#1 of Two Halves of the Same Whole

This is a new project that me and Tattersol are writing together.

You can read his perspective on his profile, and I'd recommend reading his other works.

It all started when I decided that I was leaving this place behind. My phone is charged up, bags are packed, I'm ready to move on! And now I can finally get out of this crappy town and see just how much greener the grass is on the other side.

I didn't really have a good reason to leave the town I lived in. No one bothers me, streets are clean, and crime is low. But the atmosphere just didn't suit me. There really isn't a better way to describe it, but the air simply isn't right for me. Breathing in the same old lifestyle isn't enough to make me truly happy. Every day I wake up the check engine light pops up in my head, So screw it, I'm outta here.

I opened the front door up, took a step outside, and let it slowly close shut. I took a deep breath, and headed off into the woods checking in with my compass every once in awhile making sure that I wasn't heading in the wrong direction.

A few hours passed and the ever so familiar sound of crickets started to chirp in. I wasted no time, and used the few minutes I had left of sunlight to gather some sticks and rocks to start the fire. I quickly pitched up my tent and sat down next to the fire watching the moon slowly rise from the east.

But before I could really retreat to the comfort of the night, a sound of something rustling loose foliage on the ground startled me. I froze in place like a little girl getting her first shot at a doctor's office, I wasn't sure what was producing the sound. My heart beat started to rise into higher numbers, and the waiting killed me. The idea of fainting was starting to dawn on me, but to my surprise I wasn't alone on the idea.

I was more shocked then horrified, a bloodied up Lucario found his way into my camp and passed out face down leaving a small indent in the dirt.

"Oh god... uh are you okay?" I obviously didn't get a response so I was left with two options. Do nothing at all, or try to help.

I quickly chose the second option and made quick work making hand made bandages with some cloth from my t-shirt. Trying not to waste more time, I crawled towards the wounded Lucario and started my evaluation. The first thing I noticed was a huge gash running up the underside of his leg, and I figured that needed immediate attention.

"I gotta roll you over will quick okay?"

I knew I wasn't going to receive an answer, but I felt a little better knowing I asked. I carefully rolled the Lucario over, trying not to make the already bad gash worse, and to my relief his front side wasn't too badly cut up minus a few little scratches that wouldn't need much attention.

Trying not to waste more time, I poured a little bit of water from my canteen on his wound, in some attempt to clean the wound. The sight of blood was making me slightly nauseous but I had to keep reminding myself that what I was experiencing was nothing compared to what he just went through.

I finalized my first aid by putting the Lucario in my sleeping bag, and pushed him into my tent trying to provide an ample amount of comfort. I went through the different scenarios that could of occurred when he woke up, but in my mind I did the right thing.

Still though, can't even imagine what he could of possibly of been through in the past few minutes. How will he react to me?

My thought process was quickly cut off from the sounds of my sleeping bag scraping against the ground.

I turned around to see an image I wouldn't easily forget, and I just couldn't help but give a slight giggle.

"Alright buddy." I had to restrain myself from laughing before I could finish the sentence. "You shouldn't be trying to worm your way off with my sleeping bag."

But to no avail, he either didn't understand my words, or just didn't care, but he kept up his struggle to wiggle his way off into the forest.

"Hey look, you aren't exactly fit enough to leave, and I can't let you take my sleeping bag either."

But once again my words had no effect, so I had to take a more physical action. I quickly stood up, and hurried towards the Lucario before he could hurt himself further.

"I know you don't trust me, but you really can't leave right now."I grabbed the bottom of the sleeping bag, and slowly started to pull him back towards the camp, and away from the other possible dangers in the forest.

I was totally shocked when he started to growl in protest, and even more shocked when I heard him shout, "let me go human!"

Even though his sudden outburst frightened me, I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I let him crawl to his eventual death.

"Trust me, I don't want to hold you against your will, but you were the one who passed out in front of me, so what else was I supposed to do?"

He shouted back at me, "Let me go! Your kind did this to me!" I froze in place, amazed from the words he just spoke. I didn't do anything.

"And your kind will always oppress my kind!" And to make the whole deal worse, he shredded up my sleeping bag and made a break for the forest. But luckily for me, and for him he didn't make it too far. Just like last time, he face planted onto the dirt leaving an audible thud.

"Oh gee thanks, ruined my sleeping bag, and now I have to drag you back again!" I was honestly pretty agitated over him being so stubborn, and now sleepingbagless. But that little bit of anger made it easier to slide his limp body back towards the camp.

A few restless hours passed as I sat tending to the fire, and checking up on the Lucario to make sure he was still breathing. Sunlight started to pour through the leaves on the trees, reminding me I literally didn't get a chance to sleep.

I groaned out, "hope you wake up soon, cause I'm gonna pass out here shortly."

I took my eye off of him for just a few seconds, but by the time I looked back, he was on his feet again stumbling towards the clearing.

"Give me a break!" I jumped up to my feet once again and ran after him. I wasn't really sure of the best way to approach him, but I did the first thing that came in mind.

I ran up behind him, and quickly threw my arms around his stomach, holding tightly enough to prevent any further movement.

"Alright before you kill me at least listen to me for once. This forest will kill you in your condition, do you understand?"

He yelled in protest, "stay away from me!" But before I even had a full chance to react, he struck me in the face instantly knocking me to the floor and blackened my vision.
