Chapter 1

Run on Pure Imagination

Luca: It's a clear, warm summer night at the base of Mt. Coronet. The nearest Human city is Hearthome City. I start wandering through the thick brush at the mountain's base. The events of what had just happened fresh in my mind. I start to get over the shock and cry. Stumbling onto a path frequently used by pokemon, I sit down by a tree and curl up into a ball with my head in between my legs. "Why? I asked myself.

Ember: I'm walking through Hearthome City, since I heard a Lucario was banished from a Vulpix I know, so I run up to Mt.Coronet, to go find a Lucario. I'm searching around trees, in caves, I then find you by a tree, and I come and say to you "What happened? Where's your chest spike?"

Luca: Hearing those words, I look up and cry even more from the mention of my chest spike. Through the tears in my eyes, I see the outline of a Flareon. "I was... Iwas... I wasbanished from... from my clan." I whimpered. My words slurred together because of sadness. "My *sniff*... I evolved without my spike." I said. Finding talking about it made me both sadder and relieved.

Ember: I slowly approach you, purring, which generates heat around me. I ask you why they banished you for that. I just stare at you, concerned and sad at the same time. I ask you about your clan and who banished you. As I look at you cry, I start to purr more.

Luca: Feeling the warmth generate off you, I feel more relaxed. I stop my crying and explain, "My clan were Lucarios, like me. They banished me for evolving without a chest spike. Please, I just want to be alone." Even though I had said I wanted to be alone, it was clear I didn't. I looked away and off into the distance of the Human city.

Ember: I ask you "who's the leader of the clan? If you know his name, I'll kick his ass!" Even though I know you want to be alone, I stay by your side anyway, purring some more trying to keep you happy. My concern grows stronger for you as I walk around you, pacing nervously, not knowing what else to say.

Luca: "Please don't. I do not want to cause my father even more harm. He is already being accused of mating with the weak or him being weak." I explain. I let go of my legs and let them relax on the grassy soil of the path.

Ember: I ask you more about your father, and wonder where he is. Since I don't want you to be alone, I snuggle up in your lap and sleep there, purring as I look up at you. I tell you "Well, i'll go kick his ass anyway, he shouldn't do that to you, it's unfair."

Luca: "There was a vote." I said. You look up with a confused face. "They voted me out. My father voted for me to stay. My father is in the council with the other wise Lucario." I look up to the mountain and remember my home. I point to an almost level point on the side of the main mountain and say, "There. That was my home. And you don't have to do this for me. I had the choice to fight to stay. Prove my honor. But being as shy as I am, I ran off as I knew it would happen anyways." I curl you up in my arms and hold you there. I realize I had been hugging for to long and quickly let go, blushing under my fur.

Ember: I tell you "I don't mind if you hold me, I don't mind" you look at me with a smile on your face. I stare at you with a wide grin, wanting you to hold me again.

I say "And I saw you blush, you don't need to blush." "I'll kick some ass, it's in my blood. I'm a fire type."

Luca: I blush even harder from you knowing I had in the first place. "N-no. I don't want to go back. Besides, I've always wanted to go on an adventure. But I've always been shy and the Garchomp tribe in league with my ex-tribe didn't let me go." I sigh and lean my head back against the trunk of the tree. "But, there are a group of Gardevoir and Gallade that live near the town the Humans call Solaceon town. Or the clan of Glaceon at the northern tip of the mountain. I even heard the majestic Mew visited the Eterna Forest often. Maybe I could go there now that I'm free." I close my eyes and smile upon the new things that have opened towards me.

Ember: "Maybe you could? Can I go with you?" I ask you, hoping to be able to get to know you more. I look at you, your spikes on your wrists make me scared, yet makes me like you even more than I do already. I run around you, biting your toes, trying to get an answer out of you. You just stare into the outside, at the mountain you we're banished from. Since I am eager for an adventure, I ask you the same question again. I purr and snuggle in your lap once more.

Luca: I sigh. "I guess it would be better than moping around. But It's late. Almost high moon I would guess. We need some sleep." I close my eyes and lay on the ground on my side. Sleeping on my side has always come naturally to me. Most Lucario and Riolu sleep on their backs because of their spikes, but I had always liked to sleep on my side. I closed my eyes. Moments later, I felt something warm and fuzzy curl up against my stomach. I assumed it was the Flareon.

Ember: I snuggle up behind you, purring as I made a new friend. I then drift slowly off to sleep, wondering what new adventures come my way. As I try to sleep, I notice a Gardevoir hiding behind a tree by us. I then think to myself "I wonder where we're going to adventure." Then the Gardevoir shows up.

Luca: Being unable to sleep, even with the warmth of the Flareon, I gently got up. As I did, I heard a twig snap. I look towards where I heard the noise and see a Gardevoir. I back up, only to hit the tree I was leaning against a while ago. "Please, do not hurt me." I said quietly. Either the Gardevoir ignored me or it did not hear me because it kept coming closer. It stepped over the Flareon and stopped inches away from me. It put a lone finger on my chest where my spike was supposed to be and looked at me, expectant for me to explain. "I evolved without one." I said nervously.

Ember: I get up with you and ask what the Gardevoir is doing. The Gardevoir is not speaking, so it must be nervous I thought to myself. I ask you "Do you know this guy?" I slowly back away, as I don't like strangers. I then gather up the courage to charge up a fireball and I launch it at the Gardevoir, making it pissed off. It heads toward you, wanting to kill you, but I fight it to protect you.

Luca: "Wait!" I get between the two of you. I hold a paw to the Gardevoir's head, charging up a force palm. And a foot paw to the Flareons head, stopping him as he struggles to move forward. "Explain yourself. There is no reason to fight if we do not have to. I apologize for my friends rash behavior." The Gardevoir's anger left it's face. Her voice rings in our heads, blocking out all other thoughts. "No. It is me who should apologize. I just thought that... that... I overheard you talking about traveling. I wondered if I could come with. But your friend attacked and instinct took over." "It is fine." I lower both paws. "My name is Luca."

Ember: I introduce my name, Ember, to the Gardevoir, apologizing for attacking it, and that I thought it would hurt you. The gardevoir stares at me, than accepts my apology. I ask you "Do you know this guy?" I then pace around, looking at Gardevoir, who gives me a suspicious look. I look at you, and you look at me. I decide to befriend the stranger Gardevoir.

Luca: The Gardvoir's voice rings out in both our heads again. "No. I do not know Luca." A tear came streaming down her face. She clasped her arms around me in a hug and continued. "I was just trying to get away from my trainer. He... He... He tried to rape me." Tears now flowed freely down her face and into my fur. I put an arm behind her back and underneath her legs, picking her up while she held onto my neck. "It's going to be fine. I will not allow that sort of thing to happen here." The Gardevoir looks up at my eyes and says, "My name is Crystal." This wasn't the voice in my head, this was a soft, beautiful voice that only came from her.

Ember: I look at Crystal with concern, I ask her "What's your trainer's name? And why did he try to rape you?" She doesn't answer me, so I hop up and come to see her. I purr, showing her I accept her. I say in your ear "It seems you sort of love crystal, don't you?" As I purr again by her. I take a liking to her also. I also tell her "Me and Luca will protect you, don't worry,you're safe in our arms, well...in luca's arms."

Luca: I blush at what Ember said. "Careful what you say and think around Gardevoirs. They can read minds." I whisper in your ear. "He's right. But I don't know why I didn't see what my trainer wanted when I read his. As for his name, he just told me to call him Master." She said in that sweet voice. I let go of her as she let go of me. Ember staying on my shoulder. "Well, your welcome to stay with us as long as you please." Her eyes sparkled in joy as she tackled me to the ground. Ember falls off my shoulder, only to be caught by telekinesis and being gently laid down on the ground. "Well, seems like I'm not the one to make the first move." I said. She smiled and blushed, but did not get up. She fell asleep on my chest. I look at Ember with a look of uncertainty.

Ember: "Alright, I'll be careful." Then I look at Gardevoir, thinking how great she is, but try to stop since she reads my mind. I freak out as I fall, but calm down after being caught. I just stare at you and Crystal, looking at the new friend I made, now not paying attention to me. I whimper quietly and fall asleep. "I need a friend like Gardevoir too I think to myself."

Luca: As I realize Ember has fallen asleep too, I look down at the sleeping Gardevoir. Then I thought, "Wait, why don't I feel a stabbing in my chest. Gardevoirs have spikes that impale them." I look at the Gardevoir's back, but find no spike. "Is she like me? Does she too, have no spike? Or is my chest too numb to feel the pain?" I look around me, but see no blood. With that put away, I closed my eyes and too, fell asleep.
