#1 of Foxtaur stories

Um well first off hi, this is a story about a foxtaur and a human falling in love. Its the first story i have ever written so please do not be to hard :/ constructive criticism is welcome but i would appreciate if everyone remained friendly. As this is the first story i wasnt sure how to introduce the characters, so i kinda just thought it would be cool to give it from both there points of views and have them join stories later on.

Sophie's story part 1

?

So my day started just like everyone elses...well okay not like every ones i suppose. You see I'm, HM whats the word, unique? Yea that's it, I'm unique. You see there are a few of us in the world that aren't like other people, well not half of us at least. Me and my tribe we are known by few as foxtaurs. Enough about that I'm sure you would rather me just get along with my story here, so here we go. Oh by the way I'm known as Sophie Silvertail and it's nice to meet you.

I woke up with a start. i had been having a dream about finding my life mate. See in my village we take love very seriously not like humans (no offense meant to those who read this# once we have found our life mate, we never leave each other and even if it came to that we females of the tribe never find another mate. Once mated, mated for life is our saying. It was a pleasant dream, except for one thing, no matter how many times i had this dream the other person would appear fuzzed out, as if i couldn't focus on them. Thus i have no idea who this mystery person is, that is why i have decided to go on a soul journey to look for some answers.

I half heartedly got up from my bed on the floor and wandered slowly towards the kitchen, stumbling being half awake. 'Guess it's my turn' i said aloud to no one in particular as i grabbed a rucksack laying on the floor. Thinking of things i might need a began to pack it with slices of bread and bottles of water i wondered if i should take anything else. Rope! of course, i said as i face palmed. Wouldn't want to be caught out alone in the wild without anything to help myself now would i, i absent mindedly grabbed an old rope i used a few times around the house, wandering around i tossed various things in my bag. A knife, some berries, some bright colored cloth i figured i could use as a blanket and an emergency flag if needed, and finally i had the poor little bag so full i could barely close it properly. I easily had enough food for two people, but for only about 4 days, being by myself though i figured it should last at least double that and i knew the land okay so i figured i can always stop and pick some berries from a bush. Okay i think I'm ready walking out of my house and up the road about two miles before i took a final look at my house. It's the last I'd see of it for about two weeks and i whispered a silent goodbye, i knew my fields would be okay for a while, it was the rainy season so i didn't have to worry about them.

I turned a headed off the path and into the woods no place in mind, my soul searching journey had begun.

Jon's story part 1

Hi, uh I'm not sure where to begin. I guess with my name is a start, I'm Jon, as for my last name i claim no last name any more. It's a rather long story that i would rather not get into right now thank you very much, I'll just say it was cause of a woman. NO not a woman, a she devil, an evil 'thing' disguised as a woman. She ruined my life, but that is the past and this is the present so lets not dawdle on that.

Having been outcast by friends and family i sank to despair in my life, turning to things like alcohol for my problems. Who knows maybe if i wasn't drunk at the moment i would have re thought my plan of leaving society behind and wandering through a forest with just a backpack of things. But when i was little i was in the boy scouts so i figured no worries there, i could fend for myself a bit. I had food and water and a tent, plus when i set out i decided to follow a river (lucky me i was smart enough to think that far) so i could always refill my cantine with more water if need be.

Still following the path i assumed would lead me somewhere eventually, i happened by and old shack. No one lived there and the roof was even collapsing in several places, as vines climbed up one side and toward the chimney as if it was trying to choke it. I poked my head inside the house and looked around, all at once the smell of something raunchy caught my nose, it seemed to be coming from those strange vines outside. Looking up i could see some poking through the chimney, starting to feel light headed and quiet queasy i withdrew my head and retreated back outside to the fresh air. I stumbled coughing toward the river, i thought a drink might help this weird feeling i was getting in the pit of my stomach. I slid down the bank and stopped on a little piece of land sticking out just over the water. Stooping down on my knees then on my belly i reached out to scoop some water up using my hands as a cup. I took a drink and tried to clear my head, those plants back there seemed to act like a natural hallucinogen sending my mind spinning and making it hard to think or see straight. Standing i stumbled forward forgetting momentarily where i was i braced for impact with the ground, when i felt a splash and water around me i laughed absent mindedly. I drifted over to one side of the bank thinking i could just climb out, then i realized how steep the sides were. I started panicking, Help! someone?! anyone help me please! I noticed that the water was picking up and i was being swept downstream farther and faster. I closed my eyes and thought about my life events, how fitting my death would be painful also. There! looking up i could see a waterfall coming up, i laughed inside already excepting my fate. Then i saw something, at first i though it was just a glint in the sun, something playing a trick on me, but as i got closer i saw it was a rope. It looked like it might have been left over from a rope bridge or something of the sort, however it was the only piece of it left. I noticed that it wasn't until after the fall that i would be able to reach it though and my moment of happiness shattered. Still i reached out and readied myself for both the fall and hopefully a grab. Feeling out for the rope desperately as i got closer to the plunge i felt my fingers latch onto it and i clung desperately for my life.

Swinging there, i knew if i let go of this rope even for a second i wouldn't have another chance to grab onto it, but the walls of the river were to high to climb over. Now this is what i would call a trapped between a rock and a hard place situation, doomed to hang on to the rope until my strength was sapped and i could no longer hold on, or i could let go and face my fate at the bottom of this fall. One option looking slightly better than the other, mind you i held on. Closing my eyes i tried to think happy thoughts but my mind was still clouded from those stupid plants, i gave up eventually and decided i would just try to conserve as much energy as possible. Listening to the roar of the river that seemed peaceful just moments before i drifted in and out of consciousness waiting for my fate to be handed to me, just waiting.
