#26 of Rising Downfall

THIS IS IT! THE FINAL CHAPTER! WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS ONE? READ ON AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF!

Now we were starting to move on this thing. And the missiles were still in here and they were ready to cause some damage. It was only a matter of time before this thing would start sending out missiles upon different nations of the world. It was time to get serious now.

My team wasn't looking so good. Bradley pretty much had his face bashed in and I can surmise that he had a major stomachache. Tyrone's back was probably ruptured from how many times he was tossed on it. Elgris probably had a broken nose and Tirela might be having trouble breathing because she was choke slammed before. Shang and Zalek were trying to hold their own as well. The beast they were going up against hardly had a scratch on him. There was blood dripping from their fur from the horrible scratches that were on their body.

"Pretty clever, huh?" Avoi started to speak. "All this time you were fighting on an aircraft that's been set to many destinations to deliver these missiles as a present from the Masked Eagles. Everybody will bow before us and we will be recognized as the greatest beings ever to walk this Earth. Even the fabled Elemental Dragons will cower before our magnificent might! It will be glorious!"

I just stared at him and assumed my fighting position once again.

"Are you quite finished now?" I said to him. "It's a nice dream...and I'll make sure it doesn't happen."

He glared at me and then he charged at me, much faster than before. We started to trade blows and countered each one. There were a lot of punches to his stomach and to his face. I wanted to finish this match as fast as possible so there was no room for mistakes. He was getting tired and so was I but I continued to press on. I gave him a swift kick to the leg to make him fall on his knees and gave him another kick to his face and he fell limp to the floor. As he hit the floor, I felt the aircraft pick up speed. We don't know where we were headed but we had to do something to stop this machine and fast.

Things weren't looking good for my canine friends. They were having trouble getting up and that crazy beast was just tossing them around like they were ragdolls. This has gone on long enough. The beast flung Shang at Zalek one last time and they both crashed against the wall again. They could hardly move as they could only see that monster approaching them again. Once he was within' range, it held its paw up, ready to deliver the final blow. I gasped as I quickly went into the pouch that was left by my ancestors and pulled out a couple of small knives and threw it at it. The knives successfully penetrated its fur and its back and it roared in pain. It turned its body and directed its attention to me. It charged at me with fangs bared and tried to swipe at me. I easily dodged his swipes and lunges. It managed to get one kick in from its hind leg and sent me flying into some boxes. It turned and ran toward me and it jumped in the air at me. I thought I would be done for, but I remembered that the gauntlets I was wearing had blades in them. I held my hand out and the blades came out and the beast landed face first onto it. It was a very...interesting sight. Its blood splattered all over me as the blades went straight through its head and mouth. It was choking on not only the blade, but its own blood as well. It squirmed around and tried to get off of it but it was no use. The wiggling stopped a second later and it went limp. I took the blade out and tossed the beast over on the ground.

Avoi slowly got up and he gasped. Apparently, he didn't like what he saw.

"M-My beloved creature!" He cried out as he trembled. "Y-You killed it..." He gritted his teeth and he ran toward me. "You're going to pay for that, hybrid!"

I stared at him as he approached me. As soon as he came into range, I grabbed his arm as he reached out, picked him up from below, and threw him against the wall. I grabbed his neck and held him against it and held the blade by his neck.

"Choose your words wisely, Henry," I said to him in a low tone. "You really do not want to end up like your pathetic creature here. Now, why don't you do us all a favor and stop this aircraft before many innocent lives are lost?"

He coughed and glared at me.

"Even if I did stop it, it's too late," he managed to spat out. "The aircraft is already set to continue on its course. It's over anyway. Judging by where we are, if you were to deactivate the aircraft, we'd land straight into a nuclear power plant. It will cause everybody to be infected by radiation and millions will die. As far as I see it, your only choice is to let this machine send out the missiles and let us rule."

"I would reckon that people would rather die than serve under the Masked Eagles."

"We shall see..."

There was a sudden explosion from the side of the plane. We all looked over and saw a huge hole in the aircraft. It was sucking everything out of the plane and we could see a couple of dragons outside of the hole. It was Grazar, Sly, and Shadowclaw.

"Quick! Everybody out!" Grazar shouted out. As he said this, there were many other explosions all over the aircraft and we could suddenly fell the aircraft start to lose altitude and dip toward the ground.

Tyrone and Elgris helped Bradley up as he could hardly move. Tirela went over and helped Shang and Zalek while I kept my grip on Henry. As we were moving toward the hole, there was another explosion that shook the aircraft and I lost my grip on Avoi and he fell out of the hole. I saw him fall into the open water that we were over. In the distance I saw that we were nearing a nuclear power plant. There was only one thing to do.

"You guys go," I said to them. "There's something I need to do first."

Everybody looked at me and knew what I meant.

"Guil, no!" Tirela screamed at me. "We need to get out of here!"

"If I don't do this, millions of people are going to die. I'm not going to let that happen. There's no time to argue! Now, go!" I pushed all of them out of the hole and they landed on Grazar's back since he was larger than the rest of them and he could carry them. I turned and ran to the cockpit. On my way there I heard someone roar behind me. My guess it was Grazar, of course.

"Dammit, Guil!" was what he said.

I made my way to the cockpit and there were buttons everywhere. Oh my, God... I still did not know how to fly a plane... What was I thinking? I started pressing buttons to try to see if I could somehow turn the autopilot off. After a few seconds, I heard a female voice say "Autopilot disengaged". I did it. Now I had full control of the helm. I grabbed the controls and started to pull back but the ship wasn't moving up at all. I was getting closer and closer to the power plant. I tried to move the aircraft to the left. It was slowly working as I could feel the whole thing slowly drifting away from the power plant and it misses it by an inch. I cheered to myself for a few moments. Then I noticed that I was heading straight to the ground. The aircraft hit the ground hard and dragged across the ground, destroying a lot of grass and trees in the process. Many animals that were in the way either ran, hopped out of the way, or got ran over, which wasn't a pretty sight to see. After a few moments of crashing against the ground, the aircraft crashed against a huge boulder and it let off a huge explosion.

You may be wondering what happened to me afterwards. You will not believe me if I told you. As the aircraft made contact with the rock, the force was enough to lunge me out of the window and I crashed into the bushes and lost consciousness. As I was coming to, I could faintly hear voices calling my name. I was hurt and sore all over. I could barely get to my feet as there were little patches of fire and thick black smoke everywhere. I got up holding my left arm. That wasn't one of the smartest plans I had, but it was better than nothing...and luckily, the explosion didn't hit the nuclear power plant. I started to walk toward the voices and I was happy to see that it was my team. They all gather around me and congratulated me on a job well done.

"Dude, you are freaking crazy!" Bradley said in a somewhat slurred tone. "You totally got my respect, bro!"

"You're a hero, sir!" Tyrone said. I could've sworn I saw him smile through that mask he was wearing.

"I can't keep my eyes off of you for one second without you doing something stupid or getting kidnapped or anything, can I?" Grazar said shaking his head. "You're not making this easy, Guil." He then turned and smiled at me. "But you did do one hell of a job there."

I panted slowly and nearly collapsed from all the action.

"I-I couldn't have done it without my whole entire family..." I said softly. "We all played a role here... None of this could have been possible without all of you...my friends... Th-Thank you, guys...all of you... Let's go home...for real, this time."

We all smiled and started to travel for home. I hope I wouldn't have to do anything for a while. I need a vacation.

The Final Strike
