Footsteps quietly patted along the packed earth of the worn road. Shensu was halfway through a long road in the forest from Shintenchi to Usho. The trees towered above him and blocked most of the sunlight from reaching the ground. Shrubs and bamboo sparsely added to the tall pines and oaks, but never interfered with travel in the road. The road itself snaked down a little as it entered the flatter land closer to Usho, which made traveling a literal walk. He carried a staff and short sword and little else on his person. Both were for self defense in case of a stray bandit, but this region was well known for its peaceful countryside. Many poets even came to the area for inspiration inside nature without fear of being robbed or held for ransom. The traveler continued on the road only to pause and hold his head high in the air taking a fresh breath.

"Ooh! Food!" Shensu's nose picked up the smell of cooking as his feet carried him to the source. Around a bend in the road sat an old man eating with a pot over a dying fire. His stomach growled loudly.

"Hello!" He greeted the traveler.

"Hello!" He greeted the bald white bearded man.

"Sit down. You look like you have been walking all night!" The elder prepared a bowl for the traveler. Shensu gladly sat down along the edge of the road before the old timer.

"Oh thank you. It smells good!"

"Tastes even better!" He laughed handing Shensu a bowl of the rice and curry.

"Mmm. This is delicious." Shensu savored the taste. "You know how to cook!"

"No need to thank me." He modestly replied. "Are you on your way to Usho?" The older traveller inquired setting his bowl down as Shensu helped himself with seconds.

"Yes. I am from around Shintenchi, and I plan on staying for a few days to meet some friends who live there." He paused to take a bite. "How about you?"

"I've been traveling through the prefecture for a few weeks. The countryside is beautiful and I met a few poets and even an artist working under a cherry blossom tree. I even talked to a Buddhist monk traveling to a mountain retreat in Shinano."

"Sounds very inspiring."

"They were all very beautiful experiences, but after I reach Shintenchi I'll go west to Iye where I live. So ends my adventure, but I did enjoy it all."

"I hope that I will have time to travel a lot when I am your age."

"I hope so too! Now what keeps you from traveling?"

"Mmm. Mostly fieldwork." He finished setting the bowl down. "Like on a farm or woodcutting. You see I worked on my parent's rice paddy fields for years before they passed away. After inheriting all their land I hired people to help work it, although I do not work alongside the other peasants on my land anymore."

"Why not?"

"One was cutting with a sickle too close and accidentally cut me from my waist to my knee." He patted the area. "But I made a quick recovery."

"That's good to hear, but I am too old for fieldwork now." The old man laughed cheerily. "Maybe I'll be too old for traveling soon."

"Not if you find an alchemist!" They both cracked a hearty laugh at that. However, the older man's smile quickly faded. "Something wrong?" Shensu asked as the old man looked around.

"I thought I sensed something." He quietly spoke with a suspicious expression.

"Another traveler approaching?" The old man merely shook his head. "A demon or spirit?" Shensu asked cautiously.

"I couldn't tell." He shook his head. "It appeared, then disappeared."

"How can you tell? I didn't feel anything." Shensu noted the normal forest hadn't changed.

"I was a Shinto priest for the Inari shrine most of my life before retiring. I think it's best if we head out separate ways now." He began packing his belongings.

"Let me help you." Shensu offered dousing the low fire and gathering the cookware. "It's the least I can do for the meal."

"Thank you youngster."

"My age is hardly young."

"To me it is!" The old man cackled tying everything to the bag that couldn't fit inside it. "Please take this if there is an evil spirit or demon out there." He handed Shensu a small folded red piece of paper in the shape of a triangle.

"Thank you, but I hope there isn't any trouble for me."

"Then keep it just in case something happens later in life. It is small, but strong against evil." The old man stated and began hiking up the hilly end of the road to Shintenchi. Shensu parted ways with the old timer, unaware that he was now being watched.

'That elderly man cooks exceptionally!' Shensu rubbed his stomach in appreciation from earlier in the morning. He could barely keep his mind away from food after the delicious meal. The traveler was only a twenty or thirty minute walk to town, and was itching to find a good room in his favorite inn. "The Kasekawa Inn has a great room on the second floor." He pondered aloud. "I hope no one else is rooming there-"

"I'm lost!" The traveler halted hearing a voice of distress ahead.

'What in the world?'

"Help!" The voice cried once more moving him to act.

"Hold on!" Shensu hurried along the road finding a young woman crying on the edge of the road.

"Help. I'm lost!" She sobbed holding onto the tree. He approached to help, but felt the charm in his kimono and halted. This was very suspicious.

"Why are you so far away from a town or village maiden?" Her decorative blue and white silk kimono displayed someone of great wealthy status, and why would a wealthy lady be this far in the forest? They were still a good distance of travel from town too. She sobbed pitifully, but oddly remained by the tree. "I won't fall for your treachery vixen." He warned her holding his staff defensively. The woman feigned tears for a moment longer before a wicked smile formed along her lips.

"You are a smart one." Her voice calmly stated. A furry clawed hand emerged from her kimono and removed the human face like a mask revealing a white furred fox face with black facial markings.

'A white kitsune.' He recognized the creature before him and quickly counted the tails waving behind. 'Only four.' He remained calm, although the red eyes were unsettling. 'She isn't that strong, but still very dangerous.' The kitsune slid the mask somewhere inside her kimono and folded her arms calmly. Her triangular ears remained alert and awaiting. "Move aside please so that I may continue undisturbed along the road."

"I'm here for you." She shook her head cutely at the traveler. The kitsune's tails extended like floating snakes towards him. He frowned at the black tips and swung his staff only for them to back out of reach. "Don't tire yourself out." She advised using the four tails to lash out again. The human quickly jumped out of the way of one, and then another. He fought them off to prevent one from coiling around him or his staff.

'They're fast!' He noted how quickly they could rebound and strike again. The fox kept up the assault one tail at a time, waiting for the human to make a mistake. Shensu continued battling each back to their controller. "Ah!" Shensu knocked one away from his ankle. The kitsune retracted all of her appendages and struck with them. With a quick sweeping motion the traveler whacked each one aside in a single stroke much to the fox's dismay. With all four appendages down, he lunged forward and swung his staff at the defenseless opponent. The fox ducked much to the human's surprise and sprung back up inches from his face. She grabbed his wrist tightly with a clawed hand and pressed the other against the center of his chest. Shensu could feel the heat from her hands very clearly despite being clothed. His back arched in a gasp feeling a funny tug where her palm rested. He knocked her hand away and the funny tug sensation immediately stopped. Shensu retreated and stood back panting. His body felt worn out as if he had just climbed half a dozen tall trees. The kitsune's tails returned to her side waiting to attack the human again. "What did you do to me?!" He felt over his chest where she had just touched him.

"I only took a little of your physical energy, but the more I obtain, the weaker you will become." The human stared back at her dumbfounded. "Why the surprised face?" She feigned innocence as he shakily returned to his stance. "You can't be that tired now, can you?" She chuckled with a wide open grin. Shensu nervously swallowed and closed his mouth.

'That's a grim prospect, but I won't let her hands get too close again.' He gripped the wooden weapon tightly, and quickly dashed forward. The four tails lunged for him in challenge. He turned his staff and skillfully knocked the bothersome pseudo arms aside leaving her body open for a quick strike. Stepping within arms reach, he drew his staff up for a clean hit on her head. The fox stared at him fearlessly. With blinding speed, a new fifth tail silently shielded his hit and curled around the edge of his weapon. "How-?" He was cut off as an unseen sixth and seventh tail yanked his ankle into the air causing him to fall hard on the ground. An eighth and ninth tail wrested the haughty staff from his hands and tossed the wooden pole into the trees with one fling. He blinked in shock seeing a now nine tailed kitsune looming over him like a god does to man. The human scurried behind a tree before they could strike and caught his breath.

"I promise we can save so much time if you just surrender right now to me." She offered and waited for his reply. Shensu drew his short sword and brandished it fearfully. He didn't know what she wanted from him, but this wasn't just a friendly game of sparring. Shensu ran from his tree to another further away hearing her approach. "Don't tell me that you're retreating already." She gave a toothy smile stepping towards him. "I thought a healthy human like you could brush a petite vixen like me aside?" Her tails danced in the air playfully. Shensu gathered his bearings and held his short sword confidently as she approached. A black tail tip entered his peripherals from the tree's bark. He swiftly jumped out from behind the tree and grabbed one of her extended tails. He tried striking it with his sword, but the soft fur slipped out of his grasp. A few others reached forward to grab him, but were deterred with a quick slash from his blade. The human retreated further into the woods in an arc to keep close to the road. The kitsune had a tougher time attacking him with so many trees between them, and any that got through were open to attack. Shensu sliced at any appendage that can hear him quickly frustrating the fox's attempt at getting close to him. Her nine appendages had to constantly redirect themselves through the trees to not impede her movement.

'Just a little more.' He edged his way to the now defenseless road, swatting at a few pesky black tail tips. After circling the fox enough by the trees, Shensu was left with the escape route that he desired. 'The road is open!' His heart jumped at the gracious opportunity. Shensu ran two steps, but his arm was pulled back roughly on the third, hurting his shoulder. "Aah!" Turning his head, one white tail had managed to coil itself around his limb like a snake while the fox slowly approached him.

"You almost escaped." She congratulated him. The tail tugged him back enough so that another could do the same to his ankle. Shensu tried prying the on his arm off only to reveal the furry black tipped appendage wasn't leaving. Others immediately began coiling around his other arm, legs, torso. He struggled just to walk, but they held him in place. "What are you-" Shensu was cut off as one wrapped delicately over his mouth, silencing the human. He stiffened up feeling the kitsune press up against his back with her feminine front. The traveler continued struggling even as her left arm wrapped over his stomach. Her right hand firmly held the human's chest where his heart was. The vulpine's fingertips and claws clutched his skin tightly. Shensu panicked and began thrashing around unable to break her grip. "Hey! Mmrph! Get off mmph!" He yelled fearfully unable to escape. Her right palm pressed over his heart just like before until a slight tugging was felt. 'She's draining energy like before!' He panicked and tried squirming out of her grip, but her appendages kept him fixed snugly in place. The furry coils nearly had him covered head to toe, frustrating every single attempt to wriggle free. The human's movements steadily became weaker and increasingly tiring as her extra tails remained curled around his legs and shoulders.

"Just wear yourself out." She teased flexing her fingers. "Panicking will only give you thirty more seconds." His weak struggles finally stopped as she drew more and more energy out of him through her palm. The human's eyes began to droop feeling an incredible coziness overcome him. His arms dangled by his sides uselessly as her tails loosened considerably. His body started leaning back into her embrace, enjoying the radiant feeling more and more. He saw her black nose and whiskered muzzle beside his face. She didn't say anything, but hummed happily instead. The sleepy tired feeling only grew as the remaining tails curled around his neck and waist, simply keeping him upright and still. His head leaned back onto her shoulder, even resting his cheek against her own.

"Mmmm." He hummed quietly. The feeling was almost arousing.

"That's it." She began rubbing his front with her left hand. "Just give in to me." Her voice echoed around him as his eyes closed. "Perfect!" She could hear him breathing softly. The fox removed her hand and cradled the human close to her body. Shensu mumbled something inaudible from the abrupt movement as she used her tails to maneuver him to her back. 'I think I took a little too much energy. He fell asleep for a minute.' She carried the tired male on her back with her tails through the forest after retrieving his two weapons. 'But this attractive male has a lot in store that I desire.' Shensu watched the ground move as her paws trekked over the smooth terrain only to fall asleep once more. The vixen happily walked alongside the road before veering off deeper into the woods. She soon reached a tall cliff face with a hidden entrance along its grey stoned walls. Up above towards the edge was a small temple and shrine facing away from the forest. They were at the edge of town that Shensu originally planned on traveling to. The den however, was perfectly hidden away from curious villagers and travelers alike. The kitsune stooped forward and entered the small enclosed space.

Her animalistic eyes instantly adjusted to the darkness as she carried the traveler to a fur skin covered mat. The sleeping human was carefully laid down and looked over by the vixen's keen eye. He was wearing a basic male's kimono that fit tightly around the joints but was loose enough to move around in. "Oh?" She felt something under the clothing. She pulled out a red piece of paper folded into a palm sized triangle. 'A charm to deter evil spirits.' She recognized the writing flipping it over a few times. The kitsune ripped the paper in half and set the two pieces aflame with a disdainful frown. 'I am not an evil spirit!' She untied the obi sash to part the man's garment as the paper was turned into ash, and was delighted to see he wasn't wearing anything underneath. The kitsune used her tails to swiftly take both off and folded them into a pillow for his head to rest on. She parted his legs and sat between them, unable to wipe the grin from her muzzle. His body was lean from working in the fields and had a noticeable tan. "Aww." She felt over a long scar on his leg feeling sorry for his arduous life. Shensu stirred from the vixen's touch and the noticeably cooler air. "Welcome home." She giggled at the cliche as he came to.

"Where are we?" He recognized the kitsune's voice and looked around the cave like setting with confusion. It smelled like a freshly sunned fur pelt. Her tails danced anticipating the question.

"We are under a temple dedicated to fox spirits. I live here." She took off her kimono, allowing the silk to glide over her fur to the ground. Her voluptuous body was a stunning eyeful for the traveler. Sleek white fur covered her entire body except for two pink nipples poking out from her prominent breasts. Her mischievous tails brought him back to reality from the lustful figure before him. Shensu tried sitting up, but a furry hand nudged him back down. Her nine tails danced excitedly before descending on him like an ocean wave.

"Ah." He gasped as the silky smooth fur entwined over his bare body much like coordinated snakes. Each soft tail brushed divinely over his bare skin finding a limb or place to curl around. "So soft." He moaned.

"I'm glad to hear that you like my fur." She dangled a white tail above his face and tickled his nose teasingly.

"Please don't kill me!" He pleaded with fearful eyes.The kitsune looked down at her male snugly wrapped up in her nine appendages.

"You won't need to worry about that with me around." A warm leather and fur hand touched his leg causing him to jump.

'I can't move.' He tried rolling his body over only for her silky tails to keep him immobile. "What do you want from me?" He pleaded for an answer as one coiled behind his neck. The human felt very vulnerable.

"I need your energy." She stared at him with a toothy smile.

"You already took that." He weakly replied wishing it would come back faster.

"Not the weak basic kind." She trailed off bringing her hand up to his flaccid male hood. "A different kind." He stiffened as she held his member carefully.

"Wha-?" Her padded hand gently began manipulating the organ causing it to twitch and grow before her eyes.

"Your seed." The kitsune's other hand cradled his balls, tracing her thumb over their smooth skin. "It holds a very powerful energy that I desire." The warm hands caressed him to full prominence. Shensu watched his member throb in her grasp, not knowing what to say. She scooted forward and sat on his legs, pressing his member into the downy fur a over her nether regions. "I knew following you would be a good idea." The fox pet over the male organ, rubbing it gently.

"You followed me?" His toes curled from the sensation.

"I couldn't resist." She admitted rocking her hips to stimulate his underside. "But that priest found me for a second."

"The old m-man? Nngh." He groaned as the fur rubbed sensually under his member. The kitsune murred and slowly raised her hips allowing her sex to touch him. The heated nether lips drew lewdly against him before she stood on her knees looming over his painfully erect male hood. She rubbed two fingers over her mound in anticipation. "No wait-" Shensu strained to move but as weak as his body was, he wasn't going anywhere. The vixen licked her lips and impaled herself on his male hood despite the protest. He bit his lip and held onto the vixen's tails feeling her inner silken heat envelop him. The vixen grinned feeling him pulse inside her, and started out simply enough by rocking her hips. Her iron strong walls rhythmically caressed him, drawing a soft moan from his throat. "Oh gods and spirits." He moaned again from the divine ministration pleasuring him thoroughly. Any movement he made only added to her caress.

'Flatterer.' The kitsune couldn't help but lightly blush at the effect she had on him. The kitsune slowly leaned forward so that she was lying over top of him on her elbows. He noticed her breasts dangling like bountiful peaches between them with every bounce, further fueling his arousal. His worried eyes met her playful red ones, she returned a smile to his surprise. The vixen pressed her nose against his own, but she didn't stop there. Her hands cradled his fur less cheeks as she kissed him aggressively. The short fur around her black lips prickled his skin like her claws, but her smooth tongue slipped past his lips. All the sensations at once flooded the human into a blinding heat of physical pleasure. Unable to stop her, he moaned feeling her tongue lustily play with his own. She couldn't deepen the intimate gesture though with a long muzzle to his flatter face though, but that didn't detour her from trying. The mystical vixen's hips didn't slow throughout the kiss and eagerly pleased the helpless male below her. "You can't hold it in forever." She gave his neck a rasping lick before gently nipping the skin. He squirmed as if to protest, but was only successful in moving his hips.

"Time is against your efforts." The vixen cooed lovingly. He whined feeling a bead of pre escape his length and enter her body. The tiny increment of energy was quickly absorbed, and the vixen increased her efforts hungering for more. "Give in to me. Love me." She crooned laying the rest of her upper body on top of the human's so he could feel her breasts. The hunger in her red eyes could clearly be seen as he weakly twisted in her grasp. The pleasure was becoming too much to handle. He struggled in vain only for the silky fur to rub over his skin soothing him. Shensu's entire body tingled warmly as his member ached inside of her. "Give in." She whispered rubbing her cool damp nose over his own. Shensu shuddered and tensed under her tender control. The vixen's strong silken walls tugged and coaxed his overly sensitive flesh knowing that it was almost over.

The kitsune yipped ecstatically as his hips bumped into hers spilling his seed. Her body received rope after rope where it was quickly absorbed into her being. Shensu started seeing spots as every drop was perfectly milked from his length. The vixen's body surged from the intake.

'Oh wow that was lot!' She shook feeling the extra energy being stored in her womb. This one intake would last weeks, maybe even months without any food! The human beneath her panted from the exhausting love making, but basked in the powerful afterglow. Like in the forest earlier Shensu began to feel incredibly cozy and all of his negative emotions dissipated. He could feel his heart beating against her breast as their body heat mingled together comfortably. The kitsune's tails didn't even need to hold the human down anymore, and instead chose to lay over his body to keep him warm. His head leaned into her touch feeling a warm padded hand caress his cheek. "Oh yes. We'll be together for a long time." She pet his cheek while giving the other one soft kisses and nuzzles.

"Long time?" He mumbled feeling her tails loosely curl around them both.

"An eternity." She relished the thought. "But let's sleep first." She snuggled up close to him, nuzzling her muzzle under his chin. Seeing his situation in the long run, Shensu wrapped his arms around her back in a hug and closed his eyes. The fur on her back was just as soft and delightful as everywhere else.

'Maybe we can still make it to town.' He thought finding it harder to stay awake. The kitsune murred giving his chin a loving lick in return.

"Goodnight." She watched her mate fall asleep. "We'll get to know each other soon."

Epilogue: several months later

A cliffside temple proudly stood near the edge of a steep cliff on the border of the forest with the town of Usho. The building itself was small, but elaborate in design. The wooden roofs were made in the style of a pagoda with pointed tips. A large bronze bell could be seen on a short belfry level, used to warm of a coming storm from the distant coast. Small stone statues of foxes uniformly lined a brick walkway to the main entrance increasing with size and prominence. The temple's main door was closed and locked leaving the inner chamber inaccessible to everyone, except for the key wielding priest in town and the spirit who lives there. Two figures sat before a small altar inside, a man to the right and a white fox to the left. All nine of her black tipped tails swayed happily while the human thought of a prayer to write down and attach to the shrine's altar. Many others from the past weeks hung modestly like decorations.

'He's taking a long time.' She looked over at him deep in thought. A few "helpers" were sent over to assist him.

"Yua, your fur is distracting me." Shensu smiled as the kitsune's tails began slowly cloiling over his bare skin.

"It's my temple. I'll hear your prayer when you send it."

"It's still very distracting." His back arched feeling one wrap around his mid section.

"Because you can't resist my luxurious fur." She grinned beside him.

"It is cold outside." He let them wrap around him thoroughly. "Although having my clothes stolen by a certain fox isn't very convenient either." Shensu could see his garments folded up in a corner.

"My fur is much better."Yua scooted closer to her mate.

"Oof! Careful!" He watched as the kitsune crawled into his lap facing him. Shensu quickly found his face buried in her tuft of white chest fur with a few tails draping over his back. Her head rested above his own with a rumbling murr. "We're not making love on sacred grounds." He objected with a smile feeling her hug him closely.

"You have such a dirty mind." She cooed.

"I have a dirty mind?" His brow arched curiously.

"We have our den for those moments." Yua pulled the human free from her breasts and began kissing him. "I'm loving you. It's different."

"How can I finish my prayer to you with this going on?" He inquired as she rubbed noses with him.

"You can take all night." She offered pushing his shoulders back. "And I'll help in any way." Her tails shielded his bare back from the cold floor as he lied down.

"Please don't wake the local priestess with a piercing howl." He spoke as her lips connected with his own.

"Mmhm." She agreed sensually working mouth and tongue in unison. Shensu cupped her cheeks and pet her black tipped ears to reciprocate the loving gesture.

'I'll think of something.' He thought as her remaining tails intimately swirled and arcing around them.
