#8 of Poetry

This poem was inspired by a very dear friend of mine. I hope you like it, Josh c:

An end

Has come

To his life

A tale:

A comedy

Told

In the deep hues

Of tragedy:

A purity

Beyond

The grasp

Of their mortal minds

Blood:

Crimson

Silk

Drops

Of sorrow

To my hands

Undeserving

Was he

Of this end

Betrayed

By the one

He loved so dearly

A tender embrace

His final gesture

Before

A swift end

Found him;

Bitter

I cradle him

Life

Barely clinging

To him

My Love;

I

His Lover

One who he

Never loved in return

Though

It burned,

Like icy embers,

I held no grudge

For he

I loved

With every fiber

Of my being

And all

Of what

I ever did

I did for him

Though now

He is gone;

A vagabond

Amongst the stars;

Sparkling

Like his eyes

Full of joy

And remorse;

A tell-tale gem

Softly,

I plant a kiss

On his still warm forehead

My hand

Gently caresses

His tender cheek

"Rest, now."

I whisper,

Hanging my head

Shapeless emotion

Wells up

Within me

As tears

Bead

In my eyes

"May peace

Find you

My Love."

I sigh,

Shuddering

At the realization

Of our mortality;

So delicate

This life is

And now

I must live my own

Without

He

Who

Made this life

Something

Worth living;

A heavy price

A tragedy

Of the night's true hues;

Midnight's Rose

Home

"A Nord's last thoughts should be of home." The prisoner across from me announces. His statement is met with silence. I lift my head, gazing back at the Nord. "Home?" I reply, the heaviness of the cold air filling my lungs. He nods. "Do...
