#1 of The Kingdom of Cylianthe

"I'll just walk up and ask him. It can't be THAT hard. I mean... he's single now... right?" A young woman slowly walked down the path. Her brown hair was up in a messy bun but some of it hung in her face. She continued along, staring down at her feet.

"Venair, what's on your mind?" The girl's head shot up and looked at one of her friends.

"What do you mean, Draco?" She asked. Her dark brown eyes tried desperately to hide her emotions.

"I can see it in your eyes, Vena." Draco grinned; his blue eyes watched her carefully through his glasses. "Something has you utterly terrified." A clawed finger pointed at her close to her nose. Venair had to cross her eyes in order to see the talon.

"I'm not terrified." Venair answered honestly. Another of her friends came and slung an arm around Venair's shoulders. The brown fur along her spine bristled at the treatment.

"What's got you so scared, Venair?" Her friend asked.

"Gods, I'm not scared! Serecs, what makes you think I'm scared?" Venair turned to the friend that had his arm around her.

"You're trembling, first off. Second, your eyes are wide like you're lying to us." Serecs grinned when Venair glared up at him. She pushed his ribs, making him laugh and let go of her. She ran farther up the path while both Serecs and Draco continued to laugh. She stopped running when she was far enough that she could no longer hear their laughter. She panted softly, slouching over to catch her breath. She heard a twig snap and turned quickly, baring her teeth in a snarl.

"It's just me!" Venair looked at the man before her and trembled.

"I'm sorry, Cadriel." She said quickly. Venair crossed her arms under her breasts, unconsciously pushing them upwards. "I didn't realize it was you." Cadriel looked at her cautiously as if tracing every movement in his mind.

"It's all right. I shouldn't have snuck up on you like that." Cadriel smiled at her, his eyes still following her. "What are you doing out here?"

"I..." Venair felt the flesh beneath her fur turn a light pink. "I wanted to see you."

"Oh?" Cadriel looked surprised but could not stop himself from smiling.

"Yes. I heard that... You were going to fight... for the rights of Alpha. Is that true?"

"Yes." Cadriel answered shortly.

"But why?!" Venair's eyes showed her alarm. "You could be killed!"

"That's just it. When you really have nothing to lose, it doesn't seem like that much of an ordeal." Cadriel laughed. Venair's eyes avoided his gaze. "What is it?"

"I don't want you to die. You're my friend." Venair whispered softly.

"Would you like to walk with me, Vena?" Cadriel asked, offering his arm to her. Venair blushed and nodded, placing her hand in the crook of his elbow. Cadriel began walking slowly, pulling Venair close to him. The trees surrounding them had begun to lose their leaves. Various shades of brown, red, yellow and green remained in the branches and on the ground. They walked in silence for what felt like ages. "He was the pack-leader." Cadriel whispered.

"Cadriel?" Venair asked, confused.

"My father... Before he died. He never had to do the Alpha War." Cadriel laughed slightly. "No one dared to challenge him. My mother however... she was forced into the Bitches Dance. Too many women wanted my father as their mate. I suppose that was when they fell in love. During the Bitches Dance. My mother didn't even win. She was the final one to lose. The winner approached my father, ready to offer her belly. But my father denied her." Cadriel looked up at the sky. "My father loved the dance that my mother had done. She weaved through the fight, cutting deep but painlessly. First blood. That was all it took." Cadriel looked down at Venair. His green-golden eyes locked on her deep brown and would not look away. "That is why I have to do the Alpha War. It is my right."

"W-what happened to your parents?" Venair whispered softly, afraid of the answer.

"Sabotage." Cadriel's eyes grew dark in hatred as he seemed to look right through Venair. "My mother and I slept with the rest of our pack... That night... someone started a fire. My father was out on the hunt with the other men... I was too young... He returned to our home in flames. He ran in and pulled me out before he ran in for my mother. He didn't come back out. Neither did my mother. Most the women of our pack died... But the men... There are too many of us for our women." Cadriel laughed. "What of your pack?" Venair looked down, taking her hand from Cadriel's arm.

"The last Alpha War took the lives of all but the elders. The one who had won... didn't stop at first blood. He killed. Once he won... He demanded to have a harem. He didn't want ONE mate." Cadriel growled low in his throat. "Once he got what he wanted, he would kill the woman." Venair's voice grew distant. "The elder's objected when he began to prey on the young. When the adult women had all died... he had to mate with what was there... My sisters... He killed the elders when they fought. I was the last one... the youngest of us all... He came to me while I was asleep..."

"What did he do?" Cadriel snarled, the fur along his spine bristling.

"I snapped his neck." Venair whispered softly. A small tear trailed down her face. Cadriel lifted a paw to her face and stroked the tear away.

"Come stay with my pack." Cadriel offered.

"You have enough bitches after your tail." Venair teased. "Chrinia, Kalie, Savera... And those are just the ones from this month." Cadriel snorted.

"Yes, because I am utterly and completely attracted to whores." Cadriel's voice was completely dripping with sarcasm. "I won't know my mate until the Bitches Dance."

Cadriel took Venair's hand in his and led her deeper into the woods, along the path. Venair had no choice but to follow.

"My Prince?" A voice echoed around them.

"Dammit." Cadriel swore. "I was hoping they would not find me." Venair watched him curiously, not understanding what was happening.

"There you are, My Prince." A young man approached them. His wolf ears protruded from straight black hair.

"Falron, leave us." Cadriel ordered, turning away from him.

"My Prince... if you run, the elders threaten to ban you from the Alpha War. You know you have to do BOTH parts..." Falron chided Cadriel softly.

"Both parts?" Venair asked, cocking her head to one side in confusion.

"The ball of course." Falron said, glancing at her. When he saw her, his posture changed and he bowed gracefully. "Er- Milady." He glared at Cadriel and muttered, "Another one, My Prince?" Venair blushed again.

"I'm not..." Cadriel wrapped his arm around Venair and pulled her close to him in ownership.

"Yes... If I have to attend, she will accompany me... Prepare a dress." Cadriel ordered. Falron bowed and ran off in the direction he had come. Venair turned and glared at him.

"Dress?!" She snarled. "You are going to put me in a dress?!" Cadriel laughed.

"It will be okay. I will be there the whole time. Please... If I don't have a date... All of the women will not leave me alone... You know how my old girlfriends are..." Cadriel's eyes were wide and pleading.

"You could have asked me..." Venair whispered. Cadriel smiled and dropped to one knee, taking her hand in his.

"Dearest Venair, would you please accompany me to the Mating Ball?" Cadriel asked, trying not to let his voice quiver.

"I - " Venair blushed deeply, her eyes looking down shyly. "I would be honored." Cadriel smiled and stood. "But... I don't have anything to wear..." Cadriel laughed.

"You could show up in rags without shoes and with no hair and you will still be the most beautiful woman there." Cadriel teased. Venair looked at Cadriel in disbelief.

"Don't mock me..." Cadriel smiled and took her hand in his again and led her along the path. They stopped in front of a large castle. Venair looked up at it, her eyes wide in amazement. Cadriel tugged on her arm gently, willing her forward. Venair obeyed and stepped forward, keeping close to Cadriel. Cadriel smiled to himself at the feel of Venair's body heat against his arm. They entered the double-doors and looked around. No one was near so Cadriel led Venair up one of the two staircases. Both staircases stopped at a balcony and behind the balcony was another set of double-doors. Venair paused at the balcony and looked around. The room was beautiful, polished until it shone silver. In the center of the room, made of broken floor tiles was a wolf howling at the moon. A large silver and blue circle made the moon in the middle of the floor and the howling wolf was black and deep blue. Cadriel tugged on her arm again and tried to pull her towards the doors. Venair let herself be led down a corridor. Cadriel stopped and turned to a room. He pulled a key out of his pocket and put it in the door's keyhole. He turned the key and the door clicked open. Cadriel held the door open, letting Venair enter before him. Venair entered the room and gasped in surprise.

"Is... that...?" She couldn't bring herself to finish the sentence as she looked at Cadriel, her eyes shining. Cadriel nodded walked to a bed in the center of the room. There were clothes laid out for him as he took them and walked into another room adjoining the one they were just in. Venair took the dress into her hands and felt it. The fabric was smooth to her touch, silky in texture. The bodice was light blue and silver while the skirts slowly faded from silver and light blue, to dark blue and black. She looked at the wire frame that was meant to keep her skirts out and ignored it. The frame would restrict her movements far too much. She carefully slipped into the dress, making certain her tail tucked under so that it would not be noticed. She heard a knock on the door and jumped. "Who is it?" She called.

"Ladies to help you prepare, miss." A young lady's voice sounded from the other side of the door. Venair held the dress to her bust and walked to the door and opened it. Two women brushed in past her. One walked to the vanity and took a brush in hand and the other shut the door and began lacing up her gown. The woman with the brush began to comb through Venair's hair, carefully styling it so that most of it was still loose hair. She weaved strands of blue into her hair to accent her dress. The other woman retreated to the vanity to get make-up once the dress was laced.

"No." Cadriel's voice rang through the room, causing all three women to jump. "No make-up." The woman looked almost defiant but she carefully put the make-up back down. Once her hair was finished, Venair moved to the vanity and carefully lifted the blue powder. Carefully, she applied it so that none of it got on her dress and made a smoky effect with her eyes, causing them to look deep and sensual. She turned to Cadriel who looked at her and could not seem to look away.

"Who all will be there, Cadriel?" Both waiting women gasped in horror at her calling their prince by his first name.

"You two are dismissed." Cadriel growled. Both women bowed and left, giving Venair small looks of confusion. When they were alone, Cadriel turned back to Venair. "Sadly, everyone. All of the clan leaders that directly link to us. The Avians, The Slitherwits, even The Dragons." Venair looked hopeful.

"You mean that Draco and Serecs will be here?" Cadriel looked at Venair in confusion.

"How do you know the Dragon and Slitherwit princes?"

"They are my friends." Venair smiled. "But they won't recognize me in this. I'm not wearing man's clothes." Cadriel walked to her and wrapped her in his arms.

"You look beautiful no matter what you wear, Vena. But you look exceptionally beautiful tonight." Cadriel nuzzled gently against her cheek causing Venair to close her eyes in pleasure.

"Do the other clans need to be here so they know who to become allies with?"

"That, and they also have to do their own rituals to decide their leaders."

"This is a very complicated process..." Venair whispered.

"Not to worry. I WILL win." Cadriel assured. He looked up at the dial in his room. "It is time for us to get to the ball. Now... Because you aren't exactly my mate... You have to dance with anyone that asks you... I'm sorry... But for the sake of peace, please do it?" Venair laughed.

"Anything for you, My Prince." Cadriel shivered at her words before he released her from his arms. He offered his arm to her and Venair took it. He led her back down the hall to where the double stairs were. Two men stopped them and asked Venair's name before opening both doors for them.

"Prince Cadriel of the Lupe clan accompanied by Lady Venair of the Luna clan!" The words rang through the room as everyone turned to stare at them. They slowly walked down the right staircase. Two figures approached them and smiled. They bowed to Cadriel before curtsying to Venair.

"Lady Vena of the Moon clan. What an honor." Curly blonde hair lifted to reveal laughing blue eyes.

"Very funny, Draco." She smiled brightly at him. "How do you always manage to wear shirts around your wings, Draco?"

"It is easier than it looks." A voice said behind her. Venair turned and was met with green eyes. They were sharp and cautious. Feathery grey wings protruded from his back.

"Venair, this is -"

"Kaeldir, Milady, of the Avian clan." The falcon offered a taloned hand to her, bowing deeply. "A pleasure I'm certain." He looked up and smiled as Venair tried not to laugh.

"I am Venair. It's an honor to meet you."

"Kaeldir is the Prince of the Avian clan." Cadriel whispered to Venair.

"Blah." Kaeldir said. "She is a queen surrounded by princes." Venair blushed at the treatment. Cadriel growled slightly, looking at Venair. "Milady, might I have this dance?" Venair nodded shyly and took the offered talon. Kaeldir swept her deep into the dance before Cadriel had a chance to threaten him. "Do you think I've ruffled his fur yet?" Kaeldir asked.

"Cadriel?" Kaeldir nodded "I think that he might never forgive your flatteries." Kaeldir smiled.

"He should be the one flattering you every moment he gets." Kaeldir replied. "A beautiful wolf like you? You deserve to be flattered until your fur is red." Venair giggled. The dance ended shortly after but Kaeldir did not release Venair. "Would you like to meet some others from my clan?" He offered.

"I would be honored." Venair smiled brightly. Kaeldir smiled and took her to another corner of the room where many Avians had found seating. Venair saw a female amongst them all looking utterly bored. She walked to the woman and gave a friendly smile, "Hello there."

"Hello." The girl replied.

"My name is Venair. What is yours?"

"I am Yume of the Avian clan." The girl brushed a strand of light brown hair from her face. "Are you not the Wolf Prince's mate?" Her deep blue eyes peered at Venair curiously. "What are you doing with our prince?"

"I am not quite certain. He asked me to dance and then brought me here." Venair giggled.

"I see..." Yume said. She looked around slowly. "Where is your clan? I only see the Lupe clan here. Where is the Luna clan?"

"Oh..." Venair looked down. "My clan... I am all that is left..."

"I'm so sorry." Yume replied, looking both shocked and embarrassed. She stood and a lively tune began to play. It sounded like a pack of wolves running through the music.

"Would you care to dance with me, Yume?" Venair laughed at Yume's expression. Yume listened to the tune and nodded, smiling as well.

The pair slowly walked to the center of the hall and began to dance and spin, twisting their bodies around. It seemed as though they had been born to dance that way. Venair kicked her shoes off and continued dancing. Without her shoes on, both Yume and Venair were sliding around the floor laughing. Cadriel and Kaeldir as well as the entire room were completely entranced by their dancing. That is, until Cadriel and Kaeldir made eye-contact and nodded to one another. Cadriel kicked off his shoes and ran through the crowd as did Kaeldir. Cadriel took one of Venair's hands and one of Yume's hands in his. Kaeldir took the hand of Venair that was free as well as Yume's other free hand. The four of them began spinning and laughing. When the four finally slipped and fell, the song ended with all three of them laughing. When they looked around, most everyone else had also fallen. Kaeldir, who had landed on his stomach, looked down to see that Yume was trapped beneath him. He blushed and stood quickly, offering a talon to help her up. Venair was in the same position, only she had landed on top of Cadriel.

"Thank you for breaking my fall, my prince." She giggled and stood. Cadriel laughed and stood as well.

"I'm so very sorry that I landed on top of you..." Kaeldir whispered to Yume. "It was a complete accident... I... didn't realize I was hurting you or I -"

"You weren't hurting me." Yume stated, looking into Kaeldir's eyes. Kaeldir blushed deeply and looked away.

"Still... it was inappropriate for me to have lied on you like that... And I'm so-" He was cut off by Yume's kiss. He blushed deeply and closed his eyes, enjoying the kiss. Venair looked around and saw the two Avians kissing and smiled to herself. Cadriel looked at what was making Venair smile and grinned as well.

"I think I know who will be the Avian's new queen." Cadriel said.

"True. It's a shame. I'm not sure if there will BE a Slitherwit or Dragon queen." Venair said.

"Oh, is that so?" Cadriel asked, motioning to one side. Venair turned and looked at where he was pointing. There was Draco, kissing a woman with bright purple dragon wings. She scanned the group looking for Serecs. She saw a green snake tail and followed it to see Serecs kissing another Slitherwit.

"My goodness!" She said. "It looks like everyone has someone." Then she looked at each of them again. "Except... me."

"Oh really?" Cadriel whispered in her ear. Venair turned to look at him, confused slightly. Cadriel took the opportunity and kissed her deeply. Venair took her breath in sharply in surprise before she pressed close and closed her eyes. Cadriel smiled to himself and was brought back to reality by a chorus of howls. He looked up and saw the moon illuminating himself and Venair. They stood in the center of the mural. The moon was aligned with the moon of the mural. Venair looked up at the moon. It was blood red. She shivered and hid her face in Cadriel's chest. She felt the rumble in his chest as he growled in possession before he tilted his head back and let loose a howl that could have shaken the room. The Avians looked to the moon and cawed loudly. The Slitherwits looked to the moon silently as the Dragons roared. When everything had gotten silent, Cadriel led Venair carefully to the balcony over-looking the entire ball-room. "Because the wolves are hosting this time, the Lupe Clan will do the Alpha War first." He said loudly. "After will be the Avian Clan, the Slitherwit Clan, and finally the Dragon Clan." Cadriel looked at Varlet. "The Bitches Dance happens during the Alpha War. You do not have to fight. The Alpha who wins chooses his mate regardless." Venair nodded in understanding as Cadriel kissed her forehead and ran off.

Venair watched as all of the male wolves removed their clothes and stood in a circle, ringing around the moon in the mural. She saw the male wolves all leap in unison before she was tackled. Venair growled angrily and looked for who had struck her.

"He is OUR mate, bitch." A red wolf snarled. There were two wolves behind her. One was deep black and the other was grey. Venair struggled out of her dress and threw it to the floor. She snarled and leaped at the red one, biting her front paw. Venair yelped when she felt a sharp pain in her tail. She whirled around and clawed the one who had bit her. The black wolf yelped in pain and pawed at her own face as the grey one leaped over her to attack Venair. She crouched low to the ground as the grey wolf sailed over her head. Venair lifted her foot into the grey wolf's stomach and kicked her high into the air. The black wolf came right for her and struck Venair hard, forcing her back into the wall. She howled in pain and kicked at the black wolf. She kicked so hard the black wolf sailed over the railing and plummeted to the floor. Venair had no time to wonder if the wolf had survived. She gasped for breath, holding her ribs in pain. The red and grey wolves were both trying to corner her. She bared her fangs threatening them. The hair all over her body stood on end. Venair leaped over the two wolves. The grey wolf jumped for her, aiming at her throat. Venair dodged and the grey wolf tumbled down the stairs. Venair turned and glared at the red one. The red wolf leaped for her and landed on Venair's back, biting into her neck. Venair howled in pain and began circling, trying to get the wolf off her back. The red wolf bit harder into her neck. Venair threw her body against the wall and heard the breath being forced from the red wolf's lungs. The wolf still would not let go. Venair stepped away from the wall before she pushed even harder against the wall. Faintly, she heard howling but she had no time to wonder after it. She reached behind her and grabbed hold of the red wolf's hair. Venair pulled hard, trying to get the wolf to let go of her. She could feel blood begin to trickle down her neck. The red wolf had pierced her flesh. She snarled in anger and fought even harder. Tugging on the red wolf's hair and pressing against the wall. The red wolf began to claw at her ribs and breasts, trying to cut her in any possible way. Venair saw her chance and grabbed the red arm and bit into it as hard as she could. The red wolf only snarled and bit harder into her neck. Venair could feel the blood trickling down her body. She must have been cut on her breast. She titled her head forward and thrust it back against the wall. Venair heard a crushing noise and felt the red wolf go limp against her. She gasped for breath and collapsed on the floor.

Cadriel ran up the steps and knelt beside Venair. He stroked her cheek gently. She winced slightly and opened her eyes, looking up at him. "Gods, Venair." He said, looking down at her. "You sure know how to make a mess." He chuckled slightly. Venair sat up quickly, looking around.

"Are they...?" She asked in alarm.

"Only the red one is dead." Cadriel whispered soothingly. "You fought hard. But... why?"

"She tackled me..." Venair said, trying to remember. "Out of nowhere. I was watching the Alpha War and she attacked me..." Venair said. Cadriel held her close to his chest. It was then that she noticed all of the cuts on Cadriel. "What happened?!" She whimpered.

"Domir wouldn't back down. He knew first blood law but he wouldn't leave... He attacked me as well." Cadriel whispered against her head. "It's all right. You're my mate now." Cadriel whispered, stroking her back gently. Venair trembled slightly at his touch. She pressed against him gently, seeking his comfort. "It's time for the Avian War. Don't you want to see if Kaeldir wins?" Cadriel asked. Venair nodded quietly and looked up.

The Avians also started in a circle around the moon mural. They cawed loudly before taking into the air. Their talons made it seem as though the Avian fight would be easier. But their swift agility in the air made them harder to hit. Kaeldir circled and dove for a target, but his target noticed and swerved out of the way. Kaeldir heard a swoosh of air against wings and turned in time to claw his attacker. The grey avian glared but flew to the ground. Kaeldir looked around before going back on offense. It wasn't long before another of the Avians went after him. He flew through others fighting, trying to lose this crow-like avian. But the crow seemed to have a personal vendetta against him. Kaeldir flew high into the air to look down and see who was pursuing him. This avian had his claws at the ready with the feathers that ran along his body completely puffed up. Kaeldir cawed a warning but the black avian wouldn't listen. Kaeldir stopped flying away and turned to face the black avian. Kaeldir too, had his claws at the ready. The black avian swooped behind him and scratched at his wings. Kaeldir spun in the air, trying to defend his wings from the relentless attack. He began to waver slightly. It was then that he realized the attack wasn't to draw blood. It was to cripple him. He let out an angry screech before twisting and cutting the black avian straight across the chest. The wound opened and there it bled. The black avian glared at Kaeldir and didn't drop to the ground like he was supposed to. Instead, he attacked Kaeldir's wings once again. Kaeldir screamed in defiance. He tried to turn away from the grip of the black avian but he was relentless. The black avian began clawing at the base of his wings, scarring his back and causing him to bleed badly. Kaeldir continued his evasive flying, trying to clear his head. He knew there was a way to defeat the black avian. But he couldn't think of it with the pain in his back. He flew to a stone wall and lifted quickly. The black avian crashed into the wall but recovered faster then Kaeldir had hoped. He cursed this black demon that wouldn't accept law. He scanned the floor as he flew, his mind racing.

There was Venair and Cadriel on the balcony, Yume fighting the other females for the rights to be his mate. Suddenly, his eyes snapped into focus. He flew straight up, aiming for the opening of the dome ceiling. He heard the black avian following him as he continued upward, gaining momentum. Finally when he was almost outside, he turned and paused, waiting for his opponent to come closer. When the black avian was close enough to touch, Kaeldir spun him around and pinned his wings down. Once the black Avian's wings were pinned, Kaeldir let his wings rest on his back. They plummeted toward the ground. They gained speed and finally they both crashed into the mural on the floor. The black avian stopped moving and Kaeldir sighed deeply. He looked around, wondering where the females were. His eyes stopped on Yume and he smiled to himself. She was panting, but there was a very big smile on her face. He walked slowly to her and smiled down at her.

"I've earned my mate." Yume said proudly. Kaeldir smiled brightly and kissed her passionately.

"That you have, my Yume." He whispered to her, running his fingers through her hair gently.

As the Slitherwits prepared to begin their War, Kaeldir and Yume made their way carefully to Cadriel and Venair. All three were badly injured so Cadriel opened the grand doors and let everyone into the halls. As soon as the grand doors closed, all four collapsed onto the floor.

"Good gods, WHAT were our ancestors thinking?!" Venair grumbled. "Why would they want us to kill ourselves just to get a mate."

"We had to kill other beings for the right to lead them." Kaeldir added.

"We should really try to make it to my room before we start... um... badmouthing or passing out." Cadriel said. Everyone grumbled an agreement. Kaeldir was the first to stand. He offered to help Yume stand and Yume accepted. He then turned to Cadriel and offered a hand. Cadriel looked from the hand to Kaeldir before taking the hand and slowly getting to his feet. "Venair?" Cadriel asked, offering a hand to her. Venair mumbled softly in reply. "Dammit." Cadriel growled. "Kaeldir, I need your help... Venair lost a lot of blood in her fight..." Kaeldir nodded in understanding and took Venair's legs in his hands. In an attempt to avoid her neck, Cadriel held Venair around the waist, letting her back rest against his chest. "Yume, it's the room right there." Cadriel pointed with his snout and Yume tried to open the door.

"It's locked." Yume grumbled.

"The key is in my pocket outside..." Cadriel snarled.

"I'm less hurt then the rest of you. I will go get it."

"Just tell the doormen to get us our clothes." Kaeldir said. Yume ran off to do as she was told.

"You have to admit... Even though everyone got hurt, it was kind of nice having our mates be willing to fight for us." Cadriel smiled sheepishly. Kaeldir glared.

"Both our mates were badly injured just trying to be with us. How is any of that good?" Kaeldir snarled.

"At least they are ours so we can take care of them properly." Cadriel snapped.

"I can't leave you two alone for five seconds before you start yelling?" Yume snapped. "Poor Venair can hear you two, you know. She's hurt, not deaf." She dropped the mess of clothes and pulled the pocket out of Cadriel's pants; the key dropping to the stone floor. She went to the door and unlocked it before picking up all of their clothing and walking in. Cadriel and Kaeldir carefully followed her in, carrying Venair as gently as they could. "Nice room." Yume commented while Cadriel and Kaeldir lay Venair gently on the bed.

"I will return." Cadriel said before taking his key and leaving the room.

"Poor Cadriel..." Yume whispered.

"Poor Cadriel?! What about his mate?" Kaeldir screeched.

"That is what I mean. He wanted Venair to not be part of the Bitches Dance. He was going to choose her anyway. But she was attacked. And now she is hurt badly. He tried to protect her and he failed. It has to weigh on him badly." Yume looked at the door sadly.

"Oh... I didn't know..." Kaeldir whispered. Venair stirred and moaned softly. Cadriel came back with rags and a basin of water.

"Venair goes first. Her wounds are the worst." Cadriel ordered. He put the basin of water on the stand by the bed and dipped one of the rags into it. "Venair... This might sting." Yume took a closer look at the basin and noticed it was steaming. Cadriel gently touched Venair's neck with the hot rag. Venair let out a yelp and grabbed the pillow beneath her; trying to displace her pain. "I'm sorry, Venair..." Cadriel whispered. "I should have protected you..." Yume looked over at Kaeldir, a look of triumph on her face. Kaeldir glared at her.

Cadriel gently wrapped a clean rag around Venair's neck and kept it there as he began to clean the wound on her side. Venair winced but remained silent, her eyes shut tight against the pain. After Cadriel looked at her side, he noticed the wound was shallow and decided it didn't need to be wrapped. He carefully began to wipe her breasts clean of the blood. Venair's eyes snapped open and she looked at Cadriel, trying to register what was happening. Cadriel wasn't looking at her, too transfixed by her breasts and what he was doing. Kaeldir and Yume had both noticed Venair had woken up and they tried not to laugh. Cadriel was gentle around her breasts, he knew how sensitive they were when they were not injured; he wouldn't risk hurting her more.

"Enjoying yourself, Cadriel?" Venair whispered. Cadriel looked up, so surprised he dropped the rag.

"Er- You... were hurt... You -er- needed to have your wounds cleaned and-" Venair's laughter cut him off.

"It is all right, Cadriel." Venair said. "I am half surprised you used the rag instead of your hand." She teased. Cadriel blushed deeply but it wasn't noticed due to his deep black fur. "My neck is killing me." Venair sighed deeply.

"Your neck was hurt very badly." Cadriel whispered, stroking Venair's cheek gently. "You will be fine, though. I cleaned your wounds and you are awake now." Venair sat up slowly and nuzzled close to Cadriel's chest. Cadriel smiled and held her close against him.

"Now you, Kaeldir. I saw what the beast did to your wings." Venair said, standing up.

"I am fine. I do not know what you are talking about." Kaeldir said and shifted away.

Venair caught Yume's eye and nudged her head toward the bed, Yume nodded. Yume took Kaeldir's claw in hers, resting her head on his shoulder romantically. Kaeldir looked down at her and smiled. He wasn't paying attention when Venair came up beside him and took his other hand. Between the two of them, Venair and Yume dragged Kaeldir to the bed without him noticing. Until they tried to make him lay down.

"No!" Kaeldir screeched. "Dammit." He grumbled as Cadriel's got in on the fight too.

"He can't be hurt as badly as we think to be able to put up this fight!" Cadriel snarled as he pushed Kaeldir down. "Someone needs to sit on him."

"I will." Yume volunteered.

"My own mate." Kaeldir sighed deeply. Yume gently nibbled on his neck as soon as she was on him. Kaeldir moaned softly, enjoying the feeling.

"Yume, you have to clean his wounds while we hold him. Just get the rag a little damp and clean away wherever you see blood." Cadriel instructed carefully. Yume nodded and began to clean his wounds. Kaeldir squawked a protest and began trying to get up. Cadriel and Venair climbed on to the bed and sat on their knees, using their knees to pin Kaeldir's arms down. Kaeldir muttered to himself as Yume continued to clean around his wings.

"My King?" A knock sounded on the door.

"What?" Cadriel called. The door opened and the image of two naked wolves pinning down an Avian with another Avian on top of him struck the messengers still. "Spit it out." Cadriel said, irritated.

"Serecs is the new leader of the Slitherwits..." The messengers said in unison.

"Thank you. Now go." Cadriel ordered. The messengers bowed nervously and left, closing the door behind them.

"That must have been an interesting image." Yume said, giggling to herself. Kaeldir glared and shifted, making Yume lose her balance and cling to him. "You brute." Yume screeched. Kaeldir smiled to himself and rest his cheek against the pillows as Yume continued to clean his wounds. "You're poor wings." Yume whispered. Rather than mocking, her voice was full of sincere remorse. "They have been ripped to shreds. How on earth were you able to fly?" Having finished dressing his wounds, she began to gently rub Kaeldir's back. Kaeldir moaned softly in comfort and his entire body went lax.

"I... I had to win." Kaeldir stated softly. Yume continued to rub his back, especially between his shoulder blades were the base of his wings gradually began to come away from his back. Kaeldir trembled softly in please. Cadriel and Venair got off their knees, knowing Kaeldir wouldn't struggle anymore. Yume gently ran her fingers against the direction of his feathers. The feeling of his back being preened made Kaeldir moan softly. "Yume..." Kaeldir whispered.

"Cadriel, now it's your turn. The bed is occupied but you still need to be patched." Cadriel looked at Venair, his eyes wide. He began backing away as she approached him with a clean, wet rag. Finally, Cadriel's back pressed against the wall and he looked at Venair, his eyes glowing green with a whimper. "You won't distract me, Cadriel. You were hurt more then I was." Venair was close enough now, that she reached an arm out and began to gently clean his chest. Cadriel placed his hand on hers and looked deeply into Venair's eyes. Venair looked down at her hand, trying to move it. Cadriel lifted her muzzle with a paw and kissed her passionately. Venair gasped in pleasure and dropped her rag, wrapping her arms around Cadriel's neck, kissing him back. Cadriel growled softly in his throat and with one, swift movement, it was Venair that was being pressed against the wall. Cadriel's body pressed against her as the kiss continued on. His body felt hot against Venair's. The parts of her that were not touched by his flesh were alive with chills. Finally, the kiss was broken. Venair rested her head on Cadriel'ss chest and inhaled his scent, her body trembling.

"What is it, Love?" Cadriel whispered, rubbing her back gently. "Are you cold?" He felt her head nod against his chest and he smiled to himself. "I know how to warm you up." He whispered into her ear. Venair bristled slightly, her body tensing. Cadriel chuckled to himself and took her hand in his; leading her into the room adjoining Yume and Kaeldir's room.

Kaeldir pushed his face into the pillows. The pillow muffled his moans of pleasure as Yume continued the delicious torture. She began to stroke more than just his shoulders. Her clawed hands trailed up and down his back, along his ribs, she even massaged his neck. Yume bent gently and used her beak to preen his back gently. Kissing and nipping along his back gently as she still ran her claws along his ribs. Kaeldir could not stand it any longer. He grabbed Yume's arm and lifted her away from his back before turning his body over. Yume blushed deeply when she realized what she had done. Ten thick, strong inches of penis were erect and standing between her legs. She looked up at him shyly and Kaeldir looked back, his green eyes glowing with intensity. Yume blushed and moved her body up Kaeldir's sitting to rest on his stomach only inches from his penis. Kaeldir smiled to himself and pulled Yume's head down to his. Their beaks met in a passionate kiss as Kaeldir gently rested a hand on her neck. Yume moaned softly and pressed against Kaeldir's body.

The feathers on his stomach began to dampen. He took one hand and trailed down his own body to the damp area. Before he reached it, he felt feathers that were not his own. He pressed a finger between the two bodies and felt Yume tremble against his body. Her kiss became even more passionate as he stroked gently, realizing what it was that had made his flat stomach wet, Kaeldir began to stroke her in earnest. Yume gasped, the kiss breaking as she leaned back onto her heels, giving Kaeldir full view of her dripping slit. Kaeldir's eyes widened and he smiled to himself, getting lost in the sight of its glory. It had feathers surrounding; but as her legs spread wider, there were no feathers inside. There was only dripping, pink flesh, begging to be touched and toyed with. He began to play with her breasts, stroking them gently as he pressed a finger into her, circling it around inside her depths gently.

Not one to be a passive participant, Yume gently turned, her slender body flexible as her hands began to play with the feathers surrounding his penis. The penis itself stood out, pink against the steel of his feathers. There were light white feathers at the base that slowly gave way to the bare flesh. Yume wrapped her hand around it at the point where it sprang away from his flat stomach. She gently moved her hand to the tip and back again. Kaeldir let out a moan, his body stiffening at her actions. Yume's eyes widened and she repeated her actions. Kaeldir began to stroke her clit with his fingers that had by now become slick with her juice. Yume gasped in pleasure, her grip tightening on Kaeldir's erection. Kaeldir stroked her clit faster as Yume gasped for breath. The pleasure was so intense she could hardly think. She looked down at her hand and remembered what she had been doing. Yume began to pump up and down along his erection.

Kaeldir used all of the will-power he had left and took his hand away before moving again so Yume was beneath him. He gritted his teeth when the movement forced her to release his erection. He looked into her eyes, waiting for her to ask him to stop. Or for her to just turn away from him. Yume grabbed his neck and kissed him with all of the passion that was singing through her body. Kaeldir groaned and held his shaft below the tip with his thumb and fore-finger, positioning his length along her slit. He gently aligned himself with her opening and pressed the head in. Yume moaned softly and continued to kiss him, her claws digging into his shoulders passionately. Kaeldir's body trembled with the sheer will it took for him to claim Yume gently. Yume's claws trailed down his body slowly to stop at his waist, torturing him with the delicious feeling. Kaeldir's body shook even harder as the cords in his feathered arms strained for the thread of control he held tight. She took in her breath deeply before releasing it through her nostrils as he tunneled slowly deeper. Yume pushed against his hips, drawing him in faster than Kaeldir expected. Kaeldir groaned and his arms wrapped around Yume's shoulders, pulling her against his body in a sitting position.

What remained of his control snapped as the lust coursed through his body like lightning. Yume screeched as Kaeldir thrust inside her body until he felt the tip pressing against her womb. Some of Kaeldir's erection remained just outside Yume's body. It seemed strange to see three inches of erection leading into pink flesh. The three inches had clear liquid that had squirted from Yume's depths while Kaeldir had been pumping in and out of her. Yume moaned and wrapped her legs around his waist, desperately trying to draw him deeper within her. Kaeldir groaned when the movement stretched her inner walls until they were impossibly tight. Kaeldir continued to thrust, stroking inside Yume's body as she clung to him, gasping in pleasure. Yume tried desperately to catch her breath as her orgasm drew closer with each stroke of his body against hers. His erection throbbed and pulsed against the little knob within her dripping tunnel. Each stroke of the shaft against that knob drove both Yume and Kaeldir closer... closer... Kaeldir's own orgasm was approaching soon. The tightness of her body as well as the gasps and moans she was making was driving him close to the edge. He could feel her hot knob pulsating with heat against the head of his erection as he thrust deeper, wanting to feel her womb capture him deep within her and never release him again.

"Kaeldir!" Yume cried as her orgasm hit. She pulled him deeper into her as he pushed through into her womb. Kaeldir groaned her name and came simultaneously. Yume whimpered as she felt the inside of her body on fire. She felt each spurt of cum shooting into her very core as Kaeldir held her tightly in his arms. Kaeldir stroked her hair as jet after jet of cum shot further into her womb. By the fifth spurt, Yume was on her way to her second orgasm. She gasped; so close to the edge. Kaeldir looked down at her and pulled back before thrusting in once more, drawing out another spurt of cum and forcing her to orgasm again. By the time he was done, Kaeldir collapsed into her chest. Yume moaned softly as she closed her eyes in exhaustion. She wrapped her arms and legs around Kaeldir, holding him close to her body as she closed her eyes in content. Kaeldir groaned softly, too exhausted to notice anything but the feeling of his mate's swollen belly beneath his chest.
