Shadow Chronicles; Legends of the Damned
Evening all, this is my first series I'm going to make on SoFurry,
I got most of the ideas from my other series and books on Fanfiction.net, so if
you're read the stories by Titan of Chaos, then you might seem some
similarities. This could end up being a ten or fifteen part series, it mainly
depends on what happens from here on out. This is definitely a romance story
and it will have Mature rated violence and anthro dragons lovin on one another,
so be warned. Also, many thanks to Samuel Triago for being so supportive of me
in my first few months on this site.
If you want me to make a one shot
for you, just send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. Pretty much any ideas
are allowed, just be specific with what tags and topics you want in it so I'll
know what you want, but besides that you can be as vague as you want.
ALL CHARACTERS AND IDEAS ARE MY OWN!
Shadow
Chronicles; Legends of the Damned
Chapter 1
The Chosen
I awoke to total blackness with a
jolt, sitting upright and grabbing at the air around me, desperately trying to
grasp something, anything to quell this falling, almost empty feeling in the
pit of my very soul. When I realized there was nothing for me to touch but the
cold earthen floor, I calmed slightly, stilling my nerves now that I knew I
wasn't plummeting into emptiness. But how did I get here, and where exactly was
"here".
I
tried to stand but failed and crashed back to my knees. My legs were numb,
feeling nearly nonexistent, but when I rose again, they held firm and I stood
on shaky feet. Twisting my head to the side, I felt a pressure relieving crack
in my neck, like I hadn't moved in hours from my flattened position.
Experimentally, I moved the rest of my body to see if they'd respond.
After
a few moments of limbering my body up, I reassured myself that everything was
normal and present, yet something odd caught my attention as I looked around.
It seemed as if there was some source of light in this tunnel like room I was
in. But it was no ordinary light; it lacked the pure white color of sunlight
and the yellowish hue of a florescent bulb. It was red, outlining objects
around me with a faded crimson aura, similar to.... Night vision! I had night
vision! But no, it was different, natural even, like I'd had this ability my
whole life and I was already becoming extremely familiar with it. The rocks and
walls were becoming more clear, losing their red tint and looking more
naturally lit, like a sun was descending from the rocky ceiling, but the red
aura around everything remained, giving a kind of distinct blood red outline to
everything I saw.
I
soon pushed the thought to the side and focused on the more intriguing elements
of my predicament. It appeared I was inside a cave, but not an average cave
with stalactites reaching down from the ceiling and little stalagmites pointing
towards the roof, instead there were pillars of marble that connected the
ceiling and floor together. And these pillars seemed to be intricately
designed, similar to those found in ancient Rome, with elaborate figures and
creatures carved into the top and bottom slabs that attached to the ground and
floor. The marble the pillars were made of wasn't the natural tan or ivory, it
was jet black like obsidian, with a faded purple shade to it and that glossy,
ungodly gleam on its smooth surface. For some odd reason, they were all placed
in a perfect circle around me, forming what looked like an alter around me. A
single column stood in the center of the others, thicker and taller than the
others and appearing to have a dark purple aura emanating from it, reaching out
nearly three feet before fading into the blackness of the air.
When
I walked up to the center one and carefully glided my hand down its surface, a
bolt of cold electricity jumped from it and passed through my arm at an
agonizing speed, almost like water running down my arm. As it reached my
shoulder, it dispersed and made my arm twitch uncomfortably, and forced it to
do so until I grabbed my wrist and shook it violently. I looked up at the
pillar, and with my growing familiarity with my night vision, I could just
barely make out an oddly large symbol engraved into the surface of the column,
but it was extremely elaborate and expertly made, like it was carved with the
workmanship of a master sculpture.
Once
I could make out the symbol clearly, I realized it was a creature's skull with
two katana like swords crossed behind it, a set of demonic looking bat wings
stretched outwards from the skull's sides, and what seemed like a serpent's eye
in the center of the creature's skull. The pupil was a thin slit that ran
vertically through the eye, but also had fire reaching outwards towards the
edge of the irises. I soon recognized the skull's shape as that of a dragons',
with a bulky yet long snout and a mouth filled with serrated fangs and curved
horns that were located where the temples would be and on the back of the
skull.
Once
I had examined the symbol I decided to touch it again, and when my fingertips
grazed the symbol's surface, there was no pulse of icy electricity through my
arm which reassured me that it wasn't going to hurt me and I completely
flattened my left palm onto it. After a few excruciatingly long seconds of
nothing happening, I shrugged and tried to pull my hand off it, but my touch
refused to be severed and I was stuck to the pillar, jerking away from it
violently for several minutes but to no effect.
After
my eleventh attempt at ripping my hand free, I felt that same jolt of freezing
energy build up in the pillar, and within an instant it jumped into my palm,
but the agony was increased tenfold. A scream left my lips but a few seconds
into the cry I felt my throat twitch and contract, warping my scream of pain
into a roar resembling that of some demonic, unholy creature. I forced my mouth
shut and groaned, but that too changed, only it sounded exactly like the growl
of a wolf, but even more menacing and much deeper in tone.
I
felt my hand grow hot as if I were touching a stove top and more electricity
passed into my body, making my muscles contract and literally groan from the
weight of change. I could feel every strand of flesh on my body thicken and
grow, making my skin stretch to the point of being ripped off my body, and when
it did I roared once more, blood spewing from the torn veins and forming a
perfectly round lake of crimson on the marble floor below me. I forced my eyes
open to look at my blood and gasped as it darkened into a black, bile like
liquid, bubbling and steaming until a death like scent filled the air and
choked me to the point of blacking out.
The
blood lake twisted and rippled like something within it was thrashing around,
struggling with all its might to escape the black abyss. As it twisted and
bended with unnatural speed, the lake had warped into the shape of the symbol
on the wall. Nearly the size of the entire floor, the symbol rippled as demonic
laughter filled my head, echoing like a battle cry through the emptiness of my
pain stricken thoughts. The eye at the center looked directly at me and the
flames in it burst to life, reaching up off the black marble floor and burning
dark silver, purple and black, like the flames of hell itself. The skull smiled
and lifted itself off the floor, hovering behind me and solidifying into a real
dragons' skull. It opened its enormous maw and roared so forcefully it tore
away my very flesh, leaving me as nothing but a skeleton, but somehow I was
still alive, able to witness and experience every moment of this horrifying
ritual.
"You
have been judged." The
agony of my bare bones being exposed to such punishing colds and extreme
pressure forced my jaw bone to fall open in a high pitched cry for mercy, but
the voices only grew louder, making my bones rattle and the shrine quake like
the world around me was coming to an end.
"You
have been chosen." Now
the voices were in my head, making my teeth shake free from my skull and my
eyes fall out of their very sockets, vanishing into the black abysmal lake of
my own blood and when it sank beneath the rippling, trembling waves, not a
single shockwave from it could be seen, making it seem like it simply vanished
from existence.
"You
have been destroyed." I
felt another shockwave of energy blast through my body and literally blow my
arms and legs out of their sockets, and when my limbs touched the black lake
below me, they burst into dark purple and black flames, scorching the pillars
around me until they had molten surfaces.
"And
now, Samiel of earth... You will be Reborn!" Every fiber of my being, what little
remained, screamed to the heavens in pain, trembling so violently that they
began to crack, purple and black fire bursting from them and engulfing my
entire body.
"WHY!?! Why
is this happening!?!" I managed to wheeze even though my vocal cords were
nonexistent at this point of the ritual, or whatever this satanic event was
unfolding around me.
"You
are the Remn Ortif. The Descendant of the Dimas Hahde and you are the last of
your lineage." Somehow,
the terms this voice was using sounded familiar somehow. No, they were becoming
familiar, like experience with such people it spoke of was being channeled into
my screaming mind, literally giving me memories!
My bones continued cracking to
the point of falling to dust, my entire skeleton was shattered into a million
pieces yet some dark force was keeping the shards of my frame from falling to
the ground, instead making them hover in place where they would naturally be.
Instead of seeing the yellowish bone marrow inside the center of my bones, I
saw pitch black and purple flames swirling around in the exact same place where
the marrow would be, completely replacing the tissue with demonic flames that
seemed to absorb the light around me.
Suddenly, my chest was jerked
upwards and my rib cage was completely ripped from my body, the bone fragments
spraying in every direction but still leaving the purple and black structure
that lied within them. Another heavy jerk on my left arm and the bone fragments
were once again ripped away, revealing the purple and black flaming columns
that were now my bones. A few great yanks later, and my entire skeleton was
nothing but a flaming structure that silently howled in pain.
"We
will reveal to you your greatness, and the hidden power you have been blessed
with. But... you are young. Too young for the task ahead. The future will be
challenging and the sorrow you have yet to endure is far worse than any you
have ever experienced."
"What do
you mean?! I'm not great at anything, I'm a nothing! You're saying you're going
to put the power of a god in the hands of a failure!" My voice was now distant,
like I was listening to a live recording of myself from far away. The voice of
the power that now had me at its mercy was louder, deeper, so filled with
energy it seemed to flow from every word in to the very core of my soul.
"Ah...
but you are not as flawed as you believe. You understand your own fate as we
have foreseen it. You know that godlike power will be bestowed upon you, and we
have not even begun to explain such things. You knew in your heart, before your
losses, before your seclusion, before any of your perceived failures, that
there was always a greatness about you that no one, not even yourself, could
see. That you were destined for something impossible yet fantastic in every way
and that this destiny was going to change everything about you. You mind, your
body, your heart, everything was going to be changed and you knew it was going
to be for the better. This is why we have chosen you out of the thousands of
your kind; because you see the hidden potential within and you know that it was
given to you by beings greater than any from your world, and for reasons they
deemed righteous and pure."
"I can't!
You don't know what you're doing! I may be the angel you sent for but I'm also
the demon you fear, the beast that dwells within the shadows of my soul has
been taking control! For the past 3 years I've felt such malice for my own kind
that I'd rather see them burn them save them from damnation! Stop this before
you grant a monster the ability to slaughter as he always dreamed of!" My wails
of freedom were hollow, almost nonexistent altogether as the flames that
resembled my skeleton began to flash brighter and brighter, until it was
impossible to see anything anymore.
"You
misunderstand. This is not a choice for you to make. This is our final act
while residing in this plane of existence. You are our only option, and such a
dire action on our part is forbidden amongst our kind. You will bear the burden
of evil incarnate whilst controlling the very light that brought life to the
cosmos. This is all we will say, and this is the last you will hear of us. Now
arise, Adouro Tenshiado; spawn of the Ethernal Madrian, the Titan imprisoned
within a mortal, the hound of the elder gods and embodiment of Chaos itself! Frange
Onk Seev Kailite Liga Aomen Unyord!"
Suddenly, the entire earth began
to shake, the obsidian pillars seemed to radiate an aura of cold that chilled
me to the depths of my very being. My figure shivered, quaking like it was
being strangled by the right hand of god himself. The runes that adorned the
boiling black floor began burning an unnatural red and purple flame, the very
carving rising up and off the surface they were engraved on and circling around
me like a demonic ritual, each one seeming to radiate a different tune of evil.
I wailed to the heavens but was
only answered with more earth rumbling power that appeared before me in the
shape of that same draconic symbol that was engraved in the center pillar and
on the floor, but now it terrified me even more because the dragon skull in the
center of the symbol began to laugh in a low, almost growling tone. Its eyes
glowed like the flames of hell itself and as I gasped raspy breaths to try and
soothe my nerves, the symbol bolted towards me with the speed of lightning.
It
stopped a moment before passing through my flaming skeletal form and then it
shrieked, calling out to the other demonic forces that resided within this dark
temple. Its answer was the wails of a thousand tortured souls, all swirling
around me to form a cyclone of long, pained faces that had endured the worst
sorrows known to mankind. The cyclone tightened around me, closing in until the
faces were mere inches away from snuffing out the flames that resembled my
skeleton. As the thought of being blown out as a candle surged through my mind,
the faces began latching onto my ignited frame, wrapping around me until I was
a figure of agonizing screams and haunted faces.
The demonic souls solidified to
form flesh and organs, even a layer of shield like scales, each varying in size
from half a foot long and a fourth foot wide to nearly three feet long and two
feet wide, but all of them were nightmarishly black, seeming to radiate
darkness itself and absorb what little light crept into the hellish temple. I
opened my eyes for an instant to witness my transformation and as I did a
large, almost liquid like silver pool of light formed in front of me and
flattened to become a mirror with rippling edges and a solid center that
reflected the horrific event that was befalling me.
My
face elongated into a scaly muzzle, my ankles and knees popped and cracked
until my legs resembled those of a canines', with elevated ankles and almost
ball pin shaped soles on my feet with four clawed toes on the front and a
single clawed thumb appendage at the back of the foot. My chest broadened and
thickened until it was almost six feet tall from waist line to collar bone
alone and four and a half feet from shoulder to shoulder. My total height was now
13 feet, with muscles evenly distributed along my frame and scaled plating that
was so hard it could deflect a 70 cm caliber artillery shell without even
knocking the wind out of me or denting the scales, yet they weighed nothing at
all, as if they weren't even there.
Every
fiber of my being was screaming at me as they were warped and distorted until
my body resembled an enormous twelve foot tall anthromorphic black dragon with
a wing span of nearly eighteen feet, and an arm span of 10 feet with a tail that
looked around three feet thick and eight feet long. Adding to the unnatural
appearance of the tail, a black Chidori Jumonji Yari, or a Japanese three
pronged spear, was attached to the tip of the tail, yet it seemed to have been
grown out of the tail somehow, not fused or bounded, but grown from bones and
flesh. The metal the Chidori Yari blade was made of was harder and more
resilient that titanium alloy at its purist and the blade itself was midnight
black and almost 3 feet from the base where it grew out of my tail to the very
tip of its demonic three blades, seeming to emanate the same evil as my scales,
yet the inner sharpened edges were a dark purple color.
A midnight black pair of horns
jutted out from the back of my head, then curved so the pointed tips faced
forward, reaching almost to my cheek bones before stopping. Decorated with
ungodly serrations on the outer edge, the horns were about 2 feet thick at the
base and four feet long if you straightened them. My long and thick muzzle was
filled with serrated fangs that shimmered in the low level light of the temple,
almost beckoning someone to come and submit as my next meal. Three foot long,
shinning black curved claws replaced my fingernails and as I tensed my fingers
into a fist, they retracted to proportionately sized fingernails, except with
sharpened, pointed tips. Four thick toes attached to the front of my now canine
shaped legs, which seemed to be designed to taking massive amounts of impact
and propelling the owners at a blurring speed.
My muscles thickened and
condensed, packing the strength of a body builder's entire body into every
individual muscle, making me feel so empowered that I felt I could fight a
thousand soldiers. When my transformation was complete, the demonic shadows
that held me in the air dissolved and released me, letting me fall to the blood
stained floor with a heavy thud.
As
my consciousness left me, I saw a white silhouette of a creature whose form
looked similar to mine, except much more feminine and graceful, like the lithe
figure of an angel yet combined with the attributes of a monstrous demon. It walked
out from behind the North facing black obelisk and lean against it, turning its
blank face towards me and looking directly into my eyes.
It
walked towards me and as its clawed feet touched the ground, small pools of heavenly
luminance spread outwards, slowly eliminating the entire shrine in warm, pure
white light. The figure stopped as it stood above me and then kneeled down with
its hands in its lap and its head mere inches away from my own.
"Adouro...
wake up... you need to find me... I'll wait for you at the Oklahman Aomen... Do not
forget your Siham. For I will never
forget you." Her voice was that of an angel, so harmonic and caring, yet passion
empowered her every word, like the things she spoke of were the truth and had
been a reality for the both of us for hundreds of years. Somehow, I understood
what she was saying, the foreign sounds that escaped her perfect lips soon
changed into a language I knew, as if I had been speaking it all my life.
"I will
always love you, Seev Neira Dealien." She just... called me her eternal love... but...
I don't know you... why are you calling me a lover when you don't even know me?
The world began swirling into
darkness and my eyelids became impossibly heavy. As I was blacking out, her
face began to focus and gain features, the white silhouette vanishing the
longer I saw her. No! I had to see her face! I had to know who she was! I had
to... I... had... Megami... don't leave me...
And that's all for now ladies and
gentleman, hope you all enjoyed, send me a PM if you have thoughts you want to
convey to me personally, and don't forget to leave a comment on what you're
thinking. Thanks for all your support, and I hope this series gets a good
publicity.
