Chapter 6.
It is 7:00 am, and I awake in the paws of my beloved Tony. I could stay here all day, but alas, I know that myself and Wolverine, have a job to do, namely keep Senior Doberman out of harms way. I get out of bed, slowly so as not to disturb my lovers sleep, I pick up my clothes and head into Wolverine's room.
Wolverine is already showered and dressed, so he allows me to use his en-suite bathroom. After my shower and change, both myself and Wolverine head out to the main house. It would be a ten minute walk, but it would give us time to talk about what had happened the previous day. Wolverine began to tear up as he thought about the fact that it was he who pulled the trigger that allegedly killed me, I saw this and realised exactly why he was so upset.
"Wolverine, what you did yesterday has freed us both from the clutches of Van Daz, in my case, I know that I can walk the streets alone without having to fear that Van Daz might be lying in wait for me, as for you, it would have only been a matter of time before you got caught up in his rogue ways, and most certainly would have ended up in you either getting seriously wounded or even killed, so please do not waste your tears. I know that what you, Tony and Senior Doberman saw yesterday, shook you all up, but, at the same time, I was not afraid, sure if your bullet had missed my bulletproof jacket it would have probably been fatal, but, and I say this with all honesty, I would rather die at yours or Tony's paws, rather than Van Daz's".
Wolverine's tears seemed to cease automatically and we carried on our walk. We enter the main house, and there in front of us is Todd, the housekeeper, we sit down at the table and Todd puts two full breakfast plates down in front of us. As we begin to eat we can hear the boss in his study playing his favourite Grand Piano, he was playing something by Beethoven, I think, as I'm more a wolf that is into his 80's pop music, the kind of music that Senior Doberman was playing kind of foreign to me, sure I had heard of the bosses favourite composers, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart and Grieg, but ask me what music they composed and I wouldn't have a clue. In truth though, having breakfast whilst listening to the boss 'tinkle the ivories', was kind of therapeutic.
That therapy though was short lived, there was the sound of four gun shots, the sound of shattering glass, the sound of a struggle, then nothing. I looked at Wolverine's face he was wearing the same look of shock that I'm sure I was wearing, we both jumped to our footpaws and ran into the study, what we saw made us feel sick to our stomachs, the glass from the massive two story picture window, was now in pieces on the carpet, what was worse was the fact that there was no sign of our boss, Senior Doberman was gone. I took out my cell phone and called Tony back at our digs.
"Tony, get down to the main house pronto, I believe that Senior Doberman has been kidnapped".
The only sound from the other end of the phone was that of Tony cursing and shutting his phone. Tony now arrived at the main house in his own car, a Ford Mustang, he ran into the house and found myself, Wolverine and Todd looking around the study to find some clues as to where the kidnappers could have taken Linkin, Tony then spoke.
"Guys, we have to go, we have a chance to find Senior Doberman, when I first started working for him, I requested that he let me inject a small microchip into the back of his neck, I also had a number of scanners built to trace the boss. Wolverine, take this radio and scanner and head out to the north in the limo, Todd, I know that this is not in your job description, but take this radio and a scanner and head out to the south in your car. Wolfie, come with me".
Without hesitation we all did as we were told, I got into Tony's car and he drove me back to our digs, he handed me my radio and scanner and told me to get into my car and head west, again without hesitation I did as I was told.
With the money that I had received from Senior Doberman, for services rendered, I had bought myself a Range Rove Sport, sure it was big, but it was four wheel drive, and it could move, I got into my car and fired up the 6.5 litre V8, turbo charged engine and pulled out of the garage. Once on the road we all did a radio check to make sure that we could contact each other, with the checks done, I press down further on the gas peddle, through the streets of London I'm heading west and doing between 60 and 80 mph.
After an hour of travel, Wolverine calls in.
"Guys, I have picked up Senior Doberman's signal, I'm heading to an abandoned warehouse complex just north of London, I will set my radio's tracker so that you can pick up my signal, and guys, hurry, I think that we are going to get messy on this one".
I hit the brakes, sending up a huge plume of tyre smoke, I spun the car round and started heading north out of London, with the other two guys confirming they had received Wolverine's instructions, I knew that they too were heading to Senior Doberman's rescue.
After a two hour drive I suddenly begin to pick up Wolverine's homing signal, I look in my rear view mirror and see that distinctive electric blue mustang behind me, closely followed by Mr Styles in his BMW. Suddenly in front of me I spot the limo parked on the side of the road, we all pull up behind and Wolverine speaks into his radio again.
"The bosses tracking signal is coming from that huge disused warehouse up ahead, I suggest that from here we make the rest of the journey on paws, and guys, I know I don't have to say this, but be careful. Mr Styles, I know that you don't carry a weapon, so you will remain here, when we rescue Senior Doberman, one of us will call you and you can then come and pick him up and take him home, whilst we finish up here".
Todd acknowledged Wolverine's instructions, and the rest of us headed toward the warehouse on footpaws.
We walk the half a mile to the warehouse, along the way we all load up our weapons, ready just in case we need them. We head to the main door, there is no sign of any guards outside the warehouse, so we know that it is probably well guarded inside. I sneak a peak through a window just to the left of the door, fortunately there is no one by the door, so we quietly enter the building.
Once inside the building we find ourselves some cover, and begin our search for Linkin. The side of a wall now shields us from the rest of the warehouse, I take a small look out into the warehouse. There, in the middle of the warehouse, completely naked, on his knees and tied to a warehouse support is Senior Doberman. Even from this distance it is easy to see that he has been beaten and abused quite badly, there are just two guards standing over him, both with guns pointing directly at him. Tony and Wolverine now take up positions ready to fire if necessary and I calmly walk toward the Doberman and two guards.
As soon as they see me, the two guards cock their pistols ready to fire.
"I'm unarmed gentlemen, there is no need to fear me, I'm merely here to take my boss home and get his injuries seen to".
One of the guards, a short dark furred hyena, spoke.
"And what makes you think that we will let you come any closer, before we blow your bosses brains out?".
I quickly looked at the guns and knew instantly that these guys were amateurs, both guns had their safety switches activated, meaning that even if their triggers were pulled, the guns would not fire. I spoke again with a slight grin on my face.
"Wolverine, Tony show yourselves".
Wolverine and Tony both stand clear of their hiding places, both with their guns pointed at the two guards. I speak again.
"Okay, that's two very good, very large and deadly reasons, there is a third reason too, to blow someone's brains out with any kind of handgun, you must first disengage the safety catch, oh and before you even think about doing that, just remember reasons one and two, sure you may get the safety catch removed but you won't get to pull the trigger, so that now leaves you both with two options, option one, you remove the safety and try your luck, option two, keep the safety where it is and drop your weapons. Me personally, I would plump for option two, but hey, that's just my choice".
The two kidnappers decided on option two and dropped their weapons, I spoke again.
"Very good, you see even though you are amateur kidnappers, you are learning incredibly fast, now, kick your weapons over to me, and then gently untie my boss, and gently lift him and follow me outside, oh and remember, don't make any sudden moves or rash decisions, as my two colleagues are very upset with you at the moment and it wouldn't take much for them to fill you full of holes".
The pair did as they were told and kicked their guns to my feet, I lean down and retrieve both handguns, I then watch as the pair untie a still unconscious Senior Doberman and lift him to his feet, they then support his weight and follow me outside. On my way to the door I radio Mr Styles and ask him to bring his car to the front door. Once outside I speak again.
"Tony, Mr Styles, will you please wrap something around Senior Doberman, and put him in the back of the car, then you will both head back to the house and begin tending to Senior Doberman's injuries. Myself and Wolverine will remain behind and finish up here".
Without another word, Tony took over supporting Linkin's weight, whilst Mr Styles wrapped a blanket around him, then they both helped the injured Doberman into the back seat of the car, they both then get into the car and drive off, only briefly stopping at the line of parked cars for Tony to collect his mustang, once they were out of sight Wolverine looked at me and spoke.
"When you said that we would both remain behind and finish up, I take it that you mean that these two gentlemen are about to meet their maker, courtesy of the Steel brothers".
I replied to Wolverine's question.
"I've heard about ESP between brothers, but I never really thought it existed, now I see that it does, because that is exactly what I mean by finishing up, we can not allow these two gentlemen to identify us, and most certainly, we can not allow them to attempt something like this again".
Both myself and Wolverine point the muzzle of our guns to the back of the kidnappers heads and force them to walk back inside the warehouse. Once back at the post where they had tied Linkin up I tied them both to the post, then both myself and Wolverine pointed our guns at their foreheads at point blank range, and pulled upon our triggers.
Wolverine and I now walked out of the building, we had cleaned our prints from the guns and left them by the dead kidnappers, we headed back to our vehicles, and headed back to the house.
We arrive back at the house and both rush in to check up on Senior Doberman's condition, amazingly we find that he is awake and fully clothed, he is lying on one of the sofas in the main room, he sees myself and Wolverine standing in the doorway, and softly speaks.
"Wolfie, Wolverine, please come in".
We do as the great fur asks and stand in front of the sofa, he continues to speak.
"I see blood on the pair of you, I'm guessing that it is the blood of my unfortunate kidnappers? I also hope that you made sure that no one could in anyway point fingers at you for their......demise, in actual fact I know this already, after all you are both professionals. I would like to thank the four of you for coming to my rescue, but Wolfie, I would like to reserve my deepest thanks for you and Wolverine".
I thanked Senior Doberman for his kind words, and apologised for not being able to stop his ordeal from happening in the first place. I notice that Linkin's eyes are beginning to close, but before he falls asleep he gives us one final order.
"You have both earned my undying admiration and gratitude, now go upstairs and take a shower, you both look as though you need one!".
With that, Senior Doberman fell into a deep sleep, Wolverine and I availed ourselves of the offered showers and headed back to the kitchen where we find Tony and Mr Styles sat at the table in complete silence, Wolverine and I now join in with the silent sitting, the four of us not wanting to leave Senior Doberman alone for one second.
