"Luna?" whimpered Luke.
Luna opened her jaws and lunged at Luke, her fangs ready to tear into the squirrel before her. Luke shrieked and darted off to the side. Luna landed where the squirrel had once been and turned about to glare at him with fierce yellow eyes.
"Luna, what are you doing?" exclaimed Luke.
Luna growled savagely, saliva dripping from mouth filled with sharp teeth. Luke stared at the wolf in terror; why was she acting this way? Just last night the two of them were in the throes of passion along with Kent and Trixey, and now his lover was trying to devour him.
Luna readied herself to pounce, her eyes focused on her prey. Luke raised his paws up, "Luna, wait! Please stop!" The squirrel's pleas fell on deaf ears. The wolf emitted another terrifying snarl and dashed towards Luke. Realizing that Luna would not stop, Luke ran away from his hunter, scampering all over the cave in an attempt to lose the wolf. Luke tried every evasion maneuver he knew; jumping over rocks, making tight turns, but the distance between the two of them never increased.
Luke ran towards the back of the cave, trying to make his way towards Trixey and Kent so they could help stop Luna. Before he could get anywhere near the sleeping vulpine, Luna suddenly dashed in front of Luke, blocking his path. With a gasp, the squirrel immediately turned around and darted towards the opposite side of the cave, with the wolf closing the gap between them. Luke ran as fast as he could, only to be greeted by a stone wall. Whirling about, Luke saw Luna lunge towards him, jaws wide open. Remembering his encounter with Fang, Luke ducked beneath the wolf's jaws and dashed in between her hind legs, leaving Luna to collide with the wall with a dull thud. With the wolf temporarily stunned, Luke began to run back to Trixey and Kent, his heart pounding with every step he took. As the sight of the two sleeping foxes came to view, Luke was sure he was safe. But before he reached the other side of the cave, the wolf managed to get alongside the fleeing squirrel and ram him to the side with her head.
The squirrel tumbled from the blow and slammed into a wall, completely dazed. As Luke tried to lift himself up, Luna flipped him over onto his back with her paw and pressed it down firmly onto the squirrel. Luke struggled to lift the wolf's paw off of him, but Luna's weight was too much for the squirrel.
Luke gazed up into Luna's snarling face; her eyes were intense, yet somewhat foggy, as if she was in a trance. Luke had never been so afraid of Luna since that fateful day in the grotto, where she had cornered him and, in exchange for satisfying her aching cunt, became traveling companions and eventually lovers. Luna opened her jaws wide, giving Luke a horrifying view of her razor-sharp teeth. The squirrel had caught more than a few glimpses of those fangs when she would lick him in both a loving and sexual way; it took a great deal of time and trust for Luke to overcome his instincts and allow Luna to continue with her affectionate licks.
Luke could feel the terror growing inside him, but it paled in comparison to the heartache he felt. Luke had once felt a great depression when he realized he loved Luna; the fact that nature had intended for them to be enemies forbade their capability to mate and raise offspring. The sorrow dissipated when Luna and the others were captured, but now the cold hard truth was staring him right in the face.
"Luna," coughed Luke from beneath her paw, "Please stop." The wolf did not react to his plea. "Why are you doing this?" Luke wheezed. Luna started to slowly bring her head down, jaws open and ready to devour the helpless squirrel. "This is it," Luke thought, "This is how it ends. I should've known better; Luna and I could never be together." The darkness within Luke's heart was similar to the gaping mouth nearly upon him; dark, terrifying, and ready to swallow him up. Luke gazed one more time into Luna's eyes, tears welling up in his own as he forced himself to say his last words.
"I love you, Luna."
The wolf suddenly stopped. The gaping maw pulled away from the squirrel and closed. The wolf shook her head, trying to wake up from the dazed state she was just in. When Luna came to her senses, she gazed all around her; perplexed at her current situation. The wolf felt something squirm under her paw. Luna cast her gaze downward to see Luke cowering beneath her paw, eyes shut tight with tears streaming down his face.
"Luke!" gasped Luna.
The wolf immediately lifted her paw off the squirrel. Luke opened his eyes to see Luna gazing down at him in confusion. "What happened?" she asked. Luke didn't answer; he simply stared up at the wolf with a horrified look on his face.
"Luke," Luna said softly, "are you alright? What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" Luna took a step towards Luke and the squirrel immediately hopped up and jumped away from her. Luna was stunned; did Luke just back away from her? "Luke," she spoke with concern in her voice, "please, what's wrong?" The wolf took another step and Luke jumped backwards a bit more.
Luna was becoming upset; her lover was trying to stay away from her. "Luke, please," she begged, her eyes starting to grow hot with repressed tears, "why are you doing this? Please don't do this to me." Luke could hear her, but he wasn't listening. The squirrel couldn't think straight; he no longer saw Luna as his mate, but as his executioner. Luna began to slowly walk over to him and he instantly broke out into a mad dash towards the cave entrance. "Luke, wait!" cried Luna, racing after him.
Luke and Luna ran out of the cave and into the rain. A thunderstorm had rolled in late last night, pouring rain and striking lightening across the valley for the last few hours. Luke continued to run from Luna and darted into the forest, weaving between the trees and leaping over rocks. Luna tried to keep up with Luke, but the squirrel was maneuvering through the forest with a greater agility than hers and the thunderstorm didn't improve her chances.
Luke finally came across a large tree and quickly scaled its massive height. Luna approached the tree, panting and crying, desperately calling out Luke's name and begging him to come back. Once he reached the top, Luke scampered onto a branch and leapt to another tree. As soon as he landed on the other tree, Luke quickly jumped to another, and then another, until he was out of Luna's sight.
Luna stood at the base of the tree, staring up into the tree branches Luke was last seen. Her heart felt heavy, tears began to flow from her eyes, mingling with the rain drops that fell on her face. Luke, her lover, left her without as much as a good-bye. As she wept, Luna's stomach growled audibly. Suddenly, Luna realized why Luke ran away; her hunger had overtaken her and she tried to eat him. Luna had stopped eating meat shortly after the two of them started to travel together. The wolf recalled an incident where she caught a rabbit and devoured it while Luke watched in horror. After that day, Luna swore off all meat, eating only what Luke, Trixey, and Kent ate. It was easy for Kent and Trixey, but it was taking its toll on Luna. The wolf would have dreams of chasing down deer with her mother and father, but she also experienced horrible nightmares that depicted Luna and Fang devouring Luke, Kent, and Trixey, despite their pleas for her to stop. It seems as though her primal instinct finally took complete control over her while she slept.
Luna tipped her head back and howled in sorrow. The wolf had lost her family, been betrayed by her ex-mate, and now her one true love left her out of fear.
A few trees away, Luke finally stopped hopping from tree to tree and settled down into a knothole. The squirrel shook with terror, fatigue, and coldness. Luke had no idea what to do; all he knew was that he could never be with Luna. It would be the best for the both of them, no matter how much it hurt him. Off in the distance, Luke could hear Luna howl in pain. Luke desperately wanted to go back and comfort her, but he was still afraid that she would turn on him again. After all, a squirrel like him could never be with a wolf as noble and proud as Luna. Luke curled up and silently wept to himself, missing the warmth of Luna's fur.
Kent woke up shortly after Luke and Luna ran outside, roused by the howl he heard outside the cave. Kent gently nuzzled the vixen sleeping on his side; Trixey awoke with an irate expression on her face. "Look Kent, if you really can't wait anymore then just mount me; just be quick, quiet, and don't make a mess."
"Trixey," whispered Kent, "I think something's going on. I think I heard Luna howling, like she was hurt." Trixey's ears perked up and she managed to slowly rise to her paws, allowing Kent to do the same. Kent and Trixey searched the entire cave, but could find no trace of Luke or Luna.
"Where could they be?" asked Trixey.
"They might be outside; it sounded like Luna was somewhere in the forest." Kent and Trixey began to walk towards the cave entrance when Luna entered the cave, soaking wet and sobbing.
"Luna? What's wrong?" inquired Trixey, scanning over the wolf's body in search of any wounds. Luna merely walked past the two foxes and settled down in the spot she had shared with Luke. Kent and Trixey flashed each other concerned looks and slowly ambled over to the sobbing wolf. "Luna, where's Luke? What's wrong?"
"He's gone," whimpered Luna, never raising her gaze up to her friends. "Luke left me...out of fear. I couldn't help myself! All I can remember was having this dream where I was stalking something in the forest, and the next thing I know I hear Luke's voice." Luna paused to suck in some fresh air and exhale it through her bawling. "I wake up and he's underneath my paw, whimpering and crying. I asked him what was wrong and tried to approach him, but he just ran away! The look on his face...he never looked at me like that...not after what happened in the grotto. I tried to follow him and calm him down, but he was too quick for me...I've lost him...and it's all my fault!" Luna wailed, burying her face under her paws.
Kent and Trixey were shocked by the wolf's account; neither of them knew what to say or do. Trixey slowly approached Luna, nuzzling into her neck. The wolf simply shifted away from her. "Please...just leave me...I'm dangerous to Luke...and you," she muttered through her paws.
"But Luna, you're our friend," Kent said gently, "You wouldn't hurt us."
"Yes, I would!" cried Luna, "I nearly killed Luke...I could do the same to you, even if I didn't mean to." Kent was about to disagree when Luna cut him off. "Just leave...get far away from me...I won't blame you for leaving."
It was obvious that neither Trixey or Kent could reason with Luna in her present state. Trixey lowered her head close to Luna's. "We'll leave you alone, Luna," she whispered softly. Trixey then slowly slid her tongue out of her mouth and gently licked one of Luna's ears. "But we'll never abandon you. Luke will come back, you'll see." With that said, Kent and Trixey departed to their side of the cave, granting Luna the solitude she so desperately wanted.
For the next few days, Luna never left the cave unless she was marking her territory. The wolf spent her most of her time crying while the rest of the time she was sleeping. Luke never came back to the cave, despite the encouragements from Kent and Trixey. Luna regretted ever meeting Luke; if she'd never met him, she wouldn't have put his life in danger.
Kent and Trixey did everything they could for Luna. The two of them scavenged for fruit and vegetables for the three of them, but Luna never touched a single morsel. After two days, Kent and Trixey became incredibly worried, fearing that Luna was trying to starve herself to death. Kent had once suggested that they catch Luna some live prey and bring it to her, but Trixey shot that idea down, believing that Luna would become more distressed over Luke. Since Luke never returned on his own accord, the two foxes went out to search for him when Luna was sleeping. They searched all over the forest and beyond, calling out the squirrel's name and begging him to come back. One day, the two of them ran into Sela the unicorn again and briefly described what had transpired that evening. Sela was so worried about Luke and Luna that she offered to help them look for the squirrel; Sela knew the entire layout of the Mystic Valley and had many friends who could aid in their search. "You two just take care of Luna," she said as she trotted away, "I'll find Luke and persuade him to come back."
After that day, Kent and Trixey spent all their time comforting Luna. Every day they would talk to her and try to soothe her sorrow, but Luna never replied to them. One day, however, when Kent and Trixey were making their way to their side of the cave to sleep, Luna muttered, "I love him...I love him so much. He deserves to be happy...I'll do whatever I can to ensure his happiness...even if I will never see him again." Kent and Trixey looked back, curious as to what Luna had just said, but the wolf didn't respond and the two resumed their course for their bed. As she fell asleep, a plan began to formulate in her mind.
A plan that was based off of a supposed myth...
A plan that defied the laws of Mother Nature herself...
The next morning, Kent and Trixey rose to their paws, ready to try and comfort Luna once more. "Luna," called out Trixey, "how are you feeling?" There was no response, just like every other day. "Look, I know how you feel but there's no reason to give up hope. C'mon, Luna, I thought you-." Trixey gasped when she saw that the wolf was not in the spot she had rarely moved from for the past few days.
"I guess she must've gone out to...well...you know," mumbled Kent, noticeably uncomfortable with discussing excretions. Trixey nodded and the two of them sat down, waiting for Luna to return. But after two hours of waiting, they both knew something was horribly wrong. The two foxes dashed out of the cave, calling out the wolf's name as they delved into the forest.
As the two of them were running, Sela overheard their shouts and followed the sounds of their cries to find the distressed vulpine. "What's the matter?" Sela asked.
"Luna's gone!" panted Trixey, "We can't find her anywhere."
"Well, I saw her not to long ago," replied the unicorn.
Kent and Trixey's ears perked up. "Really?" exclaimed Kent, "Where?"
Sela thought long and hard about her encounter with the wolf. "Well, when I spotted her, I asked her what she was doing. She didn't say anything; she just sort of whimpered. Poor dear," added Sela, shaking her head. "I asked her if Luke ever came back and Luna just stared at me. She asked me if I knew where exactly Razia dwelled."
"Who's Razia?" asked Kent.
"Razia is some sort of large reptile with wings and the ability to breathe fire," replied Trixey, having discussed the myths of Razia with Sela and Luna the first day they came to the Mystic Valley. Kent's eyes grew wide, and the color of his skin seemed to pale, a little.
"Y-you're pulling my t-tail, right?" asked with a slight stutter.
"Oh she's real," Sela answered, "And I think Luna wanted to see her."
"What did you tell her?" questioned Trixey.
"I told her that Razia live in a huge cave that is located at the base of the tallest mountain in the valley," Sela replied. The unicorn turned around and gestured in the direction of the mountain with her horn. "It's not too far from here; you'll spot it as soon as you leave the forest. Please find Luna, I hope you can talk some sense into her."
"Why? What's wrong?" asked Trixey.
"The myths say that if you can pass Razia's test, you get a wish, as I've told you before. What I failed to mention was that if you failed, the dragon will devour you whole!" Kent, suddenly feeling faint, dropped to his side, overwhelmed with the image of a large reptile devouring him. Ignoring the fallen fox, Trixey waited for Sela to continue. "No one has passed her test in a hundred years. Even if she succeeded, I fear she would do something rash."
Trixey, having heard all she needed, nudged into Kent's side. "Come on Kent! We've got to stop Luna!" shouted Trixey. Kent slowly rose to his feet and the two were off, leaving Sela to continue her search for Luke.
Luke laid on his side, letting his depression swallow him up. He, like Luna, rarely left his spot and barely ate anything. For the past few days, Luke desperately wanted to return and apologize to Luna; but he knew that it was only a matter of time until her primal instincts would urge her to kill him. Luna stopped eating meat after she saw how it horrified Luke, but she never developed a taste for vegetation. Luke was unwittingly starving her and driving her instincts wild. Luke started to sob uncontrollably; he missed Luna so much that he felt like a part of him died that dark morning.
Nearby, Sela was strolling through the forest when she heard Luke's cries coming from a knothole in a tree. Unable to ignore a miserable creature, Sela trotted over to the tree and peered inside the knothole to find Luke curled up, crying to himself.
"Luke!" shouted Sela. Luke turned around to see Sela's horned head outside the knothole.
"S-sela?" blubbered Luke, wiping his eyes, "What are you doing here?"
"Luke, you have to come with me!" beckoned Sela, ecstatic that she found the squirrel. "Luna's a gloomy mess without you; she's off to see Razia and probably get herself killed, along with Kent and Trixey if they don't stop her!"
Luke just stared at the animated unicorn, not completely grasping what she had just babbled about. "What in the world are you talking about?" he asked somewhat irritably.
"Okay," Sela began, preparing to recite the myth she had been so accustomed to repeating. "Razia's a giant flying, fire-breathing reptile who grants wishes to whoever passes her test. But if you fail the test, then you're devoured instantly. Your friends went off to stop Luna from getting herself eaten, or making a wish in the state she's in." Luke just sat still, gazing dumbly at the unicorn. Sela sighed, realizing she wouldn't be able to explain everything to Luke in time. "Look, just hop on my back and I'll explain everything on the way there." Sela turned around and eagerly waited for Luke to jump on. "C'mon, let's go!"
But Luke didn't move. The squirrel just stared at the wooden bottom of the knothole. Sela twisted her head around; curious as to why Luke was taking so long. "Luke." She said impatiently, "What are you waiting for? We have to go now!"
"No," Luke muttered, "I can't."
Sela was shocked. "What?! Why?!"
Luke kept staring at the ground. "I can't go to Luna because we're not meant to be together. Luna attacked me because I tried to repress her urge to eat meat." Luke put all of his effort into holding back his tears. "It was stupid to think we could live together. Besides, I know Luna. She wanted pups; I know because she told me not long before that morning. I could never give her pups. She deserves to have whatever she wants. She'll forget all about me, meet another wolf, and start a family. It's for the best."
Sela was absolutely appalled by what Luke said. "Luke, you stupid squirrel!" the unicorn bellowed into the knothole. "Don't you get it?! Luna loves you! All she ever wanted was to be loved by you! She doesn't care that you're not a wolf! You make her happy! She's going to die or make herself even more unhappy because of your selfishness!"
Luke could only cower under the unicorn's glare. "B-but I..."
"You say you want her to be happy, but you took all the joy out of her life when you left!" Sela panted heavily, winded by her fiery outburst. When she finally caught her breath, she calmly gazed down at Luke. "Luke," she said softly, "I know you're scared, and not just for your life. I know you want what's best for Luna, but you're what's best for her. Don't you see?" Luke glanced upwards into the unicorns eyes. "Do you remember Roan? Do you remember how angry I was at him that day we found him? Well, we finally calmed down and we found a way to...compromise." Luke was confused as to what Seal meant. The unicorn sighed heavily. "I let him chose a male partner to join us in our mating and I'll allow him to stick it under my tail as long as he guarantees my orgasm." Luke cringed as a visual image popped into his mind. "The point is that if you truly love someone, you should do everything you can to ensure their happiness. Did Luna make you happy? Do you love her?"
"Yes," murmured Luke.
"Then you should do everything you can to make her happy."
Luke said nothing. The squirrel was so mixed up that he didn't know what to do.
"Luke," begged Sela, "Please. Luna needs you."
Luna stood at the entrance to Razia's lair. The wolf knew what awaited within, but it was of no consequence to her. This was the only way she could grant Luke the happiness he so well deserved, even if it cost her life.
"Luna! Wait!" shouted Trixey and Kent. Luna turned around, stunned that the two foxes had managed to track her down. The two of them approached Luna, panting heavily from their non-stop dash.
"What are you two doing here?" barked Luna, both surprised and irate.
"We...ha...we," panted Kent, coughing and spluttering as he tried to speak.
Trixey inhaled deeply, calming her rapid breathing significantly. "We came to stop you," the vixen replied. "Luna, you're making a big mistake. I know you're upset, but risking your life when it isn't necessary is ridiculous!"
Luna turned her head away from Trixey; she knew nothing of how Luna felt. "I have to do this," Luna muttered solemnly, "Not just for Luke, but for the two of you, as well."
"What...are you talking about?" Kent finally managed to say.
"Razia is the only one who can make things right," cried Luna, snapping her head back to gaze upon her friends with tears in her eyes. Both of the foxes were taken aback by Luna's outburst. "Don't you see? I am as much a threat to the two of you as I am to Luke!"
"But Luna, we," Trixey began, fumbling with her words in the face of the distressed wolf.
"No, don't try to convince me otherwise!" Luna snapped, "You know nothing about what I feel; you, who managed to find a mate who loves you and will stand by your side until the end!" Trixey fell silent, cowering before the wolf in front of her. Luna's face seemed to soften before she immediately started to cry once more. "See? I just did it again! I can't control myself!" Luna let out a ragged breathe of air before resuming. "I don't even know who I am anymore. I tried to change for Luke, for all of you, and for a time, it was working. But I'm a wolf, a creature that doesn't befriend and mate with foxes or squirrels, but rather devours them without a second thought!"
Luna started to shake as she became more and more distraught. "I can never be with Luke, so I'll make it to where he will forget all about me and start a new life. I'll do the same for you, so the two of you can live in happiness without fear of my vicious nature."
Kent and Trixey were dumbfounded; was Luna really willing to walk away from them, taking away all recollection of their travels? "No! Luna, you can't!" cried Trixey, who was now becoming upset, "What about you? What will happen to you?"
Luna steadied her breathing, slowly calming herself down. "I can never forget neither of you nor Luke. I know I can wish it so, but I want to take this as a painful lesson: A lone wolf can never find happiness outside of their pack. The three of you will live your lives in bliss, while I travel the land outside this valley. I will not be accepted into any pack, this I know for sure; the best I can hope for is for a few packs to grant me some food and shelter for a short while, in exchange for becoming the pack bitch. I may never find someone as great as Luke, but at least the three of you will be happy." Before Trixey or Kent could respond, Luna spun around and rushed into the cave.
"Luna, NO!" screamed Kent and Trixey as they dashed after the wolf. Luna and the foxes ran into the cave, weaving in between enormous stalagmites. Suddenly, the cave started to shake, small tremors rippled across the stone floor. A loud, deafening roar shattered the silence within the cave. A large river of fire flowed across the ceiling, cascading soot and heat down upon Luna, Trixey, and Kent.
"Who dares to enter my lair?!" thundered a booming yet feminine voice.
The three mammals stopped dead in their tracks and gazed at the creature slowly approaching them. A massive four-legged reptile stomped through the cave and stopped just a few feet from the bewildered creatures. The dragon was covered in beautiful amethyst scales all over its body; its two powerful wings sprouted from its broad back and were folded to its sides. The dragon's head was supported by a long flexible neck; a long, powerful tail whipped from side to side in annoyance. Two incandescent red eyes gleamed down at the three intruders; the dragon opened its maw slightly, pouring forth a jet stream of blistering air from within its lungs. But what caught the odd company's eyes were the two rows of colossal ivory teeth surrounding a great, dark red river of an extensive, slender tongue.
"I am Razia," announced the dragon, "Guardian of the Mystic Valley. To what do I owe this inconvenient intrusion of my domain?"
Luna, Kent, and Trixey gawked at the incredible creature before them, unable to control their quivering. Finally, Luna stepped up and looked the reptile square in the eye. "I am Luna, and these are my friends; Kent and Trixey."
The dragon scanned over the brave wolf and the cowering foxes with great interest. "I have not seen your faces nor heard your names before in my valley," declared Razia. "How did you happen upon this place?"
Kent, although terribly frightened of the dragon, slowly padded up next to Luna. "I lived in a cave to the west," he managed to say without stuttering. "One day, the floor of my dwelling collapsed and all of us ended up here."
"Hmm," mused Razia, "I thought all the entrances to the valley were sealed long ago; it seems as though I missed one; how fortunate for you." The dragon brought her head down to
the three mammals' level. "What brings you to my cave?"
"Nothing!" blurted out Trixey as she darted in front of Kent and Luna, "We were just sightseeing and we happened to notice this cave and...um..."
"I came to prove myself worthy of your powers, Razia," voiced Luna over Trixey's ramblings.
Kent and Trixey froze, knowing that now Luna could not be deterred from this dangerous situation. Razia glanced over Luna, Trixey, and Kent; the dragon had her suspicions about their intentions, and now she was silently judging them, gazing into their hearts to see if she should even bother with them. The two foxes seemed to have no real desire to take the test, but were willing to do everything they could to aid their friend. What intrigued Razia the most was the wolf that wished to prove herself; the dragon could sense a great sorrow that hung about the lupine like a dark shroud. This wolf was indeed desperate, and nothing could discourage her from accepting the dragon's test.
"Yes," murmured Razia, "I can see your heart's desire; you have a great sadness weighing down your heart. I truly am sorry." Luna nodded in appreciation for the dragon's condolence. "However, for you to ascertain your greatest desire, I must first test you like all the other creatures before you."
"But be warned," hissed Razia, "for if you fail, you will be devoured in an instant." Kent and Trixey started to tremble violently with overwhelming fear; Luna however stood firm. "It is nothing personal," continued the dragon, "it is simply the only way to force creatures to realize that they have the power to alter their lives without my aid."
Luna stared into the two red eyes of the massive dragon, completely devoid of fear. "I understand, but my problem cannot simply be whisked away," Luna declared mournfully. "I will do all I can for my friends' safety, even if it means I die here. I would rather be devoured than have my friends suffer because of me."
Kent and Trixey, mustering up all their courage, padded up next to the wolf. "And we will stand at Luna's side, even if we should fail," announced Kent.
Luna spun around to face the two vulpine. "No, this is my burden," barked Luna, "I will not have you sacrifice your newfound intimacy with each other for me."
Trixey gazed into Luna's eyes defiantly. "Luna, we know we can't force you to change your mind," began the vixen, "but we will not let you do it alone. We're your friends; we owe you everything for bringing us together, so if you won't back down, then neither will we!" Luna wanted to shout at Trixey for being so foolish to throw her life away, but instead she was so touched by her friends' concern all she could do was smile and silently thank them.
"Very well," said Razia, "Do the three of you wish to prove yourselves?" All three of them nodded in unison. "Fine, now I will gaze into your past and create a test for you based on your lives." Razia closed her eyes and began to search through their memories for an interesting challenge.
Luna, Kent, and Trixey sat in anticipation; what would Razia find in their past to test them. Would the dragon force them to travel across some barren wasteland like the charred forest? Perhaps she would task them with retrieving something of value that no creature could ever obtain, similar to their discovery of the Mystic Valley. A thought that frightened Luna would be facing Fang once again; or worse, being forced into some situation where her instincts took over and unable to stop herself from hunting Trixey, Kent, or even Luke.
Razia opened her eyes, a small smile slowly forming on her scaly muzzle. "How interesting," she whispered, "I believe I have formulated a test that I have never issued before." The wolf and the foxes were on edge, waiting for the test that would determine their fate. Razia turned around, nearly slamming her tail into the three mammals, and lowered herself onto her belly. The violet dragon then rolled over onto her back and spread her hind legs, revealing her enormous slit and tail hole. All three creatures gawked at the dragon's incredible orifices, confused as to what Razia had in mind.
"I have seen your lives in the blink of an eye," explained Razia, lifting her head up to gaze down upon her guests with her long neck. "All of you have lived very interesting lives; but what stands out the most is the love you have for each other. That is your greatest strength, and that is what I will be testing, or rather your sexuality." The dragon reached down with one of her scaly hands and delicately placed a claw on her clitoris. "I have not mated in fifty years, so I can say with all honesty that I hope you succeed."
The wolf and the foxes were still shocked by the dragon's demand, but saw it as the easiest challenge they could hope for. "Well...I hope we succeed, too," said Trixey nervously.
"Is that all we have to do?" asked Luna. The wolf knew that the challenge was seemingly easy enough, but something was amiss.
"That is your goal, yes," replied Razia, "But there are a few rules to this trial. You may do whatever you can think of to try and satisfy me, but don't think I'll make it easy for you. I'll give you a fair head start, but when your time is up I will start to please you. If you satisfy me, you will have your wish; if I make all of you come before I do, then you will fail. If one of you comes, you may still continue to aid your friends. Do you understand?" Luna glanced back at Kent and Trixey; the two foxes nodded. Luna returned her gaze to the dragon and bowed her head in acknowledgment. "Good," murmured Razia, "Then you may begin."
Luna whirled around and motioned for Kent and Trixey to come in close. Once they were huddled together, they formulated their strategy. "Okay," whispered Luna, "We have to stimulate as many erogenous areas as possible in order to succeed. Kent," Kent looked up at the wolf, ready for his orders, "since you're the only male, you'll mate her tail hole as roughly as you can; it probably won't hurt her because of her size. Also, if you can reach her vagina with your tongue, then try to lick as much of it as you can." Luna turned to Trixey, "Trixey, you and I will climb up her thighs and lap at her lips. Once she starts to moan, start driving your muzzle as deep as you can into her cunt. I'll do the same thing, but I want you near her clit so you can suckle and nibble on it. Are you guys ready?" The two foxes nodded. "Then let's go." The three friends faced the dragon and slowly approached the base of her tail.
Trixey and Luna hopped up on the tail and made their way to Razia's thighs. Once they reached her thighs, they started to climb up her scales until they found a spot where they could keep their footing and reach Razia's nether lips. Luna and Trixey dipped their heads down and started to lick over the scaly violet lips. Razia murred as the two females' tongues teased her lips; it had been so long since she felt such pleasure.
Trixey lifted her head up from the dragon's lips and carefully stepped towards the clitoris. As soon as she was close enough, Trixey took the dragon's clit in her mouth and began to suckle on it, occasionally nipping it gently while she used her tail to tickle Razia's cunt. Luna continued to lap at the dragon's moist opening, slowly pressing her muzzle deeper into the sensitive folds and spreading the lips apart with her front paws.
While Trixey and Luna pleasure Razia's pussy, Kent made his way to the base of the dragon's tail and stopped in front of her tail hole. Kent listened to Razia's soft moans, inhaled the smell emanating from her cunt, and observed his friend and his lover as they licked and teased the dragon's pussy. The fox's member started to slide free from his sheathe and in seconds was standing erect. Kent placed his paws on Razia's purple thighs and pressed his cock slowly into the dragon's virgin tail hole. Razia gasped as she felt the fox's length sink into her anus; this was certainly something she had never experienced before. Kent pushed himself as deep as possible, hilting himself in her rear. As soon as he had gone as far as he could, he started to recede from her ass, only to drive his cock back into her faster and rougher than before. As his tempo started to increase dramatically, Kent reached out with his tongue and began to lap at the lower portion of the dragon's snatch.
Razia groaned as the three mammals continued to please her; the two females licking and nibbling her sensitive walls and suckling her clit while the male fox pounded into her tail hole and licked her lips gave her so much pleasure she secretly hoped that they succeeded so that she could possibly convince them to visit her regularly on more pleasant terms. The dragon began to buck her hips lightly, giggling as she felt the claws of her lovers scrape against her scales while they held on to her thighs. As much as she was enjoying her treatment, Razia knew that the head start she had granted the odd company had come to an end. Now the dragon must attempt to bring all three of the copulating creatures to an orgasm before they made her come.
Razia lowered her head down to her thighs, using her long, flexible neck to maneuver her face directly behind Trixey. The vixen was completely oblivious to the large scaly head behind her, focusing on the dragon's clit. The dragon opened her jaws and slid her long tongue out, slowly inching it towards her hind legs. Razia took a moment to enjoy the sight of her tongue teasingly floating around the vixen's rear before she thrust her tongue deep into the vulpine's pussy.
Trixey yelped as the draconic tongue invaded her without warning; Kent and Luna shifted their gazes towards Trixey, shocked by the scene before them and doubling their antics, knowing full well that they were running out of time. Trixey tried her best to concentrate on the dragon's clit, but the tongue in her cunt filled her to the brim and massaged all of her most sensitive areas. Trixey moaned around the clit as the dragon began thrusting her tongue in and out of her pussy, flicking the tip over the vixen's clit as it receded from her cunt. Razia grinned as she tongue-fucked the vixen, forcing her tongue so hard and deep into the vulpine cunt that she practically lifted her off her hind legs with each thrust. Trixey fought back her orgasm as hard as she could, but when she felt the sudden increase in temperature around the dragon's tongue inside her pussy, she couldn't stop. The vixen wailed in pleasure as she climaxed all over the heated tongue, collapsing on top of the dragon's thighs, trying to catch her breath and continue to suckle Razia's clit at the same time.
With the vixen teasing her clit temporarily fatigued, Razia shifted her head down towards the male fox thrusting into her ass. Kent could feel the dragon's hot breath behind him and tried his best not to whimper in fear, focusing on the sensation of his cock plunging into the tight tail hole. Razia brought on of her claws up behind Kent and gently scratch his sac. Kent jumped as he felt the claw brush across his balls, but any fear he felt was replaced with bliss as the claw tickled his flesh. Razia continued to tickle the fox's balls, pondering about what else she could do to make the vulpine come. A sly smile formed on her scaly muzzle as an idea formed in her mind.
Razia began to flex her anal muscles, rubbing and kneading the vulpine member within her ass. Kent groaned as the tail hole convulsed around his cock, pounding away into the orifice wildly and lapping at the dripping cunt before him. Razia moaned as Kent picked up the pace, Luna pressed her muzzle as deep as it could into the scaly genitalia, and Trixey resumed her tongue play with the dragon's clit. Kent suddenly tensed up and let out a short bark as he came inside Razia's tail hole. The fox pulled out of the dragon's ass, panting heavily as he laid on top of Razia's tail. Razia cursed to herself; both of the two foxes had come, and now the only one left was the wolf. Razia had truly hoped these creatures would succeed, but unfortunately for everyone it seemed as though the dragon would be forced to devour the odd company.
Luna had witnessed the dragon pleasuring Kent and Trixey, making them come in a matter of minutes. Trixey had managed to catch her breath and resume her task; Kent was spent, but made up for it by scaling the dragon's hips to assist Luna and Trixey in their cunnilingus. Luna was starting to tire as she lapped Razia's cunt desperately; no matter how much the three of them made her moan, they could never send her over the edge. A gust of hot air suddenly blew over the wolf from behind; Luna quivered as Razia opened her mouth and slid out her tongue.
Razia's tongue snaked around Luna's right hind leg, slithering up to the wolf's rear and lightly tickling her clit. Luna whimpered as the tongue flicked over her clit; the dragon was clearly a master of female stimulation, likely brought about by the fact that the dragon had not mated for half a century. Razia pulled her tongue away from the wolf's clit, savoring the taste of her sex, and suddenly rammed her tongue deep inside the lupine cunt, causing Luna to yelp in pleasure.
The dragon's tongue slowly pumped in and out of Luna's pussy, teasing and satisfying the wolf's depths. Kent and Trixey watched in fear as Razia tongued the only one among them who had not climaxed yet, putting all their energy into the massive cavern of the dragon's insatiable cunt. Razia was not completely numb to the efforts, the foxes and the wolf had done a far better job than she had initially predicted. If it weren't for her long, flexible tongue and her experimentation with her own cunt, the foxes would've lasted longer.
Luna couldn't focus on the dragon's snatch; the great tongue filled her completely and stroked ever sensitive spot within her cunt. But what really doomed Luna to fail was her lust for Luke; throughout the few days she had spent sinking into a black abyss of depression her thoughts always turned to the squirrel she loved. The wolf would reminisce about all the fun times they had together, which inevitably led to the memories of how great a lover Luke was. But Luna never turned to Kent or Trixey for satisfaction; if she did, she would've betrayed Luke even more so than she previously had. Luna began to whimper as her orgasm approached; the dragon's tormenting tongue stoking the fire in between her legs. "Soon, it will all be over," Luna thought to herself, "I have lost everything and I have doomed my friends to a fate that only I should accept. It was foolish, but I just wanted you to be happy...my love..."
"Luna!" cried a voice from the cave entrance.
Luna, Kent, and Trixey halted their oral performances and stared at the cave entrance in awe; Razia also stopped her tongue-fucking to see who this new intruder was. A small figure scampered into the cave, weaving between the stalagmites with great speed. As the creature came closer, Kent and Trixey couldn't help but smile as they recognized the silhouette in the dim light. Luna gazed down at the creature as it came to a halt before the four of them, staring right back up at the wolf. Luna's heart began to beat faster and faster; tears started to well up in her eyes, but they were not tears of sorrow. The wolf smiled and emitted a quiet sob as the outline became more defined to her, forming that of a squirrel.
"Luke!" Luna cried out.
Kent managed a small laugh despite the circumstances. "Heh, took you long enough. Kind of caught us at a bad time, you did."
Trixey face beamed as Luke came into view, overjoyed that the squirrel had finally returned. "Luke! It's you!" the vixen exclaimed. "You're starting to get a bad habit of appearing when our lives are at stake, but I can chalk that up to your good qualities."
Luke glanced at the two foxes, flashing them small smiles as he faced them. The squirrel returned his gaze to the wolf on top of the dragon's thighs; Luke's heart was filled with both joy and guilt, but he was no longer afraid of Luna.
"Luke," muttered Luna, stifling her sobs, "is it really you?"
"Yes," replied Luke softly, "I'm here Luna."
"Please," begged the wolf, "leave while you can. You don't know what's-"
"I do, Luna," Luke interrupted, "Sela told me everything; Razia, the wish, what I did to you." Luke flattened his ears and lowered his gaze; the squirrel didn't feel worthy enough to even look at his lover. "I left you out of fear...I stayed away from you because I thought you would be better off without me. But I did not consider your feelings, or my own for that matter. I love you Luna, more than anything else in the world." Luna's heart skipped a beat and the wolf shut her mouth tight in an attempt to hold back another sob. "But I've hurt you, and I don't have any right to ask you to accept me as your mate, again. But I will not let you die for my mistake. My mistake, Luna. Not yours; never yours. All I can say is that I'm sorry; you must truly hate me for what I did."
"Luke," Luna whispered, "I forgive you." Luke slowly gazed upwards, his eyes starting to slowly light up. "All I ever wanted was to be with you," Luna said with a sniff, "I would do anything for you, Luke. That's why I'm in this situation, now. I love you, Luke."
Before anyone could say anything else, Razia unleashed a wave of fire up towards the ceiling, attracting everyone's attention back to the amethyst reptile. "Who are you?" boomed Razia, irritated that this newcomer had interrupted her pleasure, "What do you want?"
Luke straitened up and stared into the dragon's fiery red eyes. "I am Luke," the squirrel shouted to ensure the dragon could hear him, "I've come to end this challenge."
Razia snorted and a black cloud of smoke poured forth from her nostrils. "No challenge can be ended until the challengers succeed or fail."
"Then I wish to help my friends," shouted Luke, "Please allow me the chance to spare them the fate I unwittingly forced upon them."
Razia brought a claw under her chin, lightly scratching herself as she pondered the squirrel's request. If she allowed the squirrel to join in the challenge, the chances of the odd company succeeding would increase; Razia would devour them without a second thought, but she still wished it wouldn't come to that. On the other hand, what could a squirrel do that a fox or a wolf can't do? But since the squirrel was close to the three challengers, she decided that the squirrel could join.
"Very well," announced Razia, "You may assist your friends in pleasuring me. But you will also share their fate if you fail. Do you still wish to accept this challenge?"
"Yes," Luke answered, a fierce, determined look flared in his eyes.
As soon as Luke had answered, Razia and the odd company recommenced their trial. Luna and Kent stuffed their tongues back into the dragon's sweet crevice, Trixey placed the draconic clit into her mouth and bit and slurped the huge nub as hard as she could, and Razia thrust her lengthy tongue deep into Luna's cunt once more. Luna whimpered into the dragon's cunt as the tongue brought her dangerously close to her orgasm. Luke nimbly scaled the dragon's thighs and stood next to Luna and the foxes. "What are we going to do," mumbled Trixey around the huge clit, "Razia's close, but she's going to make us all come before we can get her off."
"We've tried everything," shouted Kent, his muzzle coated with juices, "And we still can't make her come!"
Luna legs began to buckle as the dragon's tongue pounded into her pussy with an incredible force. "Ah! L-Luke," she panted as her climax approached, "I-I'm sorry for...Ahh...this."
Luke placed a paw to her cheek and slowly caressed the wolf's face. "Don't worry, darling," he whispered into her ear, "I've got an idea." Luke whirled around to face Trixey. "Trixey! Keep biting and licking that clit with all you got! Try to use your tail to tickle her flesh!" Trixey nodded and doubled her efforts, using her tail to stroke across the scaly nether lips. "Kent! Luna!" Luke shouted as he turned to face the two mammals currently driving their muzzles into the dragon's cunt, "Slurp as hard as you can, but also try and spread her lips as much as possible!" Kent and Luna obliged, pulling the draconic lips apart as they continued to lick the sensitive flesh. Luna let out a muffled moan as the tongue buried in her cunt pressed as hard as possible and the wolf came all over the great appendage. Razia pulled her tongue out slowly; sampling the wolf's cum as she stared down at the squirrel.
"Now it's your turn," she said half-heartedly, "I wish it didn't have to end like this."
"Oh no it's not!" Luke shouted with a wicked grin on his face. With that said the squirrel darted towards the dragon's stretched out cunt and started to push his head and paws into the large orifice. Razia gasped as the squirrel's upper body penetrated her cunt, sending a surge of pleasure throughout her body. Luke began to push himself into the draconic pussy, the heat within almost unbearable to the squirrel. But with knowledge that the dragon was greatly enjoying this and the concept of a smaller creature pleasuring a huge dragon arousing him, he pressed onwards, determined to make the dragon come so hard she'll pass out.
Razia couldn't believe what was happening; a squirrel had dived into her cunt and was now tormenting her from within! The dragon had never felt this kind of pleasure before and was taken completely by surprise. Razia clawed into the ground as the squirrel crawled deeper and deeper into her sex, rocking her hips slowly. The three friends outside saw how much the dragon was enjoying Luke's surprising treatment and for the first time started to truly enjoy the challenge.
"You like that?" shouted Kent.
"Aww," cooed Trixey, briefly removing her muzzle from the clit as she slowly stroked it with her paw, "Does the big dragon like that?"
Even Luna, after her mind-blowing orgasm, managed to tease the moaning dragon. "Come on, sweetey," she teased, "Come for us! That's right."
Meanwhile, Luke had gone as far as he could go and started to thrash about in the confined space, licking and humping every inch of the dragon's inner walls. Luke's tail brushed against Razia's g-spot and immediately the dragon flung her head to the ground and bucked her hips into the air with the three mammals outside hanging on for dear life but not stopping their antics. Luke grinned as he positioned himself on top of the dragon's sweet spot and began to lick it roughly, making the dragon moan pitifully. After a few licks, Luke's member emerged from his sheathe and stood at full attention. Without interrupting his slurping, Luke ground his hips into the dragon's g-spot, completely filled with lust and determination.
Razia screamed as Luke humped her most erogenous area. The dragon dug her claws deep into the stone floor, stomped her scaly hind paws into the ground, bucked her hips wildly into the air, and thrashed her long tail all about the cave. Juices started to flood the fleshy cavern as Luke rubbed against the sensitive flesh. Know that the dragon was close; Luke allowed his climax to escalate to the breaking point. In one last movement, Luke bit into the flesh as hard as he could and rammed his cock against the erogenous spot. Razia roared in pleasure and unleashed a river of fire from her mouth as she came, the flames and smoke pouring out of the cave and into the sky. The tunnel suddenly convulsed and squeezed the squirrel as hot juices poured from the climaxing pussy. With a grunt, Luke came all over the dragon's g-spot, clenching onto the flesh as he rode out the orgasm.
Finally, Razia came down, exhausted from her earth-shattering climax. Kent, Trixey, and Luna crowded around the dragon's leaking cunt and stuck their paws and muzzles inside, feeling around for Luke. Luna felt a furry paw brush over her nose and she gently bit down onto the squirrel's arm and pulled him out of the scaly orifice. Luke was completely soaked with juices and smelled of hot dragon cum. All three of them cheered and nuzzled into Luke, licking his fur clean of the copious juices.
"You did it, Luke!" shouted Kent.
"You were amazing!" exclaimed Trixey.
Luke smiled back at the two foxes before turning to face Luna. The two of them just stared at one another, not saying a word. Slowly, the two of them approached each other and Luna lowered her muzzle down as Luke hugged her face, petting her fur and kissing her nose.
"You saved me, again," murmured Luna.
"I would do anything for you, Luna," replied Luke as he kissed her nose. Before anything else could be said, a pair of scaly hands closed around the four of them. The odd company panicked as they felt the dragon rise up and clumsily walk deeper into the cave on her hind legs. The four of them clung to one another, fearing that the dragon would devour them even though they passed the test.
The next thing they knew, the hands parted and the four friends slid out of her clutches and onto a stone slab. All four of them looked around, gawking at the change of scenery. They were on a flat, stone surface surrounded by water; there was no light to be seen except for some color lights near the top of the cave. With a second glance, all of them could see several rocky pillars rising up to the black abyss above; at the top of each pillar a bright crystal shined through the darkness, each crystal a different color from the rest. The earth started to quake and Razia appeared from the veil of darkness.
"Well done," Razia boomed with a smile on her face, "you have succeeded where others have failed! You have passed my challenge and done me a great favor." The odd company finally relaxed, thankful that the dragon was true to her word. "Now," the amethyst dragon continued, "I shall grant one of you your heart's greatest desire; who shall make their wish?"
The odd company looked at one another in anticipation; since Luke's return, all thought of making a wish had left their minds. Trixey and Kent had no desire to make a wish since they already had each other; after all, it was because of the drama between Luke and Luna that brought them all here. The squirrel and the wolf just stared at one another, gazing into each other's eyes as if they were searching for an answer.
"Luke," whispered Luna, "I have to tell you something." The wolf closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I came here to erase all of our adventures from your mind, as well as Kent and Trixey's."
Luke was taken aback. "But why, Luna? What good would that do?"
"It would allow the three of you to move on without me," Luna said, fighting back her sorrow. "I would never want to forget you, so I would be the only to have any recollection of our time together. Luke...I almost killed you that night...I can't live with the knowledge that I could turn on you just like that. Something must be done."
Luke placed a paw on the wolf's cheek. "Luna, I love you more than I can possibly tell you. I never truly wanted to leave you; I thought that you would be happier without me. I know you want pups," Luke muttered. Luna's ears lowered in disgrace, remembering that night after their encounter in the grotto when the two of them shared their past and their dreams. Luke placed a small kiss on her cheek. "I was selfish to leave you Luna, so let me make it up to you."
Luna gazed at the squirrel, confused as to what he meant. "What are you saying, Luke?"
"I'm saying that I have a solution to our problems; your dreams, the instincts, my inability to defend myself." Luke smiled up at the wolf. "Let me grant a wish...for you."
Luna couldn't say anything for a short time. "What will you do? I don't want to lose you."
Luke gave her a final stroke on her cheek. "I will never leave you again, Luna. I will make everything right; I will wish it so we can be together with no complications because of who we are. Please...trust me. Let me give you a gift that can only be made real through Razia's power."
Luna thought long and hard, worrying that Luke would do something that he would regret. As she thought, the wolf realized how selfish she was to try and make Luke forget about her. With that, Luna decided to allow Luke to make the wish.
"I trust you Luke," Luna said with a smile, "I love you so much."
"And I, you." Whispered Luke.
Luke turned away from Luna and the foxes and faced the great violet dragon. "Razia!" shouted Luke at the top of his lungs, "I shall make the wish! Please grant me my heart's desire!"
Razia lowered her head and gazed into Luke's eyes; past the fearless eyes and deep into the courageous heart that thumped within his chest. Once she could see his desire she raised her head back up. "I have seen your greatest desire. But know that once the wish is made it cannot be reversed. Do you still want to continue? There is no rush; think over your choice."
Luke approached the edge of the water and gazed down at his reflection. As he stared at his watery double, Luke's entire life flashed before his eyes. From the first day of life, Luke had lived a blessed life with his mother and siblings. Luke remembered how he used to play with his older brothers as his mother watched from afar. Luke's life was perfect; until one day his mother fell ill and died a few days later. She went peacefully, and managed to say her good-byes as her eyes closed for the last time. Luke remembered one of the last things she had told him: Live your life, find true love, and never doubt what your heart desires. From that day forward, after his brothers had left the nest for regions far away, Luke's life was a blur, until the day he met Luna.
Luna...
Luke stared up at the dragon, his heart pounding in his chest.
"I've made my decision. I chose to follow my heart."
Sorry this came out so late; I get side-tracked really easy and...Ooo! Whazat?! Anyway, please vote and comment; I enjoy reading what you have to say. The series finale will come sooner that this one did.
