#68 of Iron Dragon

The trip home was quick and neither Nodrog or Roslyn said anything about last night's events. Jenny picked up her two bags with a sigh and glanced back into the room they had shared on the ship. She didn't want the trip to be over as they walked to the loading bay. The sun shined brightly, unhindered by even a single cloud as her feet touched the familiar concrete tarmac that signified she was back home.

Jenny looked over at the open bay doors to Jim and Kenny's shop. The two were working on one of the RVs. A few of the guys were out mowing lawns and tending to the company grounds. Both shiny red cars were sitting in the garage Alice had claimed for them. It was Monday here, so Alice would be up in their lab. Jenny's tail flicked with a little excitement from getting to see her love again.

Nodrog closed the apartment door behind them as they entered the cool air conditioned apartment. They both noticed a new trophy sitting on the kitchen table as they walked back to their rooms. "I thought Alice was not going to compete?"

"She wasn't. Looks like they talked her into it." Jenny dumped her dirty clothes in the laundry hamper. Jenny plopped down on the couch with her phone in hand. She scrolled through eight days worth of text messages, no one left her any voice mail.

"I guess that means next weekend will be the second race of the year." Nodrog said and sat down on the couch.

"Looks that way." Jenny glanced over at Nodrog. He was looking at a newspaper. "Does it bother you that I have to do everything Roslyn says? Even if it goes against something you told me."

"No. Because I know she is not interested in such things." Nodrog said and looked at Jenny.

"What about last night?" Jenny asked.

Nodrog smiled. "If all she does is make you get naked and dance. I am not going to stop her, if that is what you are wondering."

Jenny blushed. "I don't know if I am okay with that... I mean last night was incredible but still..."

"There are still hard set rules Roslyn cannot break. She cannot order you to stay away from me, or make you do something that will hurt you." Nodrog said.

"But she ended the other girl's agreement..." Jenny said and put a hand up to her collar. She was afraid of being collared at first, now she was afraid of losing it. Jenny figured it went deeper than simply Stockholm syndrome. Their constant connection through it was comforting to her.

"Because the monster had violated certain conditions. I do not abuse you or sexually assault you. I also did not hide behind you, expecting you to protect me from mindless dragontaur." Nodrog said.

"Wait, he expected her to protect him? You should have let Roslyn fuck him up." Jenny said.

"If you want, I will talk to Roslyn about her ordering you around." Nodrog said.

"No, don't do that... Cause I don't mind the sex." Jenny said turning a very bright red.

"You really are a naughty little kitty." Nodrog said and pulled her close.

"Hey, I haven't seen either of you in a week. I want some love." Alice pouted as she came into the apartment only to find Jenny in Nodrog's arms. However she let out a frightened squeak as Jenny managed to pounce on her from a solid seven feet away.

Alice was now laying on her back with Jenny holding her tightly and purring with her face on Alice's chest. The tip of Jenny's tail flicking excitedly. At least Alice knew Jenny missed her while out on her adventure. Alice reached up and hooked her thumb under the silver arrow as her fingers scratched behind Jenny's ear. "This is pretty, where did you get it?"

"It is an award from the Amazon Queen, in recognition of Jenny's bravery and courage." Nodrog answered since Jenny was too preoccupied with cuddling at the moment.

"I guess that means there were no bugs where ever it was that you went." Alice snickered.

"Well there was this little ugly monster that Roslyn was going to kick the crap out of... he could pass as a bug." Jenny said with a little laugh.

Alice reached up and turned Jenny's head so they were looking eye to eye. "What I really want to know, is the business about your kidnapping over?"

"Yes it is, the council will be leaving me alone from here on out." Jenny said and leaned closer to Alice. "You are so cute when you get all serious."

Alice and Jenny had a lengthy kiss. To welcome one of them home and congratulate the other on first place.

"Are you going to let Alice get up?" Nodrog asked after they quit kissing and giggled.

Jenny got up and pulled Alice up with her. "Yes because I am starving."

Nodrog only chuckled. "Honestly she had plenty to eat."

"Jenny is almost always hungry." Alice said and leaned against her chair. "I suppose you are in no mood to cook, are you?"

"Actually I am. I haven't done any since we left." Jenny said and went to the fridge to see what was thawed that she could cook. There wasn't anything so Jenny pulled out a couple burgers for her and a couple of veggie burgers she had made and frozen. Jenny told Alice about almost everything that happened, she left out the gory and scary bits. However she did tell Alice about sex, since she sort of initiated it the first time, and had no choice the second time.

"Why are you sitting there like that?" Alice asked as she got ready for bed. Relieved and happy to have Jenny and Nodrog back in the apartment. Jenny was sitting on the edge of the bed just watching Alice. Her tail swaying slightly as it hung off the end of the bed.

"Just watching you." Jenny said and smiled as Alice blushed. She missed Alice, and despite all the gorgeous women she got to see a great deal of... Alice's figure still held her the most captivated. Naturally because Jenny loved her, but partly because she knew every little detail of the mouse's sexy little body. How to hold it, touch it and caress it to make Alice feel like no one had made her feel before.

The light fragrance of Alice's soft fur and body wash, the smell of her hair and shampoo. The feel of that soft fur as she ran her fingers through it, or had it pressed against her own naked body. The way Alice blushed when they tangled their tails together, or when anyone praised or complemented her. Actually Jenny was greatly relieved herself that Alice still stirred such strong emotions inside of her, even after the recent events.

Alice turned off the lights and climbed into bed. Jenny instantly latching onto her. "I missed you too love." Alice said softly as she ran her fingers through Jenny's blond hair. She smiled as Jenny purred lightly, quickly falling asleep holding onto her.

Alice woke up and stretched thankful for a good night's sleep. She turned off the alarm before it went off after she hit the snooze button. Jenny had so much vacation time, she was forced to start burning it up. Not that Alice really needed to try and get around for work quietly, since Jenny slept like the dead.

Alice was a little surprised to find Nodrog dressed nicely this early in the morning. "I didn't know you had to work today."

"An early morning meeting with Marko. Just to let him know everything pertaining to Jenny and myself has been completely resolved." Nodrog said as he read the paper.

Alice poured herself a cup of coffee. That was a nice treat having a roommate that got up early and turned on the coffee pot. "So I do not have to worry about Jenny getting kidnapped, again or armies showing up to try and kill you?"

"No, the puppet master behind it all has been dealt with." Nodrog said and set the paper down. "Only thing we need to worry about is Jenny having a bad case of jet lag."

Alice sipped at her cup while her toast, toasted. "As much traveling as we do, she adjusts rather quickly. Was she mostly well behaved?"

"She was. Mianth told me Jenny got along well with everyone she interacted with. In fact the Amazon Queen was tempted to keep her for her own pet." Nodrog said.

"I might have had something to say about that." Alice said with a smile.

"Don't worry, Jenny made it very clear that she had someone special waiting for her back home." Nodrog was rather glad to be home as well.

"Does that mean what she said about the banquet is true?" Alice asked while she put her absolute favorite jam on her toast, huckleberry.

Nodrog shrugged. "You would have to ask Roslyn, I was not there."

"Why not? Dallarth and Mianth were invited, and they are dragons." Alice said.

"Because they are female dragons, I am not. No males are allowed in those rooms or halls during certain events." Nodrog said.

"Are they really that strict about it, even after all this time?" Alice asked and bit into her toast and watched his reaction.

"Very much so, that is a deeply ingrained cultural ideology. There are very few men on their worlds. There are a few very female dominant races, and they expect everyone to respect their views. We male elementals get a little more allowance then non elemental males. Almost not worth mentioning really. The few male elemental dragons that navigate the Amazon ships are only temporary until female dragons can fill their role." Nodrog said and glanced at his watch. He got up and gave Alice a kiss.

"If you want to know more, ask Roslyn. Dallarth tells me, Roslyn really liked the Amazon world." Nodrog said as he headed for the apartment door.

"Speaking of Roslyn... What happens to us now that you and her are..." Alice asked.

Nodrog smiled. "Nothing is going to change. Your blood woke me, Jenny's blood saved me. Those are bonds that can never be broken. Roslyn may be my soul mate, but I will always love you."

Alice felt more relieved than she thought she would have. It's not like everyday someone finds out their dead love is reincarnated... Alice laughed. That thought would never have crossed her mind before they met him. The world was certainly a strange place now, and Alice imagined it would only become more so as they reached further into space.

"Good morning ladies, Mr. October." Nodrog said as he walked into Marko's office.

"I had expected you back yesterday. I hope everything went alright." Marko said.

Nodrog smiled. "We would have been back sooner. Jenny and Roslyn were personally invited to attend a banquet by Beatrice Coral, the former Amazon Queen."

"Former Queen?" Catlin asked with a raised eyebrow.

"That was part of the banquet ceremony, to pass the crown to her eldest daughter. They were honored for their bravery during a rather interesting turn of events." Nodrog said.

"I take it there was some trouble?" Marko asked and set the papers in his hand down to give his full attention to Nodrog.

"There was, however the root cause of all of it... Has been permanently taken care of." Nodrog said.

"Does that mean we can all relax a little?" Kitty asked.

Nodrog shrugged. "Perhaps a little. Though you might find a few more advanced races coming to earth for a visit. I know a few other races are interested in opening trade of both goods and technology."

"Maybe you should budget more for starship landing pads." Tabbatha said.

"Do we really have that as a budget item?" Kitty asked and read over Tabbatha's shoulder.

Marko laughed. "No, we do not have a starship parking budget... At least not yet."

"Are you going to tell us what happened?" Catlin asked as she looked at Nodrog. She did not even want to think about the headaches she would have to face with more aliens coming to visit.

"But by all means leave out the scary or gory parts." Tabbatha said sheepishly.

Nodrog chuckled. "I think I can do that."

The four listened intently as Nodrog explained what had happened so incredibly far away. He glossed over the actual fighting and completely left out the part of eating the dragon's flesh and soul. He mainly focused on what was going to happen now that Glados was no longer making decisions for everyone.

Marko's secretary told them Roslyn was waiting to speak with him after they were done.

"I am a bit curious as to what she wants to talk about. You didn't leave anything important out?" Marko asked as Nodrog walked over to the office door to open it.

"I did not think it my place to tell you everything." Nodrog said and opened the door. Roslyn had not sat down and Marko's secretary seemed a little more intimidated by the otter than usual. "Come in."

Tabbatha nearly dropped her tablet when Roslyn walked into the office. Nodrog had failed to mention Roslyn had grown wings. None of them really knew what to say as Nodrog closed the office door after letting Roslyn in. Aside from the very apparent wings, and the lack of gray in her hair she still looked the same.

It was the first time the three women had seen Roslyn dress this feminine. Her usual blue jeans and t shirt were absent along with her black boots. She was wearing capri pants with sneakers and a flattering button shirt. Her hair had a little curl to it and was hanging freely since she had skipped her usual pony tail. The three women with Marko were surprised how pretty she was, when she wasn't dressed like a boy.

Roslyn looked at Nodrog. "I am guessing from their shock, you did not tell them about these?" She spread her dark wings slightly.

"I did not. I was not sure if you would want me too." Nodrog said and smiled.

"Actually I appreciate that." Roslyn said and smiled. However she did just sit down in a chair without being offered one like she always did. And pulled the small candy tin off of Marko's desk to see if he had any of the candy she liked.

"Well at least she still acts the same." Catlin said and shook her head with a chuckle.

"A few things about me have changed but most have stayed the same." Roslyn said and smiled as she pulled the last two pieces of salt water taffy out of the tin.

"Besides growing wings what else has changed?" Marko asked and leaned against his desk. He had always thought she was beautiful, her feisty nature and free spirit only added to her natural beauty.

Roslyn leaned forward. "I don't know how to say this... . I used to be a Valkyrie by the name of Rose and I know Nodrog from that previous life."

"What does that mean?" Tabbatha asked.

"It means she died and has been reborn. During our fight with Glados, Roslyn's old power was awoken." Nodrog said and placed a hand on her shoulder as he spoke.

Roslyn put her hand on his. "I was also his wife, thousands of years ago... I don't know if you will believe me about what happened to me on this trip. While it hurt like hell, I am happy it happened."

Earlier on Etal Drasses.

Roslyn lay in a dark, cold cavern, alone. That dragon bitch was going to pay if Roslyn found her way out. Her main concern at the moment was an incredible hot flash and just an intense, searing pain in her back. It doubled her over as nausea set in.

She screamed as her bones seemed to change. It was like a growing pain, but so much worse. Roslyn managed to crawl over to a small pool of water and risked taking a drink. She vomited as something under her skin moved and pushed out against the muscles in her back. Her cries of pain echoed down the tunnels as the skin over her shoulder blades tore open.

Roslyn whimpered like a small child as she lay on the cold hard dirt. She sat up as a buzzing electric sound filled the cavern. In a bright flash her weapon case was laying before her. She ignored it for a moment and turned back to the small pool of water. Roslyn wanted to get the taste of vomit out of her mouth.

The women looking back at her had glowing eyes and raven black wings. Roslyn watched herself in the reflection reach back and touch her wing. As her fingers met the smooth black feathers she still had a hard time believing they were real. They moved when she commanded them too.

Roslyn splashed water on her face and turned her attention to the case. She had put the belt and holster for the .44 on and had just pulled the long gun out when Sephya found her. The Velopian rounded a tight corner and found her kneeling over the large case.

"Roslyn, thank goddess I found you... Are you alright?" Sephya asked as she slowly walked up to Roslyn. The wings on the otter's back poking through her blood soaked shirt.

"Yeah, I am alright." Roslyn said softly. She hooked the double barrels to the stock and put one of the monster shells in each before closing the action with a loud click.

"What kind of gun is that?" Sephya asked and took a step back as Roslyn turned and looked at her. Eyes glowing in the dim light. The Velopian was frightened by the power she felt coming from Roslyn.

"700 Nitro Express... It will drop even the biggest animal on earth. I figure it will work just as well on monsters." Roslyn said and keyed the ship radio she had put in her weapon case. "Could you port the case back up to the ship?"

"Yes ma'am. Do you need anything else?" Tunrog asked.

"Just the direction we need to go." Roslyn said and glanced back at the weapon case just as it fizzled out of existence to reappear on the ship.

Roslyn watched as Sephya pulled up her map and Omega updated it like he had Alyvia's. "The two of you have the furthest to go." Sephya and Roslyn heard Omega say.

"Best not keep them waiting." Roslyn said and started off down the tunnel.

"Are you sure you feel okay?" Sephya asked and jogged after the otter.

"I will feel better after I kick the shit out of that dragon bitch." Roslyn said and spat at the ground. They walked in silence for a short while before Roslyn stopped and turned to look back at Sephya. It was impossible to see the woman's face but the way she stopped made it clear she was a little worried.

Roslyn held up her hand before Sephya said anything. "I am sorry I snapped at you. I know you are just concerned..."

"We all are, I still am." Sephya said and put a hand on Roslyn's shoulder.

Roslyn looked back down the tunnel. "I'll make you a deal."

"What kind of deal?" Sephya asked.

"I tell you how I really feel and you keep it to yourself." Roslyn said.

"Okay." Sephya said and smiled behind her helmet.

"I'm not alright, and I am scared to death of what is happening." Roslyn said and looked back at the young woman.

They both looked down the tunnel as they heard fighting. "If it makes you feel any better, I am quite frightened myself."

"Standing here is not going to get us anywhere." Roslyn said.

"Lets see if we can give them a hand." Sephya said.

The pair felt a little better knowing the other was in the same position. The tunnel Omega had sent them down ended in a large cavern, but nearly ten feet higher than the main cavern floor.

"Well you won't find a bigger beast then those two mammothtaur." Sephya said as they surveyed the mob below them.

"Hey, does your armor have sound suppressors?" Roslyn asked.

"Of course. Why do you ask?" Sephya asked.

Roslyn un slung the double gun and pulled back both hammers. She shouldered the gun and aimed. "You are going to want them on."

Sephya watched as the otter aimed the odd looking gun. Even with sound suppressors in her armor she still jumped from the noise the large bore gun made when Roslyn pulled the trigger. The chunk of meat it tore off the beast's arm clearly demonstrating how effective it was. The second round Roslyn fired also caused Sephya to jump as the second beast's head just vanished in red mist.

"I think they know we are here." Sephya said with a light laugh. She flicked the safety off of her rifle as the others looked up at them. The pair made several well placed shots before dropping down to the lower level. Sephya joined the other Velopians.

Roslyn lost herself in the heat of the moment and just beat the hell out of anything she knew was not a friend. She never wanted to admit she enjoyed fighting, but as she doubled over a dragontaur, there was no doubt she liked it.

Despite seeing Omega's skull crushed, Roslyn knew he wasn't dead. She placed a hand on one of the navel guns, and marked it with a ruin. Then she just walked right out into the open. Roslyn drew the symbol for a spell she just knew before taking aim at the lesser dragon goddess.

A quick exchange of un lady like insults in Draconic and Roslyn activated her spell as Glados opened her mouth. The twenty four inch navel gun appeared next to her. Roslyn yelled 'Fire' and the gun's blast drowned out all sound as it sent the monster bullet down range.

Back in Marko's office Roslyn thoughtfully chewed on a piece of the taffy before skipping ahead to tell them what happened at the banquet the Queen held. Nodrog was a little disappointed she left out the juicy details of that, but figured even she might be too embarrassed to share some of those events.

Chapter.

"I think I am jealous. When do we get to go to other planets?" Kitty asked and looked at Marko.

"As soon as we are invited to go. They will be taking the modified ship for its shake down run, in a few weeks. Let's see how that fairs before we jump onboard and head for points unknown." Marko said and chuckled.

"I will politely pass. I cannot see the allure of deep space travel." Tabbatha said.

"Stick in the mud." Roslyn remarked.

Marko rubbed the bridge of his snout. "Now, now, no need for name calling. At least we know Roslyn is the same person."

"While I like stories as much as anyone, we do have an appointment to make." Catlin said and pointed at her watch.

"The rest of this week is clear, but next week, Roslyn. We are going on a little trip to the orient." Marko said as he gathered the things he needed to take with him.

"I wonder if we will meet any new friends on that trip as well." Roslyn said with a sly smile.

Tabbatha sighed. "It is going to be a long trip, I can see it already."

"It will be fun. I promise." Roslyn said as she stood up, following everyone out of the office.

"Just so long as we don't get kicked out of the bar." Kitty teased.

Roslyn stood in shock, his body guards did have a sense of humor. "A joke from Kitty... I am impressed."

Nodrog and Marko both laughed as Roslyn clapped, annoying Kitty.

"I was expecting a snappy come back." Catlin said as they got on the elevator.

"I'll get her next time. It is nice to see you both lighten up and laugh a little." Roslyn said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kitty grumbled as Nodrog and Roslyn stepped off to get breakfast.

"I am saying don't be like me and put off living just to chase a career." Roslyn said. She smiled as the elevator doors closed.

"You're not going to get all philosophical on me are you?" Nodrog chuckled.

"No, but I don't want to see anyone follow in our footsteps. I suppose getting a second... or in your case third chance at life is very lucky. In that regard, Alice and Jenny got it right the first time, they just go for it all." Roslyn said as they got in line for breakfast.

Sherman, Samantha, Stacy and Randy were sitting together and waved them over. All four paused and stared at Roslyn as she sat down with them. "What?" Roslyn asked.

"You have wings!" Samantha and Randy exclaimed.

"You're dressed in girl clothes!" Sherman and Stacy said at nearly the same time as Samantha and Randy.

Nodrog chuckled at Roslyn's embarrassment. "I would have thought your wings would have gotten more notice than your choice of dress."

Roslyn flashed a toothy smile as she looked at Sherman and Stacy. "Well we all know where you were looking."

The guilty pair blushed as the other four laughed at them. "If you had all the experience we have with Nodrog, you would not be that surprised by her wings." Sherman said as he tried to cover up the fact he had noticed her figure before her wings. In his defense she did have them tucked tightly behind her back.

"Actually I am guilty of noticing how pretty she is before I noticed she had wings." Stacy said sheepishly. After all a flight suit is not the most flattering of things a person can wear. And that was the only thing she had seen Roslyn wear a fair amount of the time.

"Its okay, I just like teasing you both." Roslyn said.

"Are you going to tell us how you got them?" Samantha asked.

Nodrog looked at his watch. "It might have to wait for another day, not exactly a short story by any means."

"It is about that time." Randy said as he leaned back. While he was in town, he was not actually off. He did have work to do while he was out here. At least he got off the same time as Stacy.

"Speaking of work, Samantha could I borrow Sherman?" Roslyn asked as she put lots of Tabasco sauce on her fried eggs.

Samantha glanced at Sherman. "I suppose that depends on what for."

"I am sitting right here, do I get a say in the matter?" Sherman asked.

"No." Samantha and Roslyn said with a smile.

Sherman slouched in the chair with his ears laid flat. He glanced at Nodrog. "You're no help some days."

"You can't fool me, you want to know what she wants." Nodrog said.

"So what do you want?" Randy asked.

Roslyn smiled. "I want a fight and Sherman is just the man for the job."

"Are you sure? I know you can kick ass... but still." Sherman said. He was surprised Roslyn put as much hot sauce on her eggs as he did. He also mentally kicked himself since the first thought in his mind, was pinning the good looking otter to the mat.

"Are you afraid I might hurt you, or you just don't want to spar with a woman?" Roslyn asked. Actually she had a fairly good idea of what he might be thinking, and getting pinned to the mat by him had crossed her own mind.

"That's ah loaded question if I ever heard one." Randy said with a chuckle.

"Don't I know it... Alright I will spar with you if that's what you want." Sherman crossed his arms as he leaned back. "I'll even make sure the training room is free for us this evening."

"An hour after dinner work?" Roslyn asked.

"Sounds good to me..." Sherman said and gave a quick look around.

"What are you doing?" Samantha asked.

Sherman kept his eyes moving. "Making sure a couple of our coworkers didn't overhear so they don't start a pool."

"That worried about losing?" Nodrog asked and laughed when Sherman gave him the evil eye.

"Wining or losing has nothing to do with it." Sherman said. He was a Halfling and Roslyn was... Well he wasn't sure what she was. It didn't matter because he was secure enough in his ability that losing to someone better than him was not a problem. Roslyn and him both knew what people thought about him and Nodrog.

"What's it about?" Roslyn asked after she finished off what Stacy would call hot sauce with a little egg.

Sherman raised an eye brow. "If this is for the reason I think it is. Do you really want a crowd?"

Roslyn was a little taken aback. She had not given that any thought at all. "Good point."

"Does that mean we can't come and cheer you on?" Stacy asked.

Roslyn set her fork down. "... I don't know if that is a good idea or not."

"Why not get him to take you both someplace where the outcome will not be judged?" Samantha pointed her fork at Nodrog as she spoke.

"Just because I can go anywhere I please; does not mean I have an encyclopedic knowledge of places suitable for such activities." Nodrog grumbled as he bit down too hard on the fork he had been using to eat with. "Fuck..."

They all looked at the now tine less fork. Stacy started giggling and everyone but Nodrog laughed.

"Oh god that look... Oh that was funny shit." Roslyn said as she laughed.

Samantha poked Nodrog with her finger. "I am serious. Don't the Hunter's have training facilities?"

Nodrog ate the rest of the fork as he thought. "They do and it would be a fairly neutral place to use. Seeing as the two of them are not fully human, I will ask about it. If not there, I would imagine Morgor would have facilities we could use."

"That would be fine with me, especially since I have a hunch that there could be property damage." Sherman said with a fang baring grin.

"Guess it is a good thing you heal quick." Roslyn said with an equally toothy smile.

Stacy looked at Sherman and then to Roslyn. She didn't like fighting, or even like thinking about fighting. "So... I noticed you look a little younger now. You really are pretty Roslyn."

Roslyn blushed a little. "You think so? I never really worried too much about my looks."

With the subject changed the little lion's enthusiasm returned quickly. They did have work to do and Nodrog went with Sherman as the others headed off separately for whatever they needed to do.

"You can sense it, can't you?" Nodrog asked as he and Sherman walked across the lot to Sherman's office.

"I can sense something different about her. I cannot really place it though. It is more than just higher self confidence. Roslyn isn't human any more, is she?" Sherman asked as they walked.

"She is still human, but not at the same time. The Valkyrie are human like in many ways, but it has been so long my memory of them is faint." Nodrog said and held the door as a trio of female officers walked out.

"In any case I know it is not going to be easy. I am curious though." Sherman said as he pulled out his keys to unlock his office.

"About?" Nodrog asked and hung the sport coat on a hanger before sitting down.

"How you managed to score three lovely and talented women... And keep them from killing each other." Sherman said with a chuckle as he sat down.

"To be fair, two of them love each other... and they both admire the third. After you have a hundred years worth of experience pleasing women... It is rather easy." Nodrog said a slight glow in his eyes.

"Touché. Anyways here are some things I need you to look over." Sherman said and handed him a file.

Nodrog opened it and glanced through it. "I had planned on being back sooner. Jenny and Roslyn's invitation to be honored on the Amazon home world was unexpected... Are these images of what I think they are?"

Sherman nodded his head and placed his hands clasped under his chin. "They are trying to salvage anything from that facility."

Nodrog looked at Sherman. "You know I cannot let that happen."

Sherman only nodded.

"Mr. October knows that." Nodrog said his anger growing the more of the report he read.

"That is why I never showed you that report and why I never told you to take care of it." Sherman said and smiled when Nodrog caught on.

Nodrog smiled. "Excellent. How are things going with our friends from distant worlds?"

"The Velopians have been a great help in converting one of our ships to use the Gray's deep space navigation. And if the last meeting went well; we should have worked out an agreement on trading medical equipment for enough pewter to build our own dragon navigated starship." Sherman said and leaned back in his chair.

"That is fantastic news." Nodrog said.

Sherman pulled up a file on his computer to read some notes. "Depending on when actual construction begins... We are looking at a completed ship within two years. That should give us sufficient time to see if any dragons would be interested in moving here to be a navigator."

"I think that can wait until actual construction begins. I am assuming it will be based off of a Velopian ship." Nodrog said and set the file back down on Sherman's desk.

"It is based off the Cutter, Tunrog navigates. With of course some redesigning of certain facilities and electrical power. After all the bathrooms were a little hard for us to use." Sherman said and the two of them laughed. He picked up the file and fed it to the paper shredder.

"I suppose I should get some things taken care of before too much longer." Nodrog stood and grabbed his coat as he spoke.

"Am I going to get my ass kicked?" Sherman asked.

"Honestly... I don't know." Nodrog smiled. "But don't lie and say you aren't looking forward to it."

"See you later." Sherman chuckled as Nodrog left the office. Two of his officers came in after Nodrog left so they could go over some things. As the two officers sat down, Sherman felt a pang of guilt sending Nodrog to kill those people. Because that was what the dragon was going to do.

Which was the first thing Nodrog was going to go do, right after changing clothes. In less than an hour Nodrog was kneeling on a mountain that over looked the bombed out facility.

"I sense the foul stench of Grays in the air." Inilth grumbled as he walked over to Nodrog.

"I noticed it as well. What did you have planed Nodrog?" Dallarth said.

"My initial reaction and plan was to just change form and wipe them out. However, there may be innocent humans just doing as they are told along with the guilty ones." Nodrog said.

"So something more along the lines of an accident?" Dallarth asked as Nodrog stood.

Nodrog pointed to the ground they stood upon. "More like an act of god."

Inilth knelt and took a handful of earth in his hand. "Bring the mountain down on them. A good earth shaking rumble to give them some warning and bury the facility under tons of earth."

"And conveniently keeps our hands clean, since the Grays cannot prove it was us." Dallarth said with a smile.

"Very well. If you will lend me your strength, I will convince the mountain to move." Inilth said as he stood.

The three took their true form, Nodrog and Dallarth closing their eyes as they concentrated on giving Inilth their magic strength. With Dallarth's shadow magic hiding them from all eyes, Inilth bore into the mountain. Shaking the earth violently as rocks and trees started to tumble down the steep slope.

In the facility the alarm was raised from the earthquake. Many pointed up at the mountain and they quickly jumped into trucks to make a retreat to safe ground. The Grays and the humans with them looked for any sign of Dragon or Monster involvement. Disgusted that they were dealt another setback. With Glados' death, there was no way to continue making Black Blood.
