Sex Life Twenty-Four Seven: An Old Friend
#4 of Sex Life
Just practicing my writing :)
Cage felt an unpleasant numbness surge through his arm after taking a short nap, pressuring it between his forehead and the table. He lifted his head, which was surprisingly a rather hard thing to do and acknowledged the time: 8 o'clock.
"Damn..." He shook his hand rapidly in small swings to relieve his arm of the odd feeling. The wolf couldn't help but shudder after catching a glimpse of the mess around him - books, pencils and other school accessories seemed to be scattered on the floor reminding him that he was supposed to be studying.
The room he was in was actually rather tidy and gave the impression that it was cleaned frequently - that is, if one disregarded the little mishap surrounding Cage. The bed, rich with white and pink colors was neatly made and there were no clothes laying around scrambled, not even a single empty pet bottle could be found. One could almost assume that it was definitely not a teenager residing in such a place.
The faint echo of the door closing made him turn his head.
"Cage, I'm not going to tell you twice, stop loitering in my room. Did you finish the task?" Chloe sighed, picking up one of the textbooks that was laying around on the carpet. She sat down on her knees on one side of the small table that was in the middle of her room. Cage, who was on the other side of the table, mumbled in response.
"I can't...If I have to read something in Spanish again I'll definitely have a seizure. If only the language in Spain was as awesome as their women..."
"Oh..? If only you'd use your brains and not your dick to think then maybe we wouldn't be doing this in the first place." Chloe remarked in an uncaring tone.
"Man...you forced me to do this in the first place. Stop complaining." Cage countered whilst scratching the back of his neck. He then noticed that Chloe had a towel wrapped around her -which made sense, since she had just taken a shower. Cage took a second to admire the sight of his cousins wet fur which would just about probably make anyone at his school go crazy in an instant.
"Em...you don't wanna put some clothes on? I mean...em, you got like, a guy here-"
"Who wants to assault me? How original. Your creativity seems to have suffered just as much as your intellect." Chloe broke him off, carefully brushing her white fur with a brush. She didn't even try to look into Cages direction, seemingly oblivious to his angered expression. He was getting rather fed up with the familiar scene where he once witnessed Chloes attitude problems - since it happened every time.
"You know - every time I come over to study - which one-hundred percent of the time, mind you, is because of you forcing me to do it - it always gets to the point where Miss.Perfect starts to cry about my apparently low IQ. Now to the question - are you a masochist?" Cage let his upper body fall onto the carpet behind him. He closed his eyes. "I wasn't born for this. My mind is being raped. Good night."
Chloe couldn't help but giggle in response and her childish grudge was swept away in no time. She actually wasn't willing to study any further herself, since they had been doing so since five o'clock.
"By the way." She remembered something she had wanted to ask since school.
"Hm?? What?" Cage lifted his head shortly.
"Does Jason like me?" Chloe asked. Cages head dropped back down onto the floor as soon as he heard the question, as if in disappointment.
"Like...do you seriously need my confirmation on something like that? I think it's obvious." Cage casually spoke his thoughts. "I think the better question is: who doesn't like you?"
"Jealous?" Chloe provoked in a seductive tone. Cage know she was trying to tease him.
"Well, to be fair...It does piss one of when a bunch of people keep ogling your close relative."
"Hmm..." Chloe poked her chin with her finger. She was well aware of her popularity in school. She
"Am I imagining things or have you finally taken an interest in one of your fan boys?"
"Ugh...Cage, please...be realistic." Chloe proceeded to polish her nails, squinting her eyes in the process. Cage laughed.
"I thought as much. At least my imagination hasn't suffered."
"That guy seriously should consider showering more often. Gross." Chloe rolled her eyes, remembering how the poor guy had tried to ask her something but couldn't quite bring himself to make a comprehensible statement. She didn't even want to know how long he had waited by the school gates to get his chance to speak to her.
"That's it? Well okay...sweaty guys aren't the best. A hot chick after a work out on the other hand..." Cage smiled. He then felt something hit his face rather hard. A book. "AGH! W-what was that for man!?"
"Seriously, what's wrong with you today? Your perversion is surpassing its limits." Chloe acted like she hadn't done anything, still occupied with her nails.
"Ahh....whatever..."
"Do you seriously like it if a girl sweats? I mean I know you have some weird fetishes but-"
"Ey, it's just the natural scent of a female you know, it kind of makes a man tingle. I don't mean girls who don't wash themselves for ages or something like that I mean like, right after some physical training - like in sports class. It's somewhat alluring." Cage put his hands under his head, keeping his eyes shut. "Anyways, if you think about it, centuries ago people didn't clean themselves at all - so I guess you had to be optimistic about it."
"You sound almost like you're regretting the fact you weren't born back then. I'll be sure to take a safety shower from now on before meeting up with your type...Say, you're starting to creep me out Cage."
Cage felt amused.
"Say what thy shall - It's still the natural scent of a women. You can't deny nature." He said. Chloe
"Really now? I thought men always considered something else under that meaning." The female put everything down beside her, slowly standing up. Cage was still oblivious as to what she was doing.
"Well, you thought wrong- praise me for clearing this up for you." He let out a mighty yawn, showing his set of sharp teeth. "And with that, I conclude this lecture of yours truly over. I-"
He couldn't finish his sentence in time, feeling sudden pressure on his chest. He opened his eyes.
"So...care to lecture me one more time?" Chloe shifted her weight to her behind, now sitting on her cousin's stomach. She pressed her knees together which were on either sides of Cages body. He observed her beautiful upper half which was directly in front of him, the sweet smell of the apple flavored shampoo tingling his nose. Chloes expression showed him that she was willing, and rather lustful.
"Em...you know..it's rather hard-"
The sudden noise of a doorknob turning paralyzed Cages senses instantly.
"Hey kids-"
Cage moaned in pain as something hard smashed across his face. It felt like somebody had tried to tear off his nose. He slowly opened his eyes, still in a stupefied state, to meet Chloes grinning expression. It seemed like she was holding something thick, which Cage then recognized as his Spanish vocabulary book. He turned his head towards the door, following Chloes gaze.
His uncle Martin, a gray wolf was apparently amused by the scene.
"Ouch...isn't that a harsh way to help someone with his studies?" he asked. Chloe joked in response.
"Sorry Dad...but you know Cage. Just telling him isn't enough haha....had to wake him up." She faked a laugh. Cage, as hard as it was, also forced a smile. His nose was still hurting.
"Well anyways I just wanted to let you two know that me and mom will be off. We'll be back tomorrow, around lunchtime I presume. You have your key Chloe?"
"Yep."
"Well then, we're off." Uncle Martin disappeared as fast as he had come.
"Bye Dad!"
....
......
............
"That hurt." Cage touched his nose and acknowledged that doing so was painful. Chloe blushed, trying to make up for it by stroking his facial fur in a sort of worried panic.
"Sorry! I just..argh! He came in so suddenly-"
"It's okay, it's okay...no problem." Cage assured her, getting up as soon as Chloe hurriedly sprang up to search for a handkerchief. He stretched his arms, trying not to think about the pain that was pulsing through his face.
He checked his pockets.
"Oh...I forgot to buy cigarettes."
Cage opened the fresh pack of cigarettes and stuck one into his mouth, proceeding to inhale the second patch of smoke after lighting it.
He was at the train station, which was practically deserted given the time of day it was. It was dark and rather cold, and the distant cries of troublemakers under alcohol influence didn't exactly give one the sense of comfort. But Cage didn't care, since he was one of them once.
His reason for being out so late at night was his smoking addiction. He had told Chloe that he would take a walk home and get some of his things to stay over at her place, which was believable, since they didn't live that far away from each other, not wanting to get lectured about how dangerous it was going to the station when it was dark. He needed to go, because the only place where one could buy cigarettes past ten o'clock was at the station bar which was open 24 Hours. The owner was some kind of foreigner who couldn't even speak English - Cage found him rather amusing though, even considered him a friend to some extent since it was the only place he could rely on for guaranteed tobacco these past years.
After surveying the station, reminiscing on the good old times he used to hang out with his friends and do all kinds of mischief, he turned around to leave.
"Well what do you know - if it isn't my boy Cage. What the fuck are you doing here?"
Initially surprised, Cage laughed after realizing that the one approaching him was someone he knew all too well. Leather jacket, facial piercing, that bulky build and belligerent impression he gave off couldn't be anyone else Cage knew.
"Arkhan... where the hell have you been?" They both grabbed each other's hand to share a rather intense shoulder check. Cage then proceeded to greet the other two wolfs present with a nod.
"I'm always around. It's you who hasn't shown up around these places. How's life?"
"What a question. Okay, I guess."
The smoke Arkhan exhaled weathered around his face.
"Having any trouble? Need some help? You sound like something's bothering you."
"Nah it's okay, just need to graduate and all. Other than that, everything's fine." Cage made sure to reassure his friend that he didn't need help, since Arkhan was somebody who was loyal and willing to do anything to his closest friends. He was the type who wouldn't hesitate to jump into the fire for anyone he held dear. Arkhan and Cage were more than just friends, they even considered each other brothers in the past. But that was...a long time ago.
"So...what the fuck are we standing around for? Come on Cage, since we're here already, might as well join us. I just got some good shit from my cousin - you feel me?"
"Nah..come on it's late-"
"The fuck is wrong with you?" Arkhan hit Cage on the shoulder jokingly. "Quit whining, let's do this."
The remnant thoughts of going home left Cages head. He followed Arkhan and his two henchmen.
"Whatever..."
"Damn..."
Cage had a hard time taking off his shoes in the entryway. He felt lucky that his aunt and uncle hadn't closed the house door. He had actually thought about going home and resting there like always, but he knew that Chloe would be mad in the morning if she found out that he hadn't come back to her place. He readied himself to go up the stairs and make his way towards the guest room. That was the place where he stayed every time he stayed over.
He tried to make as less noise as possible, but it was impossible. He had already managed to stumble on some slippers which were placed in front of Chloe's room, resulting in a loud thud against the wall as he tried to stabilize himself against it.
He realized again how high he was, since this anxious feeling that something bad might happen tingled through his spine like. He couldn't let Chloe see him in the state he was right now. On the other hand, he knew perfectly well that it was just him being paranoid.
"Ah shiiiit...." Cage stood still for a couple of seconds to make sure that nobody had woken up. After agreeing with his inner self that he was out of the danger zone, he proceeded to tip toe towards the end of the corridor.
The sound of a door quietly screeching open stopped him dead in his tracks. The light coming from the room slightly illuminated the corridor. There was no escape; he knew that he had been exposed either way.
"Cage. Where were you? It's two o'clock"
Chloe's voice was strict. Cage turned around with a juvenile grin on his face, knowing that he was going to be scolded for coming home this late. He couldn't think clearly to start with, and it was even harder to think of an answer that would satisfy his Chloe. His cousin stood there with an unyielding glare, crossing her arms whilst she awaited his answer.
"Em...haha..." His thoughts seemed to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. "I'm goin, you know...I'm tired." Cage wanted to avoid a discussion and abruptly turned around.
"Cage, come here for a second." The white wolf slowly disappeared into her room, leaving the door open. Cage followed, not that he had a choice.
"Fuck..."
He closed the door behind him, avoiding eye contact with Chloe who was standing under the lamp which was mounted to the ceiling. He knew what she wanted to see: His eyes.
"Come here." She pointed at the space in front of her.
"Man..." Cage knew retaliation was futile and as one would say - accepted his fate. He looked into her eyes, only then realizing how angry she actually was. There was a moment of silence before Chloe bent her head down in what seemed to be disappointment.
"You promised." She said, nearly whispering. The impending sorrow in her tone was definitely there. "Did you hang out with him again? It was him...right?" It was obvious who she meant. Arkhan. He was probably the only person with whom Cage would still willingly hang around this late on do such things.
"Man...We just talked about this and that you know...I haven't seen him in a long time."
"Cage, you lied to me. Not only that you come home this late. And to top it all off you broke our promise." Cage stayed silent. "I'm not going to let you get involved with the likes of him again."
Cage felt old forgotten anger ignite in his chest. He hated it when people looked down at his old friends. The corner of his mouth twitched.
"Why do you have to be like that all the fucking time man? He's my brother. I've changed, and he has too. Stop judging him by shit he did long ago." Chloe shook her head in protest, gesturing her denial by swing her in front of her.
"Cage you KNOW what I'm talking about. You know what he did-"
"And what I did. Man this...is so retarded. This is going nowhere, and I'm tired." Cage prepared to leave.
"So he's your brother, huh? And I'm just the slut who you have sex with."
"Now where the hell did that come from? Are you making me choose or something? Because I'm not going to. And don't call yourself that...we've talked about it already a hundred of times." Cage was starting to feel frustrated, and Chloe gave off a hostile impression.
"Because! You lie to me, you can't even spend one normal evening with me at my house, and here I am waiting like a complete idiot for you to come home only to find out you went out smoking drugs with your 'brother'. You promised me you wouldn't involve yourself with him again! You promised Cage!" She shouted, letting it all out. Chloe abruptly turned around, avoiding Cages eyes. Volume in her voice sank as she spoke her next words. "Sometimes I think it would've been better if he had stayed in his coma."
Cage had definitely heard enough. Something clicked within his head.
"You know, maybe you are just someone I have sex with. Just a fucking...." He couldn't finish what he wanted to say. Something tugged at his chest. It was painful. It was painful just by thinking that he was about to say something like that. He left the room in silence without bothering to close the door.
He quickly made his way out of the house, jumping into his shoes along the way. Somehow, he didn't feel high anymore. Not after that discussion which reminded him of old scars he had long forgotten. Once outside he took a deep breath of fresh air in hopes of clearing his mind.
He felt really bad. Chloe probably knew what he was about to say back there. He didn't feel like that about her. She was a very important person in his life, even though he didn't like to admit it in front of others.
It was just the fact that she had crossed the line. Nobody should make jokes about such things.
How could she say that about Arkhan?
After thinking about it for a while, he still felt rather uncomfortable. The cigarette he had lighted a moment ago was already burning the filter without him even noticing.
She's just worried about me....I guess...I can't really blame her for that, can I? Man I'm such a dick.
He felt the cool breeze brush through his fur, remembering his grandfather's words.
"I'm...sorry."
Cage felt like an idiot, but he knew he was doing the right thing. He stood in Chloes room whilst the female was standing by the window, staring into the infinite darkness outside. He had noticed while coming in that the door was still open and that Chloe probably hadn't moved since he had left. She seemed to be lost in thought, her arms still crossed.
No response.
"I..didn't want to say what I did. It's just that Arkhan is still a good friend of mine. I was hoping you could understand that."
There was still no response. Chloes stance didn't change and Cage didn't know if he had achieved anything at all. He knew what he had to say.
"And I don't like to choose anybody...I think you're all important. But even so..." Cage sighed, lending his voice some warmth knowing that his next words were coming from his heart. "You're probably the last person I'd ever want to lose. So, yeah...."
That was all he could do. After a brief silence her heard Chloes voice, which was as calm and silent as ever.
"I'm..." Cage wasn't sure if had even heard anything at all. It was rare witnessing his cousin acting so fragile. "Sorry..."
He caught his balance as Chloe dove into his chest, hiding her face. They both hugged each other. There was no sobbing, no, but an extended sigh of relief brushed by her tender lips.
"You were so distant back then...a completely different person. One who didn't care about anything, not even about himself." Chloe whispered. Cage knew what she meant - he hadn't forgotten how he lived without any perspective whatsoever back then.
"I'm not going back to that man." He stroke her hair. "Trust me."
