Safe Haven

It had been two days and the farm where the group and came around came to be a place of rather simple desires. There was a lot on that had happened and for the first time it felt so serial. The farm became a home. Though the continued search for Piyomon was no going so well everything else seemed liked heaven. Veemon had got in the truck with Silver to pick up Kiff and Yill. They found another vehicle along the way so Kiff used it. Life was so simple when Veemon returned he went up to the patio and Shadow came up to him

Shadow said, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience of all this."

Veemon put on a brown jacket that was left on the grass, "We're grateful that you let us stay. It's been tough out there. We haven't even been out there that long and everything is already falling apart."

Shadow said, "Don't get me wrong what I did was inconvenient but I don't you getting used to this."

Veemon asked, "Why?"

Shadow said, "I'd expect you to move on as soon as you friend is healed and the other found."

Veemon pleaded, "You can't through us back out there. Please we can offer so much."

Shadow said, "Look I have others to look for."

Veemon said, "I know my group is big but consider it like extended family."

Shadow looked up past them at the barn to see Klonoa eyeing it. Shadow went down and went up to him and said, "Don't bother with the barn. That is a place of ours and I wouldn't mind if you just avoided it all together."

Klonoa just walked away. Inside Kiff placed the metal replacement for Yill's leg. It was a bit of a push from what she was used to. Kiff said, "Don't push too hard. Please take your time."

Yill said, "This much concern is starting to worry me. Kiff I miss the old you."

Kiff said, "That was before. The world has changed and now I see that I have to do everything in my power to protect you."

Yill said, "Just because things look bleak. We still have feelings it's not like they just went away. And we still cling on to things that are old, well I least I do. It's because that is what made our lives so good. If we change than we can become so unmoved by the world, I don't want a robot I want my old Kiff."

Kiff said, "I don't think I can. For the first time I prayed to god. But I know I have to do my part. I think one day this will all end."

Yill said, "That's so long. It's us against the world now."

Veemon kept trying to keep up with Shadow until he stopped and said, "I don't think I'm changing my mind so you should stop."

Veemon said, "We need time to settle down. I'll madness out there we need time."

Shadow said, "Like I said I've given you that but I just don't think our groups will mix. This is a simple life and I've grabbed on to it for dear life. My family depends on me to look out for them."

Veemon said, "Please don't make your mind up so fast. You have no idea what it's like out there."

Shadow said, "Fine I'll think about it."

Veemon said, "Thanks."

Veemon went to check on Agumon who was still on Dracmon.

Veemon said, "You need to stop this Dracmon is going to be ok."

Agumon said, "I was there, I saw it happen."

Veemon said, "We need more supplies. That rush made us loose quite a lot. Come with me and I'll go a few others."

He went with Veemon who was joined by Guilmon, Bearmon and Klonoa. They went into town; there they saw a huge black building. There was a signed pinned to the door.

Veemon said, "The sign says it's clear."

Klonoa said, "Wait this could be another trap like the pole."

Agumon said, "Yeah let's just avoid it all together this time."

Veemon said, "If it is a trap then maybe we should clear it. I mean on the off chance that other survivors see this..."

Agumon said, "You think there are more survivors."

Veemon said, "We found Shadow and his family so yes I do. As long as we stick together nothing bad can happen."

Bearmon said, "Than let's do it. It's time to nut up bitches."

They went inside to see it was a dance floor. Everything inside seemed very wrecked. It looked clear at first sight, suddenly a load boom box starting playing Gangdam style.

Klonoa said, "Well I hate being right so much."

The infected worked in from the backdoors and from the sides.

Veemon said, "Keep the formation tight. Keep in the center and only try to get headshots."

The lights also started to shift multiple colors. The five of them were back to back firing on the oncoming hoard. Veemon pressed them together to move forward toward the box and destroy it. They took out the remaining infected to make sure none of them would follow them back.

Agumon said, "I feel better."

Veemon said, "Good. We did use a lot of ammo though. Someone really wanted us dead."

Bearmon said, "Probably one of those military guys."

Veemon said, "I think there all died. Plus whoever did this knew we'd be coming. Just like the artic. I think both were set up for us."

Agumon asked, "Who would know we were out here."

Klonoa said, "I think it's Monodramon. Last time he seemed to handle the situation pretty casually for someone who supposedly had nothing to do with that."

Veemon said, "No, If Monodramon was even behind the infection I know him well enough to know that he'd be the one bragging about it. Same as the trap that's no his style, but I know one creature who does want some of us dead: Dorumon."

As they came back the five of them quickly confronted Dorumon.

Dorumon asked, "What's up."

Veemon said, "You set up those traps didn't you."

Dorumon said, "How could I. I was with you since the wall. I've been here the whole time and had now idea that we would end up in a farm. Plus I was the one who saved Dracmon's life. Look I know our past is messed up Veemon but that was because I wasn't informed on the whole truth. When we started you saw me like a brother. I see you the real you as a brother I always have."

Veemon said, "I was thinking that you had someone else set those traps actually. And I saw you as a brother that was before you shot a fireball at my face."

Dorumon said, "You can suddenly dislike me all you want. The fact is I'm looking out for the safety of everyone. That's why I went to save Dracmon. That is why I just came by from searching for Piyomon with Gabumon. I didn't go run off and do whatever it is you did."

Agumon said, "I don't think it was him Vee-let it go."

Veemon said, "Fine. The fact is someone is trying to get us. The farm is the safest place will be but I don't think Shadow will let us stay."

Klonoa said, "Its hell out there, and were burning through our supplies. If we get sent out there we won't make it another day."

Veemon said, "I know. I've been trying to convince him to let us stay. So far he said he'll think about it. At least we have some time to lay low."

Agumon started to shiver, "Man it's getting colder out here."

Veemon said, "That's why I grabbed this jacket. I'd suggest we find some more cloths as it gets colder."

Dorumon said, "I'll tell you what, I'll talk to Shadow myself."

Dorumon still had his let hurt. He moved inside to Shadow who was with his human family and Amy.

Dorumon said, "Hey can I speak to you alone Shadow."

Shadow said, "Sure."

Everyone else left as Dorumon sat down. Dorumon said, "You know I'd think you owe us a lot more after you shot one of ours. "

Shadow said, "I told Veemon that I'd let you stay until he's better."

Dorumon said, "You must have no idea what it's like out there. When I went out with Silver and Big I had every intention of all of us coming back. But that didn't happen because the world out there is a lot more messed up than ever before."

Shadow said, "I can understand your point."

Dorumon said, "Until you stared death in the face than no you don't. Those infected are ruthless."

Shadow said, "Now there is you should know. Those are people. Sick people but still people, this was a small town and I knew everyone here. I've come to grow quite found of this place. I have all the faith in the world that there will be a cure."

Dorumon seeming crazed, "Cure? Are you serious? A cure for dead people that come back up and try to bit on your flesh, there is no cure for that. There never will be."

Shadow said, "I see you have no faith. I know there are people out there still in their own mind. Someone will figure this out."

Dorumon said, "You're seriously trying to assume that this will blow over. You're crazy. Even if there could be such a cure it would take years to develop. We don't have years out there. Were safe here."

Dorumon left to check on Yill and Kiff.

Dorumon put on a smile, "How's my niece."

Yill said, "Hey uncle."

Kiff asked, "Uncle?"

Yill said, "Not literally. But he's been around before this world went to hell. He visited on days you were out. I didn't want you to think that he was a boyfriend or something."

Dorumon asked, "How's that new leg."

Yill said, "It's tough."

Dorumon said, "Me and you're father and doing everything we can to stay here. But that is turning out a lot harder than usual."

Kiff said, "That guy won't let us stay?"

Dorumon said, "I don't know. What I do you is you can both count on me to be there if you need it."

There were enough cloths in some of the empty houses for the other creatures to put on. The chilly air was one bad sign. Another night was spent with the creatures in the house still not successful in finding Piyomon. Veemon felt most unwillingly to sleep because it started to hit him. Ever since he got his body and these events occurred that the others were looking to him for answers. They were looking for a leader. Veemon was going to continue to persuade Shadow because he knew it was the best for the group. In the back of his mind he still didn't know if he could trust Dorumon. Things were still as unclear as to why they kept getting hit.

Two creatures who got off lucky were Patamon and Mikemon who had their two children to look after. They had been in Egypt since the day of the outbreak and they hadn't got a sort of infected for eyesight. They remained in the pyramid living good lives. One who was not so fortunate was Impmon. He had found his body before some of the others but right before Goamon got his. Impmon was one the roof of a building that had infected all around it. They all were walkers fortunate enough. Impmon sat on that roof pretty amused by all this. He was searching for BlackVeemon and never found him. Impmon was alone but so desperately wanted company. He made fire appear above his hands and simply admired the view. A voice from behind him said, "You comfortable?"

Impmon wasn't startled at all as he responded rather coming, "I saw you coming from a mile away. So how did you do it?"

The voice said, "A girl has to have her secrets."

Impmon said, "How typical. You plan on going to them."

The voice said, "Naturally. Things get out of hand pretty quickly."

Impmon said, "The world is ending and you're worried about it getting out of hand. I know you're not the only one there by the way."

Another voice said, "You got a good sense to you."

Impmon said, "Another female. God must have sent you here to be with me."

The second voice said, "I have my eyes set already."

Impmon said, "I suppose that means Renamon is alive since so many others came back too."

The second female came out and it was Floramon.

Floramon said, "She's out there most likely."

Impmon said, "That fox was only after one and I raped her so it's not like I'll get a second chance. It's a good thing I found my special someone for the end of the world."

The first voice asked, "What makes you think this is the end?"

Impmon said, "Look at all that mess down there. That looks like the end to me. You plan on coming out of the shadows any time soon."

The voice said, "Sticking to the shadows is how I survived last time. I think it's a good habit and fits me."

Impmon said, "Too bad you're main man isn't with you anymore. Or should I say is with someone else."

The voice asked, "Who do you think I am?"

Imp said, "That voice tells me one answer."

She stepped out of the shadows it appeared to be BG. I was really focused on the eyes and then said, "You're not fooling anyone. Maybe next time you'll consider contact lenses. But who are you really trying to fool anyway."

She said, "You should know that there is always someone. I guess we haven't involved in three years and now were going extinct."

Impmon asked, "Why do you suppose that. I figured it's because we've been ignored so much. We don't have anyone to hold on to forever so we let go. People keep dreaming this world away and with them apart of it again they are willing to commit suicide to wipe us out. This world wasn't meant for humans so they decide to shift and become more like us. But they had their own faults they couldn't handle being here. They rushed the process and failed. You know I used to think we had something and you know what I did you to as well. I don't see how you can keep moving and changing the way you do. I just want to settle down for the first time because I know this is the end. And even if the world does keep moving on I still just want one love."

She said, "I do what I do because I'm strong enough to take it. The world needs its open choice, just as the world needs its villain. I became that villain. Just like how this world needs its hero back. The world needs to hate someone. At least then all the hate can go to one place and everyone can go on loving everyone else. I know that it's sad but the world still isn't ready for full peace, but were slowly getting there. And for the record we do need humans. We need them to change drastically but we still need them. Our lives were never simple even before we got here. From the day of birth there was drama there was drama since the dawn of time. It's up to us now to moderate and fix those holes."

Impmon said, "That's all fine and good but I personally think you should do it as yourself."

She smiled, "I agree. Catch on the flip side."

Impmon said, "Goodbye doll face."

The group in the farm had been there for a week on. Dracmon had recovered pretty nicely but still needed a few more days to be totally healed. Going out each time brought a new risk but the group managed to not loose anyone. They made sure that the area was secure. Gabumon was beyond a state of madness. It was so set on finding his love that he went out on his own on a search to find her. Even still the group was on edge as there supplies they had were running low again. A lot of the weapons they had were used up during that run to that building. The group had really unified in gathering supplies. They kept on showing their commitment to staying here. This place was starting to feel real home like for all of them. Still even with all this there was something daunting for some of the members of this family. Yill had got used to the replacement leg she wanted to go on a run for personal reasons. She had told only Croc the purpose of the run into town. She felt like she could only go to an outsider for this. Also Veemon was still bothered by Dorumon's communication with the group. Everyone felt the unease tension at times as both of them felt to be the leader of this group. Every day that became clearer. Who would take point during raids into town became and talk about who was more fit for each run. The group was pretty split. All the new comers sort of slid over to Dorumon's side. Those who knew Vince for a long time such as Agumon and Dracmon swayed to his side. Even still it wasn't that definitive and both of them weren't trying to blow it out of proportion. The main focus was still on survival and keeping their new home safe. It was their safe haven and they were doing whatever it took to make it a place with no infected. Shadow still had issues with them cutting down people. It was clear that that they more they went out the more he wanted them gone for good. The group came to a street and a voice said, "Good to see so many of you made it."

They all turned to see Cat. Veemon fell to the floor and the others couldn't believe their eyes. She still had some black paint on her fur but that didn't concern her. Everyone was looking at a ghost of sorts. But she was real in the flesh standing before them at the end of the street. She stood firmly and with an amount of confidence. Veemon's tears came down at such a confusing sight. He saw her go down before the reset was cut off and yet she was standing there. She walked closer pressing her fur against his skin. He knew it was real now and he still couldn't believe it.

Gatomon said, "You're getting pretty emotional. Maybe you need a little slap."

He sat up without needing it and asked, "How is this even possible."

Gatomon said, "You didn't think I would really run into darkness head on without a plan. I had magic on my side. I had him looking out for me and now I am here to look after you."

Veemon said, "Do you think we could start over, or at the very least save this world."

Gatomon said, "I had my eyes set on you. I wanted you to be here and you were. We can't go back. My friend is dead now. What we can do is take back this world together."

Dorumon started to leave and Vince asked, "Where are you going?"

Dorumon said, "I'm going back. It's still dangerous out here so I would implore we all go and settle things back in the farm."

Gatomon said, "Well said."

In Egypt a group of undead sand riders were coming up on the lucky Patamon and his wife. They looked out and saw this.

Patamon asked, "What are those?"

She said, "Trouble. Looks like our luck just ran out."

Patamon said, "I got the kids. We should get moving."

She asked, "Where should we go?"

Patamon said, "I'm not sure yet but this place won't be safe in a few minutes."

He took flight taking a hold of her and leaving Egypt for good.

Croc made his way into a store and got the supplies for Yill and some general other stuff. He made his way back. He put the stuff in her hand and she put it under the pillow as Kiff made his way into the room. That day Yill was so on edge that she figured she would ease her way into what she got. She wrote a note at night when they were all asleep. She made her way outside and slept out. When the next day came about she made her way up to the barn. It was locked with several pads. She went up on the ladder. It was Amy who had discovered the note and ran toward the barn. It was already too late Yill was about to get ready but obscurely saw all the walkers grouped up below. She came out as Amy ran up.

Yill asked, "What the hell do you have walkers in there?"

Amy said, "Please you don't understand. We see them as people."

Yill screamed, "Those aren't people. They kill."

Amy said, "That's my dad, mom, sister and brother in there. That's some of Shadow's family in there. That is some of his human's family in there. Those are people."

Yill sighed, "Not anymore. Maybe a while ago but no anymore, this isn't safe."

At the same point Shadow was with Vince. Shadow said, "If you want to stay here then you're going to follow my rules."

Vince said, "We are willing to do anything."

Amy said, "Please you have to keep this to yourself. At least for now."

Yill looked down, "I might be pregnant. I wouldn't want to hold in the truth for my love and for my group. But I wanted to make sure first. Once I know for sure it will be the first thing I do. We have to tell the others."

Amy said, "If Shadow finds out he'll make you leave. From what I've seem you all seem set on staying. It's the only way to make sure you can stay."

Veemon walked out into the forest with Shadow with a pole and a string with a rope around it. They came across two walkers. Vince asked, "What are we doing?"

Shadow said, "They get stuck like that in the pits usually. I bring them up to that barn."

Vince said, "Wait the barn has walkers in it."

Shadow said, "Those are people. And if you're going to stay here you're going to treat them as such."

Shadow hooked in one of them and pulled it up. Veemon was on the other and they brought them back. Dorumon was the first to notice them coming in. Everyone else was outside as well. Dorumon yelled across the field, "What is this!"

Veemon didn't want to deal with whatever he was going to pull out. He noticed Dorumon pull out his gun as passing the others guns as well.

Veemon stopped closed to the barn as Dorumon held up the gun at the walker.

Shadow asked, "What are you doing?"

Dorumon asked, "What the hell is this."

Yill noticed it and ran up to them and looked at Amy briefly then said, "Sorry..." She looked up to the group, "The barn is full of walkers."

Dorumon yelled, "What! We have been trying to secure this place for days and you're here holding up walkers in the barn. This is stupid. They want to kill us... look how they keep coming at us. That's because they want one thing..."

Veemon said, "Don't do anything stupid. Shadow will let us stay if we just do this his way."

Dorumon yelled out to the whole group, "Do you want to survive? Then you got to fight for it. Isn't that we what said. This isn't safe. We promised safety. They'll brake out at night or something than we will end up dead."

Veemon said, "We can secure the barn even more. We can stay here."

Dorumon looked at Shadow, "This is madness. It will never work. These aren't even humans anymore." He shot the walker in the chest. Veemon screamed, "Stop."

The walker still moved he shot three more times in the chest and asked, "Why is he still coming. What is he still moving a normal person be dead? There's only one solution!" He shot the walker in the head and it fell right out of Shadow's grasp. Shadow fell to his knees. Dorumon was fixated on this solution and grabbed an axe the others were forced to pull up their guns as he cut through letting the others barn walkers out. Then it became a fire spree shooting out the full hoard that occupied the barn. Dorumon shot the walker Vince held and he just dropped it. The onslaught felt like it took a while before it seemed like it was all clear. It only lasted a while until they heard another groan. They all pulled up their guns the head that peaked out made them all freeze and it was as if timed slowed down as Piyomon came out and she was the walker. Gabumon wasn't present but the others still had a hard time dealing with another one of them turning. It was Veemon who stepped up and pulled his gun up and said, "I'm sorry."

He shot her in the head.

Agumon asked, "What should we tell Gabumon?"

Klonoa said, "The truth."

Veemon asked, "Where is he anyway?"

Agumon said, "I haven't seen hi m since this morning."

Veemon said, "you don't he ran off looking for her on his own."

Klonoa said, "We better search."

Gabumon was still deep in the forest. He was fixated and his mind was now on a lost cause. He worked his way down a cliff. He saw some of her feathers. He screamed out, "Piyomon where are you"

He saw a pole with a broken rope. He looked around desperately but it was in vain. The only thing he attracted was more walkers roaming around the forest. He shot them down which is what the rest of the group had heard. Gabumon wasted more bullets then usual letting out his frustrations. The rest of the group got to him.

Vince said, "She's gone. She must have gotten bit long before."

Veemon looked over to the rope and looked at Shadow and asked, "Isn't that what we used?"

Shadow said, "That must have been Big. He came back to get another one. I wasn't even sure what it was for."

Veemon said, "Did he bring her to the barn?"

Shadow said, "Most likely."

Gabumon said, "But I asked him about her. How could he not know?"

Shadow said, "He suffered from short-term memory. He must had caught her and brought her in and forgot."

Dorumon said, "There both dead so there is nothing more that needs to be said."

Shadow said, "I think you best leave then. Your friend is all healed up and we've been through enough with you all being here and taking out all our loved ones."

Dorumon pulled out his gun, "I have a problem with that. We're not leaving."

Veemon said, "Don't do this. We don't kill the living."

Dorumon said, "If he sends us back out there then were toast. What he has to realize is that this place wasn't as safe as he expected. All it would take is one noise and all the walkers that we took out would be at his doorstep. We cleared this place."

Shadow said, "You've made a real mess of things. We had everything under control."

Dorumon said, "You had a barn full of walkers. You call that under control. What would have happened if it got full? Theirs more of them then you realize."

Gatomon said, "They would have clawed away at all the wood eventually. It was the right call to clear it for the sake of safety. On the other hand no one else has to die."

Dorumon put down his gun, "Fine."

Dorumon made his way back up to the highway. He set up on top of an R.V. he sat down as Croc, Bearmon, and Klonoa joined him. Klonoa saw a scavenger and said, "Hey."

The young man ran off. Klonoa screamed, "We got an alive runner."

Dorumon jumped down and piled on the man and brought him back as the others came back to the farm. They went back as well. The man said, "This is kidnapping."

The others saw Dorumon have him with the others.

Veemon said, "What is this now?"

Klonoa said, "A scavenger who ran off when I tried to get his attention."

The man said, "The others will be upset when then figure out I'm gone."

Dorumon tightened his grip, "Is that a threat."

Veemon asked, "Others?"

The man said, "A group much larger than this one. We got some real guns men on our side."

Guilmon said, "Is that so?"

Dorumon said, "What makes you think we'll let you run off after a threat like that."

Veemon said, "You going pull your gun at him too."

Dorumon said, "He made the threat first. If we let him go to his gang then we can have a war on our hands."

Klonoa said, "This guys a real creep. We can't trust him."

Agumon said, "We still can't go around killing people."

Dorumon said, "He said his group would find us. We have to make sure that doesn't happen."

Veemon said, "Let's just think this through. We are in over our heads with this right now. We don't even know where this group is or if it even exists."

The man said, "I assure you it is. And they will come looking for me."

Vince sighed, "I guess we have no choice but to hold him captive for now."

Dorumon asked, "Are you serious?"

Veemon said, "We don't know enough yet. We have time to figure it out. In the meantime I suggest we put him in the barn and re-secure it."

They had the burned the bodies of the fallen dead and relocked the barn with the man cuffed up inside. It was weird how much shifted in one new survivor on hold up. D was off in a separate room that cat came into.

Dorumon asked, "What do you want?"

Gatomon said, "So I asked Vince to catch me up on all the loose ends I missed out on, seems like you guys came into several close calls."

Dorumon said, "Yeah just enough to keep us on our toes."

Gatomon said, "K told me you went out and saved Dracmon after getting shot."

Dorumon said, "That's true."

Gatomon said, "Didn't someone go with you."

Dorumon said, "Yeah they died."

Gatomon said, "You shot one of them didn't you."

Dorumon face became real serious, "What makes you think I shot one of them."

Gatomon said, "You don't carry the same gun anymore. You're story seems almost impossible with you and your injury. You would have never made it back here with him unless you brought yourself some time."

Dorumon said, "You sure know how to put a story together."

Gatomon said, "So I'm right."

Dorumon said, "You tell anyone yet."

Gatomon said, "No. I wanted to know if it was true first."

Dorumon said, "I just did the math. At his size he would have never survived anyway. I did him a favor and ended it quicker. In the end I made the call to save one of our groups lives."

Gatomon said, "So you want everything Vince has now?"

Dorumon said, "Drawing more speculation."

Gatomon said, "Seems to fit. Vince has thing for him then you want to save him. You create a deeper bound with Yill. You tell me the truth. Like I said seems to fit."

Dorumon said, "The truth is that Vince isn't ready for this world. He isn't a survivor. He made all the bad choices so far. I kept us going. And way I see is that I can be the father Vince never was. I can get Yill everything she needs. That goes for you too."

Gatomon said, "Too bad that was never my intention to be with Vince. His magic made the illusion of his wife's kids. The truth is my partner is in Egypt under the close eye of Mike. We were going let the magic go away after Mike met Vince. We never had communication with either of them but I have my sources. I know there alive."

Dorumon asked, "What else do you know?"

Gatomon said, "I know that the darkness was never really gone. As a matter of fact a lot went into you. This shitty world has sealed its fate. In real time it will be close to a four year anniversary and we've come down to a world of undead. Truth is I don't know how long we can keep this up but we both still fight so I guess we both still have hope for a better future."

Dorumon asked, "And what if I took you now. What would you do?"

Gatomon said, "I've been 'raped' before. Imp had has deal of problems and also had an attraction to me at one point. Sure enough he had his way. I think I'd rather pick him over you at this point."

Dorumon said, "Am I not good enough."

Gatomon said, "You don't fall into the top ten hottest creatures. You've gone insane with power and you're fixated on hurting a good friend of mine."

Dorumon said, "Who's in the top ten?"

Gatomon said, "Along me stands, Veemon, Guilmon, Renamon, Impmon, Goamon, Gabumon, Agumon, and Shoutmon in that order."

Dorumon said, "How are Agumon and Shoutmon on that list?"

Gatomon said, "Don't look at me it's based on popular demand or something. The more people ask the more they receive. Even at the end of the world and people and creatures alike still fixate over sex...how typical."

She left Dorumon to his thoughts. He wasn't in a good state but at least there was a small amount of peace. There was on the other hand the young man in locked in the barn.

Veemon sat with Andy and Dracmon who was all healed up.

Dracmon asked, "How long have I been out."

Agumon said, "A few days now."

Dracmon said, "Veemon..."

Veemon said, "It won't work out. Agumon's been pretty fixated on staying at you bedside. I think you should be talking to him about our future."

Veemon left and Agumon blushed a bit, "I couldn't stop thinking about you after. I think it's because I have feelings for you."

Dracmon starched his head, "I don't know if it will work out. I'm still not even over the fact that Vince can change just like that. If we try than I'm sure it won't last."

Agumon said, "You're clearly new to this world still. But by the look of it the world is falling apart. All of us creatures get with many others and love is temporary."

Dracmon said, "What about that couple that never broke off. They have begun together for most of this ordeal and they still are together to this day. I want something like that."

Agumon said, "Those two are special. But you'll start to see that it's just as good as moving on. We get the luxury of having many great and different experiences. All we truly desire is the pleasure. That is why we should give it a try. I don't want to die without having a few more new experiences first."

Dracmon said, "Don't you realize just how cold that is. We don't connect. So what makes us different from the infected? We are just mindless bodies wondering from sex experience to sex experience. We are so scared of a real relationship for what? Is it because we've become so fixated on damning those first relations that we never choose to go back to them? We abandon them and they abandon us. In the end I wake up these days and ask myself why makes me different from them. It's my heart and I thought it belonged to Vince but I was dead wrong. Now I'm supposed to try to fit into the loop too. That is just bullshit."

Agumon said, "You still don't get why the creator made us this way. He's looked at human behavior and how it's not so much different than this. The divorce rate is so high it's not even funny. He took that image to a world that didn't need to care about commitment or divorce. Eventually the creatures move on and express those feelings for another. Those feelings of love never truly fade. I remember everything I've ever done and who I've done them with. In all I can see it's made me a better creature because I was exposed to so many new experiences. Before this end of the world bullshit, that is when I saw Vince at his happiest. He was so filled with life and happiness. That's because he's had a lot more experiences than most others. It's true that at first it drains you emotionally but once you start to feel the pleasure of another the only thing that fades is the sadness."

Dracmon asked, "Is the creator happy?"

Agumon said, "I wouldn't know. I haven't talked to him myself yet."

Dracmon said, "Well based on what I've seen I'd say the answer is a clear cut no. He kept ripping you guys a part and together and now he has no control left."

Agumon said, "That is why we need to take matters into our own hands. If we can't even shape our own future than why bother going on, and mind you that the creator of this world is like a god to most, he watches over us."

Dracmon said, "Yeah but he's here. That is why I came. I was told this world was much better than ours in the state it was in. But I came in here to find that it was much worse than ever before. I am the newest creature and the world is ending. That is the biggest bullshit if there ever was any."

Veemon was joined by Gatomon.

Gatomon said, "You haven't made a move. I'm surprised."

Veemon said, "I still respect that you're with Pat. Lately I haven't felt the need to be with a female."

Gatomon said, "I came back to be with him. It's funny that I thought that I'd run into another situation before I met him again and I was right."

Veemon asked, "Me?"

Gatomon said, "Impmon."

Veemon asked, "He's still alive."

Gatomon said, "He's looking for your brother. Turns out he has a thing for your brother."

Veemon said, "I was aware of that some time ago."

Gatomon asked, "Are you trying to remain single?"

Veemon said, "I don't know. I really liked the small breaks I have after a relation."

Gatomon asked, "You remember Mikemon?"

Veemon asked, "Who?"

Gatomon said, "My other sister. The one you mistook me for when we were young. She used to look just like me. After the years she spent in the sand some of her fur grew off brown. She's the one you used to have a crush on back in the other world."

Vince said, "That makes so much since. I never saw you two in the same place and I had met both of you so I must have gotten confused and thought you were her."

Gatomon said, "That is a pretty calm response to a life changing statement of me having a third sister."

Veemon said, "I fought with Pat for the longest time over you. And I wasn't even aware that the one I met was you're sister. I screwed everything up."

Gatomon said, "We have our daughter now. We can't take that back. I think it was destiny really screwing around attempting to match us so perfectly. The main problem was that Mike didn't come with me at that time. She remained in that world until recently. And now the world is ending fate is trying to get us to be at our happiest before our dying moments."

Veemon said, "Fate has terrible timing. I'd dig into that further but I think we should peak in our other guest in the barn."

They both went over to the barn to the boy tried to shuffle out of the cuffs but was at no use.

Veemon said, "You ready to talk."

The man said, "Fuck you."

Gatomon said, "That's no way to treat my friend."

The man said, "I don't care. I'm going to get killed anyway. You're going to kill me so it doesn't matter what you say. Or what I say for the matter. So I'm not telling you shit."

Veemon pulled out his gun which he had in his brown jacket, "Look I don't want to hurt it out of you. I'd rather actually let you go off else were and you can risk it out there. Point is if you tell me what I want I want to know and at least you'll have a chance."

Dorumon went to see Yill. She went off to grab her personal stuff and just left the house. She had completely forgotten to check with all the previous engagements. After a few minutes she checked to see the results came out positive. She went back to his love. She said, "I'm pregnant."

Kiff asked, "What?"

She said, "You're going to be a father."

Dorumon asked, "Are you sure?"

Yill said, "I checked three times all came up positive."

Kiff smiled warmly, "This is great."

Yill looked down, "Is it?"

Kiff asked, "What do you mean?"

Yill said, "Can we really raise a newborn in this world? I was almost lost myself. Every time the baby cries it will attract walkers. And we won't have enough supplies to even take care of the baby properly."

Dorumon said, "That is quite a risk. Perhaps you should consider abortion."

Kiff said, "I've always wanted to have a kid of my own. This baby could be proof that we do have a future. We can't do that. We can't just give up our future. It's true it's going to be tough but we can get through this together."

Yill said, "Maybe I should get advice from my dad."

Dorumon said, "He wanted to throw walkers in a practically full barn. That was an idiotic choice. He's advice has made our numbers dwindle. I don't mean to be harsh but he can't go on leading this group anymore. I said he wasn't ready for this world. I said we had to fight. I know it's the tough choice but that is what I've been doing since I've got here. I kept our group alive. In the face of danger I stood up and made one hundred percent sure we were going to be safe. That reminds me...I'll get Veemon here."

He left to the barn to visit Vee and Cat who were still on the man's case.

Dorumon said, "Yill wishes to talk to both of you she said it was rather important."

Veemon asked, "Who will watch over him."

Dorumon said, "I will."

Veemon said, "After the last stunt I'm not sure that is a good idea."

Dorumon said, "We all lived. That is the bottom line is that we are alive. If someone doesn't get the info out we are all in danger. I know how to get info out."

Gatomon said, "Let's go."

Veemon just left with her to go to Yill.

Dorumon pulled the young man up and pushed him out of the barn. The man said, "Aren't you going to threaten me."

Dorumon growled as he pushed him into the forest, "No, I'm just going to kill you. Just got to get some distance than I can tell the group whatever I want. They will find it hard to swallow but they won't miss some trouble maker."

The man yelled, "You're making a big mistake."

Dorumon pushed him further and harder going way out of the way and threw him down against a tree. Dorumon said, "I haven't made a mistake so far. This is the right choice and that all there is too it."

He pulled up his gun as the guy cried out but before the words could escape Dorumon picked him up and slammed him against the tree until he bleed out. He shot his leg and fell pushed himself back pushing out another shot into the air.

Veemon asked, "Did you hear that?"

Gatomon said, "Dorumon..."

Veemon yelled as he ran out, "No, no, no."

Agumon came out of the barn, "That dude is gone, and so is Dorumon."

Veemon said, "He shot him."

The others gathered as well.

Veemon said, "We have to find out what happened."

Croc said, "We can't spare much more bullets out there."

Veemon said, "Try to only use knives."

They ran into the forest to see Doru a lot closer still pushing himself back from his shot leg. He looked back and widely pained out, "The guy managed to get loose out here. He shot me in the leg and ran further into the forest."

Veemon asked, "He's alive?"

Klonoa asked, "Which way did he go?"

Dorumon said, "I saw him run off that way. He pushed himself up against a tree and covered his wound with a wrap that Agu brought with him. He tied it off and said, "Come on let's go."

Veemon said, "You're not going anywhere in that condition."

Dorumon said, "You need ever able body and we need to split up to find him faster. He's going to run right back to his group and tell them where we are."

Gatomon said, "I'll go to the highway to see if he'll break his way back up there."

Everyone split up. Veemon stayed with Dorumon and Dorumon said, "Of course."

Veemon crossed his arms, "What really happened?"

Dorumon said, "You don't believe me."

Veemon said, "It's getting a lot harder to after all that nonsense. He didn't even have a gun on him."

Dorumon said, "He took mine, why do you suppose I don't have it."

Veemon walked further as Dorumon pushed off and followed. Vee monsaid, "And what happened with you going to the school was absolute truth too huh?"

Dorumon said, "You sure ask a lot of questions. If I didn't know any better I'd say you're secretly falling for me."

Veemon said, "We both know that if that was true I'd be on you already. But I recall you having another gun."

Dorumon pulled it out and took the safety off and held it up.

Veemon eyes gazed firmly as he stopped, "So you were planning to kill me after all."

Dorumon said, "There is no way you can deny that the other part of you is back in there. Otherwise you wouldn't have that interest in her. Ever call you made has caused somebody to die."

Veemon said, "I tried everything I could to save everyone."

Dorumon said, "I shot big. I did that to save you're former lover's life."

Veemon asked, "What?"

Dorumon said, "And if I didn't do what I did we would have all died from his group."

Veemon yelled, "That could have been a bluff. And you shot him for that."

Dorumon yelled back, "I don't gamble you fucking idiot. That's the other reason you got to go. As long as you breathe my little ness Yill won't be safe. Gatomon won't be safe. Nobody will be safe."

Veemon said, "Yill isn't you're ness. Technically were not even related. I used to call you my brother but you became made. You killed two living people. And that is how you justify this. Kill someone else who is just trying to do his best. And for your info Gatomon and I are friends and only that. We both know that. But I guess you won't take my word for it because that would be a gamble."

They heard someone else coming back Dorumon dropped the gun. It was Agumon he said, "The dude is dead."

Veemon looked at Dorumon, "I wonder how that happened."

Agumon said, "He was a walker so I shot him in the head."

They both looked at Agumon. Veemon asked, "What?"

Agumon said, "Yeah and it was so weird the guy wasn't even bit."
