I'll go slowly Jake, you'll enjoy it, I promise." Jake was a little skeptical about that, but Bryan had promised to be gentle and he had a feeling that the man wouldn't break his promise easily.
Bryan started by lifting Jake up into a doggy style position. Next the giant positioned himself behind Jake and without much warning pushed the tip of his burning hot cock into Jake's virgin ass. Jake gasped at first, but he quickly got over the initial pain. Bryan soothed him as he patiently allowed Jake to adjust. It was strange though, Bryan's head seemed quite small. Was that what he had meant before? It didn't make sense for a man to say he was a monster when he had a small cock.
As if in response to Jake's thoughts Bryan began to slowly push into Jake's ass. As more and more cock was slowly and gently shoved into his ass Jake realized he had been very, very wrong. Bryan wasn't just big, he was massive! His cock had the strangest shape, almost seeming the thicken as it was pushed deeper and deeper into Jake. It wasn't until Bryan began to pull out that Jake realized how much cock he had just taken. It also seemed strange that Bryan didn't seem to need any lubrication. If Jake could have seen his partner's cock he would have realized he was leaking pre like a faucet! The slimy and slick pre-ejaculate did an excellent job of lubing up Jake's ass, but there was more to Bryan's special cum than just being plentiful and slick.
Jake gasped again as Bryan pushed in a little more roughly. This time it seemed like Jake took a little more of that never ending slab of meat. His ass was getting pretty beat up by the time Bryan started to really fuck him, but because of the unique property of his partner's cum Jake didn't feel a thing. Jake was finding it harder and harder to focus on anything other than the mind bending pleasure of Bryan's cock as it was shoved deeper into his ass with each successive thrust. The distant sound of growling distracted Jake from the pleasure of his first ass fuck. Was Bryan growling? Jake was distracted by the sensation of his own cock shooting his first of many loads into his bed sheets. The incredible sensation of blowing a load while taking it up the ass distracted Jake from what Bryan did next.
A series of painful pricks on the meaty part of Jake's right shoulder pulled his mind up from the immense pleasure. What was going on? Had Bryan bitten him? And the growling was so much louder now. Bryan seemed to be getting bigger too, and Jake distantly felt like his partner's ample body hair felt much thicker now. Jake could barely make out Brian's arm out in front of him. It seemed so big and Jake swore it looked furry. Bryan was pretty hairy though, so maybe it was just his imagination.
A new sensation distracted Jake from his fuck mate though. The pressure building behind him was reaching a new height. Something huge and hot was pushing against the base of Jake's ass. It seemed impossible, but Jake thought Bryan had to be massively thick at the bottom of his huge cock. That massive burning mass of meat pushed harder and harder against Jake's abused ass hole, willing the ring of muscle open. Jake's cry of pain was lost in the roar of pleasure that shook the room as that huge mass of hot cock pushed into Jake's ass. The pain melted away the instant Jake felt the cock in his ass clench and swell slightly larger causing him to gasp in pleasure.
Jake heard a strange sound as the pain in his shoulder returned briefly. An inhuman howl echoed through the room as Bryan tilted his head up and exploded into his new mate. The heat inside him was like nothing Jake had ever experienced before. The sheer pressure of the explosion of hot cum made his eyes roll back in his head. Bryan kept on pumping into his mate long after his howl ended. Eventually Jake couldn't take any more pleasure and his brain shut down. A wall of white hot light was the last thing that Jake saw before he lost himself to the insane ecstasy his body experienced.
Bryan wrapped his arms around his mate and began to lick the wound on his shoulder. In minutes the bite mark healed and left nothing but a scar behind. Jake's shoulder was also healed along with the extensive damage Bryan had done to his mate's ass. As Jake slept a huge and muscular furry monster wrapped itself around his new mate. Bryan took a deep breath of his mate's scent and felt his brain label the smell as mate. As he slipped into slumber Bryan's massive cock remained tied into Jake's ass. It wouldn't slip out until sometime in the night, but by then it was too late. Jake was already full of Bryan's seed, and soon enough he would understand what it all meant.
