As Dredge looked up into Maya's navy blue eyes and just as he went to speak. "Sorry to interrupt Maya and Tikaani I was doing some searching on my database. I've stumbled across something that I'd like to show you in private and it can't wait." Ada stated. Maya refused to leave the room until Dredge gave her question a proper response. To speed up his decision she poked his cock with the hook end of her combat axe.
Despite all of his years of training and practice none of it prepared him for this. Tikaani's patience for this was growing thin and she needed to speed things up. When she fired her revolver fired at the ceiling it made both Maya and Dredge jump. "You've got three seconds to answer or I will put this round into your skull." Tikaani remarked. The second he felt the slightly warm gun barrel against his head that motivated him.
He wisely agreed to cooperate knowing that this other woman was serious. Once he did Maya stood up teasingly kissed his cheek then walked out of the room. With a soft aggravated snarl, Tikaani holstered her sidearm then she followed suit. As she stepped out into the hallway Maya was only a few steps ahead of the Chinook. "That damn computer better have a fucking good reason for calling us away." Maya barked.
Tikaani didn't say anything to the Doberman she continued on to the command post. "Before you or Maya vent your frustrations ma'am but, I found this file moments ago. I'll be perfectly honest Ma'am I wasn't aware of that this test was taking place, Tikaani." Ada replied. She took a deep breath then asked the A.I who was responsible for this mess. As the A.I went to work Maya entered less than pleased, Tikaani silenced her.
"I discovered the heavily encrypted file on Director Patricia Louis' computer. Please, keep this in mind I accidently found this file while finding more info on the spy. What bothers me more is the director keeping this information hidden from me. It's completely unlike the director to do something like this and keep it secret. The part I feel you two may not like is the fact is that this test was planned." Ada stated.
"I can't believe what I'm hearing this entire time was planned from the damn start." Maya growled. As Maya continued her rant Tikaani sat down at the hologram table and asked for the file. Ada took a moment then sent the file directly to the table allowing Tikaani to read it. "Maya quit bitching, go make yourself useful and find some clothes." Tikaani snarled. She glared angrily at Tikaani for a moment and left the room quietly.
Leaving Tikaani to read the files and while Maya tracked down some spare clothes. Luckily with Ada's help the job didn't take long to find clothes that would fit him. <This sucks I was really enjoying staring at that fine piece of male anatomy. Watching Tikaani drool over it was something I thought I'd have to pay to see.> Maya thought. While returning to the interrogation room to bring these clothes to Dredge.
As she walked into the room she tossed the clothes aside then fetched her keys. "I'm going to uncuff you give me any trouble handsome and you'll be sporting a sun roof." She warned. When he agreed to behave himself she unlocked his ankles first and his wrists last. Taking a moment to rub his sore wrists, Maya kicked the clothes over to him. "I'll be right outside seeing as my partner would bitch if I stayed." Maya added.
While he was removing his ruined jump suit a question popped into her mind. She opened the door then closed it part way before she went to say anything. "Mind answering something for me do you have any idea who hired you?" She asked. Doing a bit of a double take Dredge didn't know how he should go about answering. Considering he really didn't know who hired him to come to this base in the first place.
"Seeing as I've given you my word of cooperation but, I don't know my employer." He replied. Maya's head reappeared into the room with the look of shock in regard to his comment. Back at the command post Tikaani's ear twitched when she overheard that on the monitor. <Oh, Fuck Me! This really was a waste of time and resources. Patricia you've got some serious explaining to do when I get a hold of you.> Tikaani thought.
Suddenly the camera in the interrogation room went off then a door closed. From there Tikaani heard two sets of footsteps drawing closer to the command post. When the handle moved Tikaani hooked the strap of her shotgun and kicked into the air. As the door open the barrel was aimed and reloaded as Maya entered the room. "HOLY, SHIT! Mind putting that away before someone gets hurt you gun crazy bitch." Maya barked.
The Chinook lowered the gun slowly until Dredge walked in behind Maya. She retargeted gun until seeing the restraints chained around his wrists and ankles. Lowering her weapon while Maya lead him over to the table and had him take a seat. "What in the blue fuck are you thinking bringing him in here Maya?" Tikaani demanded. Dredge learned that their animosity wasn't an act but, the real thing as the two argued intensely.
Before things turned violent between both women Dredge shouted over them. From his chair he had both women move to opposite ends of the conference room. "Enough, save the feud until this mess is sorted out, alright now sit down and listen." He growled. Tikaani and Maya turned to look at him eyed him intently before sitting down. "Good, now I'm sure by now you've found a file pertaining details correct." He began.
"I received an anonymous E-mail about four weeks ago upon reading the message. My first instinct was to decline the job but, something told to me to sleep on it. So after a nice long shower then a hot meal I decided what the hell and accepted the job. The following day I receive a pass code along with a list of rules I had to follow. My orders were to locate any and all potential leaks in security then mark them." He stated.
Ada was listening to him speak and compared it to the information It uncovered. "So what you're saying that this whole mess was a complete waste of time?" Maya wondered. Neither Dredge nor Ada replied to the still fuming Doberman Pinscher's question. Their combine silence only angered the canine further until Tikaani chose to speak. She asked Dredge if he knew when the base staff and the director would return.
He scratched his chin before going over the finer details of his mission. Dredge even told them where they could find the crate with the gear was hidden. Unfortunately he didn't know when the based staff or the director would return. "You do realize that regardless that you're on our team but, you're still a wanted fugitive. I'm sorry but, I can't let you go Dredge and forgive me for this also." Tikaani said.
He saw the regret in her yellow eyes as she walked around behind him and struck. Maya kinda felt sorry for not only Dredge but, Tikaani as he was knocked out. From there Tikaani asked Ada politely to put a call through to Admiral Rapier's office. Maya packed up their gear while Tikaani re-secured the armor, weaponry and ammo. When she returned to assist in putting their gear away the Chinook had become rather quiet.
Once all their equipment and the sectors were secure the two women began writing. Since transport would be a while they thought it wise to get their reports in order. It killed Tikaani inside to knock Dredge out like she did but, he's a wanted criminal. Despite her hatred for Tikaani, Maya felt a small pang of concern for the Chinook. As the drafts of their collective reports were finished they asked Ada to check them over.
An hour later of tweaking later they were finished then the papers were packed away. "Ada any news regarding our transport to the mainland or are you still waiting?" Tikaani asked. The A.I told her that transport would be arriving in the next four to seven hours. Tikaani was still wrestling with her conscience about arresting a semi-innocent Dredge. Granted Maya wasn't happy either but, even she couldn't disobey her superiors.
Sure enough five hours later the trio were aboard a MH-67 Black Hawk helicopter. After returning to head quarters Dredge was escorted to the brig for the time being. Admiral Rapier ordered both women to get some rest and would debrief them tomorrow. Before leaving his office Maya wanted a rematch with Tikaani and she accepted. From there they went their separate ways and found ways to unwind until tomorrow.
Twenty four hours later they entered the building silently then waited patiently. It took another fifteen minutes before the Admiral called both women inside. Once the pleasantries were out of the way he had Maya go first due to her seniority. As she read her report, Tikaani would add her input if only to confirm their findings. When they reached the end of their mission report when the Admiral asked them a question
"I couldn't agree more that this mission was a complete waste of time and funding. The flip side to this hiccup was a good live test for our outside counter measures. Though I can't help but, wonder why the spy was called in for this test to begin with. If it's like you said the director wanted this whole mess to be as real as possible. Unless you ladies have anything more to add to your reports than you're dismissed." He said.
They got up out of their seats, saluted the Admiral and walked towards the door. He trusted their word as Maya was the first to leave then he asked Tikaani to stay. Once he knew Maya was gone the mature lion walked over to a wooden cabinet. "Tikaani, please sit back down there's something else I wish to speak to you about. Now what I'm about to say hasn't been easy but, you deserve to know the truth." He began.
"Promise, me when this is all over Tikaani, that it doesn't change our relationship." He said. Before she replied he reached over and picked the wooden box up off the shelf. With a heavy sigh he approached Tikaani then presented the box to her and sat down. She reached over then placed her hand over his then gave it a squeeze and smiled. As George reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a key just as Tikaani spoke.
"George, you've known me since the day I was born, you're like an uncle to me. When I joined the service it made you and my father proud besides I have no regrets. So what ever you have to say to me it won't change anything between us." She smiled. Sadly the mature lion just didn't feel the same as he dug deep to find some strength. The look that appeared told Tikaani this must be something pretty heavy.
"Tikaani, just keep an open mind cause what I'm about to tell you is still classified. According to Military Intelligence at least but, we both know you won't squeal. Frenchie your father was my best friend and was someone I could always rely on. Now at the time this mission we were assigned on was a typical recon and report." He began. She gave his hand another squeeze and noticed the tension George was exhibiting.
"Your father and I had our unit break into groups of three to cover more ground. We had a gut feeling there might be snipers in the area but, it was a wide open area. A few destroyed buildings scattered around that were checked out two hours prior. The nearest hills were roughly five miles in any blasted direction sadly we were wrong. At the instant your father and I turned to look at each other that's when he collapsed.
The echo sounded moments later telling us the shot came from a north eastern direction. Unable to mourn the loss of my friend I took charge and pulled everyone back. By doubling back we were able to catch the squad and the sniper fleeing then attacked. At that point in time I thought it would bring him back but, it was too late. Inside that box is the un-redacted before and after report of that classified mission." He stated.
Tikaani was quiet for a good while as she debated about what George revealed. What the Lion didn't expect to happen was Tikaani handing the box back to him. "You keep it George I'm just thankful to know the truth of how he actually died. Don't feel guilty, George at least you did everything possible to make sure it wasn't in vain. I can't begin to thank you enough for giving me closure that I've longed to obtain." She replied. Unsure on how to react Tikaani stood up and pulled the mature lion to his feet.
Before he could say or do anything else she wrapped her arms around his waist. Hugging her back the two close friends finally mourned the fallen soldier properly. He was a true friend, a good husband, a devoted father and he'll be deeply missed. When they let go Tikaani told him she had a promise to keep so they said goodbye. With one more hug and a proper salute Tikaani calmly left the Admiral's office.
As she closed the door behind her, she went to meet up with Maya at the gymnasium. While Tikaani changed in the locker room Maya procured a spot for their rematch. By the time the Chinook return the Doberman was in the middle of stretching out. Following her example Tikaani took ten minutes to stretch out then joined Maya. The referee told both women to keep it clean and simple they touched gloves then commenced.
For two hours straight neither woman got the edge it took the ref to stop them. Never in his career as a trainer had he ever seen such dogged determination before. He was thankful that he got them to stop before someone wound up dead. Ten minutes later he heard the sounds of arguing going on inside the locker room. It got so bad that he asked a female major to go in there and separate both women.
When the major exited the locker room she was shaking after ending their argument. As the two canines exited the locker room they walked angrily away from each other. Luckily no more words were exchanged between the two women to his great relief. Once outside Tikaani walked to the motor pool to fetch a ride back to base. Maya stuck around base until nightfall hoping to join a few soldiers headed for the bar.
"1-1, hopefully if and when our path cross again Tikaani we can settle this feud forever. If not at least we have something to look forward to the next time we meet. Though I can't help but, hope that someday we can end our feud and drink together. Speaking of hitting the bar I wonder if any guys or girls are heading out to one." Maya said. With that she made her way to the mess hall to see if anyone was going off base.
While on route there she became aware of the fact somebody was following her. "We meet again Maya I'd be more than happy to take you out to nice nightclub. That is if you wouldn't mind being my escort tonight since Tikaani has already left the base." Dredge smiled. Upon hearing his voice Maya whipped around and saw the cheetah standing there. "Just how in the fuck did you escape the brig, Dredge?" Maya asked with surprise.
The End?
