Kindling To Start
#10 of Time, Confusion, and the Feelings that Arise
Ah here is the finished product as promised! This chapter was definitely interesting to write and it took a bit longer than i originally anticipated. That being said I hope everyone enjoys reading and I welcome any and all comments and critiques! :3
Conall blinked wearily at the blinding light streaming relentlessly through his bedroom window as he lay breathless yet happily satisfied. It had been a long night though it was not as though he was unappreciative of that fact. On the contrary, Kathleen's eagerness last night was more than welcome even when it stretched into the wee hours of the morning. She had been much more amorous as of late, which to anyone else would seem like something that would not warrant questioning. Yet to one such as him it was all too deserving of his curiosity. The feline had always been willing to jump into bed without any hesitation. Her eagerness would normally not come with questions, yet when he had looked into her eyes there was something more than her usual self behind those intoxicating green stretches of eternity. There was a sadness seated there. A regret that Conall all too often tried to avoid himself. At this rate that would soon turn out to be an impossibility.
The collie turned to look at his beautiful mate. The feline was nowhere to be found. "Kat?" His voice carried throughout the house. It seemed so much larger now that it was just him, though Kat had helped to keep him company more often than not. Conall huffed as his hindpaws hit the floor. He looked down to see his naked fur ruffled and messy from last night's activities. He chuckled and walked downstairs wearing nothing but a cheeky grin. He found Kat sitting in the den, her nose buried in one of her textbooks. She did not seem to notice he was there until she had been pulled into an embrace.
"Conall! Geez you scared me... jerk..." At least she was still playful.
"Can you really be mad at me? I mean look at this. Still mad?" He waited as she took in his naked form. He could tell by the look in her eyes that he was having the desired effect. "Now why are you up so early on a Saturday? Studying no less. I mean I know we need to leave soon but I thought we at least had time to sleep in a little..."
"Our plane leaves in just a few hours Conall... You did sleep in. Besides I couldn't sleep. I know you said that this was the right thing to do... but I just don't know if I can face him after what I did..."
The collie smiled lovingly, nodding in understanding. "I know how you feel. I am not looking forward to facing him either, but Flynn has never been one to hold a grudge. He will appreciate us coming to apologize in person I assure you."
The Siamese closed her eyes tightly, "He nor Emrys have talked to us since... Minus the occasional texts to you checking on things. I have yet to hear from either of them. I mean just because this all happened doesn't mean that I don't..." She paused, looking up at him as she caught what she had begun to say.
Conall chuckled softly, "No need to look at me like that... I feel the same way towards Emrys. I love you, Kathleen, which I never want you to doubt. That being said I do still hold feelings for Emrys. It is not that I want him back, I just want him happy. I know it is the same way for you and Flynn." She nodded slowly as tears filled her eyes. "I know that guilt you feel. I have been there and I know how difficult it is to cope with. You have no need to feel that way anymore. The way I see it now is that we both learned something about ourselves. We need instant gratification. Being away from our significant others just does not work for us. We need to have someone there at all times. That is why we work so well together. That is also why I will never leave you. Not as long as you will have me."
Her smile could brighten up the darkest of days. Kat beamed up at him, giggling softly before pressing her muzzle against his. They remained there for a long moment enjoying the intimacy of their connection. Breaking off left Conall feeling empty, he never wanted to stop kissing her. "Go get ready... We leave in an hour." He nodded and padded back upstairs. This would be one of the hardest things he had ever done, but with her by his side there was nothing he could not do. Besides, their relationship could never move forward until They and Flynn had some type of closure. His little brother meant the world to him and Conall had used that to keep himself from ruining his life completely. After this weekend he hope he would find his way back into Flynn's life once more. Without his little brother there would be no family. Without family, what was there really?
Flynn sighed happily as the warmth of the sun caressed his face as it shone through the large bay window to his left. The large drapes which were normally closed at night had remained open which allowed the morning sun to greet the two furs lying peacefully in the comforts of a king size bed. The collie looked over at the small feline snuggled up closely to him. Caim lay with his head on Flynn's chest, nuzzling the fur softly as he purred in his sleep. The scene was almost reminiscent of his days with Kathleen. There were many times where he woke with her in this exact position. Yet the more he looked on at the slender feline who now lay beside him, the more he was convinced that the ocelot belonged here more than Kathleen ever had. He just seemed to fit better than did the tall Siamese. Caim stirred slightly, mewing in his sleep and kneading Flynn's fur happily. The canine felt warmth entering his cheeks. How could he be so cute all the time?
A sudden end to the peaceful silence came as the collie's phone began to vibrate violently. He sighed as he reached over and checked the cursed message which had interrupted this perfect moment. Fortunately this was not to a message that he would follow up on. Flynn noted Conall's name and ignored the text altogether. He checked in with his brother only when he felt required to make sure there were no messages from their parents. Otherwise he abstained from speaking to the traitor. He knew that he was not upset originally, but to be honest he was just hurt that it was Conall who had been the one to betray him. Kathleen was a different story altogether. If he ever saw her again it would be too soon. He did hope the two were happy together, his personality would not allow him to wish unhappiness on anyone no matter the situation. Besides, how could he possibly be mad? Their actions led him to end up here in the arms of a fur he was quickly falling for. Flynn did not believe in love at first sight, yet he could not deny that love could grow quickly. Even after the short time he and Caim had been together he felt that this was where life had led him to be all along. All of those times thinking that Kathleen was the one were just a stepping stone for what truly lay ahead.
Caim stirred beside him, "Good morning sleeping beauty. I was afraid you were going to sleep the day away." He smiled as the ocelot looked up at him happily.
"You realize just how adorable that was right?" The feline asked warmly. He nuzzled the collie's chest lovingly.
"I can't help it. You seem to be rubbing off on me."
Caim yawned and closed his eyes, "So what do we have planned for today?"
"Hmm... I thought we would just wing it. I mean we both just finished up with an exam block so why not just relax for the day?"
The feline nodded and licked Flynn's chest lightly. "Mmm why do you taste so good in the morning?"
"It must be my chi; keeping it balanced helps with everything else concerning my body, why not my taste?"
Caim giggled, "Too early for all of that..."
"It's almost 11..."
"Much too early..." The ocelot sighed and climbed on top of the now surprised collie. Before Flynn could speak his muzzle met the slender feline's own. Flynn sighed into the kiss, letting himself get lost in the feeling and taste of his lover. Their tongues danced and their forepaws explored one another freely as their passion flared. Flynn felt his member begin to stiffen as his mate's forepaw traced its way down his stomach tracing his abs. By the way Caim squirmed it was obviously having the same effect on him as it did on Flynn. The feeling was almost overwhelming.
Caim moaned as Flynn's growing shaft prodded at his backside. The feline began to grind back into him, causing the collie to shiver in pleasure. The sounds of panting filled the room as the canine began kneading his mate's rear. It was so perfect, Caim fit into his forepaws as if he were made for that very purpose. The feline reached down and positioned himself onto the canine's fully erect cock. He grinned wickedly and began slowly pressing down onto Flynn, his hips slowly wiggling as the collie was pressed deeper inside of him.
Flynn's mind exploded. His forepaws slid up Caim's legs coming to rest on the felines feminine hips. He moaned as his mate began to move, working the canine's shaft as he himself moaned in ecstasy. The two melded together and gave themselves over to the heat of the moment. The room seemed to heat up as their lovemaking intensified. Time slowed as Caim continued riding his lover, gasping and moaning as he reveled in the feeling of the cock filling him. He was not sure if it was that Caim was just that good or if it had something to do with the ever growing feelings he had for the ocelot, but he was sure that he had never felt this amazing. The feeling, the smell, the sight of it all must have been too much for his mate as the feline reached climax more quickly than Flynn would have ever thought possible. He gave a loud moan as he spilled his seed onto the collie's stomach and chest, managing even to get some on his mate' muzzle. Flynn licked it off with a grin.
Caim felt himself being pulled down as their muzzles met. Once more their tongues writhed around each other in a passionate display of love and lust. Flynn moved and began to kiss and lick the feline's neck. A nibble here and there caused his fur to bristle and he shivered delightfully. It did not take long for the collie to have him ready once more. This time, however, it was not he who took charge.
Now lying on his back, Caim screamed in pleasure as Flynn took him eagerly. His thick shaft began to slowly move in and out, gaining speed with every thrust. The collie growled softly as he felt his mate tighten around him. It was one of the greatest feelings he had ever experienced. The canine moaned and picked up his pace, slamming ever harder into his mate. Caim's moans grew louder and he could feel sharp claws digging into the flesh of his back. The knot at the base of his shaft was now swollen and began to slowly push its way in at every thrust. Flynn gave a loud growl and plunged his knot deep inside his mate. The two furs filed the room with their cries of passion as they came in unison. This time they were both left shaking and weak from the exertion. Flynn rolled pulling Caim over on top of him so as to keep his knot buried within.
"I...." Caim panted as he took a moment to catch his breath before finishing, "love you...."
Flynn froze. His eyes locked onto the feline lying atop him still panting softly. Caim's tail swayed happily as his eyes gazed lovingly into his mate's. "W-what?"
The ocelot's eyes narrowed. Obviously this was not the response he had been looking for. "What do you mean 'what'? I said I love you." A mixture of anger and hurt laced his voice.
Flynn lay silent as his mind processed what his lover had just uttered. This was what he had been hoping for yet to hear it said stirred within him a deep fear. His thoughts immediately went to Kathleen and Conall. He knew it was normal to feel scared at this point. What if he ended up being tossed aside once more? Yet the more he thought about it the more he was certain that Caim was not Kathleen. No, he was not one of those that would let fear keep him from embracing a good thing. No matter what happened, this was where he wanted to be. No amount of fear would change that.
He reached up and wiped a single tear from his mate's eye. The feline's fur was angelically soft. "You know I think I should be afraid of this. So many others have been hurt by the ones they loved and have let it keep them from pursuing something that they knew deep in their hearts to be right. I believe this is the point in which I am supposed to run off and cut all ties with you from fear of being hurt again." More tears began to fall. "Hey... no crying. I was never one to do what I am supposed to. I do what I feel is best for me and those I care for. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt what is best for me, rather who is best for me. I love you too, Caim. I love you and I will continue loving you with all that I am."
Caim smiled and his tears fell more freely. It was an odd sight when combined with the smile across his muzzle. "You had me worried you jerk. I have never given my heart to anyone like this. You had me thinking I was a fool. I thought you were going to reject my feelings, say you weren't ready or did not feel the same way. Never..." Silence reigned as their muzzles met in a passionate kiss. The two remained this way for hours as they set their emotions free. Flynn would never forget this moment. It was too good to be true, and he would be sure to make this last a lifetime.
It was some time later when his phone began to ring. He contemplated not picking it up, yet the choice did not seem to be his. Caim instead answered it with a cheery 'hello'. A few words and a tight lipped curse was exchanged as Caim hung up the phone. "That was you brother... he and your ex are at your house."
Emrys allowed himself to continue crying as he clung tightly to his mate. Brandon had walked in without his usual boyish grin. The shepherd seemed to realize just how angry the jindo would be with him having been gone for a week with no contact. The words Emrys had prepared to let fly at the canine died on his tongue to be replaced by sobs. He was just happy to have Brandon back.
"I'm sorry..." Was Brandon crying? "Emrys I am so sorry for leaving you for so long... I truly am. I had some thinking I needed to do, things I needed to take care of back home. I won't be leaving you again sweetheart." He was shaking as well.
"Brandon what happened?" The jindo would be lying if he said he was not worried about what the answer would be.
"My parents... they're dead..."
Emrys was stunned to silence. Brandon had not once shown any hint of emotion toward his parents. Conversations concerning them usually resulted in a swift change of topic from the canine. The jindo had no idea the loss would affect his mate so deeply. "I'm so sorry love..." It was all he could say. Nothing could serve as comfort more than just being there in this time of sorrow.
Brandon brought the slender canine's face up, kissing him deeply. Emrys melted into the shepherd's muzzle. A few moments passed before the shepherd pulled away. All at once it was as if the floodgates had been opened. Brandon spilled everything that had happened in the course of the week he had been home. Everything from his parents' death to the time he spent in silence as he sorted through their belongings. Emrys wished he could have been there for him, wished he could have helped him through this difficult time. Yet he had been here, alone and worried. He would make up for that lost time with his mate. The shepherd would never have to bear this pain alone.
A knock at the door pulled them out of their tender reunion. Emrys kissed his mate's cheek before moving to answer the door. He wiped his face as he opened the door to find two familiar furs smiling at him. The smile's immediately disappeared as his own muzzle twisted with an angry grimace.
"Did we... interrupt something?" Conall spoke hesitantly. He should not have been the one to speak first.
"What do you two want?" He did nothing to hide the distaste in his voice.
"Who is it?" Brandon walked up, his boyish grin returning though it did not reach his eyes. "Let me guess... Conall and Kathleen. You two seem to have horrible timing."
"Oh? Looks to me like we have perfect timing. Why was Emrys crying?" Conall bristled slightly and Kathleen's green eyes narrowed.
"I don't think either of you two deserve an explanation. Our business is our own. You two lost your privileges some time ago."
"Brandon..." Emrys pulled his mate back. "What do you want?"
The two furs sighed and began detailing the reason for their sudden visit. Their story was longer than Emrys had expected and by the end he felt no better than when the two had begun. "So you want to apologize to us? For hurting us? For treating us like our feelings were shit? Please. I put that behind me some time ago. It is Flynn who really deserves the apology. You two really messed him up."
"Luckily we were able to fix him pretty quickly." Brandon said as he smiled down at his mate. "He seems much happier now actually."
Emrys watched Kathleen's eyes for any sign of a reaction to the shepherd's comment. Sure enough it looked as though some of the shine that had been there faded slightly. "Well... I guess you two can come in. I'll call Flynn. Hopefully he is not too preoccupied at the moment." With that he motioned them all inside. His phone seemed heavy as he pulled it out of his pocket. He paused and reached over, tugging Brandon's head down by the shirt collar and kissing him deeply. His mate moaned softly into the kiss and Emrys could almost feel the shepherd's tail wagging. "We will finish this later..." He said releasing the grinning canine and dialing his best friend's number. Surprisingly it was Caim who answered, and rather cheerfully at that.
"Caim? It's Emrys..."
"Emrys! Did Brandon finally make it back?"
"Yeah! He did. Thankfully..."
"You sound upset... He didn't do anything stupid while he was away did he?" Caim seemed to be in quite a good mood. He was sure the collie had something to do with that.
"No, he knows better than that." The jindo winked at his mate. "Listen, tell Flynn he needs to come home. In fact I think it would be best if you both came."
"Okay? What's going on?"
"Kathleen and Conall are here. They want to speak with him."
A brief silence followed before Caim muttered a response. "Okay... We will be there soon...Damnit..." He hung up. Emrys was unsure if he was supposed to have heard that last part.
"Okay. They should be here shortly."
"They?" Conall said as the two furs glanced curiously at one another.
"Flynn and his mate..." He was eager to see just how Caim would handle this.
