Till death do us part
Poetry is almost always about emotions. However some also tell stories. I wrote this poem a long time ago, with a background story in mind. I wonder, can you guess what the story is about?
Your love is like poison,
It's getting to my brain.
I just can't stop loving you,
But soon I'll go insane
I feel your nails on my back,
Like knives cutting my skin.
I know you're sad and angry,
But you're the one lying
For all the wrongs you did
I was the one who took the blame
Now I have to pay the ultimate price
And I wonder if you feel any shame.
You ask me for forgiveness
And I'll probably give it too
Because I can't get your poison out my heart
So I do anything for you.
Soon it will all be over
There is one final way to get you out of me
I'll leave you alone in this world
Hoping you'll change in the person you say you want to be.
