Beach Patrol (Shark Week 2014)
I've been a furry for three years and never did anything for shark week. I thought that this year I should change that. I'll follow this up with some art and a sequel when I'm back from Europe.
Lucas loved the beach. To him, there was nothing better than the salty air, warm sand and cool waves you can only find there. For him, his job for the Keller County Beach Patrol was the perfect job.
He had handsome blonde hair and a perfect build. He was as perfect for the Beach Patrol as it was for him.
August 14 was a cool summer day. He was out on patrol like usual. Although the number of beachgoers had doubled, his job was relatively calm. The only thing that had happened that week was a jellyfish sting which he had quickly treated.
Lucas was walking around when something caught his eye. It was a half-buried shark tooth necklace with a gold band inscribed with some weird language he didn't recognize. He looked around, but there was no one near
"What a beautiful necklace." Lucas thought, "Wonder why anyone would just leave you lying around?"
He put it in his pocket to add to the lost-and-found when he came back to the station.
He continued his patrol. Put me on.
"What?" Lucas said. He looked around, but again there was no one around. "I must be imagining things"
He took out the necklace. It was nice. He thought "Maybe I could keep it. No, a necklace like this will surely be picked up by its owner."
He looked around again. Still no-one near. He took out the necklace again as if he felt compelled to. "I've always wanted one of these and no-one would know. Maybe I could - No! I have to take this back to the station."
He put it away and thought "That's weird. In my three years, I've never thought of doing something like that. There sure is something beckoning about it though. I'm sure it's nothing."
Give in to me. Just put me on.
"It must be the necklace, trying to get me to wear it. No, that's ridiculous." Lucas thought "Objects don't talk. It must just be my lack of sleep"
He was about to take it out when he heard "Excuse me, sir"
"Huh?" He replied, somehow mentally distracted by the necklace.
"I'm meeting someone at Pier 9, but can't seem to find it" said the beachgoer "Can you point me in the right direction?
"Oh. Of course. See the Pier over there?" Lucas said referring to a pier in the distance to the north. "That's pier 7. Just go in that direction past it and you'll get there."
"Oh, all right. Thanks" said the beachgoer as he headed to his car.
Lucas continued his patrol, but couldn't get the necklace off his mind. There was something mesmerising about it.
Put me on. Give in to your desires. There was no doubting that it was getting louder.
Finally, Lucas took out the necklace again and looked at it. He thought, "I should just give in. It's right." He quickly looked around and, when he was sure there was no one around, put it on.
As soon as the necklace touched his neck, he felt a quick sharp pain which was soon turned to pleasure.
As he looked down at his hand, they gained more muscle and began to change into grey sharkskin. On his back he could feel a tail growing and was paralyzed as his face changed into that of a shark and the personality of the necklace took over and merged with his.
His transformation over, the New Lucas headed to a cove hidden amongst the mountains on the side of the beach. There he found more of the special necklaces. Grabbing six, he headed to the Beach Patrol station.
The Invasion had begun...
