Magic Mishaps Part 1

This is part one of what is probably gonna be a four part series. I wanted to start a more long-term thing but don't really know where I want to go with it just yet so this is how I'm going to scratch the itch to start something new.

No fun stuff in this one but there will be a lot of domming later on. Probably none of the kinkier stuff but definitely some of the things I've been playing around with. Like food play or somnophilia cause I've really been wanting to write more of that.

Either way, I hope you enjoy!

P.S. Let me know if it'd be better to put this in it's own folder or if I should just leave it as is.

P.P.S. If I forgot any tags, feel free to add them.

Knowledge was the world's greatest source of power. With enough of it one could tear down fortresses and destroy entire kingdoms with a flick of their wrist. Years of preparation and research had given Zyir everything he needed to forge a demonic pact.

He drew the magic circles and gathered his materials, his hands full of rare and incredibly expensive items. Eerie energy filled his ritual room, making him reconsider how ready he really was but it was too late to doubt himself now. This was his best chance to get the spell right and summon a demon worth his time and efforts.

Colorful sparks of light appeared as he chanted words from his spellbook. Everything was going perfectly until he botched the final part of the ritual that was meant to close the connection between his realm and the demon's. Arcs of electric malevolence cracked the brick walls and floors, a large canine emerging from the ground followed by a feline of similar size a few seconds later.

Zyir's mind was clouded by fear and in a fit of desperation he threw a ball of arcane energy at the invited intruders. The spell bounced harmlessly off the chest of the canine and hit a vital section of his magic circle, effectively ending the spell prematurely. He had solved one problem but most likely created an even worse one. If he had destroyed the part of the circle responsible for keeping his guests trapped then he now had two beings of extraordinary power roaming freely in his home.

His breathing came to a standstill when the canine opened it's mouth and interrogated him with an icy gaze. "Why have you brought me here, boy?"

There were no words Zyir could say that would satisfy the wolflike creature and he knew that displeasing either of the demons would be a surefire way to meet a very slow and painful death. A cold bead of sweat travelled down his brow, he needed to say something or he'd die anyways.

"I-I…" Zyir stammered, failing to answer his irritated questioner.

"Don't be so mean, he's clearly new to summoning and his try is commendable," the feline interjected. It's voice was incredibly soothing compared to the gruff and angry canine. "What is your name darling?"

With a quick swipe of his forearm against his sweat covered forehead, he gulped down the bile rising in his throat and managed to respond. "My n-name is Zyir and I… I brought you here to make a pact."

"If you wanted to make a pact then why did you summon two of us?" growled the canine in an accusatory tone. "Are you so incompetent that you can't even get us here?"

"Don't mind her Zyir. She gets grouchy whenever she's awakened during the day," the feline assured him, calmly walking towards him before the circle stopped her.

"I'm Sol, goddess of the sun and the world's caretaker. I'm also the demon of fire and destruction, punisher of good and evil alike," she added with a flick of her tail and an aura of pride surrounding her.

Zyir knew that the line between gods and demons was thin but he'd never once considered that they were one in the same. This explained a lot of the missing pieces in his studies. His excitement momentarily overpowered him before loud steps drove fear deep into his heart.

"I am Luna," the canine began while sitting down and giving Sol a reproachful look. "My domain is the night."

Out of all the things he could've summoned, he had managed to get two of the three primal entities that were responsible for all of creation and they were in his basement. From what he could remember, Sol was known for being kind to those who extended that kindness back and Luna tended to despise any actions that could be seen as disrespectful. Neither were known to be patient with idiots who attacked them and Zyir had done just that.

"My goddess, I offer my sincerest apologies for my prior disrespect. If my actions have offended you then I shall accept any punishment," Zyir stated, knowing that Luna adored being pandered to.

Her demeanor changed immediately and her eyes softened as they passed over Zyir's kneeling form. A smile graced Luna's mouth while a frown formed on Sol's. The two did not like each other and hated not being the center of attention.

"Seems you have at least a little bit of decency," Luna praised Zyir with a much mellower tone. "No punishment is in order today."

"So which one of us do you want to make a pact with, young mage?" Sol asked as she stood between Zyir and Luna, blocking their view of one another.

Now that he wasn't in immediate danger of dying, Zyir gave them a thorough look. Sol had a bright coat full of warm colors and markings that made her seem like the picturesque definition of benevolence and godhood. Her golden eyes filled with affection and a curiosity that made her astoundingly alluring. Luna on the other hand was the definition of strength and silent intelligence, runes of silvery light adorning her dark grey fur and giving off an impression of elegance. The way she managed to simultaneously be a towering force and austere pinnacle of intellect with her moonlike eyes was a distinct contrast to her feline counterpart.

They made him feel very small with their graceful movements and flawless pelts, making Zyir unsure as to whether or not he preferred dying now or later when they inevitably put him in the middle of their millenia long feud.

"Can't I choose both?" Zyir practically begged, feeling the miniscule chance he might survive growing further and further away.

"No," the goddesses answered in unison.

"It's been centuries since someone last made a deal with one of us and I'm not about to let that charlatan," Sol snapped, pointing at Luna, "take the first person to summon me here. The blazing stars in the night sky will go out before I ever consider sharing with her."

"We've been alive for millions of years and I have never heard a dumber idea or been so blatantly insulted before," Luna barked at Zyir.

The furious leers he was receiving from them made Zyir regret having ever learned magic. If this was their reaction now then he was definitely not going to survive rejecting one of them for the pact.

"What if I choose neither," Zyir mistakenly asked the deities, prompting further aggression from both.

He didn't stick around to hear them yell and bolted from the room the moment he saw his magic circle crumbling beneath their power. Sol and Luna stared at the open door he'd escaped from in a mixture of anger and awe, they turned to each other with their mouths agape at his insolence.

"Should we go after him?" Luna prompted her feline adversary.

"No, no, that would just scare him even more," Sol sighed. She rested her head gently on Luna's flank and closed her eyes. "We should wait for him to come back on his own."

"Fine," Luna agreed, laying her own head on Sol's.

Zyir ran outside his sanctuary and kept on running until one of the pebbles on the dirt path betrayed it's murderous intentions. He shrieked as he fell to the ground, cursing his bad luck and the demons that were sure to consume his soul for the way he'd just abandoned them. They were strong enough to shatter his defenses and he was an idiot for thinking that he could contain them. It was obvious now that they had indulged Zyir's spell for the sake of being polite rather than actually being trapped. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't go back and he couldn't get rid of them. In one moment, he'd lost the favor of the strongest gods in existence.

"Gods damn it!" he yelled to no one in particular, brushing the dust from his clothes. "That's it. If I'm going to die I'm doing it on my own terms."

Rage replaced terror and Zyir stomped back to his house. The shock from everything had made him irrational.

He burst into the ritual room and opened his mouth to dig himself further into the afterlife but only managed to stare at the feline sleeping beneath Luna as she too slept with Sol acting as a pillow. Zyir needed a drink and hopefully it would kill him before they did.
